A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

CHARACTER
Name: Hyperion Crius.
Age: 27 years old.
Appearance: Standing at 1.85m (6'0") tall, Hyperion has a relatively broad but not overpowering stature, long legged, carrying himself slowly but swiftly. Dark eyes and light hair, Hyperion gives his appearance only the attention it ultimately needs, often seen unshaven with messy hair. Hooded jackets and jeans are a constant, gloves and cigarettes kept in his pockets, all comfortable but slim in order to leave as little trace behind. His speech is paced, unconcerned and approachable, often using his hands to entertain himself idly.

Chosen PB:

Played by Ryan Gosling as seen in Blue Valentine.

Personality: Tall, lean but muscled, Hyperion's presence can be imposing or welcoming, depending on the mood. There are some changes from the man he used to be, humble, kept to himself and easy to get along with, and not always the brightest crayon in the box. With a hint of a smirk in his lips and heavy thoughts behind his eyes, Hyperion generally presents himself as a calm, collected but friendly man, polite enough to keep a conversation going with a hint of humor. His opinion and help is easily offered, but his true intentions are often concealed. He is a man that believes nothing is entirely lost, nothing is set in stone and he lives his life according to such.

The relationship with his family - namely his siblings - plays a very important, if currently secondary, role in his life. Apollo was the brother he considered an equal, even felt protective towards, despite his position as the leader in the group of superheroes battling against Helios. The latter was once someone Hyperion looked up to, being the oldest and the most collected of the triplets, the most likely to succeed in whichever endeavor he decided to pursuit. To the most part that turned out to be true, but unfortunately in all the wrong ways. Hyperion now lives his life trying the most to avoid those aspects of his life, to be his own person, away from his past and from the reputation that sometimes still follows him around. He thrives in being inconspicuous, wants no more than to be the person you know but don't necessarily remember. Whatever he once had with or against his brothers is now behind him, a past that still sort of haunts him when he allows it - or least expects it - to. His past is a story he doesn't share with ease.

Keeping his hands to himself and his eyes distant, Hyperion prefers to be conversing with one person at a time, to know about them, be it their hopes and dreams or weakest points. He doesn't necessarily struggle in group situations, simply finds himself naturally avoiding them in order to have an easier time keeping his secrets to himself. He reacts with supposed indifference to antagonism, though it'd be incorrect to say he can't be upset, and tries to maintain himself neutral in conflict. Neutrality would be the word that best describes Hyperion, in fact - he lives to serve his interests above all else, strives to keep himself safe and trusts that no one else can do that job for him. Even in his days as a superhero he kept to himself during missions, for the most part, and was a quiet, if approachable contribution to the team. The less involved he has to be, the better.

World Information: Simply put, Hyperion hails from a universe very much like our own, but populated by superheroes and villains with their respective, secret alter-egos, in the same vein of the Marvel and DC universes. Super powers are discovered by accident, for the most part, and both prejudice and privilege is reserved to those who make use of them.

History: Youngest of the Crius triplets, Hyperion was born into a humble household, his parents struggling physically and financially to keep up with their recently grown family. The boys were raised to the best of their capabilities, and all three were rather fond of each other, despite rapidly differing personalities. Helios, the first-born, was the most outgoing of the three, the one who could gather a crowd and keep it entertained with the most ease; Apollo would become a bit of a hermit, more interested in gathering knowledge and finding new flavors to eat than socializing; finally, Hyperion was neither here nor there, easy-going and simply happy to follow the crowd and contribute with his own opinion whenever he felt prompted.

Growing up in their world's circumstances proved to give them considerably unremarkable lives, up to a point. Then each in his own time discovered he had an unique ability, and things obviously began to change within the household. Helios was gifted with the ability to control technology; Apollo was an extraordinary finder and keeper of knowledge, and Hyperion could maneuver around the laws of present time.

