CHARACTER
Name: Aiden
Canon: Teen Wolf
Age: Unknown, probably late teens early twenties.
Timeline: Taken from the end of Season 3, episode Lunar Eclipse.

Personality: Aiden is a killer. No softening it, no lying. He will easily (and gleefully) kill whenever something or somebody is in his way. And not only that, but he'll threaten people close to his brother with death if he's really pissed off.

To get to why he's like this, we have to go back a little bit. Ethan and Aiden are twin Alpha werewolves. It has been stated that they were abused by their pack, and were Omegas, the lowest of the low in terms of the werewolf totem pole. The extent of this abuse has not been fully fleshed out yet, but Ethan referred to them as the pack's "Bitches" so it couldn't have been fun.

Deucalion, the leader of a pack of Alphas, approached Ethan and Aiden, to teach them how to control their powers, and how to steal the power of the Alpha for themselves. They murdered their entire pack, including the human/druid emissary, and went on their merry way. This instilled in Aiden a very twisted and deep sort of loyalty to Duecalion, and the Alpha pack. He admired Kali, and Ennis, and did everything he could to bring their pack power.

Then, Beacon Hills happened. He was assigned to check out one Lydia Martin, believing she was the key to getting at Scott McCall, who had the potential to be the True Alpha. (Basically Werewolf Jesus.) And then there was the small matter of an evil druid bent on killing all werewolves ever. So Aiden set about seducing Lydia, while his brother Ethan seduced one Danny Mahealani.

The only problem was, the twins both fell in love with the people they were supposed to be spying on.

Aiden, gruff and not very talkative, found himself really looking forward to his time spent with the fiery redhead. She became as important to him as his pack. It went from something purely physical to something much more complicated and deeper. This was incredibly frustrating for Aiden, who found himself torn between loyalties now. It wasn't until the very end, when the evil druid was destroyed, that Aiden allowed himself to finally confess all his feelings. Where he's going to go now, whether or not he'll be aiming for redemption, that remains to be seen.

He's very hot-headed, easy to trigger into a temper fit, and has a tendency to act first and think later. He's also incredibly loyal, and fiercely protective of people he considers important. He's willing to kill perhaps a bit too easily, but he'll have full justifications in his head for it the entire time. Preferring to let actions speak louder than words, he'll let a smirk tell an entire story with people he barely knows.

But when he's with his brother, he's a very different boy. He'll be playful, he'll banter, he'll even joke around. The only time he won't is if Ethan does something to piss him off. But even then, he might bluster and threaten but he won't follow through. And when he's with Lydia, he'll actually be tender, and follow her instructions. He has a strange sort of respect for her, and won't push her too far, or disobey her. (Frankly? He's totally pussywhipped for her, negl.)

CHARACTER
Name: Chika Funami
Canon: Hana to Hoshi
Age: 17-18 (never specified, but she's a senior in high school)
Timeline: Series end
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?:
n/a

Personality: The face Chika Funami presents to the world at large tends to have a smile on it. She's an outgoing, playful girl, best known around her school for running a table tennis club so laid-back and unorganized that it doesn't actually qualify for official club status and is instead listed as an "association." But that's just fine in Chika's books; as she puts it, her association is meant to be a place where people can just play around without having to worry about winning or losing.

It's not all pure-hearted egalitarian cheer with Chika, though; her sense of fun comes with a mischievous streak a mile wide. She's a girl who enjoys teasing and pushing boundaries. For example, she uses her nearsightedness as an excuse to invade the personal space of the series' protagonist, Sawako, clearly getting a laugh out of her reaction. At another point, when Sawako asks help her understand what it feels like to be in love, Chika drags her on a fake date, during which she tells Sawako they're going to a hotel--again, just to freak the poor girl out.

She's just as forward with Shiori, the girl she actually loves, though when it comes to Shiori she's more serious about it. She very casually kisses Shiori on the cheek in public, sits in her lap without any hesitation, and makes several unsuccessful attempts to get Shiori to return her affections.

Chika isn't all smiles and sunshine, though; she can be extremely possessive, and she has a scary temper. Back when she and Shiori were kids, Chika would terrorize anyone who gave the then-timid Shiori a hard time. Nowadays, it's Sawako who catches the brunt of her anger. As Chika sees it, Sawako is an interloper, getting between her and her love for her childhood friend. And as Sawako quickly finds out, Chika's mood can change with dizzying speed: she'll seem as cheerful as can be one moment, only to be glaring daggers the next, only to go back to smiling a second later! She makes something of a habit out of hiding her darker feelings behind her upbeat disposition.

Chika also doesn't take rejection especially well; when Shiori tells her that she's going to confess to Sawako, Chika's immediate reaction is that Shiori must hate her and want her out of her life. When Shiori says that that's not it, Chika then demands that Shiori go out with her. It's hard, at times, for her to find emotional middle ground--she can be an all-or-nothing sort of person.

But, for all of that, Chika is a resilient, caring girl--a big sisterly type. Underneath the teasing, underneath the temper, Chika harbors a deep, protective love for Shiori . . . and maybe kinda sorta cares about Sawako too, geez. She does actually make an attempt (a grudging, angry attempt, but still) to give Sawako genuine advice on how to deal with the confusing romantic situation she's found herself in, and in spite of the breakdown she has when Shiori makes her intentions clear, the two remain friends. (Actually, Chika doesn't entirely give up on pursuing Shiori, even though Sawako and Shiori are dating by the end of the series. She has maybe a liiiiiittle trouble letting go.)

CHARACTER
Name: James Potter
Canon: Harry Potter
Age: 17
Timeline: During the Marauder era. During James's Seventh year at Hogwarts.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:

Lily: "You think you're funny, but you're just an arrogant, bullying toerag, Potter. Leave him alone."

James: "I will if you go out with me, Evans. Go on, go out with me and I will never lay a wand on old Snivelly again."

Lily: "I wouldn't go out with you if it were a choice between you and the giant squid!"
— James and Lily in their fifth year.

James can come across as a rather arrogant and self-centred boy, as most will come to find out. He is a pure-blooded wizard, born to rich parents, so his arrogance may be born from that. He often picks on other students for a laugh, especially Severus Snape, James's arch rival. He can bit a bit of a bully and use his popularity against others. He usually hangs around his best friend, Sirius Black and his other two friends, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. Having the gang of "Marauders" makes James think he has an heir of authority over others. Having his friends around him makes him feel slightly invincible and over-inflates his ego some. That is one thing James Potter is know for. His ego.

His ego aside, James values loyalty and friendship above everything else. He is hardly ever seen alone, as he favours to stick by Sirius, his best friend. Him and Sirius are the main trouble-makers, as Remus and Peter steer clear mostly. Sirius was disowned from his family when he was sixteen, as he didn't agree with their "pure-blood mania." They wanted to fashion Sirius into the perfect model of a son, like his brother, Regulus. Sirius had none of it and James allowed Sirius to stay with him permanently, like a member of the Potter family. James accepted Sirius into his family like a brother and brought their bond even closer together.

