Not a problem. I was honestly expecting there to be issues with exactly the things you mentioned. It was just a case of me trying to be far more creative than the situation required. I am revising as we speak, and unforeseen circumstances aside, the revised app should be in by this evening.

Thank you for your notes and patience.

Re: Revised Appearance, History, and Personality

[personal profile] notyourdamnmechanic 2013-06-09 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Appearance: Nyte stands just at five feet and five inches, though her demeanor and posturing seems to add several perceived inches to her naturally small stature. Her exact weight is unknown, and to call her "fat" would only be correct in the way that "fat" is the opposite of "thin" which is not a word Nyte would use to describe herself. A more accurate way to describe Nyte is as one who is quite blessed in the areas of chest and hindquarters, with a subtle protrusion of the belly, and strong arms and thighs. Long flows of very curly red hair float to around her lower back. She tends to keep it down and loose because even though she might not admit it, she takes enormous joy in the moments where the wind catches it and blows it behind and around her. Typically dressed in flattering jeans and whatever available shirt she decided to throw on under her trademark black hoodie, Nyte is quite obviously a creature of comfort. Due to an allergy to virtually all metal, she wears very little jewelry. The only exceptions being the seven surgical steel rings spaced evenly apart in either ear, and a stone heart pendant she ties around her neck with a long piece of black cord.

When Nyte speaks, her familial ties to England are quite evident. It's not that she uses an English dialect, per se, but rather that traditional English pronunciations permeate her non-regional American accent. This combined with her excellent posture and exquisite manners causes many to assume she is secretly the wild, rebellious daughter of some wealthy waspish family in the Northeastern part of the US, who has come to slum it with the less refined members of the Southern populace.

Personality:
Nyte's personality has been directly derived from a childhood for which she holds no great affection. She feels that her parents placed a high importance on their careers, and even though they have spent years trying to convince their children that the experiences they have gained will help them as adults, Nyte is fairly certain that the ones they are actually trying to convince are themselves. She doesn't share a particularly close relationship with her parents or her siblings, but her grandfather is incredibly important to her. He taught her that learning, whether from others or yourself, is the most important thing you can do in this life. Nyte latched on to this idea, and has spent her life learning as much as she possibly can.

Through learning, Nyte discovered that in books, the people are exactly what they have been written to be, and no one ever really disappoints you. Nyte reads constantly now, as a means to escape the bitter reality she views her life to have been. She places a heavy importance on the ability to trust people, and even though she herself is quite trustworthy, the events of her life have made trusting others incredibly hard to do.

When Nyte does manage to develop friendships, she holds them very dear and to her, romantic relationships have never been anything more than friendships with sex. Her early life, spontaneity, and sarcastic sense of humour cause her to be viewed as the "cool friend," but Nyte's tendency to reject sincere compliments usually leads her back to a place of slight self loathing.

The one aspect of herself that Nyte does take pride in is her intelligence. Her fair grasp of French, Italian, Greek, and German often leads to her to be of a showoff, and throw large and impressisive foreign words and phrases into regular conversation. It is never her intent to use her intelligence to insult anyone else's, but her honesty at any cause policy does have a tendency to offend those around her.

In response to what she views as having been a completely abnormal childhood, Nyte’s goals for her future are centered around the idea of leading a normal life. It is for this reason that she made the decision to move to America, a country she has always viewed as being entirely ordinary. She plans to work basic jobs to pay the rent for the rest of her life. As long as she is allowed to make her own choices, learn every day, and create her own adventures, she is completely content.

History: Amelia March Thompson was born in Cambridge, just after midnight on March 6, 1997. As her siblings continued to be born during the daytime, she was quickly awarded the nickname of “Nyte.”

Due to being raised by a multinational pair of authors and Cambridge professors, Nyte was home-schooled along with her five siblings by her maternal grandfather until the age of 12. During this time she lived in both England and Cyprus, and studied several languages alongside a student’s basic math, literature, science, and history. At 12 she along with her siblings were sent to boarding schools, and Nyte chose to attend school in Marseille as a rebellious means of escaping what she viewed to be her parents’ negligent plan for forcing experiences upon their children.

While in France, Nyte quickly grew bored and began to act out. She became increasingly violent and sarcastic, and began experimenting with drugs and alcohol, the latter of which she still indulges in with too much regularity. Her behavioural issues soon affected her schooling, and she was almost expelled. After several bitter conversations with her parents, she disappeared for several months and resurfaced with an online GED and plans to leave Europe for good.