They were still given a proper education, encouraged to have normal lives, but Helios turned out to be the most dissatisfied with these arrangements. He took it upon himself to lead a strike out and bend the rules, ultimately breaking the law. This caused him to become an outsider, namely with his family and brothers, and his psyche quickly started to give way to something more sinister. By the time Helios disappeared he'd already become a supervillain.

The family was heartbroken - most of all Apollo. If he'd ever had ambitions in his life before, he gradually became obsessed with the loss of his brother and the idea that he could - had to - be brought back. One year after his disappearance Apollo had gathered a group of superheroes not-so-secretly hoping to go after Helios and thwart his ongoing plans. Hyperion was asked to join, believing there either had to be some other way to to bring Helios back - not just to their home, but to the same person he used to be - or none at all. Reluctantly he agreed, and a superhero persona was invented to aid him in the process.

Hyperion's career as a superhero was, unfortunately, not very brilliant. He had a helpful skill and the necessary strength, though his low resources and dependence on Apollo to manage their strategies slowed him down. The operation they organized together had the one and only intent of bringing back Helios, blindly hopeful that they'd succeed if they kept at it long enough. That's what Hyperion believed, anyway. There had to be a solution - they simply hadn't found it yet.

Hyperion followed a trail of destruction and blood left behind by Helios, enslaved by technology, and bent on enslaving humanity to serve it in kind. The more he looked the less he liked what he found, until the ensuing heartbreak of cynicism posed as reasons strong enough to make him give up. A long, long time and many, many struggles later, Hyperion finally confronted Helios.

Their encounters proved to be fruitless - Helios saw no match in Hyperion, but he had no interest in confronting him either. The winner between them would be quickly decided, after all. The more Helios fled from Hyperion's reach, the more desperate he became - until they finally fought.

The struggle was violent, too soon to end without blood. Hyperion came out of it alive, but in no way triumphant, having lost one of his fingers on top of everything else. This was when Hyperion gave up completely and left Apollo's group to become a civilian. Homeless and aimless, Hyperion decided to put his skills to use in order to survive on his own with enough money on the side, taking small jobs in robbing jewelry. Twenty-seven years old, Hyperion now belongs to neither side of the law and seems to be running from both, trying at the same time to escape his brothers' reputations and the same one he has now left behind.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Hyperion is quite skilled with his power and has long ago arranged the means to use it to his advantage to make a living, though he doesn't necessarily make the most intelligent or helpful use of his powers. He is very self-serving, which can be an advantage or a detriment, depending.

With slight physical enhancements, Hyperion is still very vulnerable to wounds and disease. Maneuvering in the areas of affected time is, for the most part, his best attack and defense.

Abilities: Hyperion has the ability to slow down time in limited areas through touch. This effect would make it seem as through his environment and the people in it are completely frozen still while he maneuvers freely and undetected.

First Person: [The camera shifts like the settings are still being tampered with, its user still clearly giving the framing a proper composition of his face and shoulders.]

Nice day we're having today. [He waves, briefly, two fingers barely shaping a salute over his temple. (A finger is missing from that hand, tucked next to the pinkie, to those playing close attention. He doesn't seem to mind it whether you do or not.)] Don't mean to bother any of you fine people, but this place doesn't exactly come with a pamphlet. I feel like I've been shipped to a theme park in Florida - [one disarming palm, coming up,] No offense. Or something. [Followed by a frown. Was that really insulting? More importantly, does he care?

Nope. Moving on.]
Anyway, it's not like I don't plan on doing some exploring of my own, but some pointers would be pretty damn great. Places to see, things to do, which food to eat. [Tilting his head with arched brows,] Which food to avoid. That kinda stuff. Just as I try to get acquainted and all.

Many thanks. And a good day to you, whoever you are.

Third Person: He flipped the amulet between his fingers, breathing through his lips with neither exhaustion nor exasperation. Pure boredom ran through his lungs and mind, head reclined on the seat of the train, droplets of rain calling for his attention with small, insignificant thuds against the window. His attention was won successfully, if briefly, lids blinking lazily at the landscape soaring past him, green shapes cast against the dull sky, and he waited. What he was waiting for was shapeless, unnamed, something he'd only know when it came to be, much like the amulet in his hand.

