A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

CHARACTER
Name: Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America
Canon: Marvel Universe – Film Verse
Timeline: Just after the conclusion of the Avengers film.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: Not applicable!

Personality: Steve Rogers is nothing if not determined and driven. Born to a poor Irish immigrant family on July 4, 1920, he suffered a great many physical ailments while he grew up, which left him physically weakened and sickly. He was scrawny and frail, but when the United States entered World War II in the winter of 1941, none of this mattered. He began to enlist at every enlistment station he could find, hoping that he could be accepted. Despite false names and pleading with those conducting his physicals, he was denied each time the chance to serve his country. It was this humility, this determination, and the gumption to stand up to bullies despite his physical restrictions that made him catch the eye of Dr. Abraham Erskine. Erskine was searching for the right man to try his top secret Super Soldier Serum on, but it had to be a special man; a man whose traits were good, noble, and honorable. The serum would not only amplify the chosen man’s physical attributes, but also all the traits that made him who he was.

Sickly asthmatic Steve endured a grueling boot camp, using his wit and intelligence where he had no muscle to manage to put himself ahead of the rest of the more physically capable men. Even when he as chosen, he maintained the humble idea that he was just a kid from New York, despite the fact that he had earned this chance himself.

When Dr. Erskine is killed by HYDRA agents, Steve takes the murder personally, and does everything he can to successfully track down the assassin. Despite this deed, he is forced to endure humiliation as a member of a USO show, in which he enjoys grand success on the home front, but at the army camps in Europe, he falls short. When he finds out that his best friend Bucky is captive behind enemy lines, Captain Rogers goes against his orders and has Howard Stark air drop him into Austrian territory. He infiltrates the prison and liberates the prisoners single-handedly, and brings every single one of them back to camp to much applause. However, he openly offers himself to his commanding officer for a reprimand, willing to accept punishment for going against his superior.

He is even willing to sacrifice his life to save others by crashing a HYDRA ship into the Artic so that it does not detonate over US civilian targets. His last words were to the woman he loved, promising to meet her for a date so she could teach him to dance. That dance never came to be.

Steve awoke in 2011, found by agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. who were tracking down the Tesseract, a mystical cube that was a self-sustaining energy source. He has been forced to adapt to a world seventy years removed from the one he remembers, without anything familiar from his life before.

Steve has a strong sense of justice and honor, even if that sense of justice may put him on the opposite side of the established law. He believes in the sanctity of life and humanity, and has a great deal of respect for those around him, though at times, that respect has to be earned. He is a patriot and a soldier; the ideal of the old-fashioned hero. He has a sense of humility and innocence; certainly a man of a bygone era trying to come to terms with a new world that he has been thrust into. He perseveres, despite the hardships he is faced with, and emerges as a true and just leader.

CHARACTER
Name: Grimmjow Jeagerjaques
Canon: Bleach
Timeline: Some months after the fight with Ichigo in Las Noches.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality: Grimmjow can be described in a few words. One of which would be prideful. He is very strong, and he knows it, so he carries with him the pride of being a very powerful hollow, as well as a constant chip on his shoulder. Because of his pride, he often seeks out fights with individuals he perceives may possess, or will eventually possess, great power. This is evidenced by his allowing Ichigo to live more than once, after brutally beating him down, and awaiting the moment in which he could fight the substitute Shinigami at his full strength. Grimmjow has expressed a great distaste for fighting against those who do not match up to his standards, as he did by quickly disposing of Rukia Kuchiki and dismissing her as a waste of his time, even after she had encased him in ice.

Being such a prideful creature, Grimmjow is prone to insubordination, such as around his “superior” Kaname Tousen, who he blatantly dislikes, and even Sousuke Aizen. Most of these insubordinations are allowed, to a point. Like an animal, Grimmjow can be subdued by a show of power, as shown by Aizen’s control of him despite his fiery nature. He is not above subversion however, as he is constantly disobeying the stated wishes of the defected Shinigami trio, giving attitude to his perceived superiors such as Ulquiorra Schiffer, and even going so far as to stage an unauthorized invasion and attack of the Human World with his direct subordinates.

Despite all of this, Grimmjow does indeed have a sort of honor code. He does not wish to fight a previously injured opponent. For example, he demanded that Orihime heal Ichigo not because he had any sort of sentimental feelings, but because he wished to defeat him at full power. He will also repay kindnesses, likely out of some wish to keep out of debt, or to accrue other favors. Not that he has to, being as powerful as he is.

Grimmjow is more uncaringly animalistic than any of his fellow Espada ever were, and it shows in his fiery, combative demeanor and the fact that he fights hand to hand, not always with his sword. Even his Resurreccion state is panther-like, as was his previous Adjuchas-class form. Perhaps due in part to this, he is a physical fighter and is wickedly fast, not just due to his use of Sonido, the equivalent to the Shinigami Flash Step. Despite this animalistic nature, he does possess intelligence and tactical prowess, and will not fail to exploit any openings shown to him.

One thing that will always anger Grimmjow, especially now after he’s been so soundly defeated, is being regarded in contempt. Specifically, he hates those who believe they can defeat him no matter how badly he injures them, and he will become obsessed with the idea of wiping that look off their face.

(Because he has not been made reference to, but he has been shown to be alive if not injured right before Aizen’s defeat, this next part is purely headcanon.)

Ever since he was defeated by Ichigo in Las Noches and being one of the only remaining Arrancar after the defeat of Aizen and really, the only Espada, he has since gone about prowling Las Noches and on occasion, devouring hollows. He does not care for feeding on human souls, being what he is. He’s become a little more reserved, but the fiery temper and attitude that he held as an Espada in Aizen’s army has not completely faded.

CHARACTER
Name: Alax
Age: 15-18 years old
Appearance: Alax is of an average height and build, usually wearing homemade clothing. He prefers wearing long sleeved tops of a darker colour, reds and blues, with long pants which he usually trips on. His hair is short and sometimes sticks up but usually only after a transformation back to human form. When he talks in his human form, he often stutters because his brain is going faster than his mouth. When he has extreme emotion his stutter can become worse or better depending on the emotion.
Chosen PB: Cameron Bright (plus several eagle icons)

Personality: Alax is a very intelligent boy. He learnt to transform before all of the other children born in that cycle. But because of this, he knows more about being a bird than being a human. This leads to a difficulty in communication while in his human form which he finds very frustrating. It also means he finds it difficult understanding others in their human forms. He especially won't understand people not from his world. He has been taught that everyone has an animal and when he finds out that this was wrong, it will be very confusing especially as he won't be able to communicate this to those he talks to very well.

If he's trying to say something and he can't, he can get angry with himself but he usually calms down quickly and tries again. He's part of the minority because he was able to transform so quickly and therefore not as important to the humans in the village. He used to try and work on it, but now he's given up and just stays out of everyone's way, usually in the sky.

Being in such a closed society, and having such a sheltered life due to his problems in his human form, Alax lives almost in the Dark Ages. He has no concept of technology and won't know what the buildings are or what the watch is. He may also find it difficult to work out how to use it since he is used to communicating in person or through his bird calls.

Due to a lack of other activities in his preferred form, Alax tends to fly further afield than the other birds in his clan. He explores more of his world that he’s been told he should and no one believes him when he returns. This shows bravery in the face of the unknown, as well as strength to not let insults of his peers affect him. They do though, slightly.

Alax doesn’t necessarily believe he was meant for greater things, but he doesn’t want to be confined to the village. He stays in his tent when in human form because he isn’t a nuisance there and he is out of the way. But really, he wants a place where he belongs even if it is away from his birth place.

World Information: Millennia ago, Alax’s ancestors learnt to communicate with the animals of their world. They taught them to transform into humans while the animals in turn taught the humans how to become animals. After many generations, they all became one race with the ability to transform, though they could only become one animal beside their human form. As time moved on, the traditions stayed the same and the animal part of the brain was more pronounced. The first word of every new baby was the animal they would learn to become.

Alax’s people are similar to American Indians as they tell time by the cycles of the seasons. Time is measured from when the first humans learn to transform. There is no technology and due to the animals being part of their race, they only eat plants and vegetables that they grow themselves. As with all species, there are some who break from the herd to live their own way and this has happened many times between the first transformation and Alax’s birth. This is what creates the different clans as well the animal groups.

History: Alax was born in the first season of the 131st cycle after the first transformation. His father, Tibin, was a black bear while his mother, Alria, was a bull frog. They had had trouble conceiving a child in the past and so were delighted when Alax came along. Alax was taught the basics of how to survive as a child. How to grow the plants and harvest them, which plants were safe to eat in the forest, and how to tell apart different clans to make sure no feuds broke out.

When he became six cycles of age, Alax was told his first word was ‘bird’. This meant he would one day soar into the skies and become part of that group as well the family he was born into. Unlike most children, who took up to four cycles to learn how to transform, Alax was one of the lucky few who only took two cycles and two seasons to learn. By the beginning of his ninth cycle, he was soaring high and proud as if he was his father’s age. But learning this so fast, came at a price. Due to his success in transformation, he found living as a human much more difficult. Learning the plants and crops to eat was much harder than it was for the rest of his family and he often made mistakes. Eventually, he was told to stay inside the village if he was human and he reluctantly agreed.

