Personality:
Rhoda has dedicated her life to putting the 'pro' in 'professional flight attendant'. Above all, she is defined by her job. There is nothing she takes more pride in than performing her duty perfectly. The highest oath she appears to know is literally 'I swear on my honour as a professional flight attendant' . Likewise, if she wants to ensure someone else is being serious, the makes them swear on their respective profession, which indicates she automatically assumes most other people have the same sense of job honour she has.
As a professional, Rhoda's most outstanding qualities are her calm, her patience and her good manners. She is able to force a smile in conversation with mostly everyone, even if those smiles might end up looking kind of tense and twitchy.
Even when faced with Edgeworth while she assumes him a killer, Rhoda acts polite and strict. If she is scared of him at that point, she does not let it show. Only a certain cold look she gives him makes her disgust at that moment clear. This shows that her professional attitude goes along with a certain amount of braveness. If it's for her job, Rhoda will easily suppress her emotions and fears.
When she does end in a panic, like she does upon finding a dead body on her flight, then she does her best to quickly get over it and resolve the situation swiftly. Her tendency to deal with critical situations fast is not always entirely helpful though, as it results in rash decisions and premature judgement.

Rhoda's personality in general does not vary too much from her work persona. She is a very tidy person in private as well and states that she loves to clean. Her bed on the plane is kept neatly and next to it there is a note board full of little sticky notes, presumably about tasks she still needs to perform. Always doing things correctly is Rhoda's main objective. In this pursuit, she sometimes even ends up correcting her own actions out loud. This is seen when she speaks to Edgeworth about suspecting him to be the culprit ("Maybe I should put on a serious face and say it directly").
As someone who values order, Rhoda only believes what she sees with her own eyes. Before she accepts someone's words, she likes to see proof of what they are claiming. This is opposed to how easily she is deluded by her own first impressions, but it makes sense. It would be fatal if she believed people too easily after all, when she is supposed to be a figure of authority on her flights. Likewise, she also keeps a professional distance from the travellers. When a passenger makes inappropriately flirty comments at her, she neither snaps at him nor responds out of the ordinary in any other way. She simply keeps her professional distance. In a similar manner, she makes clear to Edgeworth that even if he is nice to her and acts as a gentleman, it will not gain her trust. The professional thing to do is wait for him to prove his innocence, so Rhoda let's nothing else sway her. So despite her politeness, Rhoda can be very direct and even though she never gets rude, she will tell somebody when she thinks they misbehaved terribly. However, she will let small things slide as quirks of passengers that she just has to deal with.
After all, the passenger is king for her and even when she doubts one, she will not cease to offer service. Even while Edgeworth is under suspicion of murder, Rhoda is almost frantic over the realization that he hadn't had his proper meal yet. Service comes completely natural to her and she will perform services unless she is explicitly told not to. (When Edgeworth talks to a stuttering passenger, she translates all he says into smooth non-stuttering language, despite the fact that Edgeworth doesn't show any problems understanding the original words. Likewise, she jumps in for her colleague Cammy when she fails to respond to a question properly.)