It didn't belong to him. It didn't belong to anyone he'd met, and would probably remain a valuable object taken from someone he never would. It was just one of those things he'd stumble into, be it on the busy streets, be it inside an empty home. Hyperion was sure some kind of meaning was to be considered in the shape of the inscription, an ornament meant to be more feminine than exactly significant. Most likely it had been a gift from someone with good taste but poor imagination.

He didn't consider it stolen. To steal you had to have an intent, an idea of what you'd do with the thing - keep it and make it your own, sell it and make a small fortune, dump it to find something better, whatever. Things like this were something that remained in a sort of limbo, however; it was neither his nor the world's to have, it was just a shape swinging around his fingers, back and forth, swaying in its own rhythm.

The train came to stop, and the sky outside ceased its cry for attention. Something else entirely had it now, something lost between buildings and roads displayed outside the carriage, waiting to be explored, by him and no one else, or so his instinct had suddenly decided. The pull to get on his feet and leave was sudden but subtle, discreetly leading him on until the train was long gone and his chance to give the amulet back to the world had left with it.

CHARACTER
Name: Discord
Canon: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Timeline: Sometime after the Return of Harmony episodes, but before his reappearance in Keep Calm and Flutter On. aka Trapped in Stone Time: The sequel.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: Not applicable~

Personality: Discord’s personality matches his name, it’s as simple as that! He’s the spirit of disharmony personified in a form more akin to a chimera than an actual pony like the rest of the denizens of Equestria. Cheerilee describes his statue in the first episode of Season 2 as that of a draconequus, and goes on to explain that a draconequus is a creature with the head of a pony and the body made up of lots of other things. For the most part, Discord has a draconic appearance. However, he sports a lion paw as a right hand and an eagle claw as a left hand, one deer and one goat antler, a hooved leg and a clawed foot, a Pegasus wing and a batlike wing…even his pupils aren’t the same size, and he has one long fang protruding from one side of his elongated but still somewhat ponylike face.

Princess Celestia explains that before Discord was encased in stone, preceding the events of the first episode he appears in, he caused strife and disharmony for the denizens of all Equestria, Earth Ponies, Pegasi and Unicorns alike, until she and her sister Princess Luna were able to seal him away with the Elements of Harmony. Because the Elements no longer reside under their power, the spell that held Discord was broken, freeing him from his stony prison.

Upon being freed, Discord quickly began to wreak havoc on Ponyville, causing cotton candy clouds to rain chocolate milk upon the town and making the corn fields at Sweet Apple Acres erupt into bursts of popcorn.

These phenomenon show Discord’s ability to control nature and bend it to his will, even reverse the natural order of things by exerting his chaotic influence upon them. He’s even able to raise and lower the sun in erratic intervals and engages in increasingly ridiculous behavior, including drinking the glass around his chocolate milk and tossing the form-holding liquid back, only for it to explode.

In addition to his control over phenomena, Discord has both a cunning mind and the twisted sense of humor needed to fuel it. He’s fond of riddles, and even insists that he will only allow the main characters a chance to retrieve the Elements of Harmony so long as they solve his riddle and play his games by his twisted rules. He’s not above cheating either. This is where his silver tongue comes in, for Discord has a way of, while manipulating the surroundings of his enemies with illusions, also using his words to strike at their insecurities and bring disharmony to an otherwise cooperative group of friends. He prefers to use his wiles in order to manipulate others, either by forcing them to do the opposite of what they would do (Causing Applejack, whose Element of Harmony is Honesty, to lie), poking at insecurities (Insisting that Pinkie Pie’s friends don’t laugh with her, but at her and estranging her from her Element, Laughter), magnifying flaws (preying on Rarity’s love of gems by making her hallucinate that a boulder is actually a giant diamond and invalidating her Element of Generosity), or taking advantage of them with unfair choices (Telling Rainbow Dash that Cloudsdale would fall to ruin if she stayed with her friends to break her Element of Loyalty). He becomes frustrated when he can’t use his cunning linguistics against his enemies, and expresses it when he can’t strike Fluttershy’s insecurities. He instead alters her forcibly, and seems displeased that he had to do things that way.

