APPLICATIONS
✗ Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
✗ IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.
In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.
Re: [canon] Vergil | Devil May Cry | Reserved
Yamato
A devil arm once used by his father and gifted to him on his eighth birthday. Used in conjunction with its sheath, in more ways than one. He uses both to attack in the Iaido style, but more importantly, he is able to 'slice the air' with the sword, sending the impact to his opponent. It often seems attacks from Yamato are delayed, more often than not showing the injury taking place after the sword is sheathed. This is actually proof of his incredible speed, Vergil does all this before it can be fully realised by the human eye.
Beowulf
A pair of gauntlets and greaves. They come with 'spikes', or 'claws' on the ends, to pack a more forceful punch (or kick, as the case may be) and is light-based. It's the soul of a demon he defeated, contained within the weapon, though it has no life in itself. This really only means it is embued with the power of the demon.
Devil Trigger
His true demon form. This increases all attributes, though it's something which takes greater concentration and use of demonic energy(basically MP). His Devil Trigger is somewhat different depending on the chosen weapon, but it's really just an extreme power up in any case. For a half-demon, it's too difficult to hold for a long period of time. It releases their full demonic potential, though at the cost of exertion. On the other hand, it does restore health, so the loss of energy can be very much worth it. It also basically makes him move at the speed of sound. Okay not that fast, but it's like someone hit fastforward.
Nelo Angelo is a corrupted and permanent Devil Trigger under Mundus' control. It can be assumed to have left him when he died, and was discarded by Mundus.
Force Edge
This sword, man. It's basically all of Sparda's demon power put into a sword, so suffice to say, it's pretty strong. All the badguys want it. It also happened to be part of the seal to the demon world. In DMC3 at least, in DMC4 it was Yamato, but Capcom+DMC+timelines=clusterfuck of contradictions, so sometimes we just pretend things didn't happen. When using the Force Edge, Vergil still uses Yamato as well, it replaces the sheath to fight with TWO DAMN SWORDS.
Summoned Swords
Personally I think they look like the Force Edge, but DMC4 has them associated with the Yamato in that they're able to be summoned when Yamato is in use. And then there's DMC1 where Nelo Angelo uses them while having access to neither. So I guess they're just a thing Vergil can do somehow. Either way, they're phantom swords which can be shot at enemies or circle around Vergil to be used as a sort of barrier. Like Devil Trigger, using them as a barrier takes up demonic energy/MP.
Zweihander
Seems to act like Dante's Rebellion for the most part. Big ol' two-hander. Not a lot to say here. It's not
In addition, as he is a demon, if only half, his strength, speed and natural healing powers are incredible. Even while Dante is considered to be incredibly talented and powerful, Vergil is generally considered to be the better swordsman and more trained of the two. He beats Dante two out of three times, after all. He is noted to have particular skill in appearing to teleport from his great speed. Though never shown with Vergil himself, Dante is time and time again run through with his own sword (like, it's a running joke, it happens 24/7 and he just pulls himself right off it), or shot between the eyes (digs it on out of there and keeps having a conversation), as they're twins, it isn't any stretch at all to assume Vergil is just the same.
As far as what he would have on him coming in, just the zweihander and Beowulf for physical weapons, along with his abilities, of course.