If anything happened to any of his friends, he would stick by and defend them. He has a deep crush on fellow Gryffindor student, Lily Evans. Severus Snape, his arch rival, once insulted Lily deeply, by calling her a "Mud-blood." It means "dirty blood." Someone who was born to Muggle parents and not magical ones. James immediately jumped to her rescue and hexed Severus. One of the main reasons he jumped to her aid as he did, was because of his love for her. Throughout most of his school years, Lily Evans caused a deep infatuation in James Potter. He would stalk the corridors and Quidditch pitch, trying to ask her out on a date. Usually, he ended up with her shoving him off or just scowling at him. One thing James Potter is good with is perseverance. He isn't one to give up that easily, when his heart and soul goes into it.

One incident caused controversy around Hogwarts, was when a stunt performed by Sirius Black, nearly cost Severus Snape his life. James showed an act of heroism by rescuing his arch rival from the Whomping Willow. Remus Lupin was a werewolf in secret and for many months had to have his medicine delivered to him by the school's nurse. The place where the medicine was delivered was inside the Whomping Willow. Snape decided to follow, but was nearly crushed to death, as he touched the knot on the tree. Sirius had told Snape to touch the knot to get in, but the knot activated the tree to come alive. James saw the encounter and quickly came to his aide, rescuing him from the Willow's branches. This was one of James's most famous acts of bravery.

James is a good duellist and when he is not mucking around with his friends, he is a hard-working individual. He sometimes lets his pranks and bad behaviour mask his true self. He is actually a very intelligent boy, who actually becomes Head Boy in his seventh and final year at Hogwarts. Before being Head Boy, he became a Prefect. This shows that James does actually have an honest and hard-working head on him. James studied to become an Animagus, whilst at Hogwarts. A wizard who can turn into an animal at will. It was very advanced magic and he mainly did this, along with Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black, so he could accompany Remus Lupin, when he transformed into a werewolf. He spent many years trying to perfect his Animagus form, which was in the form of a stag. He gained the nick-name "Prongs." Both his Animagus and Patronus were a stag.

James may come across as rather geeky, since he is tall and wears round glasses. He likes ruffle his un-tidy hair where possible, as he wants Lily Evans to look at him. He has a self-conscience about how he looks and how others perceive him. The ruffling of the hair is to make it look like he's just gotten off his broom from Quidditch. He is a skilled Chaser on the pitch, so likes to think others around the school admire him for his skill. Again, this is his ego coming into play here. What would scare James the most is if one of his friends were killed or died. Remus Lupin, being a werewolf, cannot control himself once he's transformed. At the back of his mind is always the thought of "what if" Remus attacks any of them. Becoming an Animagus helped solved the problem, as Remus won't attack another animal, only a human. This was partly why Sirius, James and Peter all became Animagi, to be with their friend during transformations.

James is a pure-blooded wizard but he doesn't not believe it makes him any higher than anyone else. Some wizards believe that having pure-blood makes them elitist in a way. Most of these are Slytherin students. James doesn't agree with the way Muggle-borns and half-bloods are treated by some pure-blood wizards. Sirius is a pure-blood like James and doesn't agree with the supremacy either. This is partly why both James and Sirius are friends, as they think along the same lines regarding blood prejudices. Remus Lupin is a half-blood and werewolf, so has a lot of prejudice on him. James has a stout heart and will defend his friends against anything that comes their way.

Background: Here: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/James_Potter_I and Here: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Potter_family

Abilities:

James has an extraordinary ability for landing himself in trouble. Along with his best friend, Sirius Black, he is never very far from earning himself detention. He likes to think his witty charm can get him out of everything, but that is not so. This may not be one of James's positive abilities, but it is certainly one to be mentioned.

Negative abilities aside, James is a very good duellist and apt at Transfiguration. He is very clever, even though he does not seem show it much. He is a skilled Quidditch player, earning the position of Chaser for the Gryffindor team. He has fast reflexes, which may aid him in his spell casting.

More on James's abilities:

Animagus: James was able to become an Animagus at the age of fifteen. He had incredible skill in using this ability and could turn into the form of a stag. He often used this ability to visit his friend, Remus Lupin, during the time of his transformation into a werewolf.

Duelling: James is a skilled duellest alongside his best friend, Sirius Black. He taught himself most spells involving defence and offence. He often learnt spells to taunt others within the school, especially his rival, Severus Snape. Even though James can come across as a trouble maker, he is skilled with the wand at the best of times.

Quidditch: James is a skilled Chaser for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. He has excellent reflexes, which gives him the advantage over others, which don't have them same. He can pass and catch the Quaffle during the fastest of Quidditch matches. He even demonstrated in catching a Snitch, when he was playing with the Quidditch supplies one day.

Patronus charm: James taught himself how to cast a Patronus charm, which is useful against Dementors. His form is a stag, which is the male form of the deer. Lily Evans, his love interest, has a doe, the female form. He can conjure up enough happy thought to dispel most Dementors that appear close by.

Charms: James is good at charms, as he and his friends, Sirius, Remus and Peter, crafted the Marauder's Map. They did this as teenagers and therefore, James's charms skill came into it's own. Not many teenagers at Hogwarts could perform such a feat.

Transfiguration: James's wand was good for Transfiguration, as it was crafted from mahogany and is very pliable. An excellent wand for Transfiguration. His wand helped with him in the transformation into his Animagus form. Even his friend, Remus Lupin, said that becoming an Animagus was tricky, as lots can go wrong.

Third Person:

James heard the referee's whistle blow with a shrill scream through the air, as the Quaffle was released. This always made him feel on top of the world, high atop the ground on his broomstick. He pushed his broom forwards with nimble accuracy and speed, as he saw a Slytherin Chaser diving forward to catch it. He was faster and managed to snatch the red ball in his right arm and tuck it close to his chest. The Slytherin Beaters were doing their best to whack the Bludgers straight at James, as he was in possession of the Quaffle. He gave a nod to the other Gryffindor Chaser, as he passed the Quaffle quickly. He caught the red ball with accuracy and zoomed on forwards. James felt something close by his head, as he narrowly avoiding another Bludger. Bloody Slytherins. They were determined to knock his head off with the Bludgers. James dived with his broom, as the other Chaser threw him the Quaffle back. A Slytherin Chaser smacked into James, just as he caught the Quaffle. He narrowed his eyes at the big brute of a boy, before placing his whole body against his broom. He launched himself forwards, throwing the Quaffle straight past the Keeper and through the ring.

"Take that, you slimy gits." James whispered to the Slytherin team. There was a roar of applause from the crowd when James scored. He hoped that Lily Evans was there within the Gryffindor stands, cheering him on. He didn't have time to think, as the Slytherin team were soon in possession of the Quaffle. James turned his broom around and went to intercept the Slytherin Chaser in possession. He felt nimble within the air, like a bird almost. He was skilled at what he did best and nothing could beat the feel of the air whipping through his hair, or the euphoria of scoring a goal.

He caught up with the Slytherin holding the Quaffle and aimed to smash into his side. The Slytherin boy shot an evil glance at James, whilst zooming forwards on his broom. James had a decent racing broom, as his family wasn't short of a few Galleons. He urged his broom onwards towards his goal and managed to bash sideways into the Slytherin Chaser. The impact knocked him to the left, as his grip loosened on the Quaffle. James quickly dived under the Slytherin and grabbed the Quaffle, which was falling to the floor. He snatched it with a fast reflex action and tucked it under his right arm. Zooming forwards, he kicked his broom to encourage more speed and threw with all his might at the goal post. The Slytherin Keeper dived to the left to catch it, but James had thrown it to the right. The Keeper missed and the Quaffle went in with a satisfying "ding." More applause from the red and gold stands. He smirked and gave the Slytherin Keeper a wink, before turning around and flying towards the centre of the stadium.