Because of this, he spends most of his time as the white-tailed eagle he can transform into rather than as the human he was born as.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Alax’s main strength is his ability to transform seamlessly. He feels safer in his bird form because he knows he can do it. He is very intelligent but his main weakness is that he finds it very hard to communicate with other humans. Their actions and even their speech confuse him and he can seem stupid even when he isn’t. It takes him a while to understand and respond and often he flies around to either calm himself, or think about what he wants to say. Another main weakness is his stutter but he's okay in his bird form because he prefers it and knows he can do it. His speech is easier there too with no chance of a stutter. Due to the lack of technology, Alax cannot read or write.

Abilities: Alax can turn into a white-tailed eagle. When he transforms back, his clothes appear with him.

First Person: [Alax stepped off the train and looked around. He had no idea what had just happened or where he was but he was certain of one thing. He was nowhere near the village. Even with his extensive flying, he’d never seen anything like this before. It worried him.

Looking down, he saw the watch. He touched the face and it sprang to life.]

Ahh...W-W-What are you? [He muttered, not realising what he had done. Picking up the watch, carefully, he explored a little further until he came to the exit from the station. Then he stared at all the buildings.] W-W-Where am I?

Third Person: Alax stepped out of his tent, looking around with a smile. Today was a brilliant day for flying. After checking there was nothing, and no one, he could bump into; he jumped up high and transformed, soaring higher and higher into the skies. It was blissful up here. Just the breeze under his wings and the endless expanse to be explore.

Of course, he had been told many times not to stray beyond the boundaries of the village but he couldn’t help it. He wanted to be free and search for a place that he truly belonged. Maybe today would be that today. Maybe today be would come back to his parents and tell them he would be gone for good. There would be arguments, he knew that. No one ever left the village permanently. But as much as he loved his Mama and Papa, he couldn’t stay somewhere where only they cared about him.

Looking around, he picked a direction and started to fly. Yes, today was certainly starting out to be a good day.

CHARACTER
Name: Sansa Stark
Canon: A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones
Timeline: Toward the end of book three, A Storm of Swords, just before her canon escape from the city of King's Landing.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: When we are first introduced to Sansa in canon, in book one of the ASOIAF series, Game of Thrones, she is an eleven-year-old girl, full of idealistic dreams. (Side note, because of my show-based icon, I am playing Sansa as roughly fifteen years of age, as opposed to the thirteen or so she would be at the time I'm taking her from in the third book. This is to more closely match up to the GoT actress in my icon.) Sansa loves songs and tales about knights and princesses and her dream is to marry a golden prince like those in the tales. She thinks she has found him in Prince Joffrey, and a kind mentor in his mother, Queen Cersei.

But she is wrong. By the end of the first book, Sansa is the only member of her family in the royal palace, a hostage to be used against her brother Robb. Through the second book, she suffers abuse at the orders of the now King Joffrey, and he often orders his Kingsguard (special bodyguards) to beat her, even though she is still betrothed to him. Their betrothal is broken at the end of book two, and when book three begins, Sansa is just starting to hope that she will be free again, letting some of her previous dreamy self return as she hopes for a better husband. This too is thwarted when she is married to Joffrey's uncle Tyrion, a disfigured dwarf. Tyrion is kind in his way, but he is still a Lannister, and Sansa, grieving the brutal murders of her brother and mother, is in no mind to warm to him at all.

The Sansa who arrives in Ruby City has just escaped from Joffrey's wedding feast, where he just died. She is a young girl carrying all of the scars of what has happened in her life. She has been forced to learn, the hard way, that beauty is no indication of kindness or goodness - the only people to have shown her kindness in the Red Keep were Tyrion, Sandor Clegane aka the Hound (a brutal, horribly scarred member of the Kingsguard), and Ser Dontos (a drunk who Sansa is able to manipulate Joffrey into making a Fool instead of executing). Despite all of this, Sansa still has moments of idealistic naivete - she still wants to believe in the stories she once held so dear, and sometimes she slips back into that.

However, she is also a kind girl, who can find it in her to feel sympathy and pity even in the midst of her own suffering and even for those she mistrusts or fears. For her, Ruby City is not a prison but a refuge, an escape far from the reach of any Lannisters. She might be confused and bewildered by the city and its inhabitants, but as long as they are not prepared to hurt her, she will consider it a great improvement. She is wary of kindness now, having been fooled and tricked so often, but she still wants to believe and that might be one of her best traits. She still wants to believe that people are good and kind, like her stories. She just knows they aren't always.

First Person: [Sansa sits up and looks around the strange chamber she seems to be in, utterly confused. This doesn't look like anything in the Red Keep and that is good, but... Where is she?

She has no idea, and her confusion does not lessen when a strange force propels her from what seems to be... The best she can think of is that it's a group of horseless wheelhouses, chained together. But the surroundings outside are no less puzzling as she walks down the road, heart pounding. These buildings are not like anything she knows, this entire place seems... strange, and so quiet.]

Hello? Is anyone there?

Third Person: Sansa still didn't quite understand this 'Ruby City' or the idea of another world entirely. It had occurred to her that perhaps it wasn't another world - maybe it was a delusion, or perhaps she was even dead and this was the afterlife. Whatever it was, she would take it; even if it didn't last, it was a welcome respite from her life.

Perhaps one day someone would write a song about her strange journey.

From what she'd been able to find out, no one here had heard of her home, or knew anything about the Lannisters, the Starks, the Baratheons, anyone. She was safe here, beyond the reach of anyone who might want her.

Even the warnings about people who ruled this place and could be cruel didn't trouble her. She didn't think anything could hurt worse than what she'd already faced, even if it was technically worse. She'd already had every dream she ever had shattered, already lost her entire family - except Arya, who was missing and probably dead, but never confirmed to be, and her bastard half-brother Jon Snow. To see either one of them again...

But that wouldn't happen here, and she would have to be happy with what she did have here. Safety, at least more than she'd had until now. That was quite a lot for her these days.

CHARACTER
Name: Lyrik
Canon: The Dragon Sorceror of Cohseltel
Timeline: From volume three of Koryuutachi no Monogatari series!
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:
There seems to be a particular trait that runs true with the various dragon types; the tree dragons have a mischievous streak, the earth dragons are bookworms, the fire dragons tend to have a terrible sense of direction- and water dragons tend to be romanticists.

Lyrik is outgoing and amiable, all-in-all possessing a rather likable character. He's usually very cheerful and likes to help out. He's very devoted to Elle, and as most dragons tend to, he's rather protective of her and concerned for her well-being. Lyrik is also the type to really put his mind to something when he's determined to get a task done, no matter how hopeless it might seem. He doesn't give up quite so easily- unless of course it is on the matter of getting a love letter sent to Dark Dragon Raluka since well...her (overprotective) brother also happens to be Cohseltel's mail carrier.

Although he does have a tendency to a bit of a flirt with the girls, he's especially fond of Yuishi for how long that he's known her. He respects the Earth Dragon's space though, and knows that she's quite close with her own dragon sorcerer, even if she won't admit it. Of course, it doesn't stop him from being overly happy whenever all the girls come over for a party- and he tends to greet the boys that come as an afterthought. He has the tendency to say things without completely thinking them through, and it usually ends up with him getting hit by one of the guys.

Still, for how silly he might be, he's also quite responsible. He's not the sort to try forking off the fault of something to another person, and will be truthful in the matter at hand.

First Person:
W-well this is certainly a curious thing..! Is this how it works..?

Um, hello! My name is Lyrik, and I think I'm...well, rather far from home, obviously. It's a bit of a blur as to how I got here, actually. Um. Come to think of it, I don't remember how I got here at all..!

[Whatever calm he'd been in possession of goes slipping through his fingers as he suddenly throws his hands over his cheeks.]

-oh no! Don't tell me I got dragon-napped!! Wh-where is this? Is anyone around? H-hello...??? Uwah, Elle- does she even know I'm gone?!

Third Person:
He was quite certain that he'd just been down the usual stream, and that it would not have been several minutes more before he'd reach the waterfall and the home of the Water Dragons. It was only with some minor disappointment that he would be returning from the Wood Dragons' home without the bushel of strawberries he'd hoped to make use of for desserts later on, but according to Roy and Noi, they weren't quite ready yet. What a shame!

Any excuses he had been preparing himself to make in front of two baby dragonlings was long out of his mind now that he stood on the unfamiliar platform in equally unfamilar scenery.

"....wait, what? Where'd the stream go?" Frowning, the young water dragon glanced around, scratching his head. "Where'd the forest go, for that matter! And what- where did all those buildings come from??" The moment he caught sight of them, Lyrik began to step towards the edge of the station's platform, staring out at the rows of odd buildings. They looked nothing like any of the places he knew in Cohseltel. The homes of the dragon mages were the only places that could possibly compare, but yet these had some odd design to them that didn't match the architecture at all.

     "Just where is thi- ACK!"

Completely forgetting to pay attention to where he stood, Lyrik's next step took him right off of the raised platform and over the edge. He landed in a heap beside the brickwork, wincing as he slowly pushed himself up. "O-ow....." He gingerly got to his feet, dusting off his clothes before flicking his ponytail over his shoulder. A glint of metal caught his eye then, and glancing down at the ground, he saw it- a circular object of antique gold with a chain attached to it. "Hm? What's this?" he mused, picking it up. It was too big to be someone's locket. With a curious frown, Lyrik thumbed one of the knobs on it, nearly jumping as it sprung open.

