APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

[Diablo III] F!Monk (Xin) | Part 2

[personal profile] poises 2013-05-25 10:48 am (UTC)(link)

Background:

Strengths/Weaknesses: Your characters’ strengths and weaknesses, which may include physical, psychological and emotional.

Abilities:

The Monk class is very versatile when it comes to weapons, but there are only a few that the class has mastered. The weapons listed are ones that, in game, she can use effectively:

(One Handed) Maces
(One Handed) Axes
(One Handed) Swords
Daggers
Shields
Staves
Polearms
Spirit Stones
Fist-Weapons (Kind of like brass knuckles)
Daibo (Two handed staff)

Needless to say she has had decades of training to perfect her craft. As far as weapons go, that's the extent of her knowledge. If you gave her a crossbow or a wand, she'd be absolutely clueless. The same thing goes with any two handed weapon other than a Daibo.

[Diablo III] F!Monk (Xin) | Part 3

SKILLS

Primary Attacks

Fists of Thunder: This consists of a series of quick punches that unleash lightning upon contact. The third strike knocks the target back.

Deadly Reach: When she punches or kicks, a straight line of pure force is visible. Every third strike extends the ability's area of damage by 25 yards.

Crippling Wave: Her attacks are large and sweeping, especially good for taking care of multiple enemies at once. When the orb surrounds her enemies that touch it will be slowed for a couple of seconds. (Unless they are immune, etc.)

Way of the Hundred Fists: A group of blindingly fast punches that pack a punch.

Secondary Attacks

Lashing Tail Kick: AKA one hell of a roundhouse kick.

Tempest Rush: Xin dashes through a group of enemies and hurts them/knocks them away from her.

Wave of Light: A wave of light in the shape of a bell drops down from above and crushes enemies. The second part of the spell does damage in a straight line.

Defensive Abilities

Blinding Flash: Xin creates a blinding light that makes people unable to see for a few seconds.

Breath of Heaven: A wave of holy energy that will heal Xin and her allies. This won't magically fix broken bones, but it could repair things such as cuts, bruises, etc.

Serenity: Xin becomes covered in a protective shield that makes her immune to all incoming damage. It lasts for three seconds and cannot be cast onto others.

Inner Sanctuary: A runic pattern appears and enemies are unable to enter that area for 5 seconds. This can protect allies

Mantras

I think mantras would be exceedingly complicated, especially since they're all area of effect abilities. I'm going to go ahead and say that she's not allowed to have them, if only because I don't want people to think I'm 'god-modding'. I don't want to step on the toes of others and she's all ready pretty darn strong as is.

Passive Skills

There are a ridiculous amount of Passive Skills that Xin could possibly have. In game, you can switch between them at will, but if it's all right I'll just leave these out as well. They're pretty decent buffs and a lot of them have to do with spirit regeneration, etc, which isn't really relevant here.

[Diablo III] F!Monk (Xin) | Part 4

First Person:

Hm.

[Xin tilts her head to the side as the device begins recording. What an odd, wonderful little creation. Oh! She knows she should say something though, that much she knows from looking at the other posts on the 'network'.]

I am Xin, from the Monasteries of Ivgorod.

[Really though--who the hell would even know of Ivgorod? If these people are supposedly from different worlds, then any of them being from her own world is, well, highly unlikely. The monk purses her lips as she stares into the device. Diablo is dead, but what of her allies? Are they safe?]

Do tell me if there are any occurrences that I should be aware of. If you've taken the time to listen to this, you have my thanks.

[Without further ado she stops the recording. There's no sense in throwing a fit. Peace and harmony comes from within and she refuses to be shaken due to a simple change of scenery.]

[Diablo III] F!Monk (Xin) | Part 5

Third Person:

Demons swarmed around Xin as she fought her way to the Crystal Arch. What had once been pure white marble floor was now charred from ash and flames. The Enchantress whom had followed the monk so readily was faltering at the horrors of war. She turned her head to glance at what her ally was so shaken up over. Two angels were chained to a marble column, their bodies slumped. They were dead, but the chains bound their bodies and souls together. Xin pursed her lips as she freed them and words of thanks echoed around them as their bodies quickly disintegrated. Now even angels did not dare tread their sacred grounds, but the Nephalem's resolve would not falter so easily.

Xin reached over to Eirena and gave the girl's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Find your center--your balance--then you will have nothing to fear." Loud screeches and the hiss of sharp claws scraping against the ground did not bode well. "Peace comes from within." A runic pattern appeared below their feet, glowing brightly as it protected them from a cloud of arrows dipped in flames.

The monk dashed forward, striking the demons from all sides. It took only twenty-five seconds for her and the Enchantress to slaughter the demons. The blackened blood of man's worst nightmare was all that remained. Xin remained impassive as they began the final climb. Diablo was close--she could feel it.

A loud crack echoed in the air as vines shot up from the marble, curling around each other. They formed a cage, one that could not be broken so easily, and it held Eirena captive. "This is your fight now." Although Eirena tried, the cage was not an illusion that she could simply whisk away.

There was no time to free her. Anyone that possibly could was far away from the spire--or dead--like Leah. "The Gods strike through me."
It was a bold declaration, but the Nephalem felt a surge of excitement as she nodded to Eirena. "I shall return." Xin took the last few steps alone and with her head held high. Although the heavens were hung in black, the monk knew that it was her time to restore balance to this battered world. Nothing, not even Diablo would stop her from that task.