He looked upwards to see the Gryffindor Beaters giving a nod to James, before pelting a Bludger towards the Slytherin Beaters. Still no sign of the Snitch. Gryffindor were twenty points to nil and so far. It was going well. James felt a blast of air pass him, as he looked to see who flew past him in a green blur. It was the Slytherin Seeker, Regulus Black. Sirius Black's brother. Sirius, who was James's best friend at school, didn't get on at all with his brother. Sirius was disowned from the family at sixteen, so it was understandable that there wasn't much brotherly love. Regulus gave James a long, hard stare, before flying high up to try and spot the Snitch.

James was back in action once more, as the other Gryffindor Chaser was in possession of the Quaffle. He passed the ball quickly to James, who snatched it in mid-air. He felt someone smash into his left shoulder. A Slytherin Chaser had smashed into him from the side. The other Slytherin Chaser was on his other side. Right. James snarled, as pain well up in his shoulder. They were trying to block him in! He was still in possession, so pushed his broom for an extra burst of speed. The Slytherin Chaser to his left elbowed him in the face, which caused James to drop the Quaffle. He placed a hand over his injured eye and cursed loudly. Now, Slytherin took advantage of their dirty tactics and slammed home a goal of their own, straight past the Gryffindor Keeper. James swore loudly and hit his broomstick. Surely, the referee would have seen that?! But she did nothing and signalled the game to carry on.

The match carried on without any other incidents, as Slytherin finally caught up with Gryffindor's score. Fifty to Gryffindor and Fifty to Slytherin. James preyed that the Snitch would appear soon, so that the Gryffindor Seeker could catch it. "Come on. Where are you?" He ducked, as another Bludger was sent his way by the Slytherin Beaters. There. He saw the Snitch flash passed his eyes, as then a blur of red whip past him. He smirked to himself, as his team had seen it first. Regulus, the Slytherin Seeker, was still watching the skies, before noticing the flash of red and a well-trained Seeker bearing down on the Snitch. Regulus zoomed past James and went to smash into the right side of the Gryffindor Seeker. It was neck on neck to make it to the little, zooming ball. James knew that if his team caught the Snitch, the game would be over. Gryffindor would win Two hundred points to Fifty, as the Snitch was worth One hundred and Fifty points. He grabbed the Quaffle from the other Chaser and tried not to focus on the Seekers too much. He was still a Chaser at the end of the day and needed to perform to score more points. Just in case neither side caught the Snitch. James hurled the Quaffle back to the other Chaser, right over the Slytherin Chaser's head. A neat shot. Then, it was all over. The whistle sounded, as the Snitch had been caught.

A tremendous cheer erupted from the Gryffindor stand. They had won. The Gryffindor Seeker was muddied from falling off his broom, but had the Snitch safety within his palm. The Slytherin team swore to one another, as they lowered to the ground in defeat. Regulus's face was dark with anger and disappointment. James punched the air and did a loop-de-loop, hoping to impress Evans, if she was watching. He felt a tingling feeling inside his stomach at the victory. This was what it was all about. Another good match over all.

CHARACTER
Name: Soga no Tojiko
Canon: Touhou Project.
Age: Dead, but estimated somewhere around 1400 years old.
Timeline: Post Hopeless Masquerade
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Tojiko is a Bourei, or resentful spirit. To that effect, she's a pretty irritable sort of person, easy to infuriate. However, despite the fact that her capacity for utilizing powerful lightning indicates a very high level of vengefulness, Tojiko has actually largely let go of the grudge she's held for humans. Still, she doesn't go out of her way to make friends. In all honesty, the only human or human-like people she gets along with are Toyosatomimi no Miko, the would be great leader she threw her hat behind, and Mononobe no Futo, her rival/friend. That isn't to say she couldn't warm up to others given the opportunity, but that would, well, require getting past the obstacle of her short temper.

Tojiko does not tolerate idiots. If she had any Buddhist patience when she was alive, that has pretty much evaporated in her current state as a manifestation of pure resent. Most of the time this aspect of her personality presents itself as a snappish, sardonic attitude, but pester her enough and she'll quickly become quite angry. You'll know it's probably a good idea to leave well enough alone when you start seeing little sparks off the metal in the area.

Her Symposium of Post-Mysticism entry denotes her as ill-bred. Despite being a member of one of the two major warring clans, Tojiko's language and demeanor is coarse and blunt. She's actually a tidy and organized person otherwise, but by the standards of her era she's quite rude. She also has a slightly old-fashioned way of talking, though, so it comes off a little strange.

However, she's also described as tender-hearted. Sure enough, underneath that rough, short-tempered exterior is someone who possesses more empathy that expected of someone with her personality. She detests seeing the undeserving suffer, and may even feel for an enemy who is otherwise showing genuine distress. This aspect of her personality is one of the biggest carry-overs from her time alive, and while it was suppressed for the longest time in the headiest days of her grudge, it has slowly worked its way back in.

A couple of final quirks: Tojiko generally doesn't view youkai in quite the same negative light as Miko, and certainly nowhere near the negative light Futo does. Living for hundreds of years as a ghost tends to defang notions that youkai are evil or impure. She again doesn't go out of her way to be friendly, but she can't really be bothered about them otherwise. She also, owing to the various little hints she's gotten of the outside world due to the occasional trespasser to the mausoleum and overhead airplane during her ghost years, developed something of a fascination with modern technology, and wants to learn as much about it as she can. Mind, having been locked in a mausoleum for hundreds of years, her concept of "modern technology" covers a shockingly wide time period.

Background: In life, Tojiko was a member of the Soga family who, along with Prince Shoutoku (known in reality as the woman named Toyosatomimi no Miko) clashed with the Mononobe clan in a religious war between Buddhism (Soga) and Shintoism (Mononobe). The war, however, was a front; in reality, she, Miko, and Mononobe no Futo were followers of Taoism, and desired to pacify the nation under Buddhism to reduce the general populace's political power. This would pave the way for Miko and her consorts' rule when they would eventually revive as shikaisen -- hermits who had surpassed mortality utilizing Taoist techniques. The three of them chose the vessals they would preserve their spirits in; however, Mononobe swapped the jar Tojiko chose with an unfired one shortly before she underwent the shikaisen process, possibly as one final act of revenge for her role on the opposite side of the religious war. The jar decayed, leaving Tojiko without a vessal. However, since her association with Mononobe defied Buddhism, she was also cast off the cycle of reincarnation, thus leaving her a ghost. Oddly enough, once the initial outrage settled down, she actually found she preferred being a ghost to being a physical being, which is perhaps the reason why she doesn't hate Mononobe for what she did.

Since the jar decayed so quickly, it is fairly safe to assume that Tojiko was aware of her surroundings for a much, much longer time than either Futo or Miko. Since the mausoleum they were interred in were sealed by Buddhists, and since Buddhism's power did not in fact wane as had been predicted, Tojiko effectively remained sealed but aware in the mausoleum for centuries, as opposed to the other two, who remained dormant until the time of their resurrection. This gave her time for two things: one, it allowed the resentment she harbored towards the people who put her in that position and towards humanity to dampen down. Two, it provided opportunity to develop a permanent resentment and hatred for the religion she once followed, Buddhism. After all, it was the Buddhists' fault the three were in this situation, and her own worship hadn't provided a suitable backup when she had died for real.

