In the end they did things Maedhros's way, so they killed the guards and stole the jewels. Unfortunately for the two of them, that whole "committed genocide multiple times" et al had left them fairly unequivocally evil, and that just didn't work for the silmarils. The silmarils were holy gems, which burned things of evil to touch, and they now burned the last sons of Fëanor when they tried to pick them up.

Maedhros was just SO TORN UP over all of this that he went and THREW HIMSELF INTO A VOLCANO (hey have you ever had your hand hurt so bad that you'd throw yourself into a volcano? yeah me neither) and Maglor ran with his for a while until he finally couldn't take it any more and chucked it into the sea. He proceeded to spend the rest of eternity crying about it.
Abilities:
Before we start: I am so sorry. I know it's ridiculous, I didn't write this.

Tolkien never really explained what his version of magic was (other than 'not your normal magic' thanks Mr Tolkien) and, in fact, specifically mentioned that words in English don't actually exist to describe it properly. To make matters even better Tolkien contradicted himself on the hows and whats and wherefores a lot, and Word of God actually contradicts what's in text. For that matter, what is actually in the text contradicts what's in the text.

Tolkien.

Let's start with the more or less sane and consistent part of the ridiculous things he can do just by virtue of being an elf. Here is a brief list.

- Immortal unless killed
- Difficult to actually kill! If you don't manage it in the first five minutes odds are he'll be fine in the morning, excepting cases of poisoning. He can recover from wounds that would kill humans without too much difficulty.
- Unless he dies of the sads or is raped, which would cause his spirit to nope right out of his body (this is rare)
- Or suffers extreme wounds of the spirit (which is also very rare)
- Doesn't get sick. Ever. Common Colds are for lesser creatures
- Highly resistant to extreme cold and pppprobably extreme heat
- Excessively, stupidly light of foot, to the point where he can walk on top of snow without leaving a footprint and move absolutely silently. PROBABLY.
- Ambidextrous
- Perfect recall (though presumably not everything he has ever learned is instantly 'on tap', meaning some has been filed away and it could take a while to find the right file. He's kinda old, after all)
- Super duper good senses. He can see like way far away we don't know how far but far, and his ears are also very keen.
- Does not actually need to sleep! Presumably he can, but when he needs/wants to (and presumably isn't tired enough to actually need to lie down) he can find all the rest he needs by thinking about/looking at beautiful/pleasant things. He can therefore multitask and do things like run hard and 'sleep' at the same time. Don't ask me how, but it works.
- Tires less easily than other races to begin with.
- Fleet of foot
- Faster/stronger than other races
- Extreme connection to nature! He can like, talk to the trees and rocks and animals and so on. Probably. Probably not so well as the laiquendi? Maybe? I'm sorry all of this is very vague. Generally good with animals too.
- He can somehow impart a portion of his virtue to things he makes or places he hangs out a lot, which burns and repels minor evil things. Doesn't really work with major evil, but can fend off anything but concentrated evil fairly well usually. This takes a while and the effect from just him would probably be minimal as far as places that he just lived - it would be stronger in things that he worked.
- He glows. Like. Gently? I'm sorry I don't know apparently his soul is shiny and you can see that, especially in his eyes. ELVES.
- Magic. Sort of. Which is where things start to get hairy.

Tolkien's views on magic are probably best summed up by Galadriel in LotR - who, when asked to show off some magic, basically reacts with "lol what's that whachu mean magic". Odds are that, given his canon point, Nelyafinwë will never have even heard of magic, and so may or may not just roll with the word (IS THAT WHAT YOU GUYS CALL IT? YEAH OKAY MAGIC. ... WHAT'S MAGIC?) but officially it's a little more complicated than that, as Tolkien was too good for the classification that every other fantasy writer who has written fantasy ever used to make things simpler.

