APPLICATIONS

✗ Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.

Background: Here is where we would like to see information about your character's history and their place within their canon. This can be written if you wish, or you can link to any wikis and relevant resources.
 
Abilities: Is your character an accomplished carpenter? Can they shoot laser beams from their eyes or travel through time? If they possess any abilities, learned or otherwise, they need to go in this section.
 
Network/Actionspam Sample: This is the format that will be used in rubycity_rp and must be in action form (brackets). We are looking for a minimum of 6 to 10 lines that give us an idea of how your character speaks/acts. This sample may be linked, either from a musebox, different game or our test drive, provided that the linked example was written within the last six months.
 
Prose Log Sample: This is the format that will be used in rubycity_logs and must be a minimum length of 250 words. This sample must be in prose format (paragraphs, no brackets) and should show character reactions/introspection. Appearance: The sorts of things included in this section should be the character’s height, build, clothing style, hair, accessories. As well as their general posture and mannerisms as well, like quirks or vocal tics.
Chosen PB: First come, first serve. Please check the taken PB page. You are also welcome to use your own or commissioned art, or icons that do not depict your characters face but facets of their personality as well.
Items with character at canon point: Tell us what your character has with them at the point you have pulled them from - this includes any animal companions.

Personality: This should be self explanatory. However, when discussing personality please include why they have particular personality traits, how this effects their lives and interactions. Please provide us with insight to your character and their behaviour, their likes, dislikes and fears, as well as your understanding of them. We would also like to see details of your character's strengths and weaknesses, which may include physical, psychological and emotional. The minimum will be three well-written paragraphs, but you should be able to write more.

World Information: Please go as in depth as you can about the world. There is no wiki or website for us to reference, and we need to know as much as we can about the place your character comes from so that we can understand the character when reviewing the application.

History: Your characters’ history in their world. Be sure to be detailed. This section should be a minimum of three paragraphs.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Personality: Redglare, as a grown-up troll, living in a society where blood color is what matters the most to be high socially speaking, has a really high sense of justice and believes in such matters as equality. Although she was an inexperienced legislacerator, she had talent, therefore she has the title "Neophyte".

Showing a rigid and professional mask most of the time, Redglare actually knows when to have fun and let go of that persona. She is a rebel at heart and supports the weaklings, but in a way of not trying to make them feel helpless. She tries to lead people to the right path, and when things are out of control, she'll make justice with her own hands.

She doesn't mind getting her own hands dirty to get whatever she wants done, however, she's manipulative, so if there's something she's only able to get it from someone else, she'll make things work to her favor, to the point of even blackmailing. However, when it's the other way around, she gets frustrated and tries to find a way to get revenge. ~~She's not taking anyone's bullshit, yo.~~

Although she is serious most of the times, thanks to her adulthood, she can be a flirt sometimes and loves to tease people. She'll joke around and laugh hysterically at someone whenever something bad happens (except if it's something with a big scale of "bad" or someone she admires/has respect), only to tell them to "raise their head and stop being weak".

Based on the society she lived in, her blood color didn't end up to get over her head, as it can be seen in her own option into joining the underground movement that supported Signless' ideals. It should be also noticed that her sign, Libra, as it was mention before, supports such things as seeking equality and keeping justice.

Similar to Terezi, Redglare has the same obsession over righteousness, and similar to her pre-scratch self, she tries to find a way to help people surrounding her.

History: Like the remaining trolls, Redglare was ectobiologically created by Karkat. It is believed they were sent to their respective place by meteor, growing up to be the ancestors of the trolls in Alternia.

She was raised in Alternia, a world where what mattered the most was what color your blood was, based on Hemospectrum. Redglare had a fair life as a teal blooded troll and was raised by her dragon lusus Pyralspite. She lived by her own expectations and grew up into trying to become a great and well known legislacerator.

Believing in such matters as justice and equality, she studies to try to become a troll that can only be idolized in her own mind, until The Signless is introduced. At first she finds his efforts completely reckless to make people listen to him, believing one can only make a difference in the shadows, but after keeping in touch with his speeches, she starts to have a liking to his ideals, but never being able to actually have the courage to stand up and speak directly to him to share ideas. Instead, she kept it to herself, and kept hidden in the shadows.

While she was trying to become a actual professional legislacelarator and was climbing the stairs of society, she starts to lose track of The Signless' whereabouts, trying to focus on something more realistic. And finally, after some sweeps, her efforts are noticed and she gets known by her talent.

After getting her neophyte title and feeling more accomplished about her life as she finally cleared her main goals somehow, it is announced The Signless' death.

Frustrated for never being able to speak to him and thank him for being such a influence in her life, and knowing the revolution was a failure and his hope became lost, she seeks for a way to keep his words flowing, although it became forbidden speaking his name and mention the revolt. Not long after, she knows about the underground movement and she decides to join them. Surprisingly for her, the group was much bigger than she was expecting.

As part of the legislacerators' group, she gets a appointment to capture and bring Mindfang to justice. She takes her lusus with her and when she's able to capture her, Pyralspite burns her eight fold vision when she faces her lusus' blinding bright eyes and Redglare severely damages her arm. However, in Mindfang's trial, she turns the spectators' aggression to Redglare, causing a commotion that leads to her own doom as she ends up being hanged in the noose intended for Mindfang.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Redglare is almost emotionally untouchable. She has a great sense of justice and will make things work the way she wants them to. She'll hardly show any kind of weaknesses, but she's scared of such matters as death and not being able to help those in need.
Due to the fact she doesn't like being played with, she would take whichever possibility she had to take revenge.
Abilities: Redglare is great with mind games. With the possibility that some powers from the role she had in the scratched session are able to be retained, as a Knight of Mind player, she knows what possibilities she has to turn things to her favor, unless it is out of her range of calculation.

Relationships to Canon Characters:
The Signless She was a supporter of his ideals and his death touched her. She shows great respect and admiration for him.

Marquise Spinneret Mindfang The cause of her death. Redglare had orders to apprehend Mindfang and bring her to justice. Mindfang controlled the spectators' minds and turned them against the neophyte, killing her by leaving her hanging in the noose that was intended to Mindfang's trial.

Terezi Pyrope Her descendant. Redglare seemed to be a great and big influence in Terezi's life.

Latula Pyrope Her pre-scratched incarnation. Both don't seem to have many things in common.

Third Person:

A gasp. A small drop of sweat ran down the young adult's face as she breathed heavily, taking her hand to her neck when a sudden a lack of breath is felt. She closed her eyes as she went through the depths of her memories, to only remember her last moments. A noose and a smile of victory from her ever first opponent.

It was all a game. The jury was only hoping for amusement and enjoyment. It didn't matter who'd win in this trial. What was she thinking? Getting herself involved in such situation... And she paid for her recklessness in the end, with her own doom.

Probably not any of this wouldn't have happened in the first place if it wasn't for that man's rebellious movement. She believed for a moment she could do the same herself. Ah, what a disappointment she was. Did he watch her fail after his fall? Because she wasn't the successful one in any way possible. She was not the one who influenced billion of trolls. He showed a path. He gave hope. He created bonds. He was the one who made everything possible for a change. And she... was nothing. She only had pure talent, and no experience, and that's why she failed.

When Redglare realizes the actual reality she's in, tears are falling heavily out of her eyes. Curling up and holding both her legs, she lets the sad drift away. Finally she would get a proper rest after letting go of all of that.