She maintained the mausoleum while she waited for the day the other two could finally revive. The opportunity finally came centuries later, but not because Buddhism had died out; rather, it was because Prince Shoutoku herself faded into legend, and subsequently the mausoleum itself faded into the land of belief, Gensokyo. Furthermore, Byakuren Myouren, in an attempt to watch over the seal by placing her temple on the mausoleum, actually ended up breaking the seal herself, allowing Miko and Futo to revive, and causing an incident in which spirits that represented the manifestation of human desires flooded to the Mausoleum to greet Miko. Post-incident resolution (i.e. Reimu Hakurei kicked their butts), the three relocated to a dojo so that they would not live under a temple occupied by youkai.

(It's worth noting that despite her canon point being post Hopeless Masquerade, Tojiko herself had little involvement with those events, but she would certainly have heard of them from Miko and Futo both.)

Abilities: Tojiko is a ghost, which means both the capacity for flight and the ability to go non-corporeal at will. (The former isn't as unusual as you'd think considering she's from Gensokyo.) Like most Gensokyo residents, she fights primarily using danmaku, which is basically a massively scattershot projectile style. In particular, she utilizes the spellcard system, which basically covers all of the fighting without any of the lethality. This isn't to say she couldn't be lethal if she wanted to be, but generally speaking she keeps the kid gloves. Finally, as a bourei, she can generate powerful lightning, something which can cause interesting issues if she's really pissed off.

(As a tradeoff for being, well, dead, Tojiko CAN be dispersed, which would functionally work like death, so she's not absolutely immortal.)

First Person: [VIDEO]
All right, could somebody please explain something to me? Watches like these are supposed to be time telling devices, yes? Like... like... I don't know how it works, I just know you tell time with it. So why can I use it as some sort of communication device? How come I can see and hear everybody through it? And don't give me some crap about it being "magic." I'm ancient. I'm not DUMB. It's some sort of technology you humans have been coming up with over the years, I know. Have watches, ah, changed that much?

Third Person:
She floated closer to the large tower in the town, peering at the large circle with the numbers on it. She'd seen some of these in smaller forms, mostly by people who'd attempted to loot the mausoleum, or people who'd stumbled upon it by accident years later. This was the first time she'd seen one quite so LARGE, however. Did people really need a big thing like this if they had a bunch of smaller ones?

She shifted into the building, taking into account the gears and machinery working. She had to admit, the technology that humanity had developed in the 1400 years since she'd attempted -- and failed, thank you very much Mononobe -- to become a shikaisen was truly amazing. Even if she'd only gotten her information in bits and pieces, she'd developed part of her appreciation for being a ghost simply in being alert to see these changes. That they'd figure out how to make a device that functioned like this... humanity truly was amazing.

Gensokyo had some technology, of course, but it was halted. Things occasionally leaked in from the outside world, by her understanding, but there was something sad about knowing that there'd be no real technological development. It was a world of youkai, and even though she was now one herself, she thought it sad they were forced to sacrifice science for the sake of maintaining the status quo. At least that shop near the human village had extra information, extra devices. And all the humans and creatures around here could also tell her about how things had developed. Not a bad deal, on a whole. Temporarily, at least.

CHARACTER
Name: Rima Touya
Canon: Vampire Knight
Age: 16
Timeline: Chapter 49

Personality: Similarly to most of the night class, Rima seems to have seems to have accepted the Day Class students as a normal, albeit annoying, part of daily life. But unlike Aido or Ruka who seem to have opinions on the other students, Rima shows little (if any) interest in them at all, regardless of their endlessly enthusiastic attempts to grab her attention. In fact, she shows surprisingly little concern towards most things, for example when apprehending Zero along with a handful of others. From the start, she had seemed dubious about attacking him, asking the others if they are “really doing this” since Ichijou said not to, and afterwards shows how little she really cares about dealing with him by paying more attention to Kain’s “uncool” actions than to their target. Even so, the fact that she was there in the first place shows she does care genuinely about Kaname in her own discreet way, rather than hanging around him just because of his Pureblood status. It is later revealed that she attends the academy because she feels happy and comfortable in the place he created for them as opposed to being there because of her family’s political beliefs (pro-monarchy/Kaname).

For most of the story Rima appears calm, quiet and indifferent, not unlike her fellow model Shiki. She seems more curious than afraid when waiting for the arrival of a more powerful vampire, her face remaining blank and tone unvaried since she’s already use to being in the presence of someone “scarier”. Although her personality is quite similar to Shiki’s in some aspects, she tends to pay a little more attention to her surroundings – for example, informing him of the fact there really is a new student when he hears Ichijou murmuring about it and asks whether their friend is talking about a new book.

Despite the fact she is often reluctant to fulfil orders such as exterminating ex humans and being assigned to protect Yuuki Cross during the day, she follows Kaname’s orders without question and is able to carry them out without a fuss. While she and three others are watching over Yuuki, she doesn’t bother to hide her irritation regarding the situation, but still manages to maintain the respectful bodyguard role. And though this seems to be a result of wanting to complete the task somewhat professionally rather than actually respecting her at that point in time, she even interrupts Aidou’s rant in order to add “-sama” to Yuuki’s name. She is also seen attending the Winter Ball and dancing in a group with some day class students while wearing an expression that clearly shows a lack of enthusiasm. While sometimes compliant, she won’t pretend to be enjoying something when she isn’t.

She shows no guilt or remorse when killing vampires which were once human, viewing the task as a simply job which must be done and labelling it “no big deal”. Furthermore, she seems completely unconcerned about the presence of Level Es and the potential danger they pose, even finding the time to stop for a half serious conversation with her companion before getting on with the task at hand. Like all aristocrats at the academy, she understands the need to kill them off before they start attacking humans at random and that’s all there is to it. This indifferent outlook remains the same towards other vampires too and when another model tells the story of being followed by one that wasn’t driven by bloodlust, she simply listens in with mild interest before shrugging it off as minor problem since the girl wasn’t hurt and this sort of thing was to be expected in the current situation. However, this lack of interest towards ex human vampires and other vampires in general doesn’t seem to stem from the fact she looks down on them because the difference in their statuses; Rima is just naturally aloof.

As well as attending classes at night and hunting down ex humans during the day, she also spends time modelling with Shiki, and although she doesn’t seem to show much very enthusiasm towards the profession she takes it seriously and even scolds her friend when he doesn’t. Before meeting Shiki, she was a huge fan of his mother and wanted to follow in her footsteps, but ended up modelling rather than acting for an unknown reason (maybe modelling suits the default bored look more than acting, or modelling is just her path into acting since you have more choice once you’re famous). However, the additional activities that take place during the day when most vampires would be sleeping leave Rima tired and contribute to feelings of annoyance towards pointless things that require unnecessary effort.

Aside from the usual detached manner, she can be surprising short tempered, especially if someone she cares about it concerned in the matter. This was first triggered by Maria’s presence in Cross Academy, when she and the other members of the night class immediately became suspicious of their unexpected transfer student. Clearly unimpressed by the girl’s insolence during their first encounter, Rima doesn’t hesitate to snap at her rude interruption to a conversation with Shiki while the other model doesn’t say a word. Her responsive side is far more notable when Rido Kuran arrives at the Academy. Her close bond with Shiki allows her to immediately realise something is amiss after a brief exchange of words while the majority of other students remain oblivious to the internal change. She has no problems with speaking her mind when she has an opinion and occasionally makes sardonic comments towards her classmates e.g. describing Aidou’s passionate speech as “a little creepy” and openly telling Shiki Ichijou’s katana doesn’t suit him.

