EVENT: Trousers of Time
On Friday, June 23, Ruby City is going to be party to yet another weird happening. This one, though, is a little more expansive than previous events have been. Your lucky characters are going to have access to other worlds! At least for a little while.
ICly, the Trousers of Time event will start not with a bang but with a whimper--or rather a strange coincidence. Sometime the morning of the 23rd, your character will open a door to somewhere totally normal, like the bathroom, and find themselves staring into a portal. Unfortunately, they've already put one foot forward, so . . . guess they're falling through!
They'll find themselves in one of the worlds that once was the home of a character in Ruby City. For example, someone in the Tolkien cast might end up in Night Vale! Yikes. These portals, or Tears, will only remain open for a short amount of time, the duration of which can be anything from minutes to hours at player discretion. Your character will be yanked back to Ruby City when the Tear closes, so there's no danger of being left behind.
They can, however, bounce back to Ruby City with items from the worlds they've visited! Up to three new items, in fact, and that includes weapons--anything that's not gamebreaking. You're welcome to include items your characters would have deliberately picked up while in other worlds, as well as items they wouldn't have chosen but you OOCly want them to have.
Speaking of OOC, here's how this event works on a player level! Obviously every player won't be familiar with every canon in the game. As such, please fill out the form below to give your fellow players a brief description of your character's world as well as some ideas on how to play around in them. We strongly encourage plotting on this post! If you have canonmates and they get to the world description first, feel free to add your thoughts.
Don't be shy of asking your fellow players further questions. In addition, don't feel you have to get other people's canons perfect--just have fun with the information you have and have fun worldhopping!

World Name: Earth - United States - Alaska
Canon description in ten words or less: Outskirts of Alaska in the middle of nowhere.
Technology level: USA 2006, though it is Alaska, so cell and internet service are pretty slim. Many of the houses are powered solely by generator.
Wildlife: Typical Alaskan wildlife. Bears, moose, various birds and small woodland creatures.
Sentient species: Humans and the occasional Daimon.
What might daily life be like for those in this world? People engage in a lot of outdoor sports, but life is pretty solitary since there's such a small population and it's really out in the middle of nowhere. Other than that, a basic present day life for the most part.
What might a character entering this world encounter first? A blizzard. Other than that it depends if you end up in the small town or out by Zarek's home, which is in the woods a good 30 miles from town.
What might a character encounter while exploring? The town has a very small population, but there are some shops there. Otherwise it's basically woodlands. There are a few houses or hunting shacks out in the woods though.
What dangers might a character encounter? Bears are a real threat. There are also quite a few hunters, though they're typical humans.
Other important details: This is a pretty desolate areas where your only options of travel are likely to be walking (if the snow isn't too deep) or by snow machine.
Canon Name: Dark Hunter
World Name: Olympus
Canon description in ten words or less: Literally the Greek Mount Olympus, home of the gods.
Technology level: Most of the "technology" is more "magic." You won't find any televisions or computers or things like that there.
Wildlife: Stags, Artemis' golden cows, perhaps a few other animals.
Sentient species: The Greek gods all live here. You might also find a few demi-gods, dream hunters, nymphs, and oracles.
What might daily life be like for those in this world? There are quite a few huge parties meant to cater to some god's massive ego. Many of the gods simply hang out in their palaces with their servants, however.
What might a character entering this world encounter first? A huge variety of palaces/temples spread across rolling hills. Running across some deity or another is likely.
What might a character encounter while exploring? Any of the greek gods are likely to be there, and if they aren't their temples still will be. Parties are common. Occasionally one might find a group looking through sfora (magic orbs basically) to see into the human realm.
What dangers might a character encounter? Running into one of the gods might not be the best idea. Given a character isn't likely to be recognized, they'd be viewed as an intruder by most. This could easily lead to torture, enslavement, or being brought before Zeus... which would be bad.
Other important details: In Dark Hunter, not many of the main Greek gods are nice. They're pretty much arrogant asses who act like petty children and have very quick tempers with little restraint.