She had seen the hometowns of every member of her mother’s family, but had not once set foot in the birthplace of her father, and as far as she could figure, America was just about the farthest she could go. She booked a flight to Tennessee, a flight that would prove to be her final memory. “So there I was, drunk, on a plane, reeking of cat’s piss, clutching a rosary, and about to die.”

Re: { [CANON] Scott McCall || Teen Wolf || reserve || 2 of 4 }

[personal profile] notmymccalling 2013-06-14 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Scott is your typical ‘hero’ type, as well as your average teenager. As average as one can be with heightened senses and that whole pesky ‘wolf thing’ on the full moon. He’s extremely protective of his friends and those around him. He always wants and tries to do the right thing. Scott takes it upon himself to take responsibility for others, even if they hardly know eachother. Derek has pointed this out numerous times, though he didn’t quite seem to agree with the behavior.

He comes off as somewhat dense, but that is mostly due to his naïveté. His grades in school aren’t the best, but a lot of it has to do with being too distracted and missing tests. He’s made some bad choices where school is concerned; putting life or death before his grades would not be one of them.

Scott admits to Isaac that he has no idea what he’s doing—that he never knows what he’s doing. Despite this, it almost always seems to work out. He can think pretty quick on his feet, and has the luck to pull off most of what he does. The times he utterly falls on his face, someone like Derek, Stiles, or Isaac is there to catch him.

It’s often that his feelings for Allison get in the way of his better judgment. He is so in love with her, that when she’s at odds with his friends, he finds it impossible to choose. Fortunately, he hasn’t yet had to, as things have worked themselves out. He is known to respond violently when she is threatened. Scott engaged in a fight with Jackson when he walked in on the other teen confronting Allison in the boy’s locker room. Like any teenager, when his heart is broken, the world just ceases to exist in his eyes. Their first break-up caused him severe emotional distress, but when Allison breaks up with him in the end of Season Two, he doesn’t let it bother him because he is willing to wait for her.

His best friend Stiles is another top priority person in his life. Stilinski was there when he was bitten. It was their friendship and mischievous behavior that landed Scott in the woods at the time his would-be Alpha was roaming around. Even after finding out Scott was turning into a werewolf, Stiles was there for him. Albeit, somewhat timid about it at first, given Scott’s outbursts.

Even as the typical good guy, he has his moments where his actions are driven by something other than good intentions. During the full moon, Scott almost displays characteristics of a macho bully. During the full moon his aggression and desire are heightened, overtaking his normally kind and goodhearted personality. He is receptive to advances of the opposite sex, kissing Lydia when she hits on him and even antagonizing Stiles about it. Something he would normally never do.

Where Derek’s key to staying sane during the full moon is anger, Scott’s is love. This shows a lot about his character. Most view the bite as a gift, Scott sees it as a curse. His enhanced speed and strength are mostly only useful in protecting his friends and loved ones. These are the things that make Scott McCall, Scott McCall.

Background:
Scott McCall
Teen Wolf Wiki

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: Werewolf. Supernatural speed. Superhuman strength. Heightened senses. Good natured. Always tries to do the right thing.
Weaknesses: Wolfsbane. Mountain Ash. His Alpha’s call.

Abilities:
Scott is a werewolf and as such, strength, speed, and heightened senses all come with the package. Along with this, he possesses claws and fangs when transformed. In this state, his eyes shift to a golden color, even taking on a glow from time to time or in the beginnings of his transformation. He’s able to keep in control of himself—for the most part—during the full moon after some practice. However, on these nights, he shows a slight increase in desire and aggression. As a werewolf he is able to transfer pain away from injured or dying animals. Just by entering a room, he can tell if there are other werewolves present.

Re: { [CANON] Scott McCall || Teen Wolf || reserve || 4 of 4 }

[personal profile] notmymccalling 2013-06-14 09:50 am (UTC)(link)
First Person:
[Scott steps off the train before he even realizes he was on one. Seriously, when did that happen? It’s like he was on auto-pilot until his feet touch the pavement. Did he wolf out? He doesn’t smell any blood, so he’s pretty sure he didn’t hurt anyone if he did wolf out. In fact, he smells something… strange.

There are so many scents in the air, he can’t even process them all. It’s like standing in the perfume aisle in some store after a hoard of kids have been through. They have sprayed every test bottle on the shelf, creating an unholy cacophony of smells that abuse the senses.