When he feels like he’s at an advantage, Discord tends to become derisive and haughty, and doesn’t believe that he can be overcome. Even when he’s faced by the main characters after their bonds of friendship have been renewed, he doesn’t take their threats seriously, which ultimately leads to his imprisonment in stone once more.

((NOTE: Because of how his magic affects things around him, I’m perfectly alright with his abilities being dampened! I respectfully request the ability for him to affect things to a very small scale however, such as affecting himself or creating illusions that may affect someone within extremely close proximity to him. But even if he can do that, his magic would be limited and he would become tired from overuse, which never occurs in the show.))

CHARACTER
Name: Conrad Dillon Achenleck
Canon: Hanna is Not a Boy's Name
Timeline: Sometime between when he was turned and the showdown at Tibenoch's place.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality: First impressions of Conrad would lend one to believe that he's an artsy guy and not only quite possibly the worst vampire in the world, but that he's uppity, irritable, and that his temper has a very short fuse. Those impressions would be entirely correct. He's almost always high-strung and chronically disgruntled and his temper can be triggered by some of the most inane things. It's not unusual for him to rant to himself in the background and people just tend to tune him out, which he doesn't always seem to notice at first.

Conrad hasn't always been this way though. Underneath the moody and catty attitude, Conrad actually has a hard time being anything but a genuinely nice guy. He's almost all bark and, perhaps unsurprisingly, is somewhat of a clusterfuck of anxieties and neurosis that he just can't seem to kick.
When he was a kid he was a complete pushover who eventually got sick bending over backwards for people and getting walked all over. But by being assholish and standoffish now he thinks that he can trick people into not messing with him and thinking that he's a tough guy. (He's not.)

Despite his somewhat mixed up personality, Conrad usually does his best to be a good person. That Rude Dude attitude is pretty flimsy, especially when confronted with certain situations that are mentally stressful. He doesn't handle stress very well and he gets fidgety and generally more fussy and irritable than usual when he's stressed.
Change is one of many things that shakes up his nerves and while he can usually adapt fairly quickly, he still isn't fond of it. Any time he feels like he's out of his element (which is often) it's much more likely that he'll lose his temper or at the very least snap at someone.

When he gets angry it's mostly noise and hot air but if antagonized and pushed enough, he will throw a punch and has broken a good number of noses that way. Just ask Doc Worth.

First Person:
[It takes a moment for him to realize that the light trying to wake him up is not, in fact, the sun filtering in through the window, but his communicator, left open on his desk, trying to alert him to a message.]

Hrrmmgghhh... How the hell does this thing even...?

[He prods at it a little and after a bit of trial and error he figures out how to bring up the message, which he grabs his glasses only briefly to read. Figures it would be from Hanna. At the most obscene hour of the morning.]

Dammit, Hanna... You have the worst timing.

[He drops the weird little communicator thing with the message from his weird little friend onto his desk and lays his head back down with a disgruntled huff. Then he squeezes his eyes shut, hoping to get back to sleep before anything else can distract him. Sorry, Hanna, he's just not interested in shenanigans right now.]

Third Person:
Conrad hadn't intended to fall asleep on the bus. It just kind of happened. He'd been exhausted after a very long, excruciatingly frustrating meeting with a potential client - someone more finicky than he was who wanted him to design their business logo - and all during what was quite possibly the worst week of his life. Just a few days prior he'd been turned into a vampire through a series of unappreciated hijinks and he was still trying to get used to the change. His very trying day lead to his little nap on the bus. When he got on, he took a seat near the back, curled up with his bag in his lap and dozed with his head against the window.

It had been sometime in the late evening then.

When he woke up it was to very unfamiliar, and vastly different, surroundings. A lush green countryside was flashing past the window and the early morning sunlight glittered off the dewy grass. There were hills and valleys, a forest, even a mountain range in the far distance. Conrad realized very quickly that he was not in the city anymore, but it took a moment for the peaceful scene to really become unsettling.

