APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

✗ Canon Application

✗ Canon OC Application

✗ OC Application

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

First Person: [It wasn't the first time Dante had ever followed an unexplained compulsion to go somewhere, or do something. In fact at first he hadn't even thought it particularly strange to get on the train, things like this happened to him far more often than he cared to admit. Another day in the life for the devil hunter.

However, it was perhaps the first time a train had stopped somewhere relatively... normal? Sure, the place had the whole spooky mysterious fog thing going for it, but other than that it completely lacked the surreal, foreboding quality he'd come to expect from these kinds of adventures. Honestly, he was a little disappointed.]

Losing your touch, or did you just decide to finally drop the cheesy horror novel act?

[He said to no one in particular. After a few beats and no answer (not that he was expecting one), Dante decided it was time to move. One of the many posters caught his eye, and without it he'd not have noticed the pocket watch in his coat pocket. Well, that was sneaky now, wasn't it? Normally this pompous sort of thing wasn't his style, but flicking it open revealed its true use. Well, might as well play along for now.]

Well, wouldn't you know it? I missed my stop, and to make matters worse it looks like that was the last train of the day. I don't see anyone around running this place, so if someone in this fancy talking watch would be so kind as to point me in the right direction to hitch a ride home, you'd have my thanks.

[Yeah, he doubts that'll work. But it's worth a try?]

Third Person: "You're not the least bit interested? A mysterious train picks passengers up, but they're never heard from again. Sounds right up your alley."

"Not tonight, Lady, I'm busy." Dante replied, idly flipping a page on the magazine he was perusing. In truth, he was curious, but he knew Lady would tell him anyway, whether or not he asked. This was how it always went, she brought him a job, he refused, they argued about it until she proved it was worth his time.

"Is that right?"

"Mhmm."

"With what, got a hot date?"

"For your information, yes."

"Dante, a pizza and a bottle of Jack don't count as a date," Lady smirked knowingly, making her way casually across his office as she searched for a way to force the issue. "How about a bet," She picked up a dart found laying on the floor. God, Dante, you're such a pig. "I hit the bulls-eye, without looking, from across your office, and you take the job without question. What do you say, cowboy?"

Dante considered this for a time, still thoughtfully thumbing through his magazine. She knew he'd take it, and he knew that she knew, but he still put on the act. Every single damned time. "Alright, it's a deal. But, if you miss, you're paying off my pizza tab. Got it?"

"Done." With that she made her way back across the office, her pace a confident saunter. This deal was as good as hers, there wasn't a chance that she'd miss. Dante continued to feign disinterest, but in truth he was watching out of the corner of his eye like a hawk. Would she miss, this time? Would he end up having to go back her up on this investigation anyway, if she had to go alone? Probably. But at least he'd get his pizza debt paid.

Without turning she casually tossed the dart over her shoulder, waiting to look until the satisfying sound of it making contact with the board reached her ears. She turned, already smirking, not to the dart board, but to Dante, who was wearing the most annoyed frown. "I guess that's a bulls-eye, cowboy." As if there was ever any doubt. Dante huffed, getting to his feet grudgingly and reaching for his coat.

"Yeah, yeah. I still say you'd make more money as a hustler."

"Good luck on your job, and try not to break anything this time."

"Pfeh, sure." Just for that, he was going to break something.

It was dark by the time he reached the train station. A heavy fog obscuring all but the closest buildings. In the distance he heard the horn, the rumble of a train further down the tracks. Looked like this was it, hopefully it would be more fun than the last few jobs.