His surroundings appear somewhat old-fashioned compared to his home town, but they hold an air of class about them. As he’s looking around, he hears the train pull away from the station. The sound is almost deafening to his sensitive ears, having been paying attention with all of his enhanced senses in such a strange place.

Scott covers his ears and winces in pain, dropping down to one knee. It’s then that he notices the strange weight in his pocket. When the assault to his hearing passes, he delves into that pocket and retrieves the small watch. Turning it over a few times, he decides it can’t hurt to push a button or two, can it? In doing so, he unwittingly initiates a video network broadcast.

Rather than sniff the watch, seeing as his nose is on overdrive anyway, he observes it, waiting for something to happen after pressing the button. (Dignity intact.)]

Third Person:
Scott fell back onto Stilinski’s bed with his arms folded behind his head. He frowned at the ceiling, deep in thought. Stiles sat in his computer chair, spinning to face his unusually quiet best friend. The frown on his face was a sure sign that the other was thinking too much. He opened his mouth to comment on it, but Scott spoke first.

“Do you think I’m supercilious?” Scott asked, seeming truly distraught.

Stiles closed his mouth, his own face drawing into a frown. “What?”

“Supercilious. It’s the Word of the Day on ‘Word Think’ dot com.” Scott answered, sitting up and pivoting on the bed to look at Stiles. His chocolate brown eyes seemed clouded with concern.

“I think… You’re being super-silly-ous.” Stiles suggested helpfully, smile included. Scott’s frown didn’t waver, but his eyes brightened considerably. So, Stiles decided he needed to banish the thought completely. “If anyone is supercilious, it’s Jackson.”

“I was a complete jerk to you when Lydia kissed me.” Yes, it was a brilliant idea to bring that one up, Scott. He mentally scolded himself for it.

“Full moon.” Stiles pinned him with a look that dared Scott to argue.

The dark haired teen groaned, dropping back to the bed again, frustration tugging at his features. “That’s not a good enough excuse, Stiles! I can’t keep doing things like that when the full moon comes around each month. It’s like that’s the ‘real me’ or something. Without inhibitions, I’m a real dick.”

“Scott,” Stiles began, looking seriously at his distressed friend. “everyone’s a real dick without inhibitions. That’s why they exist. Without them, we’d all be a bunch of—er… that came out weird.”

The werewolf seemed to smile, lifting just his head to make eye contact with Stiles. “Guess you’re right. And you did get me back for it.”

“Yeah, well. You cheated.” Stiles pouted light-heartedly at the other teen.

CHARACTER
Name:
Remiel. Also called Ramiel and Jeremiel in some places, by humanity. The Compassion of God, the Angel of Music, the Mercy of God, the Angel of Hope, the Thunder of God, etc. On Earth he goes by the name Sherwin Nemo (or occasionally Remy), because Angels and Fallen are terrible about laying low and having non-ridiculous names. It's something he's grudgingly come to embrace. Originally this trait was to discourage Angels from going to Earth too often, but now, after so many have Fallen, it's just made things more difficult for them and become a bit of a joke.

Age:
His human form appears to be in his early thirties. He's actually slightly older than the universe itself.

Appearance:
His human form is well-built, though the most strenuous activity he ever seems to do is gardening. Six foot even, caucasian, with middle-brown hair and light brown eyes. Remiel has a friendly, open face that is usually bearing a pleasant smile or a relaxed grin. His hair is shortish, but manages to be incredibly messy all the same; Remiel usually looks like he just rolled out of bed, despite never sleeping. He wears t-shirts and shorts, for the most part, as well as worn sandals, but occasionally he chooses to wear business casual if he's bearing a message or something likewise official. (All of his t-shirts are music-related: bands, brands, or orchestras. Or sometimes musicals.) His skin is completely unmarred of scars or other such marks. The only thing he bears is calluses on his fingers, from playing musical instruments, and dirt under his fingernails. He has a warm, low voice, and he's very good at singing with it; his normal way of speaking is as relaxed as the rest of him. Remiel isn't much of a fan of standing up unless he has to, and is usually found slouched against something, sitting down, or laying down.