Panic started to rise when he realized he was the only one on the train and just as he stood up, the train began to slow down with a sharp whistle. A station was coming into view - old, but clearly very well used - and he quickly grabbed his bag off the seat he'd apparently been asleep in and made for the doors, no doubt a little more than just slightly spooked by the situation. This was already tangling up his nerves but more unsettling than waking up on a train alone was the collection of posters on the station wall, some of which were in languages he was almost positive did not exist. (More unsettling than even that was how he felt so weirdly compelled to enter the city and not just wait for another train.)

"What the...? Where the hell...?" He turned around, trying to swallow his building anxiety as he glanced over his surroundings again. This place looked like some kind of forgotten kingdom in the middle of the English countryside but it gave him some seriously unpleasant vibes. He felt the little hairs on the back of his neck prickle and put a hand over them to smooth away the tingles, then gripped the strap of his bag tightly in both hands and took a few deep breaths. He had no biological need to breathe, but it was still calming.
"Okay. Okay, this isn't... This isn't too bad. Right? I can just go inside and-and get a ticket back home. Yeah. Okay. Everything is cool." Trying to rationalize all of this did nothing to help, but it didn't hurt either. He decided to stick with his plan. Maybe he could find a way out of this Ruby City place.

CHARACTER
Name: Karkat Vantas
Canon: Homestuck
Timeline: A6I5
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality: Calling Karkat crabby would be the understatement of the century. He doesn't smile much and he'll argue with anyone over anything, no matter how big or small the issue, and usually by being an insulting little asshole and supporting his side with seemingly empty logic. He loses his temper often and can be extremely impatient, especially when he has to explain himself. There's not a single person in paradox space that hates Karkat more than Karkat himself, and he won't hesitate to remind someone if that if he has to, usually in the form of arguing relentlessly with his past or future self, sometimes even both, for what seems like hours.

Karkat can be a bit arrogant and is known for being extremely volatile, as well as ruthlessly ambitious, but all of this tends to make him reckless, as he will jump at any opportunity to one-up someone else on the playing field. This recklessness makes him unlucky in a lot of his pursuits and so he often winds up with less than what he started with, which provides a decent enough excuse to do an extravagant pirouette right off the fucking handle.

Despite his abrasive attitude he does genuinely care for his friends and will give them some pretty sound advice if they need it (or just need to hear it). In the past he's helped both Eridan and Tavros with their relationship problems, and he seems to be fairly well-versed in the subject, largely due to his fondness for troll romance novels.
He does seem to have a softer side, but getting him to show it is kind of like bathing a cat; If you don't end up with claws in your face, you might actually succeed in getting to see him being nice - maybe even gentle. (Both of which are rare occurrences and should be treasured and quite possibly recorded for posterity.)

He's not quite a flawless natural leader, but he managed to shepherd his idiot friends fairly well through a universe-altering game - though of course not without a few explosive temper tantrums along the way. They came out the other side a little worse for wear and definitely a few heads short, but we don't really talk about that now.
Being a "leader" for Karkat usually entails yelling at people when things don't go according to plan or just kind of standing there in dumb shock until the last possible second.

First Person:
PRAISE BE TO THE DROOLING MORON WHO DESIGNED THIS PIECE OF SHIT. IT TOOK ME THREE HOURS TO GET *THIS* FAR, SO IN CASE IT'S NO INCONVENIENCE TO ANYONE OUT THERE, NOT THAT I PARTICULARLY GIVE A WILD RACKETING FUCK, I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT I AM DREAMING, BECAUSE WHILE I'D *LOVE* TO STICK AROUND AND PLAY MYSTERY MORON THEATER IN THIS ADMITTEDLY STUNNING EXAMPLE OF ANCIENT ARCHITECTURE, I HAPPEN TO HAVE SOME EXTREMELY IMPORTANT SHIT THAT I SHOULD BE ATTENDING TO INSTEAD.
SERIOUSLY, THIS IS OF DIRE FUCKING IMPORT.
...WOW SHIT, HIT SEND NEXT TIME, ASSHOLE.