Magic is not correctly magic but Art, or the act of subcreation, which is separated from the act of Creation as the use of things which are pre-created in new and relevant ways. He divides this Art up into two categories, magia and goeteia. Unfortunately as he seems to have only mentioned this this one time in this one letter the definitions there are a little hazy. Neither magia nor goeteia is inherently good or evil (evil magic is just different, period, we don't really know how, he never actually tells us) but instead the divide seems to be 'active' magic vs 'passive' magic, or possibly things that do vs knowledge so deep and intense that it appears to be magic, or maybe physical change vs illusary/deceptive change weeeee don't really know. It was never exactly detailed. The operative point, however, is that elves instinctively know the difference between them and also the difference between it and life, much as humans know the difference between a sculpture or a painting and life. Elvish goeteia is primarily artistic, and not intended to be deceptive, but still could deceive by accident, or deceive people who did not know what they were seeing. Magia, by contrast, seems to have a great deal to do with will, by which I mean willpower. It's goal is immediacy, a reduction in time or labor needed to accomplish a specific end. Will is focused on one particular action, and Creation is straightened, made not otherwise, quite, but how it could have been all along. It's not a twisting but rather a perfecting, all to the glory of the original Creation, which is how it is different from the arts and devices of the enemy, who twists and corrupts.

Magia having, apparently, more to do with will than words, magic spells actually supposedly aren't a thing except, canonically, they actually are. I don't even know.

Clear as mud? Yeah, I think so too! Let's move on.

What elves do/have isn't strictly speaking magic, instead it's just kind of what they do; they do, individually, because everyone had different talents in different things and Tolkien was apparently too good for categories and specific spells and all the other things that every other fantasy writer who ever lived used to simplify things.

On top of this is the who-even-knows that is the result of the light of Lauerlin and Telperion, which basically as far as we know made the elves who had seen it more elf-y. I dunno. Elves who saw the trees are more powerful that's all I got.

As far as Nelyafinwë in particular goes, we don't have anything that he really can explicitly do (other than 'be the responsible one', at least) however there is a decent amount that can be inferred from canon. First off, with Fëanor as his father, there's precisely no chance that he doesn't know his way around the inside of a forge. Fëanor was one of the most skilled smiths and greatest inventors of the elves ever, and did little things like invent a writing system because he was bored or something idek and invent the prettiest jewels in creation. Which basically went on to destroy the world, but really, that's not their fault. Nelyafinwë didn't have his father's passion for invention and forging and such, but he does really enjoy a job well done, and as such I assume that he is extremely skilled in the art of creation and so forth. Making for its own sake isn't as much his thing, so he's not as creative as his parents generally speaking, but he gets a great deal of satisfaction out of a job well done, and there's a joy in beauty for the sake of beauty that he appreciates just fine. I mean really, with Nerdanel on one hand and Fëanor on the other there's no real way to avoid that.

In addition to his parents, odds are good that he studied some of the art of creation of various things with the "gods" who actually created the entire world, so. That's a thing. Aulë, who is a god of the earth and smithwork and such things, is right at the top of the list of candidates, but he's also fairly likely to have hung out with others like Orome.

Given who his brothers are, what he goes on to do, and kinda just elves it's also likely that he's at least passably good about just about everything else he puts his hand to, because if he's not he'll work until he is. He's very good at most of what he can do, because he's very task-orientated.

And um.

Given that he goes on to commit genocide multiple times and fight in wars and command armies and such it's obvious that he's got a head for tactics and strategy, is a commander at need, and is good with weapons. His favored weapon appears to be a sword, but odds seem good that he'd be fairly good with a number of others as well, perhaps especially the spear and the bow. After all, some of his brothers were avid hunters, and those weapons are necessary in those situations.

Network/Actionspam Sample:
[A very, very tall person is staring with some interest at the face of the watch, apparently having just finished an in-depth examination of it. He's handsome, though his expression is slightly bemused, and he has long red hair falling over his shoulders.

Did I mention he's tall? It's less apparent in a video than in person, of course, but the height of the landmarks around him is certainly greater than average.]