"-ah! ...huh. I wonder what this is for..?"

CHARACTER
Name: Minako Arisato
Canon: Persona 3 Portable
Timeline: Post-Death
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:
In many ways, like her male counter part from the original Persona 3 game, Minako does not have a personality that's set in stone, however, from what others say about her in the game, and the choices given to the player it is possible to piece together a good view of what sort of person she actually is, so she can't be described as a completely blank slate.

Some similarities that should be mentioned though, is that she's pretty fearless and driven by a desire to help, or at the very least collected and difficult to rattle- Even when faced with what she believed to be a gun she didn't panic, and even when the world changed from normal to the rather terrifying Dark Hour, she stayed calm and has proven herself, like Minato, that freaking out isn't something she's prone to doing, even in tense and frightening situations. She's pretty good at keeping her cool at all times. Also, it's worth mentioning that while Minato seems to be oblivious to some of the things people are feeling, Minako is just oblivious to the way some men might look at her.

Unlike the male protagonist though, Minako is an outgoing and active person who likes to involve herself in the lives of others even if it might not always benefit her much as she has a tendency to make other people's problems her own as well, though I will come back to that later. She's described by others as cheerful and carefree, and kind of talkative as she speaks up in many places where Minato would've kept his silence. She's more likely to come with comments on a situation, saying how she's feeling at the time and encouraging those around her when they're feeling down. She's bubbly, and girly, and easily keeps a positive and upbeat attitude going, popular among close friends and casual acquaintances alike and she's shown to be very popular at school as well, and able to get along with both her classmates and with people a lot older than her and even in situations she doesn't really relate to.

To her peers she's encouraging- Always willing to listen and help out, come with suggestions, and though some of them might be a bit out there, it's obvious she's someone who wants the best for those she cares for. She'll tell people what they need to hear, even if it may come off as rude- Like asking someone if they're not just being a doormat or telling them they're going too far- without any malice motivating her actions. If she resorts to that sort of thing, then it's honestly because she believes that's the only thing that'll help. Like one of her friends says in the game- She's honest in a way that's not off-putting to others and very clear and outspoken as far as her own opinion goes and it's easy to say that while she's a typical girly-girl who likes to joke around with her friends, she also has a certain motherly maturity to her that comes out when it's needed, enabling her to be bossy and stern for the benefit of the friend in question- She just tends to adapt to what people need her to be.

Around adults though, it's a bit of a different matter- With them she finds it harder to communicate on an equal level and finds herself treated basically like the teenager she is, and thought she accepts that, she does seem to have issues with finding the right thing to say to them, though will generally try to befriend them as well, as she doesn't really care what age those she cares about are, as long as she enjoys their company.

Now, back to the type of person she is- She's bubbly and cheerful yes, but she's also very devoted to the things that matter. She'll throw herself into tasks at hand and quickly become involved, both as a friend and as a leader. She has a sharp wit about her, which she uses both in her forays with her team in Tartarus and to deflate someone else's ego when they're not treating her fairly. As a leader and teammate, she's also extremely loyal and dependable. She knows what she had to do, and will do it, because she truly wishes to keep the people who are the most important to her out of harm's way, and just like her male counterpart, she has a pretty prominent self-sacrificial streak where she doesn't mind getting in trouble or straight out in danger when she feels it's necessary to do so in order to protect a loved one and failing to do so, is one of the few things that can make her feel down, be it failing at being a support or if someone she cares about gets hurt.

Other things that should be taken into consideration as far as her personality goes, is that outside of situations with friends and her team, she can be pretty lazy to the point of sleeping the day away, and take days where she just abandons all responsibility to do as she wishes, though these bouts of selfishness are pretty rare.

All in all, Minako is bubbly and energetic, motherly and nurturing with a thing for sacrificing not only her own comfort for others, but also her own safety should it become necessary, a damn good leader and a damn good and loyal friend who's always willing to give a helping hand.

CHARACTER
Character Name: Dave Strider
Canon: Homestuck
Timeline: After his death (Aged: mid-50s)

Personality: For the most part, Dave in the alpha universe has similar personality traits to his beta universe self. Much like Dirk and Bro have similar interests despite vastly different upbringings, Dave Strider has a certain ineffable nature that stays the same no matter how he was raised. Much of that probably also has to do with the memories that Dave retained after the Scratch. Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, in the pre-Scratch universe, was intended to be an ironically shitty webcomic, the manifestation of all of the lessons in irony that his Bro instilled in him in the pre-Scratch session. In the post-Scratch session, it becomes not only his livelihood, but also the source of his fame.

Despite what he would tell you, if there is one thing that Dave Strider is, it’s heroic. When the Batterwitch took over Earth, he dedicated the remainder of his life to fighting against her tyranny and making a difference. Ultimately, he didn’t, but his deeds were nonetheless recorded and remembered, and Dirk admires his acts.

Like Roxy, Dirk considers Dave to have been distant and somewhat neglectful. However, Dave did the best that he could. He knew that he would not live long enough to raise Dirk, and so he left the boy with everything necessary for him to be able to raise himself, and dedicated his life to trying to make the world safe for Dirk to grow up in. He left behind a legacy that would go down in history, and he told Dirk the truth about the Game and about how they were truly related. It’s obvious that even though he couldn’t be there to raise him, he still cared very much about his bro.

He wanted Dirk to remember him and know who he was, even though he had no idea when Dirk’s meteor would land. He left Dirk a collection of his films, as well as all of the knowledge that he possessed about the nature of the game that Dirk was destined to one day play.

Like his pre-Scratch counterpart, Dave is headstrong, diving determinedly into everything that he sets his mind to. An example of this would be when he fought the Juggalo presidents on top of the White House because it was the right thing to do. He isn’t afraid to die, unlike his pre-Scratch counterpart, which has more to do than the difference in maturity levels than anything else. Dave Strider is at least 50 years old at the time of the Mirthful Executives, and older still when he and Rose faced off against Her Imperious Condescension.

He is a designated Guardian of the post-Scratch session, even if he didn’t get to personally raise his charge. As such, he also has a lot of traits in common with his pre-Scratch guardian, Bro. Although he never got a chance to show it directly, he was motivated by the need to keep Dirk safe. He used all of the means that he had at his disposal to ensure this, and the few times that he is seen in canon are very reminiscent of Bro’s heroics throughout the pre-Scratch session, down to and including the way in which he died.

He is much more mature than pre-Scratch Dave, which has to do with the fact that post-Scratch Dave is into his fifties. Being admired and adored by critics has made him much less emotionally needy than his teenaged counterpart, and he is much more legitimately self-assured, with a lot less cocky teenage bravado. However, he is still obstinately bloody-minded, and he will pursue his goals to the bitter end. He is willing to die trying to make a difference in the world for Dirk, a determination that his pre-Scratch self was unable to match until Rose went on a suicide mission to the Green Sun.

History: In the Post-Scratch universe, the meteor that carried baby Dave crashed on earth around the late 1970s or early 1980s, near Houston, Texas. Because he was an unnatural baby with no parents who crash-landed in a meteor, he was put in the Texan foster care system. Like the Sufferer in post-Scratch Alternia, Dave retained some of his memories from the game. Among these memories was Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, which was actually his creation from the Pre-Scratch universe, with influence from Terezi.

When he grew up, he made a name for himself with SBaHJ, and wound up a famous director. He still possesses the shades from Starsky and Hutch that were such an important part of his pre-Scratch image, only in the post-Scratch universe they were a gift from Ben Stiller himself, rather than from John. This was not the only piece of movie memorabilia that Dave collected. In fact, he built a private museum of movie memorabilia (devoted to the art of irony), in which he displayed the stuffed rabbit from Con Air, the same rabbit that Dave gave John for his birthday in the Beta universe (and that subsequently has made its rounds through two universes and the hands of all 8 kids in one way or another). In fact, Dirk tells us that he had a brief obsession with Con Air, which is another example of the memories that he retained from the pre-Scratch session, since John’s favourite movie was Con Air.

He also, along with the memories that he retained, possessed insider knowledge of his new role in the game. He knew that one day, he was supposed to be the guardian for one of the heroes of the new session. However, due to temporal shenanigans, he never got the opportunity to do so. The meteors carrying Dirk and Roxy were inexplicably delayed by four centuries, leaving Dave and Rose guardians with no charges. Dave therefore devoted himself to his films. He knew the true nature of the Baroness of Crockercorp, and the SBaHJ films all contain symbolism that point toward the threat that she represented for Earth. Eventually, his studio was engaged in all-out media war with Crockercorp. Donald Glover won an Academy Award for his role as Geromy in SBaHJ the Moivie, but was assassinated by the Batterwitch.

Dave also developed the technology to create real life JPEG artifacts which, even though no one bought them, are so inexpensive to make that they in fact made a profit being created. After a while there was a surplus of shitty JPEG artifacts that absolutely nobody wanted. So he came up with the bright idea to launch all of them into the sun in order to get rid of them. However, a few survived, including a sord in Dirk’s room and an Unreal Air that stayed in Dave’s possession.

When Her Imperious Condescension placed the Mirthful Executives in charge, Dave had had enough. He confronted them directly for a duel. They agreed, and he approached them on top of the White House. He then proceeded to hand them their asses in truly epic fashion, finishing them off with one swing of his sword. Dirk describes it as “one of the most heroic moments in human history.” After the battle, he mounted the Unreal Air and floated off into the sky, disappearing from the history books.