Still, even tough Rhoda acts prideful, she is woman full of self-doubt. As a professional flight attendant she points out the quality of her work a lot, but it appears to be the only thing she openly dares to be confident about. While she can come across as almost arrogant at first ("I don't think you could ask for a more perfect witness testimony"), it is merely an act that displays the high standards she holds herself to. In truth, she doesn't think she can even afford to make mistakes, so her constant flaunting of being 'professional' is just covering up for insecurity.
Because being a professional flight attendant is the only thing Rhoda thinks she's really good at, she also uses it as a justification for completely unrelated judgements. For example she states that 'as a professional flight attendant' she can recognize the beauty of a vase, which technically has nothing to do with her profession at all.
Indeed, Rhoda goes as far as stating 'all she really has' is her job. Apparently she doesn't have any social life to speak of. Her lack of free time occupations becomes even more clear when you take into consideration that even though her job evidently pays well, she mostly spends the money on the suitcases she designed herself. She buys one on every single flight she is on, despite them costing 1.200 Dollars each - a sum that speaks for itself.
When something goes wrong at her work, Rhoda starts to reveal what she really thinks of herself. It doesn't take much to go from her usual honour as a professional to calling herself 'a failure as a flight attendant', which is obviously the highest insult she could apply to herself. When she makes a mistake, Rhoda is really worried about the consequences it may have. She doesn't easily live something down when there is a chance that someone might have gotten into problems because of her.
Seeing she already blames herself heavily for any wrongdoings, Rhoda can't really deal with someone else rightfully accusing her of any errors she committed. She is able to speak up for herself upon being wrongly scolded, but when she knows the other person is right or when the blame for something really heavy is confidently put on her (like Franziska arresting her as a murder suspect), Rhoda loses her ability to say anything in her own defence. She only stutters uselessly and if possibly excuses herself to flee from the scene.
After a mistake, her professionalism crumbles a little, and Rhoda begins to exhibit a tendency to apologize excessively for any faults in her own actions, even if they are small. She really wants to make up anything wrong she might have done to the person affected. As opposed to her usually strict and calm manner of speaking, Rhoda tends to stutter a lot and physically tremble when she gets like that.
Generally, she loses her ability to think rationally when she is nervous. While she tries to cover up for it, this becomes evident in her actions as such. The fact that she went out of her way to ask a dead man to verbally confirm his own death kind of speaks for itself here. She acts as if she's calm, but what she says is ultimately nonsense.

Still, insecurity and directness aside, Rhoda is not unable to lie and break protocol. Even when it is about her work, there are situations in which a good reason causes Rhoda to behave unexpectedly and dishonestly. For example, finding the truth behind the murder on her plane is important enough to her to do so. She knows fully well that she would never get the captain's permission for allowing Edgeworth an investigation, but she does deem one necessary and wants to make the wrong accusation up to him. So she lies and lets him investigate despite never having even brought the issue to the captain in the first place. It is an attempt at solving the mess she herself got involved in before any higher-up even finds out about it. She wants to make things right, even if she sometimes uses the wrong means to do so.
This also shows that even despite thinking lowly of herself, Rhoda is able to tell when someone wrongs her. She realizes fully well that Cammy, her co-worker, does not deserve the captain's attention and respect as much as her, and instead of thinking it is her fault in some way, she is offended about the way things are. However, she is too timid to bring the issue up openly for real. When it comes to co-workers and people she knows better than random passengers, Rhoda is a lot more reluctant and shy. It appears that she wishes for better, maybe friendship-esque relations to them, even if they treat her badly.
As a last note on lying, it has to be said that Rhoda lies more easily when the subject she lies about only concerns herself. For example, she insists on the suitcases she made selling well - even though they don't. In a way, that is a white lie. It doesn't cause anybody else any harm and only serves to keep up her facade of confidence and success. At least to the outside, Rhoda makes an attempt to cover up for what goes wrong in her life.
Even though she is good at making it seem otherwise, Rhoda just really doesn't believe much in herself. When she won a company design contest with her suitcases by her own words she thought that 'maybe, maybe she had finally accomplished something'.

The mention of design finally finally guides us to a part of Rhoda that neither has to do with work nor self-consciousness. She appears to really like designing things. The only problem is that by common standard she is horrible at it.

These are her suitcases. The ones sold for 1200 Dollars each. I don't think I need to expand on the fact that Rhoda really likes bright colours, but doesn't really know how to combine them in a way that pleases the average eye. However, she really does put her heart into everything she designs. With a lot of love, she made these suitcases to be 'faithful partners for the passengers'. It's easy to tell just from this, that Rhoda truly is a sweet and idealistic person at heart.

Truly, a lot of her behaviour is reminiscent of the stereotypical young and pure maiden. When you get to know Rhoda a little more, you will find her a surprisingly naive woman. As the investigation with Edgeworth progresses, she voices a number of ideas that are painfully obvious, which she seems genuinely excited about. She really hopes to be of help and gets sad when she finally figures that really, it wasn't much use.
However, she doesn't always catch on with her actions being strangely out of place. She makes Edgeworth, an adult man, pinky-swear - with a completely straight face as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
On that note (the note being Edgeworth), it would fit right into Rhoda's character to secretly hope for a fairytale prince to appear. Cammy once implies that she might have a crush on the polite Edgeworth and although Rhoda doesn't confirm it directly, the way she denies the accusation makes it seem like a valid possibility.