Rima encountered Shiki while working as a model long before she began attending the academy and the two are rarely seen without each other. She acts like the older sister in their relationship; worrying about him while they are apart and chiding him in situations that are both unimportant (“Just chase him” while hunting Level Es) and serious (“You should love yourself more!” when his body is taken over by Rido). She is loyal to and protective of her friends – even willing to endanger her own life by fighting against a superior Pureblood vampire and wander off into a remote forest soon after being injured to search for a friend who has gone missing.

As a random side note, she also has a liking for Pocky and cute things such as pink heart shaped bags and plushies.

CHARACTER
Name: Masamori Sumimura
Canon: Kekkaishi
Age: 21 (possibly 22 by this point in canon, it's unclear)
Timeline: Mid-chapter 318 (after leaving Yomi)
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality:
On the surface, Masamori is everything you could want in an older brother figure. He's friendly and easygoing, frequently seen with a smile on his face. He takes an interest in people, in their interests, and in how they're doing both individually and in relation to others. He's observant, and tries to give people appropriate attention. He can be teasing, but it's good-natured teasing, and only to people he knows can handle it. He's encouraging, recognizing potential strengths and trying to foster them. He frequently give people second and third chances, believing that they will pay off (and often, it does), and even if it doesn't quite work as planned valuable lessons will be gained. He is apparently very forgiving. He frequently doesn't punish people for mistakes and moves past some betrayals.

He's been accused of being "soft," on account of his willingness to let mistakes go and even to accept known traitors back into the fold for a second chance. Masamori is not soft. People fall into three categories with him. There the people who are "his," his family or the family he has made with the Yagyou. He cares about these people and will protect them in any way he can. There are the people he can use, the ones he doesn't trust but knows he can manipulate or benefit from. And then there are his enemies, the ones who threaten or harm "his" people without having something to offer him. Masamori doesn't really make enemies lightly. But when he does, he is out to destroy them completely.

Masamori is highly intelligent and methodical. He's curious, he likes to understand everything that's going on. He's creative in his use of his powers- he's the first one we see to use the technique of layer kekkai for greater effect. As previously stated, he's observant, and has a good memory for what he observes. He tends towards long-term thinking. If something or someone may be useful to him in the future, he'll hold onto it or them for years. Anger can be a powerful motivating force for him (arguably his most powerful motivating force), but he controls it. He waits for his time, for the best opportunity to act. Even in his fight with Ogi, after Ogi causes the death of several members of the Yagyou, Masamori first seeks a truce, realizing that at that moment he is at a disadvantage and would be better served by gaining more time to discover a method to destroy Ogi. He is also unflinchingly pragmatic. If the only way to gain an important ally for the Yagou is to give away some information about his family, he'll do it. It's a question of who is more likely to be truly hurt- that is his first priority.

Beneath the big brother act, and driving the intelligence, is a proud, angry individual. Masamori wants to be the best. He wants to have control. He doesn't take slights to himself well, and takes threats to "his" people even more badly. He may not act impulsively on his anger, but man, can he ever hold a grudge. He doesn't trust easily, preferring to handle everything he can by himself.

But he is, in his way, a good guy. He genuinely cares about "his" people and wants them to lead relatively safe, happy lives. He'll fight for that. He'll fight dirty if he thinks that's the best way to make sure they're protected. He expresses horror at leaders who use their underlings as canon fodder- that's not how the relationship should work. He'll even avoid hurting his opponents' underlings whenever possible. If he hurts someone innocent, or comes to believe someone deserves a chance to be saved, he'll expend all his available resources in that effort, even at the cost of some of his ambitions.

For all his seeming control, he can act rather illogically at times. He has a strong sense of both responsibility and guilt. He is the one who has to protect the Yagyou, he is the one who has to stop an old friend who has become an ayakashi. He perceives it as his duty. He blames himself if something wrong, even if there was no reason for him to predict it, and he'll take it upon himself to fix things. This leads to him occasionally doing things like taking on possibly suicidal missions by himself.

Masamori has a serious inferiority complex, courtesy of Yoshimori and other powerful figures (including his mother). He is not good enough, or strong enough. He hates being ineffective or powerless, but also feels that he's fated to be that way. It's why he fights hard for and clings to the power he has, why he keeps such a proud attitude, and why he works himself to the absolute limit of his abilities. He's not "special," even though he's been surrounded by people who are. He wants that kind of recognition desperately, and harbors rather bitter feelings towards those who make it through life because they're "chosen" or just possess more natural talent (and even when someone's not really doing that, Masamori can be inclined to see them that way).

Compared to the "chosen" Yoshimori, Masamori is the angry one, the ambitious one, the overly proud one, the bitter one. And Masamori knows it. "My pride, my immaturity...it's all detestable," he thinks at one point. But for all that he realizes this and wishes he could be as good as Yoshimori, Masamori doesn't really see how he can change. He feels that he has been exiled to the shadows (even if, in truth, he's the one who put and keeps himself there) and that all he can do is use that fact to protect the people who are closer to the light.

Background: (I'm sorry about this but the Kekkaishi wiki isn't very good and has anime information that I disavow)

Prior to his first appearance in canon:
Masamori was born into the Sumimura family, one of the two families of Kekkaishi ("barrier masters") which have for generations protected the sacred and magically dangerous ground of Karasumori (on top of which a combined middle and high school now sits). Unlike his grandfather, Masamori was not born with the "houin" mark on his right hand that would mark him as a legitimate successor, the most honored and useful of Kekkaishi. But that was of little consequence. After all, Masamori's mother wasn't a legitimate successor either (though incredibly powerful and skilled). The mark has been known to skip a number of generations, especially when one legitimate successor is still alive. Masamori was smart and gifted, and started receiving training for his abilities at a young age. You don't have to be a legitimate successor to protect Karasumori.

Then, when Masamori was seven, his younger brother Yoshimori was born. Yoshimori had the houin mark.

Since then Masamori's has revolved around two things- excelling at what he does and wondering why he wasn't chosen to be a legitimate successor. This isn't to say he was a bad brother. He tried to be helpful and understanding. But he was left constantly questioning himself, and more than a little angry, with the result that at the very least he came across as aloof (to Yoshimori, that is. to others he was a more positive figure).