This is, of course, his human form. His true form is metaphysical and particularly giant, as an archangel. Not being containable on a world normally, he, like all Angels, Fallen and Demons, can "scrunch" himself into a human form. Remiel is one of two archangels (the other being his brother Azrael) who can tolerate being so small for a long amount of time. Remiel has been in this particular human form for fifty years. Because it has not aged, though he could if he wanted, he tries to make friends sparingly and away from his home base of Concord, Massachusetts. Ultimately, though, he prefers not to think about his human form.

Generally speaking, the older the angel, the more terrifying the true form and the less likely that the human brain can process it. If a human is likely to see one, they'll just be knocked unconscious by the horror of it. And Remiel is the seventh angel created. In the words of his older sister Sariel, "He'd knock someone's metaphysical socks off, at best. At worst, their brains would melt and then explode." "Metaphysically?" "No."

Remiel does possess wings — four of them, which resemble those of a barn owl. It's possible for a sufficiently powerful creature to see them, though he normally keeps them well hidden from ordinary human sight. Manifesting them is a sign of trust in an individual. Or requires the knowledge that they won't freak out on him about it. He often has them out, when he's alone and knows that he is. They're very large wings, which are another reason they're kept firmly tucked away in the presence of others (in a pocket dimension sort of way).

[OC] Remiel || No Reserve || 2 of ?

Chosen PB: Christian Bale.

Personality:
Remiel's defining point is his compassion for other creatures, and his gentleness when dealing with them. "The Compassion of God" is not a meaningless title, with him, as he was partly designed to be this way. His kindness tempers the angry flair that some of his siblings can get into, when riled, and Remiel is used to providing the "voice of reason" in an argument. Sometimes, his kindness is a double-edged sword. Though he always tries to provide the best advice that he can, he can sometimes err on the side of understating things. And unlike several of his siblings, who don't lie at all and hit everyone with blunt truth, Remiel is more than accustomed to the concept of the "white lie" and sometimes tells a few. As such, he's sometimes the most "human" of the Archangels. He makes mistakes, but he's willing to admit to most of them. Though his older siblings might want to think that they are infallible and always know the right thing to do, Remiel knows that they're all just guessing at this point.

As the above suggests, he's a little more flexible in his morality than some of his siblings. Though he never strays to a truly dark place, Remiel chooses to be supportive rather than judgmental. He's friendly with several of his Fallen kin, even though this is frowned upon, especially for an Archangel, because he can sympathize with their position. He can't approve of it, as he is completely supportive of humanity and their being treated fairly, but he can understand why his Fallen kin feel the way that they do. Because of this ability to sympathize, he's picked up quite a few human friends along the way — and has felt the dismay of when they've died, leaving him behind. But ultimately he views death as a neutral act, because of one of his closest siblings being the Angel of Death. He knows that Azrael treats those he gets well, and that he can visit them anytime he likes. So while death is not a wanted event, he sheds no more tears over it as he did when he was a much younger Angel.

Remiel tackles many of his issues in this somewhat zen-like way, which occasionally leads to others thinking that he doesn't care. While his caring is indeed one of his dominant personality traits, he doesn't get upset over very much, anymore. He has a slightly goofy, mellow nature, which often disarms others into forgetting what he is. This isn't on purpose, but he's pleased when others are relaxed around him instead of fearing (incorrectly) that he'll Smite them at any moment. Remiel's thousand years on Earth have taught him a lot about human behavior, customs, and the trickiness of truly free will.

This is not to say that angering him, and getting him riled up, is impossible — just difficult. At his core, Remiel is very much an Archangel, one of the oldest creatures in Creation, and his simply being tired led to him dwelling on Earth and starting to drift from his family at large. He still has an intense sense of loyalty to his family, but now it's to them as individuals rather than an idealistic view of their purpose, as he once held. This same loyalty carries to his friends, in a lesser but still very strong capacity. Hurting those he loves — and he's very open with his affections — is a decent way of angering him. And it's not exactly a good idea. As his siblings will tell you, long ago Remiel once slew an entire army in a night while acting on his Father's orders.

He might seem to be somewhat of a floppy, gentle puppy, but behind that kindness is an old creature who will defend humanity at any cost.

World Information:
On the surface, the world Remiel comes from is normal and much like our own. The year is 2012, and the events pass by much like our own. As far as the general public is concerned, at least. The Earth was, in fact, created by a singular God, the process watched over by his eight Archangels. The Earth is not the only world that he created, but it's His favorite and as a result the Archangels were assigned to watch over it. They do so from Heaven, which the Angels off-handedly describe as being "up the stairs" from Earth (it, too, exists in a pocket dimension). But one of the Archangels, Lucifer, disagreed about the Earth being so important. He, and a few Angels who supported him, decided to show his Father just how awful the Earth was, by inciting hate and misery within the human race, as was his special talent with emotions.