[He just wants to throw the stupid watch thing but he wants to wait and figure out whether or not any of this is real. Granted, he doesn't dream anymore, but weirder shit has happened in the past and he wants to cover all his bases before he throws a fit about everything.
Which isn't to say one isn't already brewing. That weird train thing vanished right into thin fucking air and he doubts he'd be able to re-board anyway. This is all just stupid and frustrating and before really even thinking about it, he just leaves the station and enters the city. Might as well scope things out while he waits for a response.]

Third Person:
First thing he knew he was waking up with a start on the floor of some kind of transportation thing. Next was that he was somewhere extremely strange that sure as fuck was not a meteor being hurtled psionically through space. Clumsily he got to his feet and climbed onto one of the slightly uncomfortable seats nearby to peer out the window at the rolling hills and warm, gleaming sunlight going by. Gross.

After what seemed like an entire solar sweep of train riding, he's dumped off at an empty station. Well, not really dumped - that would've been less spooky. At first he was content to stay curled up where he was, scowling at the landscape, but some unseen force compelled him to leave the train.
So he did. And now he was here, standing dazedly in the shade and wondering what to do next.

He looked around, bewildered at this bizarre, kind of alien place and took a few uneasy, distracted steps over closer to a wall that was covered in tacky posters.
"Ruby City? The fuck." Karkat could safely say he had never heard of such a place.
The posters seemed to go over a few simple, apparently necessary, things and that, predictably, did little to answer his questions.
So he huffed, stuck his hands into his pockets and felt something other than his crabwatch. Karkat pulled the object out and frowned inquisitively as he held it up closer to the light to examine it. It looked like an old pocket watch or something, made of dark grey metal. "Tch, obviously when you get stranded in the middle of nowhere, the first thing everyone's going to need is going to be a fucking. Pocket watch. Hhgh, this is unbelievable." He had people to meet up with and a time-traveling, universe-destroying megademon to deal with and he just did not have time to be fucking around in weird pocket dimensions, or whatever the hell this was.

"Goddammit." Karkat pocketed the device and entered the city with a disgruntled huff. Maybe someone inside could tell him where the hell he was.

CHARACTER
Character Name: Emma Overland
Canon: Rise of the Guardians
Timeline: Just when Jack falls through the ice
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:

Emma is still a young and youth girl, full of life, love and innocent curiosity. She loves to spend time with her brother but hates his tricks. Despite all that though, she trusts him. Especially at the most important time to them both. And because she’s so young, she hasn’t lost her belief in certain figures and wouldn’t be difficult if someone tried to get her believe.

She loves having fun and playing, her scenes showing her laughing and clapping while watching her brother mess around with fake horns, hanging upside down in a tree and excitedly pulling him along on the fateful ice skating trip. And, like any child, she’s very trusting and that can be both a good and bad thing since children aren’t very good judges of character. In addition is the complete lack of fear that she and most other children exhibit, jumping into any activity that looks entertaining. She’s not completely fearless though, nobody is and that’s true with her. We see that in Jack’s memories when she tells him that she’s afraid as the ice cracks.

This event has caused her to develop a fear of ice skating and going over frozen water. Every time that she sees it, she can’t help but think of Jack falling into the water and not coming out. While people grow out of fears and overcome them, this is one that will stick with her.

Emma enjoys having fun, which I mentioned earlier but I’ll expand on here. Having fun is one of the ways her brother can get her to do most things, including his way of saving her by turning the cracking ice into a game of hopscotch. This also shows that she can be forgiving, due to their dialogue:

Jack: “Would I trick you?”
Emma: “Yes! You always play tricks!”

And he assures her that he won’t this time and makes it a game. It shows that she’s willing to forgive people, give them another chance (probably more chances than they deserve) and trust them.

