First Person: {Lightning stretches her arms over her head and breathes deep. After slumbering for so long - though it hadn't felt like a long time - she is enjoying being awake. Her dreams... They had felt so real. But, no. This is real. She is awake now and she needs to fulfill a promise she made so long ago.

The only problem is she has no idea where she is. Frowning and shaking her head, she picks up the strange device she had found at her feet and turns it on.}

I need - {No, that's not quite right. Try again.} I would like some answers. My name is Lightning. I was...asleep...for some time. I should be...

On Gran Pulse? {But that doesn't fit with her surroundings. At all.} Nothing looks familiar. I thought I would at least be able to find my way around.

I guess I was wrong. {Those words sting her pride and her tongue.} I'm going to have a look around, but I'll keep this with me. Call my name if you want my attention.

{She then tucks the device into a pocket and begins her search on foot, moving lightly and agilely over the terrain.}

Third Person: Her relief over Serah being freed from her crystal was a mixed feeling. On one hand, she felt like she could finally breathe, but on the other... Serah wasn't her only concern anymore. Fang and Vanille were at the forefront of her mind. They had sacrificed...everything...for this outcome. That had been pretty damn selfless. The least she could do was try to free them, right?

But that could wait. As Lightning held her little sister and assured - and reassured - herself that Serah was whole and in one piece, she forced herself to focus on what she needed to do. Serah deserved an apology. It was time. She had the words on the tip of her tongue...

"We have a wedding to plan."

That was...Snow. Serah was...

Engaged. Closing her eyes with a soft, sad smile, Lightning pulled Serah closer for just a moment, pressing her lips to her sister's forehead. For the first time, she was giving the happy couple her blessing. The moment she released the shorter girl, she knew Serah was no longer only hers. No, her baby sister was growing up. She didn't need a protective big sister anymore.

Oh she was proud, but it hurt like hell too.

That was the way it was supposed to be, right?

Right.