His Father was, to put it lightly, displeased. A certain Flood was set into motion, and Lucifer was cast down from Heaven — along with all of the Angels who supported him. Lucifer created for himself a realm, the Abyss, where he could bring the worst of humanity as they died and torture them for all eternity. Some of the Angels, the Fallen, kept their angelic ideals but either served Lucifer or the Abyss in some fashion (though they were not allowed back into Heaven). And some of the Angels, who would later be called Demons, succumbed to the Abyss' seductive power entirely, becoming little more than Lucifer's attack dogs. In order to take his souls, Lucifer brutally attacked one of his brothers, Azrael, the Archangel of Death, and stole some of that reaping ability from him. (As a result, Azrael no longer speaks of his brother. Somewhat understandably.)

In Heaven, the remaining seven Archangels stood vigilant over humanity, trying to keep the world in balance — and keep human souls out of the Abyss. This task was made much more difficult by the fact that other things had survived the great flood, too. Monsters, spawned in part by humanity's terrible fall, who began to fill the books of legend. The activity of these creatures is closely monitored by less powerful Angels, who report to one of the Archangels; if one kills a human, they themselves are killed. Heaven watches things closely. The herald of the problems that Lucifer caused before the Flood was an abrupt swelling in the monster population of the world, and none of the Archangels want that to repeat again.

Mostly in part because, for a long time, their Father has been in a completely different part of the universe and they can't reach him. Not only that, but Lucifer has not been heard from in a very long time and there are rumors that a few of the Fallen are looking to usurp him. It's an uneasy time.

A R C H A N G E L S

Created before the universe, the eight Archangels were God's first children. They were his proudest works of art, before he created humans, and are the most powerful creatures in existence — aside from their Father, of course, and certain Constants. Archangels, in their true forms, are vast, metaphysical, and cannot be looked at by a mortal without that mortal perishing. Because of this, the Archangels were the first to take human form when interacting with humans. Archangels can only be killed by other Archangels, and permanently injuring them is impossible by mortals. An iron blade dipped in human blood will cause them agony, but the damage will heal. In the absence of their Father, the remaining seven Archangels have full control of Heaven and their younger and less powerful siblings. Archangels have large, feathered wings that they can hide from the view of less powerful creatures, the appearance varying between them. Michael, Barachiel, Gabriel and Lucifer have six wings each. Uriel, Sariel, Remiel and Azrael have four. Archangels all carry very powerful Divine Blades, the 'flaming swords' of legend (though the fire is a giant exaggeration; they're just hot to the touch).

A N G E L S

Beings created by God to watch over their Father's mortal creations, living and otherwise. They were created after the building blocks of the universe, but were around long before humanity was. Most Angels are not nearly as powerful as the Archangels, and as a result their true forms are not lethal to gaze upon. (They're still quite unsettling/terrifying, of course; their common greeting was fear not for a reason.) These days, though, most Angels simply take human form, when away from Heaven. It's easier. Unlike Archangels, Angels can be injured and killed by mortals — though it's not exactly a walk in the park. Once the Angel has been surprised and subdued, which takes time and effort, they must be killed by an iron blade dipped in human blood. The human blood is symbolic of them failing to protect a human life, their most sacred duty as outlined by their Father. Angels have two wings, and, like Archangels, the appearance of the wings is unique to each Angel. They're quite large and can be hidden away from human view. An Angel can always feel the presence of another Angel, even a more powerful one. Angels wield Consecrated Blades, which are less powerful versions of Divine Blades.

F A L L E N

The Fallen are Angels who rebelled with Lucifer, but managed to keep their angelic minds and their wings. They're particularly strong individuals, though they're less powerful, on the whole, than Angels. Fallen are (for the most part) still very ordered, and form ranks within their numbers like they did in Heaven. Their leader is Lucifer, though he's been missing for some time. Fallen still have a shred of their old selves left, unlike Demons, and so they tend to be less evil and chaotic. But in many ways, they're much more dangerous. Not only are they more powerful, but they have the bulk of Demons at their beck and call. Each Fallen carries themselves as though they were still one of God's consecrated warriors, despite how tarnished they are.