However, that isn’t where his story ends. He and post-Scratch Rose, who also did her part in taking out the puppet government put in place by Her Imperious Condescension, stood up against the alien tyrant. Her strength was too much for them, however, and she murdered both of them. Dave died impaled by his own sword, which was broken off in his chest.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths
Despite the fact that he’s getting up there in years, one of Dave’s greatest assets is his speed and agility in combat. A holdover from his pre-Scratch training, it’s one of the biggest advantages that he has, in complement to his swordkind specibus. As far as mental strengths go, he’s intelligent and witty. His films were drenched thoroughly in anti-Crockercorp symbolism, but the critics all failed to come up with solid evidence until after the Batterwitch was revealed. He is resilient and determined. When there is a job to be done, he will see it through with single-minded obstinacy or die in the effort.

Weaknesses
His obstinacy also gets him into trouble, because he can put on his blinders and become completely single-minded about a task, which is not always the best solution. By far, however, his greatest weakness is Dirk. It’s probably a good thing that he never actually had the chance to be Dirk’s Guardian, officially, in the post-Scratch universe. In a way, even though Dirk’s meteor wasn’t going to land for another four hundred years, Dave still found a way to die trying to protect him. If Dirk was in danger and there was something that Dave could do about, he would stop at absolutely nothing to protect him. Even in another universe, he’s following the example that pre-Scratch Bro set for him for how to be a good guardian, a Bro that Dirk can be proud of, even if Dave couldn’t be there to raise him.

Abilities: Dave is an excellent swordsman. He destroyed the Mirthful Executives in one swing of his sword. He’s also creative and technologically talented. He patented new technologies to make the real JPEG artefacts, and his unique system of delivering films (part of the experience, supposedly) was downright brilliant. He does NOT seem to possess any of his time-altering abilities from the pre-Scratch session.

Relationships to Canon Characters: Dirk Strider – Dave was supposed to be his guardian, but Dirk was temporally displaced by a few centuries. Still, Dave prepared his apartment for Dirk’s arrival, presumably just before going off on a suicide mission to fight the Batterwitch.
Dave Strider – His pre-Scratch self
Rose Lalonde – His ecto-sister; her alpha universe self fought and died alongside him against Her Imperious Condescension.
He also remembers the other Beta kids to some degree, particularly John.

First Person:
so how does this thing work exactly
oh this must be speech to text
that button is handy as fuck ill have to keep note of that
handsfree communication is the way of the future
or also this shithole whatever the fuck it is

where is everyone?
can anyone actually read this or am i just making an ass of myself
wouldnt be the first time honestly
haven’t seen a single fucking soul around here
if anyones out there the names dave strider
you might have heard of me
then again you might not
far be it from me to judge your taste in movies

Third Person: The last thing that he remembered was searing pain. The sharp pain of the sword being pushed deep through his gut, so hard that it snapped roughly in two. It had been a lingering, aching death, a slow bleeding out, and he had had plenty of time to consider everything that he had lost. His life, his goals...his sister. Rose’s death had been much shorter than his own, and he could only watch, helplessly pinned to the ground, as the life seeped out of her.

And what had he gained? Absolutely nothing. He and Rose had taken out the heads of the puppet government that the Baroness put into place, but in the long run that wouldn’t do any good at all. The Baroness would simply replace them with someone else. Someone worse, potentially.

Dave lay there with his face frozen in a grimace of pain, blood rattling in his throat with every shaky breath, for god only knew how long, as it got harder and harder to focus – harder and harder to breathe - and all that he could think about, by the end, was how badly he had failed the one person who was counting on him more than anything. His final shaking breath came out in a sob, and then Dave Strider was no more.

But almost as soon as the darkness had closed in around him, he was jolted awake again. And this time, he was seated on a train, rolling quietly through the countryside. There was no physical pain – there was a phantom throb in his gut from where the sword had pierced him, but it passed as soon as he saw that it was no longer there. It didn’t make any sense. Why was he still alive? It was impossible that he had just dreamt it. If anything, being on the train suddenly was what felt more like a dream, like an afterlife right out of one of Rose’s elaborate wizard books. When the train rolled through an impossibly dense fog, it definitely didn’t do anything to erase the sinking feeling that he was on a one-way trip to Somewhere Else.

Finally, the train slowed. A grey sort of civilisation rose slowly out of the fog, casting a darkened pall over everything. It creaked to a halt and stayed there for longer than it should. Dave slowly made his way to the door, feeling like the train was just waiting for him to leave. When he stepped out onto the platform, just as alone as while he’d been riding it, he decided that that must mean that he had made it to Somewhere Else. He must’ve really fucked up if his afterlife was a desolate wasteland.

Oh well, shame to waste it, anyway. He might as well start exploring.

CHARACTER
Character Name: Rose Lalonde
Canon: Homestuck
Timeline: Post-death [Aged: mid-50s]
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: On the whole, this alpha universe version of Rose isn't terribly different from her beta counterpart. She tends to play the straight man in situations, although she's not immune to a little silliness now and again though it usually comes out by way of sarcasm. She's prideful but can admit to her own mistakes. Her snark is unmatched and dry sense of humor haven't changed despite the reset universe and the addition of forty two years. Her sincere love of wizards and the macabre also remained, as evidenced by her books.

Roxy considers Rose to be a distant, rather neglectful guardian. Little things she left behind for her daughter, such as bottle of alcohol and buckets, Roxy took as passive aggressive dares and jabs at her housekeeping. However, much like Rose's relationship with Roxy's pre-Scratch self, much of this is a big misunderstanding. Everything she left behind she did for a reason. With the use of her Vision Omnifold Rose knew that alcohol would slack Roxy's void abilities, therefore making it so UU could contact, keep track of and eventually give her details about Sburb. The buckets were for the inevitable fire that would break out when the Imperial Drones attacked. She is nothing if not thorough.

While she still retains a healthy amount of cynicism and rationality, Rose has more in common with her more mellow post-God Tier Beta self than closed off, embittered girl who covered her own insecurities with wit and big words that confused her friends. She's an adult, has seen a lot in her life and feels confident in herself and her abilities. She still uses long and complicated words but they're much less unusual coming from a fifty plus year old author than from a thirteen year old girl. Her distrustful nature when it comes to receiving kindness from other is also more lacking in the Alpha universe. Because she grew up without the (assumed) passive aggressive insincerity of her Beta mother, Rose is a little more accepting that people are actually being kind. Any distrust is mostly from general world wariness.

She's also more open than her pre-Scratch self. Where that Rose hid her notebooks from all eye but her own, this one freely published her works and became highly acclaimed for it. She's also kept her subtle, trollish sense of humor as evidenced by her boldness in even publishing Complacency of the Learned knowing full well the Condesce would catch wind of it and get nervous. Rose most surely enjoyed the idea of making the fish queen squirm.

History: In the Post-Scratch universe, Rose was "born" (i.e. landed with a meteor and destroyed some very nice building in the process) some time in either the late 1970s or early 1980s in upstate New York. She was put into foster care, being a strange meteor baby and all, but was quickly adopted by a nice couple. Along with Post-Scratch Dave, she was able to retain memories from the game and of her pre-Scratch self. This is what led to her writing her best-selling book series "Complacency of the Learned" as it was a work in progress in the precious universe.

As an adult she became famous for her books, which told the story of an androgynous young Wizard apprentice named Calmasis's efforts to kill the twelve elderly wizards led by Zazzerpan the Learned. The books (of which there were at least six volumes, each one quite long) were an enormous literary success on Post-Scratch Earth and she made an impossible fortune off them, to quote "More money than the U.S. financial system could even account for as legitimately circulating in the economy". There were rumors of real life "wytchkkrafts" being involved but nothing could be proven as there were never any criminal investigations into the matter. The books were also Rose's own special, passive aggressive middle finger to the Baroness.

Possessing the insider knowledge of a guardian and her retained pre-Scratch knowledge, Rose knew someday she would raise one of the heroes of this new Sburb session. She would prepare her daughter for her assigned role and do everything in her power to keep her safe until she was no longer needed as a guardian. Unfortunately, the opportunity never came. With both Dirk and Roxy's meteors inexplicably delayed for four centuries, Rose was a guardian with no charge. So she threw herself into her writing, penning tome after tome of CotL until Her Imperious Condescension finally decided to make an appearance on Earth.

When Guy Fieri rose to power as High Chaplain of Interstellar War and became responsible for the deaths of five billion people during the Hilarocaust, Rose had had enough. Although she couldn't repay his grave and many crimes, she could at least wipe the blood stained grin off his face. They faced off at Niagara Falls, which now flowed with blood.

She gouged out his eyes with a pair of knitting needles and rode his torso to the bottom of the falls.

According to many accounts that's where her story ends but this is not so. She and Dave regrouped and together went after the Batterwitch herself. They had nothing left to lose and if they were going to die what more heroic way than taking down the alien queen who had flooded the Earth? Sadly, she overpowered and killed both of them. Rose died after being stabbed in the side by the Condesce's 2x3dent, presumably bleeding to death.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: Rose is incredibly fit for a woman. She was able to hold her own alone against a man at least twice her size and defeat him. She also has amazing accuracy with her knitting needles. As for non-physical strengths, she's incredibly intelligent and witty as all get out. Her books were saturated in passive aggressive snipes at the Batterwitch and Lord English.

