A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

CHARACTER
Name: Rider (Francis Drake)
Canon: Fate/EXTRA
Age: Originally died at 55, looks about late 20s.
Timeline: Post-death, female protagonist with playable Saber route.

Personality: Rider is a hedonist to the extreme, a self-proclaimed villain, greedy, and selfish. Her attitude towards life is in essence like a firework; burning bright and rising quickly with no regard for its explosive ending. After her boss battle, she says herself 'a villain's final moments are laughably miserable' with little more than amusement. Her only concern is with getting everything she can from life before it reaches the unhappy end that she understands is only natural.

Her approach to the treasure she hunts in earnest is "I chase after gold so that I can scatter it like a storm!" That stands as the vital difference that separates her from Gilgamesh and his endless treasury; while similarly self-centered and avaricious, Rider exhausts her wealth as if her life depends on it. Everything about Rider is in fact like a storm on the ocean; loud, abrasive, and a sheer destructive force. She is cutthroat in battle, though not needlessly cruel outside of it. Though she and Shinji cross paths with the protagonist and her Servant outside of the arena several times, she is never overly confrontational until the time comes for them to actually fight. her sprite and ingame model always appear to have a smile or at the very least a smirk on them, so it may be safe to say she's often in high spirits regardless of any difficult situation. It could be said that as long as one stays out of her way, she will likely treat them as kindly as can be expected of a pirate.

Recognizing that life is not an endless thing, Rider sets out to enjoy it as much as possible. Once defeated, she seems to accept her loss with disgust at her own failing, but no hatred or real anger. She is despite everything a graceful loser. She has no real concerns about death, seeming to regard it with a 'well, shit happens' attitude. In fact, one can say that devil-may-care sort of thinking extends to much about her. Rider seems to care little for the supposed authority Shinji holds as her Master--she teases him often like an elder sister would do to her brother. On occasion she laughs when the protagonist or her Servant verbally get the better of him, even playfully mocking her Master herself on occasion.

On that note, she is a remarkably playful person; there is an account of Drake teasing his men by looking downcast when asked about the results of a raid before pulling out a necklace of Spanish gold with a laugh. Rider is a generally lighthearted individual who doesn't really care who it is she's teasing; whether ally or enemy, she will mock and joke around at their expense all the same. While not strictly a good individual by any means, Rider is not needlessly cruel or cold; she seems to strike an odd balance between abrasive and amicable. Rider is essentially that one loudmouthed friend in a group who seems to be wasting her time there just because the others amuse her, the kind that is out all night partying and gladly fighting a hangover the next day.

Background:

Rider
Francis Drake

A vital side note is mentioned in the section of Rider's ingame information matrix:

In addition - and this is merely literary creation - there is also a story full of romance in which Drake was a companion of Queen Elizabeth and, just before setting sail for the world circumnavigation, switched places with the Queen, who could no longer go out in public due to receiving a wound on her face.

Considering the nature of Fate/ canon to play fast and loose with 'literary creation' vs. 'history' as well as Rider's obvious facial scar, this was likely meant as an explanation as for why this particular Drake is suddenly a woman (aside from the canon's love of genderswaps). While she is for all intents and purposes 'Francis Drake' and did herself accomplish the majority of deeds attributed to him, she was very likely born Elizabeth and switched places with Drake sometime in mid to late 1577, shortly before the latter's circumnavigation of the world began.

Abilities: As a Servant, basically everything about Rider is in some measure superhuman. She requires no food or sleep (but can and will enjoy both in excess regardless), and is notably a little more difficult to kill than an average human.

However, her statistics (Strength, Endurance, Magic, Agility) are all average or below with the exception of an astronomical (EX) ranking in Luck. Her passive skills Voyager of the Storm and Pioneer of the Stars mark her charisma as a military leader and her willpower being enough to realize the impossible, respectively. From a less statistical standpoint, Rider carries two flintlock pistols; as long as she has magical energy sufficient enough to operate on, they will not need to be reloaded. Additionally she has slight magic resistance, able to cancel out the weakest of spells aimed at her.