What is this place, that I have been brought to? O my brothers, o my cousins, my mother and father, my uncles and aunts, if thou art close enough to hear me, I would beg an explanation. All that has happened is....

[He trails off then, unable to find quite the right word to describe it, though he tries grasping at one for a moment before discarding the notion. He shakes his head a little, as though to shake himself free, and settles more comfortably into looking into the watch. His eyes clear, as he does, and are bright with treelight.]

Father? Provided, at least, that thou canst hear me, and I have not misunderstood wholly this device and its purposes - I assume that thou art its creator? I pray an explanation, if I am correct.

[It seemed logical, Fëanor was the greatest inventor of the Eldar, if anyone might have invented these, it was him. And, well, clearly someone had.]

I should also desire of thee an explanation of where I am and why thou hast done... [he gestures a little vaguely] ...this, if thou wouldst oblige me.

Prose Log Sample: Sample thread

Note: the thread has a different canon point than the one I'm apping, if this is a problem I can write a new one.

Side note: In The Silmarillion, there are multiple dialects of elvish spoken. Quenya, which is what Nelyafinwë speaks, is differentiated in-text by using more shakespearean speech - thees and thous and so forth. I've elected to go with this. It's likely to change as he gets more up to speed.

CHARACTER
Name: Johnny Rayflo
Canon: Vassalord
Age: Unknown
Timeline: Chapter 7: "The Incubus Calls Your Name Once"
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Despite being known as a 'ruthless killer' by the Vatican, Johnny Rayflo is actually a caring soul who deeply regrets losing his humanity. Johnny is a conflicted man damned for all eternity. It's this regret that defines him ultimately as a person. Johnny is known to wear many masks in hopes of concealing his pain. One minute he's the seductive playboy, the next he's the aloof vampire. He'll sometimes help others but hates receiving charity. Johnny makes it a habit of distancing himself. Whether it's by his flirtatious demeanor or his somewhat sarcastic attitude; Johnny doesn't like getting too close to others. He's scared of letting people into his dark world. Johnny doesn't believe that being a vampire is a 'gift' but he knows he can't ever be human again. He relishes the power and strength he has now and knows he cannot survive without it.

Johnny's a very private individual. He often avoids speaking about his past and put up airs when people ask. This aspect of his personality utterly frustrates Charley who, for better or for worse, wants to understand his Master. However, Johnny makes it difficult for anyone to sympathize him because of his standoffish attitude. Between all his 'fake smiles' and sexual innuendos, there's little wonder why they don't get along well. Johnny doesn't want people to get close to him, period. With Barry constantly chasing him and his own self-hatred, Johnny believes it's best for him to remain alone. He doesn't want anyone else to be sucked into his problems and ultimately fears Charley's judgement of him. Johnny lingers in guilt about Charley and goes out of his way to protect him. He wants do whatever he can to keep Charley safe even if it means pushing him away.

His reckless and flamboyant lifestyle is a topic of great controversy for those who know him. He always places the well-being of others above himself and doesn't seem to care whenever he gets injured or hurt. Johnny always has self-disparaging things to say about himself, and doesn't seem to mind living up to people's limited expectations. He honestly doesn't believe his life holds any meaning but still maintains his faith that somehow Heaven will still want him. I suppose you could say he's somewhat 'suicidal' in that aspect, but Johnny doesn't have what it takes to kill himself.

Despite his inner workings and personality seemingly always at conflict, Johnny doesn't wear his emotions on his sleeve. His usual demeanor is very playful and impish, almost childlike at times. He's a mischievous bastard who gets his kicks off by annoying people. Johnny's quirky sense of humor makes him quite fun to be around as long as he isn't teasing you. It's suspected that his relentless teasing is only but a mechanism he uses to keep himself from getting too attached. He often subjects Charley to this in hopes of keeping that mental gap between them. With Barry serving as a constant threat to Johnny's well-being, he doesn't want to risk getting Charley hurt.