D E M O N S

Demons are Angels who fell too hard and too fast to keep a firm grip on their minds, losing themselves to the evils that had been washing over the human race right before the Flood. Servants of the Fallen, Demons are much more numerous but much less powerful. While still more than a match for humans, they're firmly aware of their station in life — for the most part — and take savage joy in whatever evils the Fallen allow them to do. All they remember is that humans are to blame, somehow, for their station in life. As evil as they are, they view humanity as worse still.

C O N S T A N T S

Entities who are personifications of a force or idea, brought to life by the popularity of the concept or by its sheer age. Death, for example, is a Constant, and a particularly powerful one at that. Constants cannot be killed, due to how they came to 'life' of their own, but they can be locked away or injured. Not that this is a wise thing to do, in most cases.

M O N S T E R S

All of the monsters in this particular world are human-shaped, as they were spawned from the sins of humanity, though some of them stretch that definition. Most of them attempt to live normal lives, to escape the notice of Angels who police their numbers. The moment that they show their true selves to humans, or take a human life, they become Wanted by Heaven.

[OC] Remiel || No Reserve || 3 of ?

[personal profile] angelofhope 2013-06-15 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
History:
Remiel was created by God just before the creation of the universe. He was the eighth Archangel created. The others were Michael, the Angel of War; Lucifer, the Angel of Light; Uriel, the Angel of Fire; Gabriel, the Angel of Messages; Barachiel, the Angel of Lightning; Azrael, the Angel of Death; and Sariel, the Angel of Healing. Remiel was from a slightly different stock than his siblings, noticeably different from the start. Though he was mentored by Gabriel as a lesser Messenger, he had a certain lightness — a gentleness — that the others didn't, for the most part. His purpose and affinity, after all, was hope, rather than war and fire. This is what he was meant to impart to the mortal creations of his Father, and he watched them with great warmth.

As for an official duty, he imparted visions, primarily. Prophetic dreams. Those who received them were sometimes not treated as kindly by others, he noticed. They were mocked for their abilities, or feared, or tormented. He tried to make his visions as gentle as he could, but sometimes the truth was simply too brutal. A few of the other Archangels, such as Uriel and Michael, did not understand why he bothered. But Remiel had been partly created to care, above all else. He didn't let their derision or bemusement affect him. When it was required, Remiel was a fierce warrior. But the rest of the time, he preferred to stay out of conflict. And soon enough, events conspired to make them forget this bit of it. His elder brother, Lucifer, and a throng of other angels, did not see what was so important about Earth, and decided to make an example of its people. They decided to tip the balance, to show their Father how misguided he was in trying to protect humanity.

Remiel was forced to show his charges visions of their Father's angry rebuttal: the Flood, which would wipe away all of the humans who had been corrupted by Lucifer. He passed on these visions, knowing that many of the recipients, if not all of them, would die. That was the curse in knowing the future, but Remiel, as a caring soul, was extremely upset by the development. He watched, vexed, as the Flood did its terrible work, and then he watched with equal horror as Lucifer and his supporters were cast down from Heaven. He watched them become Fallen and Demons, until he couldn't take it any longer and hid for a time. It was his sister Sariel who finally coaxed him out. They were all upset, naturally, but life had to go on. Humanity had to recover from its soaked ashes.

And so, Remiel continued to pass on his visions, tempered by true grief for the first time in his life. The Fall changed all of the Archangels, but Remiel did not change the most. Losing his kin made him appreciative of those he still had. He, Sariel, and Azrael became nearly inseparable as a result, a "terrible trio" as described by Barachiel. He encouraged the other two to come out of their shells, Sariel refined their senses of humor, and Azrael provided sage words of advice and wisdom. But eventually, friction was created between the other Archangels. Michael, Barachiel, and Gabriel could agree on very little, and this tension spilled into all of their relationships. Two things happened to make it worse: Lucifer assaulted Azrael and took some of his soul-reaping ability, to steal souls for his Abyss, and their Father... suddenly vanished, to a lonely part of the universe, leaving them in charge with very little instruction.

Some of the Archangels stopped talking to each other entirely, when it wasn't required, and fights started to break out with very little provocation. Unable to take the strain, Remiel decided to start spending more time on Earth. He received less visions to pass on from his Father, but he still received them — and thus he knew, comfortingly, that his Father was still out there. Gabriel had the same reassurance, but the other Archangels were antsy. Some of them feared that their Father had found a new favorite obsession, and that he would not return.