In addition, Emma is very well-behaved. Children from her time had to be, they were raised to be honest god-fearing people and to know what duties their life would entail. She does everything she’s told to when she’s told to and never disobeys the rules set down by her parents and other elders. This shows that she’s fairly skilled as well since children, young girls specifically, in colonial times were expected to help their mothers with housework. So Emma can cook, sew, churn butter and other necessary chores that were expected of women at the time. Perhaps not as well as other people but she can.

Lastly, since she’s still quite young, she’s very open to learning new things and much more easily than teenagers or adults. Overall, she’s a young and impressionable little girl, very innocent and easily trusting who loves to have fun with her brother and friends.

History:

Emma and Jack both come from the town of Burgess, 300 years before the movie starts. She was born during the settling of the United States and to a pair of unnamed parents who appeared to have a low position in the towns society. It was a small colonial settlement surrounded by woods and with a lake nearby. There were plenty of children Emma’s age, few that appeared Jack’s age, so she had plenty of chances to make friends and go to play with them as she grew up. Their family was not aristocratic as aristocrats tended not to settle permanently and the similar character designs for Jamie, his sister and Emma lead to the implication that Jamie is one of Emma’s descendants.

Emma was Jack’s younger sister, a very cheerful and naïve little girl who looked up to her big brother like any kid. They were raised well despite Jack’s love for mischief. Emma was always happy in the briefs scenes she appeared in and always appeared to be having fun.

From the movies screencaps, it appears that Burgess is in the vicinity of West Virginia, closer off to Ohio, further west than the Plymouth or London Company had been able to reach. Which implies that it was one of the proprietary colonies, which had greater civil and religious liberties. Even so, she lived there during a religious awakening among the colonies and at the time, basic education in literacy and numeracy was widely available so that they could read the bible. Both boys and girls attended the elementary schools (though sometimes at different hours or different seasons), and there they learned to read, write, and cipher. So Emma has some ability to read and write but her skills are not the greatest due to her families social standing and how young she is. This is something that she may be encouraged to continue in the game.

So, like all of the colonial settlements, it had very distinctive social, religious, political and economic styles.

Emma helped her mother, each day when she wasn‘t at school, with whatever tasks were expected of women at that time. Since there’s no indication of what kind of settlers they were, Puritan or otherwise, there’s no way to be sure if she helped with housework, farming or something else but she likely did learn how to spin yarn from wool and knitting sweaters and stockings, making candles and soap from ashes, and churning milk into butter.

The death of Jack took quite a toll on Emma and for awhile, she wasn’t the same happy and outgoing little girl she had been before that. It took awhile for her family and friends to get her to open up again and ever then, she was never quite the same as she had been. She avoided the lake unless she went to leave flowers there for Jack, which she did every year on his birthday and the anniversary of his death.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: Believes in most anything, excitable spirit, butter churning, wool spinning, sewing to a degree, general cooking, etc.

Weaknesses: Easily convinced to do things when promised fun, a paralyzing fear of ice skating.

Abilities: Believing in Guardians.

Relationships to Canon Characters: Jack Frost is her much much much older brother.

First Person:

Test-Drive Meme.

Third Person:

Emma was focused, completely focused really, on her current task. In her hand was a sewing needle and in the other, string. And the task she was so focused on was threading it. Normally this would be easy but the lights were dimmed so that she didn’t wake anyone up or alert them to her being awake before she was finished. Nearby was small bundle of fabric which, unfolded, would reveal that it was a shirt. A shirt that was carefully sewn by the hands of a child, her skill level obvious as some points but it, at least, resembled a shirt. There were a couple of others, already finished, nearby as well but this one was special. This one was for her brother. So the care she had taken in making it was noticeable. Not to say that her others were carefully done as well.

It took a few minutes more, lots of sighing and almost giving up but she threaded it before grabbing the shirt and starting to work. Normally Emma managed to sleep at a decent time and slept normal hours but this was the best time to do something sneaky. Silver thread started to make the pattern (and it had taken her awhile to find silver thread,) of a child’s render of a forest. Over and over again she sewed until it covered most of the front of the shirt and then she knotted it and clipped the string to rethread her needle. And then she added a moon.