Weaknesses: Rose's strong thirst for knowledge can be problematic. She'll drift away from people she cares about if she finds something that really ensnares her attention, much like when she was in cahoots with the horrorterrors in the Outer Ring in the Betaverse.

However, like any Sburb guardian, Alpha Rose's biggest weakness is her charge, Roxy. Even though she never got the chance to raise her, Rose still did everything in her power to make sure she would be able to survive, including leaving buckets around her house for the eventual fire that would break out in the carapace colony that would build itself around the structure. She would do near anything to ensure Rosy's safety, even give up her own life. A mother will do what's best for her children.

Abilities: According to Roxy, her mother was in possession of "Vision Omnifold". This is a direct parallel to her Seer class in the pre-Scratch universe and it was what enabled her to maintain a good number of Beta memories and how she came to realize the delay of Roxy and Dirk's meteors. It's also quite possible she had "wytchkkraft" powers, which may have contributed to the making of her vast fortune and is a direct reference to her pre-Scratch self's use of black magic.

Her primary weapons are knitting needles which, tethered to strings of yarn, she used to gouge out Guy Fieri's eyes. While it's up in the air whether it can be considered an ability, it's mentioned Rose's image frequently blacked out in photos taken by paparazzi. This is very likely related to her going grimdark in the previous session.

Relationships to Canon Characters:

Roxy Lalonde
: Rose is Roxy's ancestor and ectobiological daughter. Rose foresaw Roxy and Dirk's arrival with the meteors but realized she and Dave wouldn't live long enough to meet their charges. So she did what any mother would do: make sure her daughter would be prepared to survive without her.

Dave Strider: Rose's ecto-brother; his Alpha Universe self fought with her against Her Imperious Condescension and died with her.

Rose Lalonde: Her pre-Scratch self.

With her pre-Scratch self being a Seer, Rose 's memories of Jade, John and the events of Sburb are clearer than Dave's.

First Person:
“In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! we are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory.”
Hm, the afterlife isn't quite as I expected.
A leisurely train ride on my own with nothing but my knitting needles and a pocket watch. I was at least hoping to glimpse a set of pearly gates as cliche as it sounds.
Really, Dave, even after years of companionship you don't have the nerve to join me?

...Ah. It seems the watch has a voice to text function.
Talking to myself and quoting J.R.R. Tolkien just became a little more embarrassing.
But perhaps this means I'm not as dead as I assumed although the
To whom this may concern, hello.
My name is Rose Lalonde and I would like to know exactly where I am and how I got here.

Third Person: Rose thought she'd been prepared to die. That had been their plan: they'd either take down the Empress or die trying. She'd spent says mentally and emotionally preparing herself, physically training her aged but agile body to it's limits. This fight wasn't going to be the cakewalk, pardon the pun, that the High Chaplain had been. This was the grand alien sea witch Herself were facing. Realistically she and Dave didn't stand a chance, she knew that. But they had to try. Finally she'd put the few affairs she had left to take care of in order, set out the last few things for Roxy to eventually find and left her house for what she was sure would be the last time.

Rose was ready to die. What she wasn't ready for was the pain. The Baroness's 2x3dent had pierced her right side, skewering multiple organs in the process and she'd never experienced anything so agonizing in her life. A wet, involuntary gurgle that would have been a scream had her lungs not been quickly filling with blood escaped her lips. They'd lost, of course they'd lost, why had they been so foolish to believe they could beat her on their own?

Lavender eyes darted to the wounded man beside her. Dave stared back at her from behind his ever present shades. His lips moved but she couldn't make out his words. Her ears felt like they'd been stuffed with cotton as red pooled under her. She was cold, when had it gotten so cold? Rose swallowed a mouthful of blood that threatened to bubble up from between her lips and did the only thing that made sense to her at that moment as darkness began clouding the edges of her vision: she reached for her lifeline. Her hand twitched as she struggled to nudge it closer to him. It was the strangest déjà vu, her wanting so badly to have his hand in hers at the end of their lives. The darkness closed in on her before she felt his hand touch hers, before the Condesce drove his own sword through his torso and broke it in half. Rose was the lucky one.

And then she woke up. Rose's eyes flew open after what felt like only a few moments of being closed. A train? She hadn't been on a train in years. Her hand flew to her side. No wound, no blood, not even any real pain. How...curious.

"My afterlife is an eternal train trip. How anticlimactic."

CHARACTER
Name: Undertaker
Canon: Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler)
Timeline: End of the Ship Voyage Arc (Manga verse)

Personality:

The Undertaker has a very cheerful personality, which is remarkable considering in which kind of business he works at. Then again considering his true nature of being a retired Shinigami, a “Death God”, which was revealed towards the end of the Ship Voyage Arc, it is completely normal for one of his kind not to think too bad of death. It doesn’t mean that he is disrespectful towards the dead, by any means; Undertaker treats every dead person coming to his business as a “guest” of his, even calling them that and this shows deep respect coming from his side while other Shinigami such as Grell Sutcliff only care about collecting the souls of the dead.

Another thing that should be noted about Undertaker is that he has a rather strange sense of humor. It is usually hinted that odd posing or embarrassing or naïve behavior such as that of Viscount of Druitt. He treasures fun and laughter, going even far enough to defend the Viscount from a killing blow, saying that to him it would be like losing the whole world and that a world without laughter would be sad.

Aside from a strange sense of humor, the Shinigami also has a strange, if not eccentric behavior. He loves to sleep in coffins especially his own, custom-made ones, looking through papers his head lying on the desk or uses his work utensils for serving drinks, if only to freak others out or the joy of frightening them and see their reaction. His work also seems to bleed into his preference for daily objects, a sort of theme of morbidity - he eats bone shaped cookies. Even for giving information to others he prefers to be paid by being amused in some way rather than in exchange for the Queen’s money.

First Person:

[Behind his sleeve he hid a wide, cheerful, grin. Undertaker was truly fascinated by the sudden change of the situation. To be honest, he hadn’t expected that he would find someone to amuse him so quickly, although this proved to be a promising one.]

Oh~ tell me, have you ever slept in a coffin? I assure you that it’s actually much better than sleeping in a bed. Since they are custom-made, just to fit for you after all.

[He couldn’t wait for the reaction he would receive once they realized what he was talking about. After all, humans had such a strange sense of right and wrong if they thought of coffins or death in general. But this was what made them such entertaining and amusing beings in his eyes.]

Third Person:

It was a usual day of work to him. Undertaker had a few guests for today; all of them were waiting to receive a special treatment from him. Others would have felt their stomach turn at the sight of corpses lying in front of them, but it was different to the former Shinigami. As he stood next to one of his guests, he took a hand and lifted it with utmost care before he ran a wet cloth over it. "My dear, how do you feel? You look like you have been through a lot…"

In his humble opinion the guests that entered his business had more charisma than most of the living that brought them to him. No more words to be spoken since they have said what had to be said and nothing could leave their lips anymore, neither lies nor truth. Their skin as white as the white of a bone or porcelain it would make every Victorian woman jealous of them. No sunlight could taint their show-white flesh ever again, even though they were a little cold to touch if you weren’t used to it. But that didn’t matter much to the Undertaker. He treasured his guests, every one of them equally. They were truly charming in his eyes.

"I wonder…" Yet, there was one thing none of his guests could do despite how much he preferred all of them over the living. None of them could move nor express any more feelings than just the one they passed to the next world with. They couldn’t share a cheerful laughter together as their bodies were slowly but certainly passing on along with their souls, waiting for their very own end to come. "…how many of you would have needed some first-rate laughs in your former lives?" Long-nailed fingers reached up to place back some lose strands of hair before he leaned down to place a kiss on his lovely guest's forehead. "It was all my pleasure to get to know you."

CHARACTER
Character Name: Marquise Spinneret Mindfang
Canon: Homestuck
Timeline: After her death at the hands of The Summoner [She'll look like a 40yr old human]
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Mindfang believes she is the best. Like no one ever was.

No, but in all serious, she believes she is the best, and she shows that opinion. She's cocky, arrogant, and mocks and belittles everyone. At times she believes she has a right to things and the fact that she is aware of her ability to manipulate the wills of others doesn't help with her belief. Even when she falls she gets back up and continues to be cocky, though she does recognise that she has underestimated her oponent. There's no changing her. You can cut off her arm and she'll just get back up proclaiming that now it can be a fair fight.

At the same time, Mindfang has another side to herself, in which she shows that she can care. She does care. Despite mocking Dualscar for his own quirks and flaws, she did care as she feels she was broken hearted when he broke of their relationship. She also cares when her slave (Assumed to be The Dolorosa) is assassinated, despite the fact the woman was of lower blood than Mindfang, as well as a slave. She felt that their relationship could have moved into a red romance, and seemed to have a genuine interest in the woman despite controlling her will a large amount of the time.

Mindfang also relishes competition, to the point that one of the biggest flaws she found in Dualscar is that she felt he did not challenge her enough. This competitive streak, or need to have a rivalry doesn't mean that she is content with losing though, she simply wants the excitement it offers. And when the chance of competition escapes her, she is disappointed, even if in return she has won. Despite it being necessary for her survival, she regrets causing Redglare's death, believing that the other woman could have offered her a challenge that she had been missing.