Aside from crushes, Rhoda appears to have a general tendency towards idolization. She greatly looks up to Hugo Ifly, the founder of the airlines she works for. Furthermore, she is shown caring a lot about a chair used when a certain rock band was flying with their plane. Here it is implied that she does stay up to date with pop culture some bit and is interested in famous people.

Once Rhoda grows to like someone more, she also comes to rely on them more and begin hoping for their help when she is in trouble. Likewise, she would doubtlessly do anything she could to help them as well. When she's more confident around a person, Rhoda also dares to show a less polite, pushier, but more natural side of herself. (She is almost pouting as she commands Edgeworth to say he'll buy her suitcase, as he says he hasn't bought one.)
Like almost any person, Rhoda brightens up when people are nice to her. If someone gets through to her enough with that, she will show them a bright and genuine smile for once.

Rhoda's wish to get to know people more than just by serving them on a flight is also shown in the way she examines her passengers. Even before she talks to them, she seems to have a habit of looking closely at their looks and behaviour. She appears to enjoy making hypothesises about their lives and backgrounds, even if those often end up completely off. At least it can be said she is an observant person, both by nature and job necessity.

A random and irrelevant flaw of her is that apparently she's really bad at washing clothes. At the badly smelling crime-scene, she is reminded of her own towels after they come out of the drier.

Background: Rhoda's Wiki

Abilities: Rhoda is human through and through. Her only notable skill is indeed being a professional flight attendant. Despite the sounds of it, that is not to be underestimated. When she says she would calmly serve coffee, if so desired, even in the middle of a plane crash, then she absolutely means it. While nervousness sometimes gets the better of her, Rhoda is generally very good at forcing herself to be calm and smile. She has a lot of patience.
Aside from that, she has the ability to combine colours in ways that make everyone lose their cool - sadly not in the way that's intended. Her designs are, to quote a certain prosecutor, 'hideous'.

First Person:

[ The video comes to live with the image of a young woman looking quite tense as she focuses on making the device work the intended way. ]

...is this on now?

[ As she has reassured herself that, yes, the video is on record, she clears her throat and smiles - it's twitchy and nervous, but it stays on. ]

Good evening, dear pass--- [ She'd not almost have said passengers here, totally not. ] dear residents.

My name is Rhoda Teneiro and if you were recently planning to travel to Zheng Fa with iFly airlines, I would have been your flight attendant. That said, a-as you can see, I'm not on that flight currently.

I.... don't really know where I am. If this location means anything to you, I'd be grateful for any directions from here to the nearest airport. [ At this, she turns the camera around to film the area in front of the station. ]

Thank you for your attention.

[ And with a polite little nod she turns the video off. Unseen by the camera, she takes a deep breath and decides to find a place to sit down while desperately waiting for responses. ]

Third Person:
One should think public transportation came natural to Rhoda, but the train felt foreign for her. All she really ever did was flying. She had rented a small apartment close to the airport so she could get their by foot and it was really all she needed, considering most of her time was spent in the flight attendant room, high high up in the air.
Long distance train rides weren't usual. But that in itself wasn't as unsettling as the general idea of having no idea how she got on the train in the first place. Rhoda took deep breaths, but her hands still clung tightly to the fabric of her skirt. There surely was a good reason for her to be here. There wasn't any need to be unprofessional and panicked. This was nothing she wouldn't be able to handle, right? If her mysterious amnesia continued she'd just ask the next person she saw for information.
Thinking of that, Rhoda raised her arms from her legs to wrap them around her upper body instead. There was nobody on the train. From all she knew about any means of public transport at all, that was highly unusual.
Her relief was immense when the train finally came to a halt. With her steps far shakier than she'd have liked them to be, she stepped out and was immediately greeted by cold wind. The station was empty and only her heels echoed as she walked towards and through the entrance hall. "Hello....?" It was a pathetic attempt, worthy of 'the first to die in a horror movie', but Rhoda didn't really have a better idea to establish contact with any person that might happen to be in the area.

