APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

CHARACTER
Name: Jacqueline Tisch
Age: 24
Appearance: height: 5'3"
eyes: golden-brown
hair: bistre

In daylight, Jacqueline's attire tends to be understated. She's rarely clad in jeans, preferring leggings and skirts, and all of her shoes have heels, to making her seem just a little taller. A scarf completes her attire in the winter, and a fashionable hat is the topper in the warmer months. When out for some sort of Event, her gowns tend to be subtly glitzy and curve-hugging, showing off her form without overdoing it.

In the bedroom, however, all bets are off. The attire available in her spare closet ranges from elaborate corsets to leather thigh-high boots. Behind closed doors, the girl revealed is as different from the daytime princess as one could be.

Chosen PB: Olivia Thirlby

Personality: On the surface, Jacqueline is every bit the demure, socialite princess that her mother always wanted her to be. She's soft-spoken and quiet, with a smile that dazzles in the brief moments that it lights up her face. She tends to listen more than she speaks, and she's more than happy to let people talk themselves to happy death in their futile attempts to fill the void of her silence. (More than one plaything has condemned herhimself to a night of rough punishment because of their overdeveloped need to babble.) She's one to observe, rather than one who needs to be center stage. It gives her more chances to hear all about all the weaknesses someone may or may not have.

She also hoards gossip like a dragon with treasure. Many of the 'pets' she's owned in the past were claimed specifically because they had connections, or because they knew how to ferret out the right rumors and discover the truth under the lies. She likes to be 'in the know', and she'll take great lengths to make sure she is...and occasionally will go even further to ensure that the number people who are aware of how much she knows are kept to a minimum. It's one of her favorite types of power, and she wields it with a subdued caution, using the tidbits of truth she has like unusual currency, buying and selling them at her whims.

In the safety of her own dungeon home, she becomes a different creature entirely. She's very exacting and demanding on her toys, and is prone to bouts of ecstatic rage whenever one of them fouls up. A mistake - any mistake - merits punishment, and her punishments are creative, cruel things. More than one former toy bears scars from a round or two in the second bedroom of her luxurious apartment, and there are plenty who have underestimated her and despaired for it. The Mistress in leather is nothing like the princess in public, and woe unto those who think otherwise...

World Information: Jacqueline came from an alternate earth that is essentially just like the world we live in, with supernatural quirks. There's possibly some supernatural blood in her, and I'm gonna leave that a little up in the air so it can be developed - or not - as the mods/her interactions with the world/etc. see fit.

History: Unlike many socialite couples in Manhattan, Muffy & Edward Tisch were very happy with each other - they met in high school, and married with the blessings of both families shortly after college - and the persistence of their passions are evident in the number of their children. More than two seemed unusual in high society, yet Jacqueline was the third born of the pair's romantic moments, the first girl in the family, followed shortly by her younger sister. Lined in a row, the four Tisch children were split in coloration and hue almost right down the middle - James and Jacqueline resembling their father, with dark hair and brooding eyes, and Parker and Alyssa mirroring their mother in their blue-eyed, blonde-haired visages.

So while Jacqueline was surely spoiled, as are most of society's children, she never felt the privilege of the spotlight as strongly as many of her schoolmates. James, of course, was appointed heir to his father's company when he was still in the crib, and Alyssa would always be 'Mommy's baby girl'. Even Parker seemed to earn more attention than her, with his near-genius IQ and his dazzling academic career. In the end, Jacqueline was just lost in the shuffle - or as lost in the shuffle as a high-born girl can be.

Jackie didn't mind. With even the eyes of the media focused on all but her, she found herself capable of moving through the tides of current affairs unnoticed, a quiet girl in the background while the spotlight focused on the dazzling players main stage. It afforded her a special sort of anonymity, gave her leave to indulge in the sorts of things that would have made society gasp, if they'd only been paying attention. All she had to do was be careful and cautious, and the whole world was none the wiser. When she was little, this meant sneaking out (with the chauffeur, of course; not even at the age of ten was she dumb enough to wander Manhattan with some sort of guard) and exploring Central Park; as she got older, it meant sampling the darker clubs downtown and finding the secret parties that raged in Brooklyn. Unlike most people who get involved in such scenes, however, Jacqueline continued to maintain the appearance of 'socialite princess' in the light of day. It made maintaining her two-faced lifestyle so much simpler when nobody asked questions.