Since then, Lucifer has all but disappeared and the Abyss is disputed territory.

Remiel, rather than worry about this, puts his effort into humanity. While he makes frequent trips to Heaven, to check on Sariel and Azrael, he spends most of his time in Concord, Massachusetts, where he has a giant garden to tend and human neighbors to be friendly with. He spends a fair bit of time traveling, as well, seeing the sights of the Earth and, with the exception of the garden, not staying in one place too long. A man who doesn't age is suspicious, after all. It's only very recently that he's taken up gardening, and his neighbors, not knowing what else to think, have bought his story of a family of men who look very similar to one another, generation after generation. He's had very few bumps in the road, in recent years, although a Demon named Suluth did foolishly attempt to kill him in 1957. As penance, Remiel bound him with magic into a red yo-yo. Sometimes he takes Suluth to see bad movies, and makes him listen to terrible music, until such a time as he thinks the Demon has earned his freedom.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Archangels are most vulnerable to other Archangels, and to Angels (and in broad terms, celestial beings), rather tragically. Originally, this was intended to keep them from being killed. Their Creator never thought that they would harm each other. But after the Fall happened, this no longer applied. Now, as a result, most of the celestial host holds a certain trepidation about each other, nervous about being turned on in such a chaotic time. Remiel feels this less than others, as he's very trusting (sometimes too much), but very deep down he, too, has the same worries.

As mentioned previously, Remiel, due to why he was created, can sometimes fall prey to being "too nice" and telling white lies to make others feel better. He tries very hard not to fall into this pattern, but he cares very deeply about other creatures and can't stand to see them upset or saddened. (Which is yet another reason for his goofy attitude; it makes others smile.) This is certainly a fault in the eyes of many of his older siblings.

While he's very loyal and protective, sometimes the desire to stay out of things — which has kept him in Massachusetts for a long time now — conflicts with that, which means that Remiel sometimes does not fly to action when he should. Others might mistake it for laziness, but the Archangel gets involved where he wants and not any place sooner. Once he's made a decision, he usually stands by it. Even if that means not helping a friend in trouble. It's where that famous angelic arrogance comes into play.

Abilities:
O R M E ' E E R

Or Me'eer is Remiel's Divine Blade, the Shining Light. [credit] Or Me'eer, like all Divine Blades, is extremely resilient to damage and a very powerful weapon. While it can't kill every type of being on its own, it can do severe damage to all of them. A Divine Blade is the only thing that can kill an Archangel. Luckily, they have a compulsion effect that prevents lesser-minded creatures from being able to steal them and use them against their owner. Demons and Fallen can't get around this, although Angels and other Archangels can.

A N G E L I C R E S I L I E N C E

Remiel's body is just a created thing for him to inhabit so as not to endanger the minds of humans around him. Damage done to his human form will not translate to his true form unless done by a Divine Blade, or another Archangel. He does not need to sleep, breathe, or eat, though he can do any of those things. His human form is ten times stronger than a normal human, as well, and he is capable of speaking every known human language, in order to pass messages onto all parts of the globe.

S M I T I N G

The classic. If properly roused (and it takes more for him, than most), Remiel is capable of focusing the divine energy that he's made of to deal severe damage against other living things and objects. This is like being roasted by the world's most powerful flamethrower. Creatures immune to fire take less damage, but still take some due to it not being true fire. Only humans, Demons, and Fallen can be smited; Angels cannot smite each other.

F L I G H T

Angels can, of course, use their wings to fly. Normal human vision isn't particularly good at spotting angels in flight, similar to a radio being jammed. (Blurry sightings account for "UFO" mania, as the Angels' wings will become very bright.) Remiel can take a few passengers with him, as well, owing to his age and strength, whereas an Angel is limited to one.

H E A L I N G

Remiel is not as strong at healing as his sister Sariel, who can cure diseases and any other ailment. But Remiel is capable of mending broken bones and other shallower injuries with a touch. Repeated use of this ability will tire him.

M E S S E N G E R

Remiel is the Angel of Hope, and a bearer of such messages as well as prophetic visions (these visions come from his Father, rather than himself, and so he hasn't delivered one in quite some time). Letters and other messages will invariably find their way to him, even if they aren't stamped or are unsent. This process takes a day or two, unlike Gabriel, his older sibling and the more powerful Messenger, who will receive such messages the second they're written.