And she can be sensible, and at times, she accepts her fate. She accepts the cards that the game of life gives her, and then she plays them to the best of her abilities, occassionally with a little bit of 'cheating'. At the same time, she's careful, careful enough to pay her own bounties off after she commits her crimes, which can only encourage those higher than her to overlook her. And when told her matesprite will be the one to kill her she accepts it.

Another thing that makes Mindfang different is her lack of interest in the blood caste system. She's not about to go charging out and spreading The Sufferer's words, but Dualscar says she tends to encourage red romance between herself and lowbloods, something which disgusts him. She also becomes aware that her destined Matesprite will be a lowblood and she accepts this, deciding she will pursee that relationship anyway, where as she could have avoided it completely if she had wished to.

As the ancestor of Vriska Sekret, it is impossible not to notice the similarities between Mindfang and Vriska. They are genetically matched after all. However, whether this just means that many of their traits are shared by those of the same shade of blue blood, or that Vriska modelled her behaviour on Mindfang or that it’s just a coincidence is unknown. But while Mindfang and Vriska have similar personalities they differ, both due to a difference in life situations and the fact that Mindfang is much older than Vriska. As a whole Mindfang is more mature than Vriska, not as childish or pushy.

History: We are only ever given a brief history of Mindfang's life, only covering a small period of it. The higher the blood colour the longer the lifespan, and as a blueblood Mindfang would natural have a long life. It is unknown how young she was when the Signless had his rebellion, and how old she was when the Summoner killed her.

Created in an ecto lab by Karkat Vantas many years in the future, she was originally sent back to a universe we'll call Troll Universe 1 or TU1 for simplicity. There her name was Aranea Serket, and much the same she was a blueblood with strong psychic abilities with the sign of Scorpio. She was however a bit sweeter, something that came naturally in a much more peaceful Alternia.

Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked Aranea and 11 of her friends played a game called Sgrub. Something went wrong in the game, and with Alternia destroyed with the start of the game there was few options left to them. Unable to find the strength to kill each other or themselves they took the only option left to them. Scratch the game, and begin a new universe, where their race would later play the game, after being in an environment that would help them win it.

And it was into that universe that Mindfang arrived. Crashing onto Alternia she never made her way through the cavern trials, but she still somehow found her way to a lusus. The rest of her wigglerhood was pretty uneventful, passing much like any other.

It was until a few sweeps before her second puptation that something changed. Taken on as a protégé by Doc Scratch her mental capabilities were honed to a higher level than she may have reached natural. However she had and still has little respect for her 'teacher' often referring to him with scorn and sarcasm. When she felt she had learnt enough she stole his all seeing cueball and ran away home.

Returning to Alternia she took to the seas and worked her way up to the top of a ship, through use of cunning and mindcontrol, manipulation and murder. Eventually she became a captain, and it was then she began to make a name for herself.

It was also when she first came to the attention of Orphaner Dualscar, a seadweller devoted to the Empress. Instructed to find and halt her their first meeting ended in a fight and Dualscar being given the scars he was named for. It was also the start of a kismesissitude that would cause huge destruction to the sides of each party. While their hate changed towards the end (with Mindfang growing bored of Dualscar and annoyed that he was turning red for her) it was a near perfect black rom at the start.

She paid little attention to The Signless and his rebellion, spending her time on the seas, building up her ships to a fleet, and granting herself the title of Marquise because 'It sounded nice'. She may have agreed with the idea that blood meant nothing, but there was nothing to gain from the Signless so she let it follow it's natural path into failure. After all, it wasn't her fight.

Her closest contact with the Signless's group was through the Dolorosa, who after her adoptive son's death was sold into slavery and bought by Dualscar. It was on his ship that Mindfang saw her and whether it was was simply to annoy Dualscar or because Dolorosa actually caught her eye, Mindfang stole her and took her as her own slave. Fond of red romances with lowbloods, it didn't take long for Mindfang to begin her wooing of Dolorosa, albiet forcing the relationship through her mental control. Through the time they spent together Mindfang developed some actual red feelings, considering a future with the other female. However, it can be assumed that any feelings The Dolorosa had were created by Mindfang or the result of Stockholm Syndrome.

Stealing his slave and then flaunting her choice of a lowblood over him was the final straw for Dualscar. Killing The Dolorosa, either by his own hands or making sure his sign was left, his kismesissitude with Mindfang fell apart and he turned to the Grand Highblood, handing over sweeps of information about Mindfang and her crimes against the Empire. If he couldn't have her no one could.

Unfortunately doing this resulted in his death. The Orphaner wasn't very good with jokes, and The Highbloods weren't prone to letting bloodcaste be an excuse for no sense of humour. Dualscar was killed, and the Grand Highblood's only action against Mindfang was to send a novice neophyte after her.

Her sources telling her Redglare's coming and having already foreseen when her true death would come lead Mindfang to be cocky. She ignored the possibility of Redglare being a threat and didn't look into her cueball to see the future. In return lost an eye, an arm and had her armada burnt down by the Neophyte and her dragon. She was dragged to trial, but it was there Redglare made her own mistake. Lowbloods were allowed into the stadium where the trial was held, and this gave Mindfang the perfect opportunity.

Using her abilities to control lowbloods she used them to pull Redglare into the stadium, strangling her with the noose meant for Mindfang. The lowbloods got blue blood, of a sort, and Mindfang got freedom. All she had to do was take out his Honourable Tyranny, a fight she look forward too, gloating that the removal of one arm would "permit a fair fight". It's implided that Mindfang slew him, a being at least a hundred times her own size, whilst suffering from blood loss, new blindness in an eye and only own arm.

Free or not, Redglare had destroyed all that Mindfang had, the fleet of ships under Mindfang's control ashes in the sea. But ever an optimist Mindfang shrugged that off, deciding to leave the seas behind and stare towards the skies. Finding Redglare's dragon was an idea she contemplated, before moving on to take care of more pressing issues.

The Expatriate, as she called him, was also known as Darkleer, a blueblood just higher than Mindfang who had disobeyed the orders of a highblood and failed to execute The Disciple. This act had brought forth some admiration from Mindfang, and it was enough to gain help from her in escaping the wrath of the Highbloods and finding a hiding spot. In Mindfang's eyes he owed her a debt for that, and with his skill in robotics it was Darkleer that Mindfang went to to gain her robotic arm.

Her time with Darkleer was spent recounting her tales, and considering what to do next. Again the dragon came to her mind, but with her vision eightfold destroyed Mindfang had no way to ask the cueball of the possibilities. Contemplating a technological method to to mimic her natural eye she eventually rejected the idea, acknowledging that the knowledge of the future came with a price. Her thoughts moved on, to the prophecy of her death and The Summoner.

She made her decision then. Her worst choice may have been to ask the cueball of her death, and to know who would cause it but rather than run from her fate she would meet it with open arms and anticipation. Perhaps through The Summoner she would gain control of Pyralsprite. Either way she decided to leave the cueball with Darkleer and place a map with her journal to it's location with a warning of the damage it could also do. All that was left to do was wait, as she knew that the Summoner's low blood caste would mean many sweeps would pass before his arrival and rise to rebellion.

Not one to simply sit around and brood with Darkleer (for one it would drive her completely insane and not just partially) Mindfang set off, shedding name and sign and becoming The Wanderer, a cloak covered blueblood who very few knew about. That didn't mean she let her true names fade in the wind, The Wanderer making sure all recalled who Marquise Spinneret Mindfang was.

It simply gave her a disguise to use to uncover information that she could later use to aid the Summoner's rebellion. It was a fruitful set of sweeps for her, information wise, and it also allowed her time to repair the damage done by Redglare, and learn how to deal with the changes she now had, with her vision altered. It was a time for personal growth, her attitude still as outwardly cocky as always, but Mindfang paying more attention to details and plans than running on blind luck. It had failed her before after all.

When whispers began to blossom of the rise of the Summoner Mindfang shed her disguise and made her way to his side. Their first meeting was a tense one, but a slow trust began to form between them as the information she gave him proved correct time and time again. And slowly trust began to turn red and they fell into a matespritship. Based in pity, it was a messy relationship, similar to that of the Signless and his Disciple. They were both rough, almost feral trolls, often giving impressions of a kismesis relationship through their physical actions, but he was also one of the few trolls who could calmer her.

Her time with him was an enjoyable one, a final adventure for her. Through him she did gain the skies, and she was reintroduced to Pyralsprite, though the dragon still maintained a hate for Mindfang's hand in Redglare's death. The Summoner was forced to tear dragon and spidertroll apart quite a few times to stop one from killing the other. But Mindfang was happy, even though she was closer to her death than ever. She told the stories of the Signless to the Summoner, and helped him strengthen his rebellion.

Mindfang played a high role in his rebellion but while the Summoner may have trusted her, his followers didn't. She was a blue blood, and the rumours connected with her name didn't help her in gaining trust, even if she hadn't controlled a lowblood since beginning her relationship with the Summoner. It was clear something would happen, either Mindfang would leave or The Summoner's followers would.

It was then Mindfang played a card she had held close to her chest, telling the Summoner of the prophecy of her death. Initially attempting to reject this he came to accept it, and they both knew it was the easiest way to make sure he kept his followers. A plan was made, and a bloody battle was had. And in the end Mindfang found herself on the ground, torso impaled by the Summoner's death, a wound not even she could live through.