Rider's Noble Phantasm is the Golden Wild Hunt: The Night of the Golden Hind and the Storm (or simply Hunt of the Golden Hind). When Rider speaks the invocation, she summons a fleet of ships to attack her target. (Which, for everyone's convenience, will be nerfed to only the Golden Hind.) She can also summon four cannons with her Culverin Cannons skill.

First Person: Here at the test drive meme.

Third Person:

"Hmph." A frown briefly passed across the scarred face of the woman in red as she overlooked her surroundings in the park. The day had been a boring one, she decided. It was no fault of the location--this place's architecture kind of reminded her of England, which wasn't much of a strike against it. But it got dull, and though the pirate sat down and folded her arms to consider the reasoning, she didn't need to dwell on it long.

What was a Servant without her Master? Or in Rider's case, without her young loudmouthed companion? 'Bored out of her skull' seemed to be the accurate answer. Things just weren't quite the same here as they'd been in the Moon Cell with Shinji. Something was missing, something she needed to get her hands on. Something like-

"Ah--of course." She tapped a closed fist into the open palm of her other hand lightly, line of thought completing itself. The woman crossed her legs, leaning back on the object she sat upon with a smirk. What she needed wasn't Shinji--though she wouldn't have minded him specifically--and it wasn't a Master. No, what Francis Drake needed was a pirate crew. How in God's name could she have overlooked that? A captain wasn't a captain at all without people to lead. Nodding in newfound determination, Rider again folded her arms.

"Yeah, that's just what I'll have to do. There's no bulletin board here, so maybe flyers. No, too much work. Advertisements over the pocketwatches, definitely." It sounded like sheer genius to Rider's ears as she voiced her thoughts. Of course, a good captain always took other opinions into account.

"What do you think?"

With a tap of her boot against cooling flesh and fur matted with blood, Rider directed her question to the pile of park monsters she'd been slaying before the plague of boredom struck, and whose corpses she now used as a particularly unsettling chair. Of course, no response came--Rider seemed to take that silence as agreement, letting out a sharp laugh as she leapt to her feet and wiped the creature's spilled blood off her face.

"Stunned into silence by my genius? I see, I see. You just lie there and let me handle all the hard work, then." She turned with a flourish of pink hair and red coat, stalking off back towards the city with long strides and a confident grin.

CHARACTER
Name: Garry
Canon: Ib
Age: Exact age unknown, but he seems to be around 20-23
Timeline: Immediately after the "Promise of Reunion" ending
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Perhaps the best way to sum up Garry would be to use Kouri's (the creator's) words: "He's strange, but easy to like." And there's no denying that he is a bit on the strange side: he startles easily, "talks like a lady" according to Ib, wears a tattered coat because he considers it fashionable, gets into arguments with talking ants, and really, really doesn't like dolls. "Eccentric" is just about the perfect word to describe him, and he's unabashed about it. He is who he is, regardless of what others think.

Where Ib is quiet and more calm, Garry is excitable and chattery, more than ready to talk enough for the both of them. He's happy to share his opinions on the pieces of artwork they encounter in the gallery, though his skills at explaining things leave something to be desired (when Ib asks what the title "Abstract Art" means, Garry's helpful explanation is to say that it means art that is abstract). Sometimes a little TOO eager, as in the above-mentioned argument with the ant, which Ib ends up having to break up. Subtlety is not one of Garry's stronger traits.

Garry is a man who wears his heart on his sleeve for the most part; whatever he feels, he'll express outwardly, unless he's in a situation where doing so would cause harm to someone else, and even then he feels bad about hiding things. In one of the ending paths where he trades his rose to Mary to get Ib's back, he begins to falter when she starts plucking the petals from it. When Ib asks him what's wrong, he tells her that he really doesn't want to lie to her, but at the same time, he doesn't want to tell her the truth either. In the end he settles for just telling her to go on ahead rather than trying to explain that he is dying.

