APPLICATIONS
✗ Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
✗ IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.
In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

REVISION REQUESTED
Re: REVISION REQUESTED
~
First Person:
[It was hours ago when he left the train station. Sync explores the city not with curiosity, but with care and wariness. He doesn’t trust other people.
His own death puts him in a strange mood and to be in a strange city with strange folks in these parts, he felt at best very confused and disoriented. He is angry and yet he doesn’t want to make trouble with other people, but he won’t deny that he is quite overwhelmed due to feeling very irritated and cross at his displacement.
After walking for what seem like hours, he sits on a bench at a park, not sure what to do next. He reads the newspaper next, but he finds the newspaper less than helpful. It was then he realizes there is something in his pocket, which is a silver pocketwatch. The pocketwatch is the size of his hand and he pressed the buttons on the side. Voices and pictures came to life and after much trial and error of playing with the device, he figured out it’s a communication device.
He wants answers, but he hesitates to say to other people, ‘I’m supposed to be dead.’ He doesn’t want people to know that he died. Maybe he can pretend to be someone who he’s not for now, just to get the answers he need. So he puts on his mask and he speaks into it. He’s not accustomed to smile at anyone, so his face only expressed curiosity. He tries to act friendly and he finds it to be very hard to feign naïvette.]
Hello? My name is Sync. Does anybody know how to [He hesitates again. What does he want? Go back home?] go back home? [He is not sure if even that is what he desires right now.]
Third Person: It took a long time for Sync to wake up to the sound of the train’s wheels churning on the tracks. He was sleeping in one of the train’s cars, lulled by the sound of the train and the smooth motions of the car. He slept for a very long time because he was dreaming a series of fragments of his memories where he spent his previous life on his home world. When he finally woke up, he recalled little of his dreams, which he regarded disdainfully as ‘stupid memories’.
It took him an hour to be fully awake and during that time, he has difficulty comprehending and contemplating as to why he is alive. He doesn’t believe in the afterlife. He doesn’t believe in the Score and a part of him wanted to deny it’s entire existence. He wished the Score and his entire home world would die together and be completely destroyed into the nothingness. Maybe Van succeeded in fulfilling that dream, but since Sync was the first to go, now he would never know the outcome.
But he is alive. When he pinched himself, it hurts. He wanted to cut his wrist just to see himself bleed and prove that his existence is a real, but it didn’t come to that because the train fully stopped. While he doesn’t want to leave because he thought the train would take him back to his home planet of Aulderant, he felt a mysterious force that pushed him to exit the train. He learned he can’t linger here even if he stubbornly wanted to stay.
Once he stepped through the doors, the door to the train was closed tightly shut. Sync genuinely panicked and became outraged. “No, wait! Open the door! Take me back!” He shouted until his throat was sore from his rage. He pounded his fists on the doors and attempted to smash the windows with his own fists. He was successful in making a small crack on the thick glass and the skin on his knuckles bled with pain.
It was all in vain and he experienced a dull pain in his hands in the chaos of his emotions. The train left swiftly and he sadly watched the train disappeared over the horizon through a thick mist. The conflict is over and he is now lost. As his explored the train station, he spied a poster and a map that indicated that he arrived in Ruby City.