And so Marquise Spinneret Mindfang met her death.

CHARACTER
Name: (Hercules) HC-IIIX Tres Iqus
Canon: Trinity Blood
Timeline: Just before Sister Noelle’s death.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality:
Tres is what’s known as a cyborg. A ‘Killing Doll’, or a mostly-mechanical soldier made by Vatican scientist Professor Gepetto Garibaldi as a form of super soldier to be used during war. As a being who is mostly a machine, Tres does not ordinarily show much in the way of emotion. Answering questions that he may be asked with statements such as ‘Positive’ or ‘Negative’. When asking how people are feeling, he instead asks ‘Status report?’ instead of normal, conversational sentences. He comes off as completely cold and detached, as a machine would, in most situations, and therefore it is often hard to discern what he may be thinking or processing at any is given point in time. He is known for following orders with precision no living human could hope to achieve, and his actions are nearly always logical in every way. When speaking and conversing with normal humans or vampires, he does not understand the meaning of ‘tact’, and will quite bluntly state things that ‘normal’ beings would void or use euphemisms for. When faced with a situation that shows someone—an ally, or civilian—doing something that is illogical, he will often question it. Such as when Abel tries to protect a little ‘witch’ girl, despite the Vatican’s order to kill her were she to cause a problem.

‘Killing Dolls’, while mainly made out of mechanical systems, still have human parts within them. This is what keeps them from being entirely cold and mechanical, and it gives them certain emotions that, though often hidden, shine through sometimes. Tres has a human brain stem, and while about 98% of his decisions, deductions and actions are ‘logical,’ he has shown to hiccup and do things that are quite illogical. The very same witch child he had been ordered to, and tried to kill during a mission, he allows to live some time later. Claiming that he was ‘out of bullets’ and therefore could not complete his task. However, moments later, he kills a vampire who tries to attack him, the child, and Abel, using the very same bullets that he had claimed to have run out of. He did not kill her because he had decided she deserved to live.

As he is part organic, Tres often has to take vitamins and mixtures to stay alive. Without them, he does not function well, and has periods in which his body actually shuts down, or lags, not unlike a computer.

Tres has an almost extreme sense of duty. He was a being created to follow orders, and he does not understand the meaning of freedom. He was nearly destroyed by Abel before he became an agent of AX, and when told by Caterina Sforza that he was free to live, he refused. She then offered him a position working at AX, Vatican Special forces, but he also refuses. The idea of having free will being lost on him, he finally agrees to join her by suggesting he be her possession instead. As such, he has joined AX under the codename of Gunslinger, and obeys every command given to him without question or comment. When in Caterina Sforza’s presence, he guards over her almost like a strangely possessive guard dog, and when outside of Rome, he almost seems to pine for her.

Abel states, at least once or twice in the series, that whenever he is away from home he seems almost ‘Grumpy’ or detached because half of him is ‘back home’. His loyalty to her is absolute, and such is clear during a fight with another ‘Kill Doll’. He states that he needs to ‘survive’, and when the other doll states that he ‘is merely a machine’, Tres replies with ‘Negative. I am the Duchess of Milan’s machine.’

CHARACTER
Character Name: Orphaner Dualscar
Canon: Homestuck
Timeline: Post Death.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: This is only to be used if are already playing another character from the canon you are applying for. For example, if you are apping Mario and you already play Princess Peach in the game, how will you handle their interactions without playercesting? Depending on your answer, you may be refused the character you are apping for.

Personality: It’s important to note that while Eridan Ampora is Dualscar’s descendant, that does not necessarily make them the same person. They’ve lived completely different lives and grown differently as characters, but they still share the same core traits. Thanks to a life of inherent superiority, they’ve grown up as haughty, arrogant and elitist characters. However, Dualscar has lived a longer life and has had a substantially longer time to brood over things. As such, his bitterness is deeper set, while Eridan’s is more a façade for the attention of other’s.

Ranking is essential to Dualscar’s life. He finds joy in order and will argue and fight against anyone who tries to undermine his beliefs. He feels uncomfortable when people point out flaws or mistakes and covers his anxiousness with snark and denial. He’s incredibly stubborn when it comes to such things and it’s unlikely that he’ll ever accept facts or opinions that don’t reflect his own. To him, there’s no reason to argue when it should be obvious that he’s right and that’s argument enough to back up any claims he has.

He doesn’t have much of a sense of humour (which doesn’t endear him to the subjuggulators). In fact, he finds jokes bothersome and irritating. This might be because he has a difficult time distinguishing between whether someone is being serious or kidding around and he has little patience for people who aren’t straight forward. It’s embarrassing not to understand them straight away and he takes jibes to himself personally and thus, becomes agitated and cagey. However, he is capable of sarcasm and the occasional grim snark at someone else’s misfortune. The angriest he gets is when he believes he’s being made a mockery of. It’s clear he’s got his share of insecurities to hide despite his social ranking.

While he’s quick to dismiss things that irritate him or opt out of arguments out of frustration, he will brood on it for hours. He has a tendency to dwell on the past and mull over conversations had and conversations he could have. He often invents situations in which he’s conflicted with others, which causes him to both be wary of them and beat them to their inevitable betrayal by snapping first. He’s quick to make assumptions of other’s based upon their blood and appearance and rarely hangs around long enough to discover if they’re true. People close to him are either insanely persistent or simply there because of social eloquence. As such, he’s extremely lonely.

His appearances are important to him, because he wants to reflect a personality that is formidable and powerful. He dresses as someone who is nothing short of proud in regards to his blood colour. He takes a long time to attend to himself and primp himself and loathes being seen in a dishevelled state. He’s early to bed and early to rise and seldom lingers around the company of others unless they give him good reason. That being said, just because he cares for appearance doesn’t make him any less powerful or dangerous. You touch his cape, he will cut a bitch.

In troll society, weaknesses such as prioritising appearance over strength will not get you far. Dualscar is aware of this, and he spends as much time training and preparing for battle as he does getting dressed. He’s a strategist by nature and he’s skilled at formulating practical and successful battle plans. He takes his time to sit back and weigh the odds in his favour, making under handed moves before he strikes and takes all he can from the battle. He’s a ruthless fighter, which is to be expected. His morals are loose, but can we really consider that important when it comes to trolls?

Even if he’s not Mr. Niceguy, he believes in formalities and eloquence. He can either be painfully and almost cruelly concise or long winded and boring when speaking. He has a tendency to drone on when he gets started, garnishing his sentences with an extended vocabulary so as to put on an air of class even when arguing. However, blood colour will determine how he speaks to you. He’s much quicker to snap to a nastier, less formal tone with a low blood than he ever would be with a highblood. When he does snap, he relies heavily on swearing and threats to get his points across.

Perhaps, even by troll standards, he’s a bit of a dick. He expects the most and the best from everyone. He expects mutual feelings from others while he’s burdened by his affections for the Empress. He seldom returns the expectations he sets out of carelessness and selfishness. He becomes possessive of Mindfang and aggressive toward her low blooded interests, all the while aware that he has other flushed interests. He expects total devotion and yet seems to believe he should be able to do as he pleases, it’s within his rights. He’s impatient and wishes for results and answers straight off the bat, he rarely gives things time to settle or grow before he interferes.

He’s haunted by his own weakness and becomes defensive quite quickly; you can pretty much assume he’s always got his little barricade up and about. He seldom talks openly about his emotions as he deems them far too pathetic. If you do point them out, you will need to prepare for the tongue lashing of a lifetime and an inevitable death. Really though, deep down he’s got a romantic soul and he yearns for mutually flushed feelings. He expresses his positive feelings through loyalty and dedication. After all, he kept all he knew about Mindfang hidden up until she wouldn’t return his flushed feelings. One could speculate that those feelings came to be because the pirate grew on him, it’s unlikely that anyone had ever gotten so close to him until he met her and he’d gotten accustomed to the idea of having her around. However, it’s possible he only felt that way out of a need to control and tame her and not out of something pure.

It would appear that he wears his heart on his sleeve, even if he tries to hide his less favourable feelings. Mindfang was well aware of his feelings for the Empress and he did little to hide his jealousy when coming across her and her slave. Once again, he will fiercely deny any accusations and his temper will flare. He’s clearly sensitive and it pains him to know it. While he relies so heavily on social status and power, he’s riddled with self-doubt and insecurities. If a red-rom is what he desires, why should it be so difficult to acquire? It is perhaps his over zealousness in that sense that makes him undesirable as a mate, even if pity is the basis for a relationship.
As well as being a strategist, he’s also a collector by nature. He collects land, treasure, maps and even trolls. He’d had quite bit of land dominated and more than enough treasure under his belt before he learned to scrutinise. He slowly became more judgmental and careful about what he kept, discarding or abandoning things that didn’t seem unique or rare. He’s quite proud of his collection. When he acquired Dolorosa, he viewed her as a rarity and something precious because of her blood, but still treated her as an underling. He was certain Mindfang was out to snatch her from him; he hadn’t figured she would be after the jade blood in a romantic sense. That was a nasty surprise for him.

CHARACTER
Character Name: The Psiioniic
Canon: Homestuck
Timeline: During his service as the Helmsman, but before his death.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Psiioniic is both similar and dissimilar to his descendant (and clone), Sollux. The two are extremely similar, but due to living in different times and in different circumstances, the two have developed differently.

