CHARACTER
Name: Grimmjow Jeagerjaques
Canon: Bleach
Timeline: Some months after the fight with Ichigo in Las Noches.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality: Grimmjow can be described in a few words. One of which would be prideful. He is very strong, and he knows it, so he carries with him the pride of being a very powerful hollow, as well as a constant chip on his shoulder. Because of his pride, he often seeks out fights with individuals he perceives may possess, or will eventually possess, great power. This is evidenced by his allowing Ichigo to live more than once, after brutally beating him down, and awaiting the moment in which he could fight the substitute Shinigami at his full strength. Grimmjow has expressed a great distaste for fighting against those who do not match up to his standards, as he did by quickly disposing of Rukia Kuchiki and dismissing her as a waste of his time, even after she had encased him in ice.

Being such a prideful creature, Grimmjow is prone to insubordination, such as around his “superior” Kaname Tousen, who he blatantly dislikes, and even Sousuke Aizen. Most of these insubordinations are allowed, to a point. Like an animal, Grimmjow can be subdued by a show of power, as shown by Aizen’s control of him despite his fiery nature. He is not above subversion however, as he is constantly disobeying the stated wishes of the defected Shinigami trio, giving attitude to his perceived superiors such as Ulquiorra Schiffer, and even going so far as to stage an unauthorized invasion and attack of the Human World with his direct subordinates.

Despite all of this, Grimmjow does indeed have a sort of honor code. He does not wish to fight a previously injured opponent. For example, he demanded that Orihime heal Ichigo not because he had any sort of sentimental feelings, but because he wished to defeat him at full power. He will also repay kindnesses, likely out of some wish to keep out of debt, or to accrue other favors. Not that he has to, being as powerful as he is.

Grimmjow is more uncaringly animalistic than any of his fellow Espada ever were, and it shows in his fiery, combative demeanor and the fact that he fights hand to hand, not always with his sword. Even his Resurreccion state is panther-like, as was his previous Adjuchas-class form. Perhaps due in part to this, he is a physical fighter and is wickedly fast, not just due to his use of Sonido, the equivalent to the Shinigami Flash Step. Despite this animalistic nature, he does possess intelligence and tactical prowess, and will not fail to exploit any openings shown to him.

One thing that will always anger Grimmjow, especially now after he’s been so soundly defeated, is being regarded in contempt. Specifically, he hates those who believe they can defeat him no matter how badly he injures them, and he will become obsessed with the idea of wiping that look off their face.

(Because he has not been made reference to, but he has been shown to be alive if not injured right before Aizen’s defeat, this next part is purely headcanon.)

Ever since he was defeated by Ichigo in Las Noches and being one of the only remaining Arrancar after the defeat of Aizen and really, the only Espada, he has since gone about prowling Las Noches and on occasion, devouring hollows. He does not care for feeding on human souls, being what he is. He’s become a little more reserved, but the fiery temper and attitude that he held as an Espada in Aizen’s army has not completely faded.
