Elves are pretty much unchanging when it comes to personalities, but, because Elrond was taken from Arda twice, while he didn't change much (as noted <3) he's now more likely to accept strange races. One example is with his 'aunt' Riley, who while a human teenaged girl, is different enough and is a lot more wild than he's used to dealing with. He's used to his world being taken away, shaken up, stuffed back into it, rinse and repeat.
I think the best example is how he greeted Riley after returning to Asgard for the reunion- he surprised her, and picked her up to spin her around rather than a simple embrace. He respects her because she helped (literally) kick Maglor into healing, and she brings light and mischief into every day life.