One of the traits he shares with Sollux is duality. He didn’t spend quite as much time over come with self-loathing once he freed himself from bondage, but he was still remarkably temperamental, and it didn’t take much to send him into a fit of rage. Despite these fits, he was still mostly nonviolent, and he did believe that kindness is a good way to rebel. While his snarkiness and snippiness might not have automatically translated to some as kindness, he preferred teasing (not always as gentle as it could be) and playful barbs versus the cloying sweetness of his cohorts. He has a different brand of affection, and he likes it that way.

Not to say he never disliked anyone, and not to say he’s never got upset or depressed. Psiioniic could be overcome with bitterness, and an unbearable amount of anger and rage towards the hierarchy of Alternia, and the oppression faced by so called “low”blood trolls. Sometimes, though the occasions became rarer and rarer, he was so overcome by his loathing and despair he would doubt the success of the rebellion the Signless was leading, and he couldn’t help but dwell on how futile dismantling the caste system seemed to be. He learned how to drag himself out of these bleak moments, due mostly to the kind, yet stern, teachings of the Dolorosa.

He is remarkably stubborn, and was never one to back down from a fight. Of course, not all fights are or were serious, and he didn’t always pick his battles wisely. He would always react poorly to losing, whether it was a fist fight or a battle of wits, and he would spend hours or days sulking over it. (He insisted it wasn’t sulking, but he’d occasionally spend hours imagining how it they should have gone and how it was unfair, so on and so forth.)

While he does snark, and insults and jabs coming to him quite naturally, he’s not really the best at talking about things like gratitude or how he feels (without being sarcastic, at least). He prefers to show affection with things like small gifts or notes. Anything he can leave with the person and then leave without having to see their reaction first hand. He’s not shy, really, just easily flustered and always afraid that people will react negatively to his sincerity. It’s one of the few nasty thoughts that appears for him most often – that everyone secretly hates him and wants him gone. That’s why he’s hesitant to be sincere or kind in the first place, as he believes it will help the pain of losing them be less severe. He’s afraid of losing everyone he holds dear, because it’s always been such a very real possibility. He’s had to prevent himself from becoming close to other slaves, and holding friendships isn’t something he could say he’s very skilled at. He tries, though, even if he doesn’t find himself very successful.

It all didn’t help, though. He lost everyone who mattered to him, and was taken by Her Imperious Condescension. He was locked inside of, and has centuries and millennia of anger and bitterness to get out of his system as soon as possible so he can get back to normal.

History: The Psiioniic was raised a slave, which was common for trolls of his blood color and of his psychic abilities, and for the time he was raised in. He was one of the strongest psychics at the time, but he managed to keep the full extent of his powers unknown to the slave keepers as he worked. The labor was still hard, and his life was still incredibly painful and filled with suffering. After all, he was a yellow blood. There were two castes below him, yes, but there were eight above him. He had to serve them, and his psionic abilities were useful, but they were not the only ones he had. He could hear the voices of the dying sometimes. Not the dead, no, but the voices of those that were well on the way to their graves. It was something he tried to ignore, because his masters didn’t like him pausing in his work to think on the voices he heard.

It wouldn’t be his abilities, or his curses as he would sometimes call them, that would inspire him to escape from his life of bondage. It would be a troll, who wasn’t even on the hemospectrum - a mutant, with blood that was far too red to be natural, and who had no sign. The Signless, or Sufferer as he would later be known to his followers, before being erased from history completely, had radical ideas of equality between bloods, that color should not dictate someone’s worth in society. These ideas were so absurd, and so just plain impossible, that any sane troll should have ignored him. But the Psiioniic was intrigued. He couldn’t deny that freedom and equality were appealing, something that he had longed for, and he escaped from slavery to join the troll without a sign and the jade blood troll who had raised him from grubhood, who was known as the Dolorosa. There was also a green blooded troll called the Disciple, who wrote down all of the Signless’ visions and teachings.

Together, the four trolls travelled Alternia, spreading the Signless’ message of acceptance and equality. Not all trolls were accepting, but some were. They were sparking a rebellion. Alternia was almost on the brink of a revolution. Displeased, the Empress lashed out. The four were captured, and split up. The Signless was publicly tortured and executed, earning the name Sufferer, and the Disciple was to be executed as well, but the executioner showed mercy on her and she fled with the remains of Signless’ clothing. The Dolorosa was sold into slavery. And the Psiioniic went into service for Her Imperious Condescension herself. During his time with the Signless’ group, he proved his power again and again. He caught the attention of the Empress. So instead of going to work for just any other highblood, Her Imperious Condescension chose him to work as her Helmsmen, so he would power her battleship. This made it the fastest in the fleet, and she thanked him by gifting him with life.

He wasn’t supposed to live more than forty or fifty sweeps, and now he’s lived for several hundred as a living spaceship.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Extremely powerful psychic, so he is mentally strong as far as intelligence goes. He can be rather emotionally unstable, and is physically weak compared to other trolls. He is still stronger, or at least more durable, than a human.

Abilities: Psionics – includes telekinesis. He can mentally lift and move very large objects at high speeds with some exertion, power a fully functioning battleship, shoot energy blasts, and hear the voices of those pre-death as a sort of auditory vision/hallucination.

Relationships to Canon Characters: Sollux Captor: Psiioniic’s descendent, and his paradox clone. They are essentially the same person.

The Signless/Sufferer: A troll that led a rebellion for equality. He inspired the Psiioniic to escape from slavery. They travelled and lived together and were extremely close.

The Dolorosa: A friend of the Psiioniic’s, they travelled together with the Signless.

The Disciple: Another close friend. She was in love with the Signless, and travelled with him and the rest of his posse.

Her Imperious Condescension: The empress of Alternia, and bane of Psiioniic’s existence. She is directly or indirectly responsible for the deaths of all of his friends, and grafted him into her ship and extended his life far, far beyond its natural life span.

First Person: Requesting information on location.

Third Person: There is something to say about being about to use your limbs. It’s something people take for granted, he’s sure. Being able to sit down and wiggle your toes and just simple, silly things like that. Things that pretty much anyone can do, but that he hadn’t done in…

He wasn’t even sure how long it had been. He wasn’t sure when sweeps had stopped meaning anything, and time meant nothing anymore. After a while, everything started running together, just a never ending mash of space and flight and pain.

For now, though, he could focus on the little things. Like his toes! He hadn’t seen his toes in so long. He had almost forgotten what toes looked like. He had definitely had forgotten what grass felt like, considering the ship was half-flooded. The Psiioniic – and it was so good to call himself that, because he wasn’t the Helmsman anymore, was he? There was no ship for him to be the helm of, anymore… The Psiioniic curled his toes in the grass, and grinned to himself. He was happy for now. He had gotten over the initial fear and confusion of being in this city with its squishy pink residents.

He had plans today, with these squishy pink residents. Well, these plans were just waiting for one of those residents to come talk to him so he could interrogate them on their way of life, because he found them to be endlessly fascinating.

The most apt explanation of Loki’s character is when Bruce Banner in the recent Avengers film said that his mind was “…a box of cats. You can smell crazy on him.” That is exactly what he is. Crazy and slightly megalomaniac with a healthy sprinkling of daddy issues and sibling envy. Of course finding out that you are not only adopted, but are one of the very creatures your society demonizes and then having your dad fall asleep in the middle of the “You’re adopted, but we still love you” talk probably had something to do with at least 3/4s of that description.

Loki has a long memory and is defiantly the type to hold a grudge. He remembers everything everyone has done to him, real or imagined, and he will eventually get even. This can be a driving force in his schemes. Thor notes in the Avengers that Loki most likely took Eric Selvig not only because of his scientific knowledge, but also because of his friendship with Thor. Thor is the extreme case where we see how far Loki is willing to go to make those he believes have wronged him pay.

Everything he does in the two movies he has appeared in he believes is good and justified. In Thor destroying an entire world was his way of proving to his father that he was a capable son, that he could protect Asgard as well as, if not better, than his brother. When he is trying to take over earth during the Avengers he constantly insists it is for mankind’s good, to save them from themselves. Of course his latent need to one-up Thor also plays into his need to prove he could be a good ruler.

So, while he is not a meaningless malignity, he is far from a good guy. He has no problem tearing down those who get in his way. He will use his talents in magic and his silver tongue to get whatever he needs, pesky morals need not apply. His actions always have motive behind them, even if the motive is ‘It sounded fun’ or ‘Because I wanted to’. As an example, when he is giving a reason for letting the Frost Giants into the weapons vault in Thor he claims that it "was just a bit of fun", citing keeping Thor off the throne as almost an after thought.
There is a chance his more evil intentions could mellow out if someone were able to get through to him that he has little, if nothing to actually be vengeful about, but that would take a very special person who would have to take the time to both win over his trust and also get to a point where he sees them as enough of an equal to take their advice. Loki is prideful, though, and does not accept equals readily (and betters never). While that is hard, earning his trust is even more challenging. A person must show both independence, intelligence, and strength. He does not want to feel like he is having to baby sit those he would tentatively call friends. It is not a simple situation of trusting a person and them trusting you back. No, Loki actually thinks those that trust him to soon are fools, and fools can only serve him in the lowest positions.