When he was around 15 or 16, Masamori left home (his grandfather sent a shikigami to finish high school for him) and joined the Urakai ("Shadow Organization"), an organization of people with unusual abilities who, for one reason or another, either couldn't inherent the family business or had none to inherit. The Urakai investigate and resolve paranormal matters which cannot be solved by other means, and attempt to generally regulate the unseen world of Japan. Upon joining the organization Masamori was largely tutored by "the immortal" Mudou, a man with a somewhat Machiavellian world view but who taught and was well-respected by the younger members of the Urakai. Masamori found himself discontent with the existing structure of the Urakai and, encouraged by Mudou, founded his own task force. The Yagyou ("Night Troop"), as they came to be called, became a group which specialized in eliminating urgent threats, and was largely composed of younger members, doubling as both a form of on-the-job training and, for many, serving as a family. As the chief of the Yagyou, Masamori obtained a great deal of status and power within the Urakai at a remarkably young age (at the most, he would have been seventeen). Mudou, in the meantime, became an ayakashi and a mass murderer.

canon appearances by arc:
Masamori's introduction (chapters 30-35): Masamori is introduced as a somewhat sinister figure, a rising power in the Urakai and the person who led the demon-user Kasuga Yomi to try to take advantage of Karasumori's power. Following this, Masamori makes his first trip back home in years, and is shown to be a friendly, well-liked member of the family and community (with the exception of Yoshimori, who has something of an inferiority complex centered around Masamori and who gets defensive as a result). Masamori brings a new ayakashi to the Karsumori grounds to see how Yoshimori (and Tokine) deal with it, but it seems that this is a form of tough love just as much as it is a method of gathering information, and when Masamori leaves again it's after encouraging Yoshimori to pursue his goals.

Kokoburou arc (chapters 42-141, though Masamori isn't involved in many of those): A group of ayakashi known as the Kokoburou begin to threaten Karasumori, at first with fairly low-level creatures. As part of the Urakai's growing interest in Karasumori and for some personal reasons, Masamori sends Shishio Gen, a 14-year-old member of the Yagyou, to Karasumori to help the kekkaishi there. Masamori is promoted to the Urakai's executive committee, the Council of Twelve, which has a seat open in the wake of Mudou's desertion. The Kokuburou increases its attacks against Karasumori, and Masamori continues to aid the defense by such methods as temporarily sending one of the Yagyou teachers to help train Gen and the kekkaishi to work together and helping a particular ayakashi expert stage his own death. Masamori intends to go with the bulk of the Yagyou to Karasumori in expectation of a major offense by the Kokuburou, but first is sent on another mission that requires a great deal of manpower. Because of this, a major attack by the Kokuburou results in Gen's death, which Masamori arrives to late to see. Masamori and the Yagyou then set up around Karasumori and prepare for the next major invasion by the Kokuburou, which they repel. Unfortunately Yoshimori and one of the Yagyou, Sen, are taken to Kokuburou headquarters, in an alternate dimension. The other kekkaishi and the Yagyou manage to get through to the Kokuburou castle, but by then Yoshimori and others have taken care of pretty much everything and all that's left to do is get them out. Everyone returns home.

Black box arc (chapters 134-147): While the bulk of this arc doesn't involve Masamori, it's a demonstrative arc. Ogi Ichirou, a member of the Council of Twelve who Masamori does not get along with, pushes for another member of the council to investigate Karsumori. Okuni, the member of the council in charge of the investigative branch, volunteers, and is supposed to have Masamori as a guide. However, mysterious black boxes appear at Yagyou headquarters (and in Karasumori) with the result that two of the children in the organization go missing. Masamori stays at headquarters to try to take care of the boxes, which also eventually have ayakashi sent out of them, while sending his second-in-command to Karusumori. Eventually, through their own efforts the children escape and are found, and the black boxes are neutralized. Okuni tells the Council that Karasumori should remain in the care of the kekkaishi for now, but that only leaves Masamori suspicious of her. Not to mention angry with Ogi, who pretty clearly planned this.

Mudou arc (chapters 154-165): Having been hunting for Mudou since the man became an ayakashi and killed a lot of people, including some of Masamori's subordinates, Masamori finally locates him in a shinyuuchi (sacred land, another somewhat alternate but connected universe) near Karasumori. Currently low on manpower, Masamori asks Yoshimori to come along as back up. Masamori hunts Mudou down, Yoshimori gets involved by accident along with the Lord of the shinyuuchi, there is an epic showdown in which some of the brothers' issues are aired and Mudou tries to Masamori to joing the dark side. Masamori, however, resists, and the Lord of the shinyuuchi ultimately defeats Mudou by destroying his own world, to recreate it later. Masamori is seriously injured but manages to get out and is taken back to the Yagyou healers, so he recovers quickly.

Things that I can't quite classify into the next segment (chapters 166-169): Masamori begins a restructuring of the Yagyou, calling back the telepath Sazanami who had been in charge of the Yagyou's intelligence. While Sazanami had betrayed the Yagyou, giving information to Ogi, Masamori makes sure that Sazanami wants to cooperate again. Or else. Masamori also sends two young members of the Yagyou, Sen and Shuu, to Karasumori, primarily for intelligence purposes.

CHARACTER
Name: Jack Vessalius
Canon: Pandora Hearts
Age: 24
Timeline: Some time after the events at Sablier have settled.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:
A charismatic young man with a pleasant, outgoing personality, Jack Vessalius is quite the likeable fellow. Even if he had not a penny in the world, one would probably believe that Jack would still be as carefree as he is. He has a cheerful persona, practically sunshine incarnate, with a great love for socializing. Perhaps that's why people don't take him seriously. He's very friendly, and so open is he that many find it hard not to like him. When it comes to people, in fact, Jack doesn't let reputations nor introvertive personalities keep him from getting to know a person. He believes in giving everyone a chance, and would rather make friends than enemies.

The man can be a bit of a mischief maker, not afraid to be casual with the nobles, but perhaps it's because it's such a natural thing for him that it's been excused by even the higher houses of the dukedom. Still, his being raised in the aristocracy haven't been entirely wasted. Jack is quite a charmer, undeniably handsome and fairly bold when it comes to offering compliments to pretty ladies, even if they sometimes borderline cheesiness that it's hard to say if he's being serious or playing. He really does seem like a hapless flirt, in that respect.

His demeanor is so sincere and open that it isn't difficult for anyone to trust him. He's passionate and caring, although ultimately his true passion is for something far darker and out of reach than anyone may ever know. His smiles and amiability are so genuine that one wouldn't realize how twisted a man he has become, beneath it all. They have compared his gaze to calm waters, but only one has ever marked how disturbing the stillness of those waters were, and how one could not see anything but their own reflection, knowing nothing for what lay beyond the surface.

The events at Sablier had shaken him, but when something is already broken, there's little more damage that can be done save to jostle the pieces. His sadness and dismay over what he had done and what had happened was redirected towards his failure in what he had attempted to accomplish. It was not enough to dissuade him, and if there's one constant thing about Jack Vessalius, it is his patience. Through deceit and careful thought, he had everyone believe something entirely different of the Tragedy of Sablier. As a hero he brought the Vessalius household up as one of the four dukedoms and cast the Baskervilles into shadow.

To survive, he did what he needed to. During those years that he had spent seeking Lacie, Jack had taken her words to heart. He became what people looked for and wanted, not concerned for how stained his hands would become, how he might be used by others. He's shaped himself into something that the houses of nobility had accepted and essentially became someone that no one was ashamed of calling an acquaintance or friend. One can't really call it a mask- Jack is genuine in all his actions, and just as twisted as he might be, he's equally pure for his desires. He's conniving and very careful in his planning, and can be very manipulative in order to get what he needs. He will only let you know what he wants you to know and never completely show his hand. Yet at the same time, he almost carries a semblance of innocence. His wish, for how twisted and extreme it might be, is born from a simple thought and desire. His obsession with Lacie may be unhealthy but no one but Jack alone knows how much it had meant to him to be looked at like another human being.