"I should be on my way to Zheng Fa... but this looks nothing like it", she whispered to herself after she had finally accepted that nobody would answer her. How the station management could afford not having any service personal around was a mystery to her. The travellers had to file complains for sure. This was just rude and unworthy of a professional company.
Thinking like this finally calmed Rhoda enough to be able to head to the actual city, determined to find the next airport.

Personality & 3rd Person Revision

[personal profile] belialedge 2014-01-20 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
Hi! Just to clarify, when you say you want the revision to show a clearer grasp of grammar and syntax and whatnot, does this include the personality section too?

If so, that's fine! I'll give the revision tonight before I go to bed or after work tomorrow!

[EDIT] Thought I'd just go ahead and do both anyways. Hope this is better!

Personality:

Cold, loud-mouthed, sarcastic, attitudinal, cynical, grumpy, rude, foul-mouthed, criminal, jerk, asshole, blunt, cruel, rebellious- the list that compiles Ragna's personality in such a grim light is a rather long one. On the surface, many of those descriptions of him would hold water with the way that he comes off to others. While his attitude and short temper are indeed ingrained into his personality, to get the bottom as to why he acts the way that he does is to take a few steps into the past.

Before Ragna would grow up to take the mantle of "Bloodedge", there was a time where he was an easy-going child. While Ragna's origin story isn't entirely known, it is speculated that he is an artificially created human. What is known is that in his earlier years, he lived a carefree, peaceful life with his two siblings at a church with a sister nun. In these early years, Ragna was shown to be a kind and caring brother to both Saya and Jin. His mannerisms, while not dignified, were at least respectfully norma. His compassion to protect his loved ones was also worth noting- although it may also show how single-minded Ragna can be as he gave Saya extra attention when she became ill, while not paying his brother Jin much attention by comparison. This tunnel-vision trait of his shines through in his future self in how devoted he is to his causes, be it defeating the likes of Yuuki Terumi or destroying the Novus Orbis Librarium and everything it stands for.

His bitter and cold outlook on the world would soon become rooted in his mind when his world was flipped upside down. Without warning, the church was burned to the ground and the sister that cared for him and his siblings was murdered. Add his brother being controlled by the mysterious (troll) green-haired man named Terumi to chop off his arm, left for dead at the burning remains of the church with Saya kidnapped and Jin nowhere to be seen, and this concoction creates a recipe for disaster that would inevitably shape Ragna into the strong-willed albeit hate-filled fighter that he had become feared for.

When he was fortunate enough to be saved by Rachel Alucard by being infused with the Azure Grimoire, a powerful ars magus that grants him access to the boundary and feeding upon souls, Ragna took this desire for revenge to heart and was trained by Jubei. As he grew up and got stronger with his master, he developed a burning desire to see the world as he knew it destroyed, as it was his role in the world to upset the balance that was established by the Library. The Library by extension was responsible for everything that was wrong with the world and for what happened to him and his siblings- it was all the motivation that he needed to start down a dark and unpleasant path that would lead him to becoming the world's greatest threat.

"Ragna the Bloodedge"

It didn't take long for that name to become common to the public, his misdeeds of mayhem and the destruction of the individual branches of the Library in each hierarchical city attracting vigilantes and do-gooders alike to seek the bounty of the SS-Class criminal. To be be labelled as a villain in the eyes of everyone was a hefty burden to place upon Ragna’s shoulders, but it only serves to prove just how resilient he is and how accepting he is of the circumstances that surround him. So long as he has the power he needs to do what he’s set out to do, that is all that matters to him- that includes mastering the ability to use the Azure Grimoire which took the place of his lost arm. Though Ragna has been warned to not mistake the power of the Azure as his own, he will press his luck and use it as needed. Given his outrageous strength to begin with though, he doesn’t resort to it often unless it’s against a powerful foe. …or they just happen to piss him off, considering his short temper.

