APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

[CANON] Gabumon || Digimon Adventure || No Reserve || 3 of 3

[personal profile] blueblaster 2013-12-20 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Abilities:
Gabumon has one ability in particular that he uses more than anything else, and that is his Petit Fire/Blue Blaster attack. He breathes blue flames from his mouth, working as a long-range attack. He is also able to attack with his horn, but Petit Fire is his choice of attack. Gabumon is also capable of evolving three times, each time becoming stronger, but without Yamato or another source to gain power from, he cannot evolve. If Gabumon loses enough strength, he will revert to his in-training stage, Tsunomon. He is particularly vulnerable as Tsunomon, being a weak baby Digimon, but with enough food and rest, he can gain enough energy to evolve back to Gabumon. Tsunomon’s only attacks are a bouncy tackle and spitting bubbles that aren’t particularly impressive.

His other evolutions are:

Garurumon, a wolf-like champion stage Digimon whose fur is incredibly strong. In this form, he is much faster and more powerful. His choice of attack is Fox Fire/Howling Blaster which is an upgrade of his rookie form’s Petit Fire. Fox Fire’s flames are strong, powerful and reach farther than Petit Fire. Garurumon can also tackle his prey, though he uses Fox Fire more than anything.

Weregarurumon, an ultimate stage Digimon who looks just like a werewolf. Weregarurumon sacrifices his previous stage’s movement speed for quick punches and kicks, increased strength in all limbs and improved defense. Weregarurumon’s jump is also very impressive because while he has lost speed, he still retains Garurumon’s strong hind legs. In this form he has two attacks: Circle Moon Kick/Garuru Kick and Kaiser Nail/Wolf Claw. When he uses Circle Moon Kick, Weregarurumon creates a shockwave with just one kick. Kaiser Nail causes the nails on Weregarurumon's hands to glow and is used to slash his opponent.

Metalgarurumon, a cyborg wolf Digimon in the mega stage. Metalgarurumon becomes speedy again while also becoming stronger because its body is a massive weapon. The blades sticking out of his shoulders give Metalgarurumon the ability to fly as seen later in the series, but he stays mainly on the ground. He has four attacks in this form: Cocytus Breath/Metal Wolf Claw breathes a breath so cold whatever it touches freezes and, assuming the opponent is weaker, dies. Grace Cross Freezer/Ice Wolf Claw launches weapons from different compartments hidden on Metalgarurumon’s body. Freeze Bomber/Giga Missile opens a compartment on his chest and launches a freezing bomb. Metal Wolf Snout fires four lasers from the laser sights on Metalgarurumon’s snout.

First Person:
[audio]

Hello? [Quiter.] Is this how you do it? Maybe it’s this one— Oh, it’s working!

[Speaks in a normal voice.] Hello! The sign at the train station says I should introduce myself to everyone here. I’m not sure if this is a good idea, but I think should say it now so none of you get the wrong idea. I don’t want to scare anyone.

My name is Gabumon and I’m a digital monster from the Digital World. You can call me and others like me Digimon. I’m a good Digimon so you don’t have to worry about me making any trouble. I’d rather be friends if that’s all right. I can even cover myself if it makes it easier. Just let me know.

Third Person:
Gabumon gripped the silver watch in one hand while he picked up one of the blankets at the station. He wasn’t cold; his Garurumon pelt warded off any chill he might have felt. With one corner gripped in each hand, he threw the blanket up and over his head so that it covered his horn and body. It was better than the coat he’d hidden under in Odaiba, but no less ridiculous. This way, he thought, he could reach shelter and not risk alarming the rest of the city. The people patrolling the station didn’t seem to mind him, but they were only part of a larger mass whose tolerance Gabumon couldn’t judge.

The coffee shop labeled on the map was open to newcomers, but Gabumon hesitated at the thought of people staying in the same space. If there were people staying there, they would ask questions and demand to know what was under his blanket. Worse, they might take it from him and then fly into a panic. The last time he had wandered around a city, just the sight of a Digimon terrified people. At that time the city was under the control of an evil Digimon, but Gabumon didn’t think he was excused from taking precautions just because of that situation. He wanted to play it safe and keep everyone satisfied.

Anyway, he was a Digimon; he’d spent most of his life living in a forest, and lived in many different places after that. He could survive with simple shelter and food even if it wasn’t ideal. After securing his own space, he could work on gradually introducing himself to other residents until he didn’t need the blanket anymore. If he integrated himself, he would have a better shot at figuring out how to get home. Humans, he thought, would be more likely to help him if they knew he was no threat.

It seemed like a good plan to Gabumon, who nodded to himself. He would have to start immediately if he had any hope of getting home soon. Quickly he gathered some of the available supplies in another blanket, wrapped it up and hugged it to himself while still clutching the other blanket close. When everything felt secure, the Digimon left the train station in search of a new home.