While overall Johnny's just a lonesome moody vampire, it's best to stay off his bad side. Johnny has no qualms fighting anyone who hurts the people he loves. He's not a killer but he'll certainly go through great lengths to protect his friends. Johnny also has a soft spot for damsels-in-distress and will go out of his way to assist them however he can. He's not physically attracted to women at all, but he still carries a chivalrous flair about him thanks to his heyday as a knight. Johnny doesn't like to see people endanger and he has a special soft spot for children. He's quite the tender soul despite how rough and gruff he might seem.

(ooc: I used a few elements of my previous app for the following. I hope this is suitable.)

Background: Johnny Rayflo is a mystery shrouded in secrecy.

There’s virtually nothing known about this man other than the faint trail of bread crumbs he’s left throughout the ages. He changed his name often and wasn't fond discussing his past. Johnny Rayflo can be anyone and everyone. While there’s a few who try to unravel his past, not many succeed. All that’s known is that he once was a devout knight from a nameless kingdom who served as the guardian to a young princess named Marie. Through outstanding circumstances, Johnny soon found himself at the clutches of a demon who was infatuated with him.

On one fateful night, the kingdom was attacked by an unknown enemy. Princess Marie was slain and Johnny left for dead. Upon the hour of his demise, Belial came to him. He promised Johnny a second chance at life that was too tempting to turn down. The demon corrupted his soul and turned him into a creature of darkness; a vampire. He managed to escape death's embrace and saved the princess by turning her into a vampire as well. Marie was his first child and his first mistake.

During this time, Belial became so obsessed with Rayflo that he created an incubus in his likeness to hunt him. Barry, the demon was called, served as Johnny's immortal tormentor on earth. He would break, bite, and tear Johnny’s flesh out of twisted pleasure. Barry even went as far as to break one of Johnny’s ribs and create a woman in Johnny’s likeness called 'Rayfell' as a sick homage to the Book of Genesis. He even goes as far as to refer to Johnny as 'Addie' a diminutive play at the name 'Adam'. The demon would burn entire villages in his name and brutally slaughter anyone Johnny cherished. Their relationship was one based around abuse and violence. Barry would rape and torture Johnny until satisfied. The incubus constantly drove Johnny to the brink of insanity in hopes of breaking him.

Somehow after finally managing to escape from Barry, Johnny wandered the landscape alone drinking the blood of the dead. While Johnny strove to stay away from his beastly urges, Marie succumbed even further into the darkness. She became a monster who committed terrifying acts of great horror. The princess couldn’t resist the evil within her and soon fell further into sin. Johnny knew he couldn't allow this massacre to continue and aligned himself with the Vatican to stop Marie. He betrayed the princess and stabbed her through the heart with a metal stake. Johnny warned the Vatican that Marie had to remain a 'sleeping princess'.

There were no shortage of corpses during the beginning of the Napoleonic Wars. Johnny lived as a scavenger feeding off the dead until one fateful night. During the height of his blood lust, Johnny found a young boy among the dead. He took the boy in as his 'son' and named him Chris. The two were inseparable. While their time together was brief, Chris grew very attached to Johnny and confessed his love for his 'Master' under a starless sky. As much as Johnny wanted to keep Chris at his side; he knew he couldn't. Chris had grown wan and weak thanks to a harsh life out there within the wilderness. Johnny could never find enough food for the boy to eat and feared that he would starve. With the threat of winter approaching, Johnny decided to give Chris to the care of a local church. Just like he mysteriously appeared within Chris's life, Johnny suddenly vanished.

Reunited again years later within the backdrop of a war-torn Europe, Johnny found Chris this time dying on the rain slick streets of a nameless town. Now a man, Chris still remembered his Master's face and begged him to save him. Johnny at the time was masquerading as a priest in hopes of shaking Barry off his trail. He tried to ease Chris's passing into the next life but the man pleaded for him to save him. Asking Chris if this was what he truly wanted, Johnny eventually gave in and turned Chris into a vampire. He knew that sooner than later that Chris would regret his choice, but he hoped for that day to never come. Unfortunately, it did. Feeling utterly betrayed by his master, Chris changed his name to "Charley", and gave his allegiance to the Vatican as a vampire hunter.