When it came time for college, it was taken for granted that she would attend the same prestigious college that her father and mother had, and her brothers before her. Her arrival wasn't marked with any fanfare - she was not the first legacy to darken the hallways, and she would be far from the last - but there were dark groups here, fraternities and sororities that met in the middle of the night and practiced things not-quite-legal. One of them was a twisted sort of sex-cult, and apparently all of her family had been part of it before her. To learn of it was a bit of a shock, but she welcomed it. It was a little like being back home...except now, she was old enough to take control of who she wanted. After all, she'd seen several times the interactions between Dominant and lesser, and now, she was going to have a chance to sample things for herself. It was like a dream come true, and little miss Jacqueline has no desire to see her dream undone.

Jacqueline, of course, graduated with honors, though not a single member of her family watched her receive her diploma (something that isn't very unusual in the world of the social elite). Some of her closest friends escorted her to the train and wished her well when she boarded for Manhattan. Having had a long day, she tucked her head against a pillow, and decided to take a nap on the short ride back to the city. It was to be her first day as the socialite princess her mother had made her into, and she was going to enjoy it.

When she woke, the train had mostly cleared out, and it was pulling into the station in Ruby City. Now she just has to figure out why she - the most normal of the norm, in comparison to the other 'colorful' residents of the city - was brought here...

Strengths/Weaknesses: strengths: calm, thoughtful, observant || weaknesses: soft-spoken, inflexible, overtly harsh
Abilities: As of right now, Jackie is a very boring human, though she weilds a mean whip. This could develop into more later on, if something triggers her; but that's unlikely to happen anytime soon.

First Person: I'm not sure where you're going with this. [Jackie shifts uneasily, eyebrows arching high on her brow, watching the man before her warily.] I mean, it's not as if I've propositioned you.

[The silence drags on to the point of being uncomfortable. With a bit of a sigh, the girl shifts her bag from one shoulder to another, to make available that well-manicured hand, which comes to rest on her hip. Full lips pursing into a frown, she shifts again, resisting the urge to begin tapping her toe obnoxiously against the ground. This is taking much longer than it should, and she's damned tired of having to wade through this amount of crap, just for a drink.] Look, it's cold out here, and these heels are murdering my calves. Do you know what it's like? Standing around in heels? [She stares up at the man in front of her, doing her best to glower. She's not exactly used to being denied what she wants, and it's starting to irritate her - fire is evident in her dark eyes.]

I don't know who you are. [Her shoulders slump, and she huffs out another sigh in exasperation, blowing her bangs out of her eyes. Naturally, they flutter for a moment, only to settle right back down where they were, partially obscuring her eyebrows and veiling that angry glare, which she fixes firmly on the face of the man barring her way.] But there's no cause to keep me out of here. Now move, or I'm liable to get upset.

Third Person:

Jackie's heel clicked against the wooden platform of the station as she stepped off the train. Her breath came out in a puff of white steam, and she shivered... more due to the unfamiliar scenery than any actual chill the cool outside air may have brought her. Though she'd dressed warmly, she was a New Yorker at heart, and a touch of cool in the air wasn't anything to be afraid of. The alien feel of her surroundings, however, was. This was new, unexpected - and most definitely not where she was supposed to be. Hazel eyes flicked nervously over what was before her: a foggy last stop for the line of a train that was most definitely not the one she'd entered back in Massachusetts. Immediately, almost instinctively, she began checking over herself, looking for signs of foul play. No obvious puncture wounds, no grogginess. Her reactions and reflexes seemed normal - hell, she even checked her pulse with a quick flick of a hand to her throat. No, no foul play. So...what? And where the hell was she?

Her gaze was drawn (finally) to the poster directly in front of her, and her hand slipped into her pocket, which contained the watch she'd found in the seat next to her on the train. She'd had every intention of turning in to some sort of 'Lost and Found' at the train station, but now, with the realization it was hers, she resisted the urge to slide it out of her pocket and confirm that it worked as it should. Rash movement seemed like showing weakness, so she focused instead on slowing her heart rate, on calming her breathing. Make yourself known. Well, if that whole damned thing wasn't ominous, she wasn't sure what was.

With a shake of her head, she curled a hand around her suitcase and began to walk swiftly towards the stairs that she assumed led down and away from the place where the train had dumped her, the wheels of her single carry-on clacking over the boards. She wasn't sure of the rest of her substantial luggage had been magically transported by whatever means to the train that had brought her, and she wasn't ready to find out. Dainty hands politely waved away any that approached, be they other newcomers or the volunteers who were patrolling the worn platform. No, she wasn't prepared for this level of interaction...and she wasn't about to present herself to the public without having a better grip of what, exactly, was going on. These people didn't know who Jacqueline Tisch was.

She was going to have to show them.

She doesn't have any supernatural abilities yet, only because they haven't been awakened: Like an untrained witch, or an "unawakened spark" if you've read "Girl Genius."(but with magic)

Sorry about the confusion!
