[OC] Noa Tasi || Original || no reserve || 2 of 4

CHARACTER
Name: Noa Tasi
Age: 28
Appearance:

Noa is a very large Pacific Islander, measuring somewhere around 6'9" and weighing about 250 lbs. A majority of his mass is muscle; he's got broad shoulders and a strong back, built from years of manual labor and hard work. His already dark skin is pretty brown from basically spending all his time in the sun and his hair has gone to a darker brown rather than the usual black because of it. There are three notable things to Noa beyond this: his ears and tail, his prominent facial scarring, and his amputated arm (right). The damage to his face consists of loss of sight in his right eye, the lack of cheek and resulting sight of his teeth and ligaments to the naked eye, and dark scarring all the way down the right side of his face, neck, and shoulder. His right arm is amputated at the shoulder. His arm and face are the result of an accident a few years previous; the ears and tail are also related, but they also link back to physiology. Due to a lack of physical therapy, Noa's muscles did not heal entirely correctly, making shifting out of this form incredibly painful. He can get rid of them or even extend it further, but he tends not to. It hurts like the devil, you know?

Chosen PB: Noa's icons will be illustrated. I have drawn most of them, but there are a couple commissioned by other artists! You can see them here.

Personality:

For all the magic in his world, were-creatures are still pretty rare. Werewolves are, of course, well known (but rarely seen, in all honesty; they’re really only social with each other. Who knew?) but other skin changers are less common. One such example is the were-cat. Were-cats are interesting and complex creatures because they are exactly what they sound like. Cats. And cats, as many of us know, are precocious and strange and also just fucking adorable. Noa is a were-cat. (You might have already figured that out.)

This isn’t the most important aspect to his personality and character, but it is a rather large one. His cat-like qualities are sometimes the biggest deciders in his actions. Cats tend to just- do what they want. And while Noa does have the presence of mind not to be an asshole 90% of the time things…slip. He’s not big on talking about being a were-cat, though. There isn’t a stigma against were-people in his world, but it’s not one of those things you’re really vocal about. Out of sight, out of mind to an extent.

Traits picked up from his more cat like qualities include; a more introverted nature, the occasional bought of pickiness, and the ability to get stuck in awkward and compromising situations. Really. He's got terrible luck.

Beyond that, though, Noa can be very charming. He’s something of a flirt and his day is usually made when he can make a pretty girl laugh or smile. Before the accident, he was quite the ladies man. But these days, he’s much more selective with who he decides to put the charm on. I guess you could say he’s kind of scared of the rejection. He’s well aware that he can look pretty terrifying or disconcerting, whether it be his height, his face, or the sheer amount of muscle mass he’s acquired. The very last thing he wants is to make someone scared or uncomfortable.

While Noa does try and keep his cool, does have a few problems with his anger, however. It used to be more under control, but the never-ending frustration of his situation is enough to just drive the poor man bonkers. He tends to really only get angry when he's alone or when he's scared; the moment he is found lacking in some way due to the results of his accident, he is much more likely to lash out. Asking him to think about it logically doesn't work out very well, really, because he doesn't want peoples logic. He wants to be able to do the things he used to and not feel like he's worthless or lacking purpose in life.