This expressiveness also leads to many hilarious moments within the game, as Garry is not exactly the bravest person and is in fact quite easily startled by things. His response to being startled or frightened is to let out a shriek and topple backwards-- in fact, there is one part in the bonus dungeon where you can accidentally knock a piece of art off a table in a darkened room, causing it to break on the floor. Garry asks Ib if she is all right, and one of the dialogue options is "Garry's scream was scarier." Not exactly a knight in shining armor here.

That isn't to say that Garry is a coward, however. When push comes to shove, he's more than capable of stepping up to the plate and displaying considerable courage, be it by putting himself in front of Ib when Mary is threatening her with a palette knife (and then proceeding to knock Mary out) or offering to trade his own rose for Ib's in one of the ending paths. He doesn't seem to think he's very brave, though, as he admits to Ib in one part that he probably isn't the most reliable person for this kind of situation, but then immediately resolves to try his best anyway.

He's definitely protective, but he's nurturing as well. When asked by Ib why he "talks like a lady," he admits that he doesn't remember the exact reason why he started, but it's preferable to be gentle rather than rough. On more than one occasion he shows decided concern for Ib's mental well-being as well as her physical state, scolding himself for not noticing when she was having a nightmare, and then offering her a piece of candy from his coat pocket as a way of keeping calm. One could go so far as to say that he is solidly in touch with both his more masculine and feminine sides and feels absolutely no shame about this. (It's also worth noting, although it doesn't come across in the English translation, that in the Japanese version he uses feminine pronouns and particles in his speech rather than the typical masculine or gender-neutral ones.)

But despite all of his eccentricities, there is no doubt that Garry is a genuinely good person at heart. He does his best to protect and look out for Ib (and later Mary as well) despite having just met her, even going so far as to sacrifice his own life for hers in one ending path. Even if he's scared, his instinct is to do the right thing, which allows him to pull through in the end.

Background: General canon summary and Garry's page.

Abilities: Absolutely none, unless you count the ability to scream loud enough to startle small girls. Garry is 100% a normal human.

First Person:

[The face of a young man in his early 20s appears on the screen, apparently unaware that what he's saying is being broadcasted to everyone.]

A pocket watch? It's a bit quaint, but I suppose it will do... though I wish whoever gave this to me had noticed I already have a watch. Who uses pocket watches anymore?

[He pokes at the watch, which has the end result of him poking directly at the screen.]

And here I thought I'd had enough of waking up in strange places for a lifetime. At least there isn't any living artwork here...

[Sighing, he droops slightly for a moment before he straightens back up with renewed determination.]

This time it simply has to be a dream. Yes, I'll just think of it as a dream. No roses, no monsters, no dolls... it's all just a dream...

Ah, why can't I have a nice dream for once?

Third Person:

There were, Garry had to admit, multiple advantages to being trapped in a city as opposed to an art gallery. For one thing, there wasn't the looming sense of claustrophobia that came with spending hours inside dark, windowless corridors with strange creatures lurking around every corner. He'd heard rumors of the monsters in the park, of course, but hearing and seeing were two very different things. He could simply shove the thought to the back of his mind as long as he wasn't confronted with the creatures themselves. At least there weren't any creepy dolls. The prospect of monsters was one thing (and not something he relished the thought of), but dolls would just have been too much.

The thought drew an involuntary shiver as he made his way down the street. The scenery could definitely use some improvement, he decided. Far too gloomy and cheerless. Not his sort of style at all. But it was bearable, and considerably better than the Guertena exhibit in many ways.

He just wished that Ib hadn't ended up here too. Poor kid... she'd always been strong and stoic, even in the exhibit, but how hard must it have been for her to be away from her parents for so long? Try though he might to serve as a guardian for her, he couldn't replace her parents, and he was all too keenly aware of this fact. He certainly wouldn't make much of a protector if they ever were to come face-to-face with one of those monsters...

Ugh. Don't think about that, Garry. Keep going along that path and your imagination is liable to run away with you. Haven't you had enough of monsters already?

Besides, he'd come out on this stroll for a reason, and that was to see if he could find something nice to bring back for Ib. Just something small to lift her spirits a bit; maybe a toy or something like that? Nine-year-old girls liked that sort of thing, didn't they?

... just no dolls. That was the one thing he drew the line at.