Background: A wiki link

Abilities:
Jack is, for the most part, a normal human being. If there's anything unusual about him, it's his general amiability towards others. He seems to bear an irresistible charisma when it comes to being around others.

He's a music box maker by trade, which in turn extends to clocks and watches. The music box pocket watch he has on his person is an example of his finest work, elegantly crafted and housing a lovely if haunting tune as written by his dear friend, Glen Baskerville. His musical skills are not merely in the creation of devices to play tunes, but Jack is also an excellent pianist. Perhaps it's one of the few things he'd appreciated for all the tutelage nobles are expected to go through. Climbing trees is another of his favorite pasttimes, and a skill most certainly not standard of the noble package.

He has some experience in wielding a sword, and for a brief time, he had control of a deadly Chain known as B. Rabbit and still holds that link. Jack was not left unscathed from the conflict between him and Alice and the Will of the Abyss when Sablier fell to the Abyss. He's cursed in a way, his body slowly de-aging, an affect of being exposed to the powers of the Abyss. Once he becomes an infant, the natural growth process begins anew, and will continue until he reaches the age he was at the time of Sablier's tragedy. He will never be able to die naturally, this way. Unfortunately with each rewind, his soul is torn apart, so little by little it becomes lost. It would be much later that any of this is revealed, however, and that he would be called a "living ghost." As it is, he might not be aware of it himself just yet.

First Person:
...this isn't...

[It's a handsome face with eyes of brilliant emerald that peers down into the watch's boundaries. Those eyes slowly widen.]

I remember... This place then, could it be...?

[It seems like it's a struggle as to whether he should smile or not, given the circumstances. He steps farther from the train station, eyes still wide as he marvels at the surroundings.]

It looks a little different than I remember, but I'm sure there can be no other. I'd feel a little silly if I were talking to a mere pocket watch though.

[He laughs, scratching the back of his head as he looks down again.]

If someone is there, please do respond! Ah! Chari! Are you still here as well, you and your siblings?

Third Person:
When he'd first felt the shift of the train as it stopped, he had wondered if it was a dream. It was all vaguely familiar to him, and with each step he took until he set foot upon the solid ground of the train station's landing, the memories trickled back to him.

He remembered a great city with old structures, and a wall that surrounded it all. This place looked a little different, stylistically, and yet there were still signs of familiarity that lingered. The placement of buildings, the towers that yet stood though the encircling wall that joined them was nowhere to be seen. Jack brought a hand up to his brow as he hurried along down the street a bit, seeking out- "Ah!" A smile bloomed across his face as he spied the clock tower. He was more pleased to hear its distant toll.

His joy was short-lived. His face fell as he reminded himself that this was a place far from where he wanted, where he needed to be. Fingers curled tightly around the golden pocket watch, then slowly relaxed.

"Time means nothing here," he said under his breath. "Much like the Abyss..." He let the thought trail off with his words, his eyes widening along with the slow smile that began to whisper across his lips. "...whenever I am called back, wait for me, Lacie. And if you are called here, I'll wait for you."

Canon: Welcome to Night Vale
Age: Apparently somewhere in his thirties. But even he doesn't
know.

Timeline: Just before the episode "First Date".

If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal
with this?
:
Personality: The first thing anyone would notice about Cecil is
that he is remarkably well-spoken and intelligent. He seems to have an
unflappable quality about him, that no matter what strange things go on
in his life, he views it all with a certain detached pleasantness and a
chummy tone. To those who know him, Cecil is very pleasant to be around,
although he seems detached outside of his studio. Like there's something
else going on or somewhere he should be. When interacting with others, he
seems a little distracted, as if he's filing all his little interactions
into his head so he can talk about them later.

Cecil doesn't really believe in secrets. His job is to announce
everything, so why would he? However, if there's something he doesn't
know, he will instead ask questions about it without actually approaching
the issue. He seems unconcerned by the things he doesn't know, figuring
that eventually they will work themselves out. He is an optimist to the
point of almost brute-forcing it, almost as if he were saying "I know
everything around here isn't perfect, but it pays to keep a positive
attitude and not worry about anything!"

However, Cecil can be petty and vindictive. If you slight him, he will
not only announce it publicly, he will also announce your name, address,
and just about anything else he thinks will incite a mob against you or
get you in trouble. While he doesn't necessarily show anger, he does tend
to openly express his emotions in blank terms, be they "Today is a nice
day" or "I am very angry about the subway outside my studio".

And finally, Cecil doesn't seem to communicate well (or at all) when
found outside his booth. He's capable of being polite, certainly, but he
needs that detachment, as he is very frightened of the world around him.
Especially now that he is in a new place, filled with people he doesn't
know and no familiar landmarks.

Background: Cecil Baldwin was born in Night Vale, and was
perfectly normal, despite the town. He had a strange, sonorous voice that
unnerved his parents, but was not particularly out of the ordinary for
the small desert community. At first, Cecil was picked on for his voice,
and found elementary and middle school very difficult, between the
lessons that often bordered on the obtuse or completely impossible to
absorb and the (Shadowy World Government-sponsored) teasing of the other
children, Cecil found it hard to go about his daily life.

However, salvation was found in a strange place: Community theatre. While
community theatre in Night Vale was somewhat underground, it had not been
completely outlawed yet, and so Cecil joined the Night Vale Community
Theatre, particularly its Children's Theatre, which put on such classic
kid-friendly works as Glengarry Glen Ross, The Birthday
Party
, and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. As he grew older, he
took on better roles and migrated to the adult community theatre (not to
be confused with the Community Adult Theatre, which Cecil was always embarrassed to admit he didn't have the body for).

At the same time, he got involved with the high school's theatre, and
played Pippin in the school's avant-garde production of South
Pacific
. Once he graduated, he decided to go to NYU to study theatre.
However, the heavy constraints as well as the culture shock from having
to live in New York, a place where the secret police were actually secret
and there were no programs for tarantula literacy, caused him to suffer a
nervous breakdown. He decided the best course of action was to take a
trip to Europe, where he visited exotic countries such as Svitz,
Luftnarp, and the frightening arches of Franchia. During this time, he
also found love, in the form of his traveling companion, who sadly
disappeared at the end of their travels together before Cecil could
express his feelings.

His time in Europe left him invigorated, and so Cecil re-examined his
life. He didn't want the pressures of theatre, but he had quite a talent
and people seemed to like his voice, so he found himself gravitating
towards radio. At first it was just college radio and a few internships,
but soon he found a place he could really shine. WNYC-FM picked him up to
do announcements in between the shows. However, it was not to be, as
tragedy struck when public radio had its funding cut. Cecil was
desperate, and looked for anything, anything at all to continue his
career. Only to find that there was an opening in Night Vale looking for
someone to do community announcements over the radio. Cecil applied, and
in the dead of night, someone shoved an envelope under the door giving
him an address and driving instructions.

Cecil drove all the way, no stopping, and when he got to the studio,
found just an empty booth with a microphone and a list of announcements.
And so his career started. Occasionally, Management would give him
instructions, but eventually he just started reporting on his own. And
soon he was sending his interns out and even doing his own legwork to
bring Night Vale the news. No matter what cost, no matter who liked it,
no matter how strange. After all, it was his job, and whenever he tried
to drive out of town, it seemed like he would just loop back to the other
end of town. But it was better just not to think on that.

