APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

Revised Third Person:
It was early morning, the sun still slightly hidden behind the clouds when Richter had awoken. The scene before him was coated in dim morning light, the mist in his eyes slowly faded to reveal the world before him as he laid there and breathed in the cool air. The young man groaned and rubbed away the dust and sleepiness from his face as he silently begged the fates to give him another five minutes. In all honesty though, he's not exactly wanting to return to sleep as well.

Several days had passed since he'd arrived at Ruby City and for the most part, his stay had been good with the only exception being the nights. His nights had been anything but restful and it's not the kind he was used to, no. He would usually spend his nights on riding the wind across the city skyline, his sword strapped to his hip as he hunts down criminal scum and scare punks half to death, but ever since he injured his sword arm, his nights had become more difficult. His mind becomes truly alive when the sun goes down but without the distraction of the criminal underworld, it focus on other things like his fears, his regrets, and old memories he would rather not relive.

He closed his eye, darkness hiding the present but showing the past. March 23 1991, roughly ten thirty in the evening, his eighth birthday. The memory of the night was scattered and hazy at best, but he can still picture it in his mind, fragments of precious memories, good and bad. His parents had gone to work, promising him they'll be back sooner than usual to celebrate his special day, bringing with them gifts, cake, anything he would have wanted. Richter expected that night to be the best night of his life, one he would never forget and in way, his expectations were met. To this day he can still feel his sister's shivering hand on his shoulders, the blinding lights of the police car that pulled up to his house, the grim faces of the officers, the dread that had crept up his spine, and the eerie silence that had enveloped his home. His sister had said so many things to him, promises that everything will be okay, that it will only hurt now, that the pain will go away, and that he would be happy again but, they had fallen on deaf ears. Richter had only heard four words, four words that changed his life forever.

'You're parents…..they're gone.'

It was then that the world had turned inside out. He doesn't remember what came next, only the sound of something breaking, his sister pulling him close as he thrashed about, tears flowing down his cheeks like a waterfall, and the world being drowned out by the deafening silence as the darkness dragged him into it's bosom.

"I knew this would be difficult, not agonizing." He rolled to one side of his bed then sat up, and leaned his lethargic body on his knees. He felt terrible, his sleep was shallow and plagued by the ghosts of his past, taunting him, reminding him of the pain and anger that grips his very being. He released a long and weary sigh then stood up and opened the window. The cold dawn air caressed his face as he looked out onto the city, and watched the stillness of the world and the silence that blanketed it. "I need coffee. Do I have coffee?"

Fourteen years had passed since that night and so much has happened since then. He'd made his mistakes, suffered his tragedies, and has found a way to turn his despair into something worthwhile. The silence no longer bothered him, neither did the darkness, and the only thing that bugged him now? Insomnia.