Now on the run in this perverse game of cat and mouse, Johnny found himself with more enemies than allies. He managed to throw Barry off his trail when he took up the alias 'Pigeon' in order to find blood donators willing to satisfy his vampiric urges, but that didn't work with Charley. The two would clash often but the outcome was always the same. Charley could never truly kill Johnny. The affection between them was still there despite all the hate and remorse that concealed it. Charley acknowledged Johnny as his 'Master' again, and requested his aid for a mission overseas.

The two traveled to Beijing to investigate vampiric disturbances there. Little did the pair realize that all of it was merely a ruse devised by the slumbering princess. In a message to Charley, Sister Famille revealed to him that they managed to awaken Princess Marie and they wanted to exchange her for Rayflo. Despite knowing this was a trap, Johnny agreed to their negotiations much to Charley's puzzlement. Perhaps Sister Famille and her clergy betrayed the Vatican in hopes of obtaining eternal life, but whatever the reason they soon fell to Marie's wrath. The whole reason behind Marie's summons was for her to have her beloved knight back, and she would kill anyone who got her way---even Charley. However, Johnny had his own ideas. He allowed Charley to feed from him again and take the form of a winged monster in hopes of faking his own death. The two clashed until dawn and Marie turned to ash one the suns rays reached her. She died trying to save Johnny from Charley, a fitting end to the child liege that Johnny once cherished. Johnny also supposedly died as well but because of his dark lineage he transformed into a bat instead. Seven days passed until Johnny would reclaim his human shape, and Charley decided it would be best for them to live together so he could protect his master. Now spending all of his time by Charley's side, Johnny forgot about the enamored incubus who wanted nothing more than to shatter his fragile peace.

Abilities: Johnny is a very old vampire hailing all the way back to the medieval times. He's also very powerful and nearly indestructible. His only known weakness is sunlight and it's uncertain whether or not garlic or holy water has any effect on him. He was created by the demon Belial and thus it's assumed that his powers outmatch modern vampires. He has the ability to fly and shape-shift into a colony of bats (image). Johnny is also blessed or cursed with superhuman strength, speed, and agility. He also has a rather high tolerance for pain considering all the torture Barry puts him through. The vampire barely flinches at having pieces of his spine removed or his limbs ripped off. Like most other vampires in lore, Johnny has the ability to regenerate limbs or organs at an alarming rate. He can literally have his arms and legs blown off and regenerate them quickly within mere minutes. However, if his heart was to be ripped out from his chest he would die.

One very interesting aspect of Johnny's powers is his ability to trans-morph his blood into battle ready maids (image). These servants of his have no personality or will of their own. They're merely familiars for which he can summon to battle in his stead. Their bodies congeal together from droplets of his blood and form into the shape of two human females. One of the maids has long blond hair and the other wavy black hair very similar to Rayflo's. This is a unique ability token to only Johnny since no other vampires in the series seem to possess this skill.

Besides his supernatural powers, Johnny is also a rather skilled swordsman. He's adept in physical combat and picked up various skills since he literally traveled the world during the course of his long life. Johnny is also well learned in various languages and cultures.

While he might sound like he's a little too overpowered, keep in mind that Johnny's primary weakness is sunlight. He cannot walk within the sun or risk being burnt to a crisp. In addition to that, Johnny has a weakness against silver and blessed weaponry. He also cannot enter a room not his own unless invited inside. He can enter a church with no problem but he can't quote the Word of God(the Bible) without injuring himself.

Third Person:

This was going to be a long, very long day.