“Out of my way already…or you're dead.”

To say that Ragna embraces the role of a bad guy in the eyes of the common people is an understatement. Vulgar and rude, Ragna isn’t afraid to speak his mind though he will warn others to leave him alone if he isn’t in the mood to talk. While Ragna doesn’t go out of his way to cause trouble except for the destruction of the Library branches that are located in every hierarchical city, he isn’t above a good fight if provoked (be it by a vigilante after the bounty on his head or just being irritated by someone in general). Because of his reputation as the "Grim Reaper", he is more inclined to reject advances of friendship when he knows that it would lead to trouble for him.

This cold front of his most likely stems from his lack of trust in others- though there have been implications that he will shove someone aside to protect them from an incoming threat that's after Ragna. For example, near the beginning of Continuum Shift when Noel wants to talk with Ragna, he angrily tells her to leave him alone. When she finally does abide to his wishes (though not without reminding him that they would be enemies the next time they met), he immediately snuffed out the presence of a dangerous vigilante before fighting him.

When betrayed or wronged by others, it’s very hard to forgive them as is the case with Jin despite figuring out how he was used by Terumi before. Despite all of these seemingly irredeemable traits, such a mindset and jaded attitude could be put into question based upon two factors. One being canon and the other pertaining to being in a roleplaying game (Ruby City) where he’s separated from his world where he’s enemy #1 and unable to continue on with his mission. Of course this also means taking into consideration the other side of Ragna, of which admittedly may be more prominent outside of the BlazBlue universe.

Beneath the gruff exterior that he exudes and the villainous reputation that he shoulders is the same kind-hearted, compassionate man that cares for his loved ones, especially his family. It just so happens that it’s buried deep beneath the betrayal, hatred and bitterness he feels for getting everything taken away from him when he wanted a peaceful life. While he himself has yet to completely realize this yet, his desire for power doesn’t just stem from his desire for revenge, but out of fear that he won’t be able to protect the people around him that matter. This is best exemplified by the way in which he was powerless to stop Terumi from ruining his life as a child.

While still rough around the edges when showing his better side, he’s not above mercy or sympathy, preferring to kick the ass of his opponent instead of outright killing them unless the situation truly calls for it. Otherwise he also has a tendency for getting suckered in by beggars, even when it’s not by his choice; such as treating Taokaka to food or buying Platinum’s meal despite the treatment he receives. While he’s calm and around other respectable people (AKA nice people/not crazy people), he can hold a conversation much more easily and is more willing to show his kinder side. That doesn’t necessarily mean that nice people are immune to his more brutal side, though it typically happens when he’s confused or prodded the wrong way. As for his confusion, Ragna is prone to fits of anger and air-thin patience when he doesn’t understand what is going on around him, as people like Jubei and Rachel tend to not explain whole situations to him- least he either figure it out for himself or fate will have everything fall into place.

Unless your name is Rachel Alucard as well, it would be wise not to call him a pervert or a pedophile, as he has been teased for such statements when just in the presence of others that are younger than him. It also leads to incurring his violent wrath if pushed far enough. Otherwise his luck is terrible and the trouble he gets into when not involving the Library is typically not of his own accord, and is even in spite of his generosity. Granted Ragna isn’t above being a “guy” from time to time, as is evidenced by his checking out Makoto (though in a more subtle manner by comparison to Kagura) when facing off against her.

