Third Person: It was difficult for Mitsuru to reconcile herself to the idea that even though her mind and body were gearing up towards the final stretch in the fight for her life, the lives of all living things on the planet, she wasn’t actually going to do that. Nyx wasn’t a factor here. Not even a hint of the goddess of Death could be found. Nor her Appraiser, the entity that called himself Ryoji Mochizuki and claimed to have been born from inside the teen she’d relinquished leadership of the SEES to.
Instead, what she found was her childhood friend, suddenly aged two years ahead of her. Akihiko was different on the surface, but the changes were superficial. He was still the strong, kind, resourceful young man she’d relied on whole-heartedly, whether he actually knew that or not. Arisato was also there, both a male and female version, which was, admittedly, difficult to process for a while. That simply meant she spent the better part of an evening locked in the room given to her, trying to figure out how she felt about a girl she’d never met but thought they were good friends and a boy who barely acknowledged her outside of basic friendship.
Labrys, in comparison, was much easier for her to deal with, considering her relationship with Aigis. The android was intelligent and friendly, open and brash. She… Mitsuru liked her for all of that. Even Satonaka, Hanamura and Narukami were easy to get along with and friendly.
It wasn’t a difficult life. It was just different. And if there was one thing that Mitsuru had learned in the year since she met Arisato Minato, it was that being flexible was better than rigidity. So, she would continue to be fluid and to keep an open mind. Not everything could run smoothly, right?