A frustrated sigh escaped Johnny as he peered down at the desolate streets below. Somewhere after his message to the general public, Johnny decided to strike out on his own and explore. The city itself was like strange macabre between England, Venice, and Toulouse, all cities that Johnny visited during the course of his life. However there was something 'unsettling' about this place that he simply couldn't comprehend. For one thing, the streets were almost completely bare and it was only twelve-something in the afternoon. As rare as it was for him see sunlight, it was even rarer for him to be outside during this time of day. After all, his vampire nature doesn't exactly allow long strolls through the park during the middle of the day.

Forced to cling to the shadows of a few adjacent buildings, Johnny's dark gaze lingered upon the golden pocket watch he found earlier in the day. It was pretty trinket but a little too bland for Johnny's liking with its smooth golden brass finish. It was simple but elegant with a beaded golden chain attached to the tip of it. He found the watch sitting neatly among the folds of his bloodstained shirt as he tried to shake away his grogginess. When Johnny first found the pocket watch, he honestly didn't pay it any mind that was until his mind strayed towards some unsavory thoughts.

'Barry.' A hiss slipped from his lips once he thought of the incubus. Only able to recall fragments of what happened prior to the train ride, Johnny cringed when a familiar ache traveled up his spine. "That bastard...!" He grumbled lowly.

Just the mere mention of the incubus's name alone was enough to throw Johnny into a fit of rage. While their little game of cat and mouse had always been a tad violent, Barry out did himself this time. Even now, Johnny wasn't sure if he could ever truly heal from the wounds inflicted upon him on that night. His spine still tingled in agony and his innards twisted into knots as he thought of how Barry tore and ripped them. The entire ordeal roughly lasted about an hour or so until Johnny couldn't take the pain anymore. He fell unconscious once Barry began gnashing at his bones only to awake later missing the rest of his torso. "Ugh." He slapped his hand against his groggy face and sighed deeply. Johnny was so glad no one was here to see him all mangled and beat up. He doubted he could explain all the blood on his clothes and the haggard gleam in his eyes if Charley was here.

"...Charley." All of the color drained from his face once all of his memories came flooding back.

'He knows.'

Hey mods!

Can you clarify your mod note for me, I think a word or two were accidentally left out, maybe?

Also, how will this change affect my character's specific Force talents (the one specific to him and not to other FOrce-Users) such as his technomancy? I ask because his emotional stability is directly dependent on this specific Talent of his and knowing how this is affected with help me determine how I play him.

Thanks

Hey, no problem! It happens.

So, just so I have the right understanding - this power difference is actually effectively the same (in practice) but Anakin could tell the difference (if I wanted him to)?

CHARACTER
Name: Jade Harley
Canon: Homestuck
Age: 15
Timeline: During the journey to the Alpha session in the new timeline.
Personality: Sweet and energetic, Jade initially gives off an impression of extreme childishness and maybe even naivety: it was evident by her bedroom at home that part of her, at heart, was once an excitable thirteen year old girl. She adored Squiddles (little smiling squid dolls that come complete with built-in magnets so that when brought close enough to each other that they actively -cuddle- each other), enjoyed having tea parties with her Manthro Plushies (darling toy manimal chaps that are probably actively disturbing to anyone who doesn't find them adorable), and is fond of furries (the cute, big-eyed, non-sexual variety.) Her room was a mess of her eclectic interests, with piles of Squiddles in one corner, an electric bass in another, and an assortmet of firearms in the third. She enjoys old cartoons, loves animals of all kinds, and while she is a crack shot with a rifle (which will be expanded upon later), Jade is also a pacifist. Though not always possible, she will always do whatever she can to achieve a nonviolent means to accomplish the goals set out before her.

Jade's adoptive grandfather - and the only real parent she ever knew - was a "world-renowned explorer, naturalist, treasure hunter, archeologist, scientist, adventurer, big game hunter, and billionaire." As such, Jade has never wanted for anything material: her home was enormous and filled with ancient artifacts and ridiculous gizmos suggested to have been built by her grandfather. She rarely had to take the stairs thanks to the transporter that he put on each floor of the house. I only mention this because Jade has also picked up his knack for science; she is not only an enthusiastic gardener but also has an uncanny knack for nuclear physics and general gadgetry based more on sheer intuition more than any sort of concrete knowledge or studies.