CHARACTER
Name: Historia Reiss (Christa Renz)
Canon: Shingeki no Kyojin
Age: 15
Timeline: Chapter 49
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:
Born out of wedlock to an aristocrat from one of the most affluent old families and a housemaid, Historia’s short life has been a turmulent one from her early days. Growing up on a farm belonging to her father’s family, Historia has been kept in the shadow among the distant and uncommunicative family of her mother. Any form of love shown to the young child has been limited, at best, and nonexistent at worst. Treated as a farmhand, Historia takes to her life with complacence, not questioning the distance placed between herself and that of her mother.
She is eventually pulled into the strife between her family members by the circumstances of her birth. As one of the heirs to the prestigious Reiss family, her position as an illegitimate child creates tension in regards to carrying on the family’s legacy. This dilemma is put on an end when the elders of the family decide to eliminate the mother and child altogether, thus removing her from the inheritance line once and for all. This plan comes into effect the night Lord Reiss--Historia’’s father--decides to reclaim mother and child. Instead of regaining her rightful place in the family, Historia ends up losing her mother, who is slaughtered by the men sent to murder the two, and any hope of her mother’s affections for her; her mother’s dying words were her regret of having given birth to Historia at all, a final rejection.

Denounced by her mother and facing the same fate, Historia is offered to be spared her life in exchange to renouncing her name and living in hiding. Her continued existence as a member of her prestigious family means the possibility of getting killed, and so she chooses the alternative by disappearing from the family’s bloodline. This decision forms a crucial part of Historia’s personality, known for the past five years as Christa Renz. Christa Renz is a re-invented character; a facade held up to hide the extreme sense of inferiority and helplessness Historia’s grown up with all her life. Unwanted, shirked, and seen as a disgrace, she manages to shove any genuine sense of worth to back of her psyche to reemerge as someone more ideal. Christa can be described at once as someone who is endearingly selfless with unmatched sweetness. She saves the last of her meals for starving comrades and goes out of her way to offer assistance on the expense of her own comfort. Christa seems to win those around her over effortlessly due to her kindness and patience.
Mild mannered and pliant, she can be a pushover by those who tend to be more outspoken, yet her strong resolve and idealistic nature allow her to stand her ground and stand up for others in a show that is a little bit too perfect. She is idolized and adored for her beauty and traditional goodheartedness, making her desirable to many. However, Christa’s idealism is a thin veneer for pathological sense of self-sacrifice that borders on the suicidal. Her need to be accepted and validated pushes her beyond her capacities, pushing her into believing that dying for others is the highest way to attain honor--even if her heroics puts others in danger, as well. It is suggested that she’s perpetually chasing a sense of accomplishment that she can get only through helping others, even if it ends up being ultimately self serving. In that sense, Christa ends up conflating the act of “doing the right thing” with “being accepted”. Unbeknownst to her, the praise that comes from these heroics are what push her forward.

Christa’s turnaround takes place when she finds she can be accepted for what she is rather than what she can offer others. Christa’s struggles deal with finding her inner self worth and embracing her past instead of hiding from it. Her misguided, self destructive stubbornness turns into an iron resolve as she no longer feels the need to turn it inward, and her personal isolation fades away as she starts letting others in. Christa’s preoccupation with being the martyr in order to save others is one of her biggest obstacles, and one she deals with by deciding to live for the self she has chosen to deny before. She ends up finding further self-worth in choosing to fight alongside her comrades rather than for them. By abandoning the persona she’s been wanting to be seen as, Historia is finally able to live as who she is. The misplaced heroics of self-sacrifice is replaced with the confidence she used to lack. By not needing to build up a different, more desirable character, she is able to come into her own even if her past remains to be dealt with.

CHARACTER
Name: Cronus Ampora
Canon: Homestuck
Age: Cronus has been dead for many, many years but he still appears to be about 19 years old, or 9 sweeps.
Timeline: After getting Slampora'd
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: While I do play Alpha!Dave, the two of them have absolutely no reason to talk to each other. Dave is... well, Dave, and doesn't like most trolls, usually only talking to them if he wants to antagonize them or because he has to. With Meenah and Eridan ingame, as well as the vast pool of people out there to flirt with, Cronus wouldn't really bother with old man Dave. As such, the two of them won't have reason to interact.