Abilities: Cecil can be in two places at once, as long as one of
those places is in the booth behind the microphone. He also does not
require air to breathe. Other than that, he is a normal, if highly
intelligent, human being.

First Person: [Cecil sits at his desk, poised in front of the
microphone, speaking slowly and delicately] Good evening, Ruby City. At
least. It is for me. I don't know about any of you. Perhaps you are in
the middle of burning dinner and you got caught out of doors in the rain.
How are you doing, Ruby City? [He shuffles some papers in front of
him] According to these reports, everyone is still alive. That is a
relief. I thought perhaps some of you might have died from swooping
pteranodon attacks. It is very odd that there are no swooping
pteranodons. Or black helicopters. Why is it that there are no black
helicopters? [A slight frown moves across Cecil's face] Why are they
hiding them from us. It is a little bit odd, do you not think?

Third Person: Cecil wandered the block for the fourth time, bewildered at what he saw. There were no cameras. He'd asked people about this when he came in, but no one seemed at all perturbed. But if the cameras weren't obvious, then they were hidden. He'd tried looking into the lampposts and even the furniture in his tasteful apartment, but there were no cameras anywhere. It was very strange. Perhaps they did everything by audio? But then he talked into his new bedside lamp, and it didn't seem to have any effect. This confused and perplexed him. How did anyone do information-gathering around here?

"Surely." he said, "Surely there must be some other way. Maybe they are all omniscient. Maybe they know what I am thinking even as I am thinking it." That somehow frightened him just as much, if not more. At least the secret police had to use surveillance equipment. A tightness gripped his chest, the same way it had when he'd been in New York. But it passed just as quickly. After all, there was nothing to be afraid of. He'd been in this city for two days now and nothing out of the ordinary had happened. Maybe that was the issue. It was such a departure from where he'd been that it was almost frightening.

"Well," he told himself, "It could be worse. There is no Dog Park in this city. In fact, it is pleasant. Almost like Svitz was. Except no one rolls anywhere." He felt like he needed to be back in his booth, and headed back towards the place in the city where he had made a makeshift recording studio. It wasn't at all the same, of course, but it was something akin to home, and maybe someday he would get a real one. That thought gave him comfort and a little optimism. Which was just what he needed right now.

CHARACTER
Name: Caren Ortensia
Canon: Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya
Age: Somewhere in her 20s, presumably
Timeline: End of Prisma Illya Zwei

Personality:
"It's a hobby. I enjoy getting a close look at children that get injured." - Caren, on why she decided to pose as a school nurse.

Basically Caren is... twisted. Knowing who her parents are results in this making a lot more sense, so to summarise: she is the daughter of Kirei Kotomine, a priest and Executor for the Holy Church who can only derive joy from other people's suffering and Claudia Ortensia, a sickly woman who would forgive her husband anything and died willingly in a (failed) attempt to prove he had emotions.

Caren as such is something of a combination of the two; she completely fails in the empathy category and enjoys messing people about whilst feeding off their schadenfreude and pain whilst being perfectly capable of forgiving anything... in an extremely judgemental, suspicious way. Much like her father, she has come to realise and accept her twisted personality; she acts completely without shame (that quote is her candidly explaining why she was working as a school nurse whilst observing for the Holy Church, and she doesn't bother with the skirt on her Guardian uniform because it's 'fashion') and doesn't seem to hold regrets or doubts on anything.

On her mother's side, she picked up her illness in a 'symbolic' manner (see the abilities section) and her ability to forgive anything; to the point she will often blame herself for other people's transgressions... though unlike Claudia she is most likely not being serious and just being an arsehole. She also apologises to God rather than other people when she is genuinely at fault. Completely sincerely.

As might be gathered, she's a little sadistic, finding fun in other people's panic (when she's not complaining about people panicking in the first place) and is always calm, almost amused and detached from a serious situation. When things aren't going to hell, she's generally bored and openly hopes someone will be injured (in an interesting way) just so she'll have something to do.

That said, it's not as if she lacks a conscience. She takes the matter of the Grail War seriously and has a good working relationship with Bazett. She just doesn't really sweat the little things. Or I should say; encourages the little things... she does her job, she just likes confusing the hell out of other people in the process. She is entirely aware of her own twisted personality, and uses it as much as a mask as she does just behave that way genuinely.

Background: Ahaha this is where I'd normally cheat and link to the Type-Moon wiki but unfortunately she's literally a Canon-AU so it's time for words words words and a little bit of guesswork.

In Fate/ proper, she is the daughter of Kirei Kotomine and Claudia Ortensia... but also much younger than the Caren we see here. When Claudia died, Kirei effectively abandoned her and left her with the Ortensias (hence the surname). She wound up following in his footsteps anyway, joining the Holy Church and assisting in exorcisms and daemon hunting due to her rare ability.

Prism!Caren is much older, by at least 5 to 8 years, and has most likely followed the same path; she is an agent of the Holy Church described as a 'Guardian' and Bazett's backup in the card recovery operation ...she has, also, become the school nurse in Illya's school, for the reasons mentioned in the personality section.

Where things get potentially interesting is that her father Kirei is presumably still alive and has never taken part in the Holy Grail War. Her mother presumably died much as regular canon and as a result she was abandoned in the same way. Most likely he is still alive and somewhere in Italy (the only Kirei we've met in Prisma Illya is in another another alternate world, where he is a tofu chef).

In any case, she was responsible for observing the mess revolving around the Cards in Fuyuki and to a degree observing the Einzberns owing to their connection to the Holy Grail War (likely the reason she obtained a position in Illya's school, though nurse specifically was... yeah...) as well as backing up Bazett, as noted. Her role was strictly as an observer, which makes sense given her 'ability'.

Abilities: She possesses an odd and extremely rare genetic ability named "Masochistic Pneumatic Automatism Diathesis" which basically makes her a living radar for daemons; she experiences physical pain when near them and if anyone is possessed by a daemon in the area, she will share their injuries. This is the main reason she assists in exorcisms for the Holy Church; she's extremely useful for tracking them down. She cannot however fight them herself; she possesses no magic circuits and obviously the effects of her ability can incapacitate her all on their own.

She does however possess the Shroud of Magdalene, a magical red cloth that can be used to forcibly bind men, though if they are physically attacked the effect will fail. She can more or less direct it telekinetically, but only for its stated purpose.

Finally, thanks in part to the constant injuries her ability makes her pick up, she has a lot of practical experience in first aid, though she doesn't appear to have any formal training or qualifications in the matter.

First Person: Caren on the RC Testdrive meme

Third Person:
The sun was shining, the City's sparse-ish bird collection was singing, the pews were empty and Claudia Ortensia was utterly bored.

This was not, in particular, anything new. The Church had made life interesting - and periodically painful, but that was the demons' fault - so she had followed the Church, and that meant sitting around in the local Cathedral hoping someone would walk with a broken leg or two.

Not that she wished broken legs on anyone of course, but if such was God's will she would prefer to be in its vicinity. It would be her duty as a woman of God to aid such unfortunates, after all.

...How suddenly she missed Bazett. That woman could always be counted on to bring her the most interesting injuries. That berserker woman would have had a field day in this place...

Ah... what to do...

Why, a lazy day such as this almost demanded that some desperate soul would barge in any moment n-

Oh no, another Habaki.

I am honestly not sure which Ageha counts as when apping. Canon or fandom....she's a canon character, she just...doesn't show up until the end.