Having grown up on a volcanic island with no one but her dog Becquerel (a "fucking devilbeast" as her friend Dave puts it - Bec is actually the First Guardian of Earth, a dog-shaped creature with the power to warp space, among others) to keep her company after the death of her grandfather when she was just a little girl, Jade can sometimes be kind of "weird." When she connected as Dave's server player in Sburb (the world-changing game that she and her friends were playing that gave her the ability to physically manipulate his environment), she decided to do some housecleaning for him and his bro... and immediately dunked a towel in the toilet and got to work. Ignoring the fact that she then uprooted the toilet and dropped it directly into Dave's bedroom, her social blunders (such as referring to her dead, taxidermied grandfather as if he were still alive) are usually mild and inoffensive.

Her sometimes easily excitable nature is reflected by the way that she types: bold green text!!! peppered with lots of exclamation points and emoticons when appropriate. Computer-based chat has been her main method of communication with her friends and the rest of humanity in general for most of her life. Due to her easygoing and generally pleasant attitude, she tends to get along easily with most people that she meets. She is strongly devoted to her friends, too; at one point, she sacrifices her dream-self in order to save the life of John's and later expresses zero regret about the decision.

Though silly and excitable, I’d like to take a moment to mention her self-sufficiency. Instead of going all Lord of the Flies with her dog after the death of her grandfather, she managed to grow into a pleasant if slightly odd young girl with a passion for gardening and all sorts of other unusual things. Being a silly thirteen year old and being able to take care of oneself aren’t mutually exclusive, and with the help of her guardian dog, she was apparently able to look after herself without too much incident. She certainly wasn’t starving or living in squalor, at least.

None of this is to say that she is constantly upbeat and unflappably cheerful: Jade can become short and frustrated with people who actively antagonize her (it took her months to forgive Karkat after he spent so long trolling her) or when she is upset (she verbally sniped at Feferi, one of the trolls, when Feferi approached her after a confusing and frightening nightmare). While Jade is arguably the most childish of the group, and certainly the most aggressively friendly one, she shows her serious and no-nonsense side more and more as the game they play goes on. She certainly never hesitated to call Karkat out on his bullshit when he exasperated her, at least.

Jade's stubbornness occasionally presents as a problem for her. As mentioned earlier, it took months to forgive one of the trolls that antagonized her, despite him needing to talk to her to help her with the game. She also occasionally has issues when it comes to thinking things through; Jade spent most of her life guided by the psychic visions of the past and future that she had while sleeping. Without those to guide her, she sometimes makes egregious blunders without fully considering what she is about to do, such as resurrecting the long-dead body of her dream self to terrible consequences.

In short, Jade is a clever, brave girl. Though a bit odd, she does not balk at her destiny (if you want to call it that) of being a player in a game that heralds the end of the world. Usually playful and amiable, she is more than capable of getting down to business and making difficult sacrifices when the situation calls for it. Even when faced with what seemed like unavoidable failure in Sburb, she maintained a positive attitude out of sheer conviction, not just desperation, and continued to work hard to achieve the goals set before her.

Background: This provides a pretty thorough background for her, but I'd of course be happy to expand on anything as needed.

Abilities: Jade is a godtier Witch of Space, which mostly means two things: 1) she can't die unless the death is heroic or "just," which mostly means "if she dies rescuing puppies from a certain death or turns evil and someone stabs her in the face to stop her, she'll stay dead." It also means 2) that she has control and domain over most things "space" related – she can travel really fast through space! And do things like grow and shrink planets and people, and also teleport and phase through walls and fly and float cake to eat it instead of getting a fork dirty.

As detailed in her personality section, she's also an accomplished markswoman, and is a pretty sharp junior scientist and gadgeteer.
