APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

✗ Canon Application

✗ Canon OC Application

✗ OC Application

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

Background: Pretty sure tv tropes still has the best background info summary

Abilities: He has no powers or anything like that, he's just really freaking strong. He lifts. And while he might not be an accomplished carpenter, it's something he knows a little about already and is looking to become one, so... He's good with mechanics too, motorcycles mostly. He definitely couldn't build one from the ground up, but he does plenty of modifications and maintenance. Basically builing and physical labour are what he's good at. Leadership is debatable. He's a good leader for a certain kind of group, in most situations, he wouldn't really be. But he is good at getting people riled up, and he's a good leader in that he has clear rules and boundaries, as well as a willingness to take that position.

First Person: Here

Third Person: Mondo stared up at the sign, 'Cafe Anglais', it said. He squinted, made a face at it.

"Ka-fee An-guh-lees? The fuck's that..." He muttered under his breath, still giving the sign the stink-eye. Well, whatever, he decided. There was only one way to find out. So he went in, and quickly realised it definitely wasn't the kind of place he wanted to go for lunch. But he was inside. It was too late to just turn around and leave, that would be awkward as hell. Already people had started to stare at him. He looked around desperately, as if he needed some justification to be in a dainty cafe. On one hand, maybe he could just take a seat and glare at anybody that looked at him funny. As if he gave a shit ever. But that wouldn't be any good if he didn't want to eat what they were serving in the first place.

Maybe he could just admire the woodworking. Yeah, he was there to take a look around at the carpentry job! So he stuck his hands in his pockets and started wandering around, inspecting every piece of wood but the baseboards. He whistled, maybe a little overdramatic. Whatever. Just a few minutes of that and he could get the hell out without looking suspicious. And actually...there was some pretty good carving work going on. He'd like to be able to do that someday. Briefly, it made him wonder whether he could find the tools to try it out somewhere in the city. Chances were yes. That'd be cool, get a feel for the whole deal, see if he really wanted to do it. If he couldn't hang out with the gang or anything, at least he'd have something to do that wouldn't be a total waste? Plus then he wouldn't have to be thinking about it later whenever he could go back to his usual.