Personality: Cronus is the second worst character in Homestuck by far.

Alright that isn't entirely true, but he's pretty horrible. At first glance, he might not seem like the worst person you could meet. In fact, he even seems rather nice! Claiming to be a sensitive artist, Cronus is a friendly, well meaning kind of guy. He understands your problems and can sympathize with them and is just overall there for you. He gets you, y'know?. No ulterior motives or anything! He definitely seems like the type of guy you could bring home to your folks, charming and charismatic and easy to talk to, you can't find a better guy than Cronus even if you tried!

That's what he wants you to believe, at any rate. The truth is that this is all very much an act, and the dude is actually a douche bag underneath a layer of false charm. He's clearly only nice to get close to people and to lead into making inappropriate advances on them more often than not. Cronus is somewhat obsessed with filling his quadrants and having sex. While he obviously wouldn't admit to it, years and years of getting rejected have made Cronus a desperate guy when it comes to sex and romance. To say the guy has standards would be a lie; he might claim to have them, but it's pretty clear that he'll eat it up from anyone if they give him a little bit of positive attention. After all, when you're used to nothing but rejection, you start to crave attention from just about anything.

The one thing you should know about Cronus is, it's not his fault! It's other people's faults. He is very much based on the 'nice guy' stereotype, and he lives up to that by blaming other people for not wanting to be with him and that he's obviously just too good for them, or that their tastes just aren't good. No matter what it is, he's great at twisting it around and making himself the victim. He alluded to this multiple times throughout his appearance in the comic, and not only that but he also made inappropriate advances on Mituna Captor, before proceeding to heavily victim blame and make Mituna feel bad for it. In fact, this conversation also revealed what a manipulative bastard and jerk Cronus can be. Not only is he a jerk, but it also showed what an ableist he is by the way he blamed Mituna and insulted him over his mental problems. Of course he tried to hide it a little, but on multiple occasions he nearly slipped up and called Mituna 'retarded'.

Really, his interactions with Mituna made a lot of things clear, like the fact that he just has no personal boundaries what so ever and doesn't see anything wrong with violating people's personal space. It can be assumed that Cronus is a bit of a touchy-feely person, laying hands on someone's shoulder and such even if they might not want him to; as is the case with Mituna, and Cronus didn't see anything wrong with his actions. As mentioned above, he even went as far as to make Mituna feel bad for being uncomfortable about it. Despite this lack of boundaries, unlike common perception, Cronus isn't a rapist by any means and he does have some respect for established romances, so he wouldn't go breaking people up just so he can get with them. This might be one of the only ways in which the guy has standards.

Cronus is a very dramatic troll in that regard. He plays up his feelings in a way to try and get people to sympathize with him. Most interactions with him involve talking about his feelings in a pretty dramatic fashion. Additionally, he also claims to be humankin; a human born in a troll body- specifically a 1950s human greaser. Whether or not this is genuine or a ploy to get people interested in him remains to be seen, though it seems fairly genuine given his discussion about it with Kankri, who enabled this behaviour. Fake or not, Cronus is wrapped up tight in it, using gratuitous 50s slang, greasing his hair and keeping a(n unlit) cigarette in his mouth ofte- that isn't however, the worst out of Cronus. Probably the epitome of drama would be his tendency to threaten suicide upon being rejected. It's so hammy and played up that it's clear to most people that he wouldn't actually do it, but it goes to show that he stoops pretty low in order to garner sympathy and acceptance.

He is also rather egotistical and thinks he's better than other people, another few of his negative traits that he tends to hide under his ~nice guy~ facade. He claims that his blood colour is not a big deal to him, but the opposite is obvious given the way he talks about it and that he's downplaying it as a way to make people think he's humble so they like him better. The truth of the matter is he does think his blood colour makes him better than anyone below him and that it makes him entitled to things; much the way Eridan and Dualscar were as well. This sort of thing tends to run in the Amporas' blood and Cronus is no exception, he's just a bit more sneaky with it, unlike the other Amporas.

