APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

unironicsmuppeteer: (you can be cool now too)

Bro Strider | Homestuck | Reserved

[personal profile] unironicsmuppeteer 2012-05-05 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
First Person:[There isn’t a particular reason why he hasn’t gone to sleep yet. Maybe he was just a little wired, but even after checking up on all his sites—and reading Dave’s newest update of Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff—he finds himself more bored and actually tired. That’s when he turns to gaming. Once he’s focused on one of his games while laying on the living room futon, it’s easier for him to slow down.

Before he knows it, actually, he’s fallen asleep on the futon with the gaming control on his chest. When he wakes, the morning sun is leaking through the living room window.]

hey bro.
are you awake
you need to be dont you have school

[When he gets no answer from Dave, Bro gets up and drags himself to Dave’s bedroom with Lil’ Cal in hand. Dave’s still fast asleep, curled up in his blankets. Regardless of if Dave has school or not, he can’t just be sleeping the day away.

Bro sets Lil’ Cal on Dave’s chest, so the puppet is looking directly down at the sleeping boy. After giving Dave a firm shake, he uses his stealth skills to quickly leave the room. Surely Dave will be awake soon now.]

Third Person: Bro knew the day was coming soon, the day he had spent the past thirteen years preparing Dave for. It was kind of ironic, in the worst way imaginable, that it was. He and Dave had a good thing going, with their sick beats and rap-offs. Bro had enjoyed every bit of it, every single moment. From the moment he first picked up Dave, Bro had known that he was something special.

Dave had grown into someone Bro could be proud of; the younger Strider brother showed so much potential in everything he pursued. He still didn’t stand a chance in strifes against Bro, but he never backed down, and he could certainly hold his own in the rap-offs. It was still crazy, how much time had gone by. No longer were the days when Bro needed to show Dave how wield a sword use a computer; for a thirteen-year-old, Dave was self-reliant.

Bro stood by Dave’s bedroom door for a moment, listening to talk to one of his online friends about…whatever. Bro wasn’t interested in what they were talking about; he was simply making sure Dave was doing alright.

Of course, Bro would never say that.

Striders don’t talk about feelings.

After several minutes, Bro made his presence known, leaning in the doorway. “Let’s go out for dinner tonight.” Striders don’t cook, either.