M U S I C

On top of a decent singing voice, which he purposefully constructed in his current physical form, Remiel is the Angel of Music and has heard each new song that humanity has come up with. He knows them all like the back of his hand, even ditties composed in showers that were never written down. (Though sometimes even he has trouble with his memory...) He can also play several musical instruments.

M I S C

In addition to the above, Remiel has small pockets of information that he's gathered from millions of years of being alive. He's also a decent cook and a great gardener, from hanging out on Earth exclusively for the past thousand years.

First Person:
[A man with messy brown hair blinks, puzzled, at the camera for a moment, as if not sure he's seeing things correctly. Then he smiles, though it's tighter than his smile usually is. He cards his fingers through his hair, giving the area he's in a careful once-over. The archangel is calculating, trying to figure out his position from all of his years of memory. He's coming up with a blank, and it troubles him more than he lets on.]

Hi. I'm... not sure what I'm doing here, or where here is, but it's... pretty.

[Remiel has always admired both human ingenuity and the more natural creations of his father. It's part of why he likes gardening so much. He likes seeing the little sprouts come up and grow. The shapes are like artworks of their own.]

Maybe I should start with a question. Is there anyone out there? And who do I talk to, to get a roof over my head?

[And maybe a plot of land to tinker with, or a balcony to turn into a hanging garden. But that's several questions away, at least, or extraneous altogether if certain answers are given...]

And do you remember how this lyric ends? It's been driving me crazy. 'Don't you draw the Queen of Diamonds, boy...'

Third Person:
He almost failed to notice the butterfly in his hair entirely, if not for the small creature suddenly slipping and finding purchase on his nose. Rather than waving it off, as some might, Remiel instead offered the white and black shape a grin and steadied it with a finger. It was a White Morpho, he knew, cataloged in human books as morpho polyphemus.

"Easy, there. You can take a rest on me, if you'd like," he said, unaware that it had been doing just that. Instead of flying away, the butterfly, sensing its sudden and immense safety, spread out its wings to catch the light and perched on Remiel's finger. For the moment, it was one of the safest creatures in existence.

Remiel was in his garden, on a hot summer afternoon in Concord, Massachusetts, far from any other prying eyes. He was wearing a faded Nirvana t-shirt, and so far from any other prying eyes that he, too, had his wings spread, like the butterfly on his finger. Feeling the warmth of the sun on the six appendages was one of his favorite sensations. And the sun on the near-pure-white undersides of the wings was a near-blinding reflector.

In that moment, a butterfly and an archangel had a moment of fond solidarity. Today, Remiel had been performing little bits of maintenance. Plucking weeds, checking on fruit and vegetables, looking for any branches that needed gentle rearrangement or, if necessary, a good trimming. Today hadn't yielded too much in the way of work, but still. He took any excuse to sit out in the sun that he could.

He could hardly get sun-burned, after all. Only if he wanted to. (And after doing it once, just to see what it was like — well, once was enough.)

The archangel was so content that he almost missed the approach of a short boy with an unruly mop of straw-yellow hair. He folded his wings away, and they vanished from human vision as the boy looked over the nearest white fence. His name was Jonah, and he was the son of Remiel's closest neighbor — a very nice woman named Susan North. He blinked owlishly behind his glasses, pushing them up to his nose.

"Hi, Mr. Nemo," he called, "I brought you something."

"Hey there, sport. I'll be right over."

Remiel's moment of laziness done, he stood up on bare feet and padded over to the boy, offering him a friendly grin that Jonah returned. He was a good boy, Jonah. Talented at the piano, geometry, and figuring out puzzles. Whatever he decided to do when he grew up, he'd be an asset. At the present time, the boy held out a glass baking dish full of corn bread.

"It's from my mom," he supplied, before frowning. The archangel got the distinct impression he'd also been sent out with a message and had, in that exact moment, forgotten it. "What have you got on your finger?"

The Morpho was still there, spreading and closing his wings, and Remiel gently transferred the butterfly to his shoulder so that he could take the bread from Jonah's aching arms.

He chuckled, "It's a White Morpho."

Jonah squinted at the moving shape. "You sure know a lot about bugs and stuff. Can you teach me?"

Remiel's grin spread. "Have some time right now?"

"...yeah!"

"Okay. Hop on over. We'll try to find some more, and you can help me eat this corn bread."

So Dae just pointed out that I totally forgot to mention that Prada[her dog] would be coming with her. She said it shouldn't be a problem, but I wanted to let you know just in case.