There might be a lot about Cronus that's fake, but surprisingly enough there are some things about him that aren't fake. One of the bigger examples would be his music; sure it may be raunchily named and inappropriate as all get out, but it's obvious that Cronus has put a lot of time and effort into it. When he speaks of music, he doesn't sound like someone merely dabbling in it, he sounds like someone who really knows his stuff. And why not? He wants to impress people and to be as good as he can be, so of course he's put a lot of energy into getting as good as he can at it. The same thing can be assumed in regards to combat; while he claims not to be in a violent space in his life anymore, he probably is really good at his choice of weapon, which like Eridan and Dualscar before him, would be Ahab's Crosshairs.

Overall, Cronus is not the kind of guy you really want to be in the same room with for extended periods of time, because even his few redeeming qualities he might have hidden underneath aren't enough to make the guy bearable.

Background: his vwiki

Abilities: Cronus has all of the abilities that come with being a violet blood. He has the ability to use magic even if his wizarding days are behind him and he no longer wants to even talk about that. He's skilled with music, having dedicated quite a lot of time to the art. Above all, he's a damn good marksman if he ever decides that he's in a violent enough space to use one again. Aside from that, he also has all of the abilities of a troll; tougher skin, he's stronger physically than most humans, etc.

First Person: eugh vwhat evwer vwill i do?
fresh out of a nasty fight vwith some guy picking on a lowvly grub vwho couldnt defend himself.
i sure do hope the thing is alright.
but, and i mention this vwith all the humbleness i can muster, he managed to get a good hit on me.
vwhat a jerk he vwas, let me tell ya.
is there anyone out there kind enough to help a nice guy like myself out?
and yknowv its pretty cold out here, vwould anyone be vwilling to help vwith that?
i hear sharing body heat is the perfect vway to fix a problem such as this!
but really its my injuries that need help the most.
i think i fractured something, maybe evwen broke it completely!
i might be dying, vwho evwen knowvs.
he vwas a vwicious thing, that guy i vwas fighting.
and evwen vwhen im not in a vwiolent space in my life right nowv i still did it to help that little guy.
im such a hero, i just hope i dont die before i figure out if he made it out alivwe.
that vwould be so awvful.

Third Person: Ow. That was Cronus's first thought upon coming to. The last thing he remembered was crashing into a different version of himself and blacking out. When consciousness came back to him, he felt the side-effects of that hitting him in full force. A headache, a sore side and basically sore everything that collided with his other self. At first, Cronus was pretty sure that he was having some sort of weird dream. He wasn't where he remembered being at last, that was for sure. Had someone moved him? Why would they move him there, of all places?

It quickly became apparent, however, that it wasn't the case. All too soon he felt the inexplicable need to leave the train once it stopped, despite how sore he was. With a groan, he disembarked into the strange new world that he was beginning to realize was not the dream bubble he had been in moments before. Either that, or this was one vivid dream within a dream.

"Vwell if this IS a dream, then only one vway to find out..." He snapped his fingers. "Hot and naked people vwill appear out of thin air in three, tvwo, one..."

And nothing happened.

"Globes," he grumbled under his breath. Of course he couldn't be so lucky as to be dreaming something that wonderful. There didn't seem to be anyone around, upon further inspection. What he did find were posters explaining a few things about the place. Ruby City, huh? That sounded fancy. He wondered if the people there were as fancy as the name might suggest. But really, the biggest thing on his mind was the fact that it felt like Christmas had come. A whole new world! It didn't matter how he'd got there or why; for Cronus, it was a fresh start. A new pool of dateable people who had no idea what kind of person he was. Even if, unbeknownst to him, he'd actually been there before. STILL, he was going to make the most of this. He would woo everyone, that he was sure of!

Just... after he found something- or someone- to ease the pain from his little Slampora incident. And maybe a coat, because wow it was hellaciously cold, how was a seadweller to EVEN survive? Maybe he could find someone to share body heat with.