His emotional attachment to his sister, Saya, is also worth noting. His conflicted feelings in regards to the Murakumo units (namely Lambda-11, Nu-13, and Noel Vermillion) whom all are replicas of her weighs heavily on his mind when it interferes with his objective of tearing down the Library. In the case of Nu-13, who was created to guard the Cauldron of the 13th Hierarchical City, Kagutsuchi, it evidently tears him up on the inside to have to forcefully tell her to shut up and that he was going to destroy her, refusing to use the term ‘kill’ as to try to make the pain less severe in having to defeat her. With Lambda-11, when she sacrificed herself for him at the end of Continuum Shift and regained Nu’s memories and spent her last moments in Ragna’s arms before fading away (giving him the Idea Engine that let him access the true Azure), he was briefly an emotional wreck having to watch her die in his arms. By extension, though initially hostile to Noel Vermillion, Ragna’s attachment to his sister and her genuine human and kind-hearted nature got through to him as well, compelling him to want to protect and save her; even if it cost him his arm once more as he reversed the tempering process that had turned Noel into the Godslayer, Mu-12. While his surprisingly noble and reckless sacrifice may not extend out to others as extensively, it goes to show Ragna’s bravado and how much he seems to not care for his own wellbeing if it means saving those that matter to him.

His resilience being addressed one last time, there have been multiple times in which Ragna has been brutally attacked and even wounded to the point of which the injuries should be fatal. Between the combination of his Azure Grimoire, his own body being the human form of the Black Beast and his own die-hard attitude, he viciously proclaims that he refuses to give up, even when things are looking their most bleak.

“I swore to myself…that I’d…never give up…
I… I’m going… to fight…as a human…until the very end! Until the very end!”

The drive to never give up may be the reason that he has managed to pull through some situations that many would have considered impossible to overcome. Whether it’s for revenge, to protect what matters most to him, or for whatever Ragna sets his eyes upon, the name Bloodedge will carry on with the same weighted burden. Ragna will always be known as the destroyer.

On a final random note, Ragna is a surprisingly very good cook and has a phobia of ghosts that causes him to scream like a girl. So much for his manly reputation.

Third Person:

"Places like this just don't exist anymore..."

It was hard to be in a good mood when an otherwise pleasant-looking town was effectively trapping him here- the sour tone in his voice was enough of a hint for anyone with ears for cynicism. Musing to himself, Ragna had eventually gotten tired of wandering around the city. Evidently that lead the white-haired Grim Reaper to the river, leaning over the side of the bridge to stare at his own reflection for the past hour. Or rather, he would have been had it not been for the fact that the river was frozen. The cold didn't seem to be bothering him either as a light frown marred his lips. This place...no, this world- if what he was told was true, he was more than just blown off course. He wasn't coming back; not yet at least. He wasn't so convinced that there wasn't a way out of here. Maybe the secret lied within the catacombs he'd heard so much about. It wasn't like he was ill-equipped for any dangers that could come his way; he'd likely dealt with worse. But what troubled him the most however...was the fact that he couldn't get back to what mattered the most. Stopping the Imperator and putting an end to the NOL for good; that included stomping Terumi into the ground. But that meant going through her too...

He should have known that it was her. He didn't want to accept it- didn't want to wonder as to why Nu, Lambda and Noel all shared her face. But why? There were too many questions that were now being left unanswered and while he was trapped here in Ruby City, he couldn't do anything about it. That revelation provoked him to clench his fists tighter, forgetting for a second that one of those hands weren't even his to begin with as he felt the anger rising within him. How could he come so far yet gain so little ground? What was his purpose here? He couldn't have died- he couldn't have gone back in time to the past...right? He didn't recognize this place, even if it was a lot nicer than most of the cities back home. Untouched by seithr, by chaos, by...well, him. The people that were here alongside him weren't to blame. Whoever was responsible for trapping everyone here? They were the ones he needed to vent his anger to. He had to put a stop to this and find a way to shatter the barriers that kept everyone from going home. It was Hell in disguise...even if the Hell he would be returning to was likely far worse, his fate a grim one in most likely outcomes. His own choice of words were still strong in his mind however.

As a human, until the very end. He was going to keep fighting until the very end. Gritting his teeth in frustration, Ragna flicked his gloves of the snow that gathered beneath his grip on the railing of the bridge and started walking. Where? Who knew? Ragna wouldn't know for sure until he found the answers he seeked. "Can't figure shit out by just sitting on my ass." ...he wasn't really sitting on his ass, but the point still stood. Standing around and doing nothing...well, it did nothing for him. So he would walk, and check out what this city had to offer- what secrets it kept. What truths were hidden behind the bars of this so-called cage? But more importantly...

