APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

Abilities: As superheros go, the Cap's abilities aren't that flashy. The experiment that was performed on him enhanced all of his physical and mental abilities to the peak of human potential, or perhaps slightly higher. He is exceptionally strong and fast, and quite tough compared to a normal human. Though he's not impervious to bullets or anything, he can clearly take a lot of damage and survive great deprivation without dying. His metabolism is so fast that he's incapable of getting drunk, and his mental powers have also been enhanced, making him more intelligent and able to think faster than average as well. Matching these abilities with his natural intelligence and tenacity, his ability to think strategically and consider unorthodox options, makes him one of the greatest heros in the world.

First Person:

[At first, the video is pointed at the sky and blurry, then it moves crazily as a distant voice speaks] I dunno how to use this thing-- oh, I guess I talk into it this way.

[Suddenly the handsome blond-haired blue-eyed face comes into view, looking more than a little shy and uncertain of what he's doing. He's not wearing his mask right now, but you might see a bit of blue shoulder, since he is wearing his suit.]

I hope this is working. [He straightens his shoulders, his expression growing more serious and somehow exuding a little more confidence. He's never been a fabulous or confident public speaker, but he has enough experience to fake it when he wants to] My name's Steve Rogers. If you're from 21st century Earth, you might know me as Captain America. [He pauses. He still feels a bit silly pulling that card, but if there is anyone from his world, his time, his fame might help him get in touch with them, so he has no choice. He takes a breath, and continues]

I just arrived here, and I'm looking for some information. Mostly, I'd like to know more about where - and when - I am. Not to mention, the local dangers, and what's been done so far to find out how we got here, and why.

[He sighs, eyes flicking down, then up again] I understand that the general consensus is that we're here to stay, but I'm not about to just accept that. I've been in some pretty tight spots before, and if anyone else is looking to get home... let's talk.

Third Person:

Steve was no stranger to waking up in strange and unusual places. Compared to when he awoke in a fake facsimile of a 1940s bedroom - which turned out to be in 21st century New York - arriving in Ruby City was quite calming and pleasant.

Once he got off the train and the fog that kept him from really questioning things had lifted, he found himself stepping out of the train station into an oddly familiar world. No flashing billboards, no honking horns, no rushing crowds all staring fixedly at their "smart" phones. In fact, he didn't see a single vehicle, modern or old-fashioned. Not a single smart phone, for that matter.

Steve investigated the watch in his pocket, and confirmed that he still had all of his things. He had been carrying a duffle with a change of clothes, a few necessaries, when he left the rest of the Avengers. The bike was missing, but everything else was still there - including his shield and suit, which was almost baffling. Why would someone abduct him and stick him on a train, giving him no idea what they wanted, and leave him with his weapons? Of course, he was a weapon, so maybe they just didn't care.

He slung the duffle next to his shield on his back, ensuring that he could easily grab the shield if he needed to, and walked down the cobbled street. There didn't seem to be anyone to ask nearby, but somewhere in the city there had to be answers.

As he walked, he lifted his head and looked up and around, studying the sky, the ground, each building as he passed. Was this an alien world? If it was, it sure had a lot of familiar-looking things. Though he didn't know Thor well, he was pretty sure this wasn't Asgard. It just didn't seem his style.

Though his tension was snapping high at first, as he walked he slowly found himself relaxing into a stroll. There was no sign of danger, and those few people he passed seemed calm and happy as well. And most of them were human. He chatted with a few of them, and none of them seemed to have definitive answers about why they were there or how to get home. Though most of them had been here for months or even years, they still had no clue why.

Frustrating as this was, eventually he took a seat on a park bench and leaned back, arm stretched across the back and his legs crossed, a smile playing about his lips. If he were going to get kidnapped to some alien world, he supposed it would be a heck of a lot worse. He knew he wasn't about to just give up on getting back - but the fact was, he had no idea where to begin. Might as well enjoy a bit of sunshine before he got back on his mission.