Task completed, Emma put her sewing things away and folded it up with the others she’d made during her late nights. Now that they were all done, she could start sleeping normally again and no one would be the wiser about how she had the time to make the shirts. Even with how much she tried to help out each day. The shops in town really lessened the kind of work she tried to help with, she could go out and play more than she had been able to when her mother needed help.

CHARACTER
Name: August Wayne Booth
Canon: Once Upon a Time
Timeline: 2.18; post-death (before the Blue Fairy changes him back obvs)
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality: August is a man of many contradictions. He is a believer and wants to help others see the light, yet he lies and gives vague answers that make it difficult for him to be trusted. He has traveled all over the world, yet he remains naïve. He is an incredibly hopeful person despite his fear of failing to convince Emma before the curse kills him. He is the type to be easily distracted and although he has good intentions, he doesn’t realize the consequences of his actions until he’s faced with them.

Due to his nature of being a shameless liar, August doesn’t form attachments with people very easily. That and his restless nature caused him to move around a lot during his twenty-eight years of traveling. He longed to experience everything he could in this world. There were many distractions in the world, and he let them sweep him up and keep him from Emma. His biggest thing was self-indulgence. August did whatever he wanted to do and didn’t think about the consequences. Over the years he turned into a selfish person who only looked out for himself. He was also a coward, first leaving Emma alone and then not facing her in person when he finally came back. The main reason he finally came to Storybrooke was because he was afraid of dying.

Despite his easygoing attitude, August truly does care about breaking the curse. He’s lived his whole life carrying the burden of the promise he made his father. When he finally does try to make good on that promise he becomes frustrated and desperate. It’s a great struggle for him, especially knowing that it’s largely his own fault Emma is so mistrusting. August has carried a lot of guilt on his shoulders, both concerning Emma specifically and how he ran from his duty. He saw convincing Emma to believe as his last chance to make up for his mistakes.

August knew that his reversal back into a wooden puppet was his own fault. It was a visual representation of his failure to follow the Blue Fairy’s direction in being selfless, brave and true. He was ashamed of it and that was why he hid. He especially didn’t want his father or Emma, the two people he most didn’t want to disappoint, to see him. Yet his desire to protect them was stronger than his cowardice, and in the end that desire was what saved him.

Overall August genuinely wants to be a good person. The only problem with this is that he gets in his own way: running from his responsibilities, indulging in his human desires, giving into his nature. He longs for a chance at redemption.

First Person: [August is sitting outside, just taking in the view of the city. His device is angled so it catches his face. He has a light smile playing on his lips]

I still can’t believe this is all real. I’ve been pinching myself all day just to be sure… But it is real, isn’t it? I’m actually--

[whatever he was going to say is so overwhelming all he can do is shake his head]

This road would be perfect for riding my motorcycle, but… I don’t know. I feel like stretching my legs for a while.

Third Person: A heartbeat. An honest-to-god heartbeat! He could feel its rhythm against his chest. And the steady restricting and expanding of his lungs with each breath of air. August gave himself a minute to just enjoy these two incredible feelings. So many people took them for granted; not him. He could still remember the first time he felt these things. Just like then, August felt a surge of gleeful joy realizing what this meant.

“I’m alive.” He breathed the words out loud just to make them seem more real. “I’m alive. I did it…” The relief was making tears roll down his eyes. He was selfless, brave and true. He must have told Emma about Tamara. He remembered seeing her eyes, struggling on his last breath to tell her. Now here he was alive, so it must have worked. August pinched himself several times just to be sure. Yes, he was definitely a real man again.

Now that the initial high wore off, August realized that there was something wrong with his surroundings. Specifically that they weren’t anything like Storybrooke. What happened? Where were Emma and his father? Where was anybody? The high he felt was crashing around him fast.

“Emma?” he called out. “Emma!” He needed to see her, to be sure that this was real