Whose ass would he have to kick to get out of here?

Personality:
Not much is known about Nill prior to the series, but whatever happened it’s left her very shy and awkward, especially in social situations -- also strengthened by the fact that she is mute, and can only communicate little by little with exaggerated expressions, hand-movement and writing into palms, proving that she at least has some knowledge about spelling certain words. Despite this, she’s very sweet and trusting, once you prove yourself to not want her any harm.

With her exterior being the perfect picture of innocence, she’s suffered a dark past and has seen much of the harsh things in life. She’s been the witness of murder and pillage, but was dragged out of it by Heine and Badou. With this she’s gotten a more caring demeanour, and once you get close to her she proves to be very supportive and loyal. She’s very paranoid due to her original purpose of mutation, so she’ll be vary around strangers. But, if someone she trusts tells her they’re trustworthy, she’ll believe them.

Unlike the most people in the underground she has no special skill or power, and is mostly helpless in combat, but that doesn’t stop her from fighting for people she cares about. She can be a little crybaby and a scaredy-cat (there’s probably trauma of almost being sold to people as slaves here), but when all comes to all she’d most likely sacrifice herself for the people she cares for, her small and broken family of dangerous killers, who took her in when she needed it the most. With a stomp in the ground and by making herself and her wings look bigger, if that’s what it takes! Although she’s also very clumsy and not much of a quick learner, but she tries her best and doesn’t give up.

Despite her lack of speech Nill proves to be a good listener, very respectful and considerate, proven to be there if you need it. She can only respond with gentle touches and small smiles, but they’re extremely honest and she means well. And all though their world is hopeless, and sometimes she gets scared, she’s very positive, energetic, hopeful and ambitious.

Background: wikia | It’s not that long, but there’s not much more of it, as she’s a side character that mostly stays behind from the action!

Abilities:

- Nill is… pretty useless, except for when you need someone to listen to. She’s proven herself to be unable to patch clothes, but she tries her best!! Soon, she’ll be good at this, too.

- However, for a girl at the age of 14, she’s pretty good at being able to keep calm in stressful situations. She’s so used to gunfiring and battles and blood and everything by now, it nearly doesn’t phase her anymore.

- As a mute girl, Nill’s other senses are heightened.

First Person:
[ She’s so confused. Where is this, where is everyone, where is Heine and Badou where is Naoto where is this where is this--

Taking a deep breath, sitting crouched on the ground by the train station, she stares at the watch in hand. Look into the watch, they say. Simple enough, Nill was familiar with some of these mechanics but…

Being unable to talk is so hard. She’s quick to find the text option. ]

where am i

[ A good place to start, right? Right. Oh, wait, this is rude of her. ]

name is nill

nice to meet you

[ There. That’s proper courtesy, right…? ]

Third Person:

Waking up on the train all of a sudden gave Nill the worst sinking feeling. First of all, where was everyone? She remembered the church, but she couldn’t remember having left the church to go on a train. Nill had never been on a train before, at least one with seats where she wasn’t shipped trapped in cages or small confines, so doubtfully would she go in here alone. She pressed her hands into the cold glass of the window as she looked out, searching. It wasn’t the underground, at least, since the sky here was clear.

Sliding back into the seat, she felt like crying. Had she been kidnapped? She didn’t see any captors around, and when the train stopped, and she exited, no one was out there to get there. She recognized the building as a train station, and that this was a city, a city she’d never been to before. It was cold, snowy, and seemingly empty, as far as she knew. She couldn’t spot any people, at least.

Nill closed her tiny wings as much as she could around her shoulder and huddled up. It was cold, she needed a place to stay. It wasn’t like she could call for anyone, though she really wanted to, so she started moving around, to get warmth, and maybe find a place to stay. It reminded her from before Heine and Badou rescued her, and she didn’t like it. She didn’t like it at all, it felt incredibly empty and very, very lonely. Exhaling, Nill decided it was time to man up. Be brave, like Naoto. It wouldn’t do to give up just yet.
