APPLICATIONS

✗ Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.

If they possess any abilities, learned or otherwise, they need to go in this section. <b>Network/Actionspam Sample:</b> This is the format that will be used in rubycity_rp and must be in action form (brackets). We are looking for a minimum of 6 to 10 lines that give us an idea of how your character speaks/acts. This sample may be linked, either from a musebox, different game or our test drive, provided that the linked example was written within the last six months. <b>Prose Log Sample:</b> This is the format that will be used in rubycity_logs and must be a minimum length of 250 words. As well as their general posture and mannerisms as well, like quirks or vocal tics. <b>Chosen PB:</b> First come, first serve. Please check the taken PB page. You are also welcome to use your own or commissioned art, or icons that do not depict your characters face but facets of their personality as well. <b>Items with character at canon point</b>: Tell us what your character has with them at the point you have pulled them from - this includes any animal companions. <b>Personality:</b> This should be self explanatory. However, when discussing personality please include why they have particular personality traits, how this effects their lives and interactions. Please provide us with insight to your character and their behaviour, their likes, dislikes and fears, as well as your understanding of them. The minimum will be three well-written paragraphs, but you should be able to write more. <b>World Information:</b> Please go as in depth as you can about the world. A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

CHARACTER

Personality:
Among Mewtwo's notable characteristics, aggression is the most prominent. He is prone to attack when feeling threatened, and takes more things than he
probably should as a direct threat. The aggression is thought to be a product of two things; the vast amount of power his body holds, as well as a side effect from the genetic manipulation that created him - a phenomena that is mirrored in the real world. However, unlike many Pokemon, he does not necessarily enjoy battles. He does not object to them, but sees a battle for 'fun' as a simple waste of time. As time has gone on, Mewtwo has addressed his aggression and has attempted to temper it by keeping his emotions in check, putting on a stoic facade.

Despite his facade, Mewtwo's emotions mirror that of a scared ten-year-old. His vast intellect and the voice he chose to represent his telepathic communications all make it easy to forget that biologically and chronologically, Mewtwo is still very much a child. A child who lived most of his life as a slave and weapon. As such, he is extremely leery of social interactions, always watching for ulterior motives to kindnesses shown. There have been very few instances that he has seen an act of true altruism, and even then he is unsure it was truly altruistic in nature, choosing instead to see the world through a lens of conflict and self-interest.

In the early days of his life, he feared and hated humans vehemently, especially his creator - Giovanni. He hated humans to the point that he saw everything humanity had touched - Pokemon included - as tainted and wanted to rid the world of that taint and start anew. However, through the actions of a single boy, he was shown the polar opposite of Giovanni, and recognized the potential for good that humans represented. Upon leaving for his mountain fortress in Jhoto, he pledged to never impede humanity again, though he refuses to aid them. Some of his creations suspect that he has a growing soft spot for humanity, though he denies it at every turn.

Abilities:
Being a psychic-type Pokemon, telekinesis and telepathy come as natural to him as breathing. He can erect psychic barriers that can intercept most if not all attacks, and his psychic abilities are are second to none. In addition to his psychic prowess, he can harness varying other forms of energy. Among his capabilities, are the ability to manipulate ice, fire, thunder, and even his chi - something more associated with fighters. However, these abilities are more difficult for him to exercise and he prefers to use his psychic powers whenever possible.

First Person:
[The feed starts with the camera focused on Mewtwo's face. He stares at the device inquisitively as it sways and bobs, as if floating on water. After a moment, the camera begins to turn and weave, revealing more of his features. A clubbed tail, three-fingered hands ending in large balls, and a glimpse of a second neck all come into view as it turns in the air.]

Odd that someone would see fit to bring me here and give me this device, with no attempts to enforce their will upon me... [His face comes back into view, a more piercing look in his eyes.] More disturbing is that this... thing can translate my thoughts into sound. I do not like it.

Third Person:

It had been roughly a week since his arrival in this place. Mewtwo had tried over the course of that week to find a suitable place he could call a temporary shelter, but was unable to find any. He disliked being in human buildings, because of the cramped spaces and proximety to humans. The park was out of the question, when every time he thought he'd found a secluded enough to spend any kind of time meditating, the beasts always found him and ran him out. For the time being, he had settled for perching on rooftops, safely away from prying eyes. However, he had not been able to adequately rest, nor had he eaten much since arriving.

Now, he had reached his limit. Unable to find any berries he knew he would be able to digest, his involuntary fasting had sapped his strength. Unable to keep himself aloft with his psychic powers, he had fallen - hard - into the fountain located in the center of what he had come to know as the heart of the city. Small cuts littered his skin from his hasty retreats from the beasts inhabiting the park, with bruises forming from the fall. He didn't know what would come of him, but there was one thing he could not help but think as the watch sputtered to life, translating thought to sound.

"I was created to be the most powerful Pokemon alive... to be unconquerable, unstoppable, invincible. No man could best me, no Pokemon could rival my power. And yet here I am. Broken and defeated. And what should I call my victor? Some unfathomable beast in possession of power surpassing my own? No... brought down by exhaustion. My own body fights me... my mind fogs... and here I lie, at the mercy of the elements. I believe humans have a saying for this... 'O how the mighty have fallen'..."
