APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

✗ Canon Application

✗ Canon OC Application

✗ OC Application

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

((apologies this took so long, work and rl snuck up on me. ))

[ Conan has no idea where he is. It's a new and very unpleasant feeling for him that ranks somewhere close to loss of control. How could he not know where he is? He may not know every city in Japan as well as he does Tokyo and the Beika District but he knows them well enough that he should be able to figure out exactly where he is at all times. Which leads him directly to the conclusion that he's not in Japan, the lack of Japanese writing, signs and a mostly western style city were pretty clear indicators he'd somehow found himself out of the country. which shouldn't be possible considering Edogawa Conan didn't have a passport being as Edogawa Conan doesn't actually exist. Someone smuggled him out of the country. Why? He has no idea but he has every intention of figuring that out. ]

[ It takes him a while to trust the communication device he's found, He's dealt with far too many explosives to trust the little communicator placed ever so innocently where it could easily be found. He tries to open it up-he doesn't have the right tools. He'll need screwdriver it looks like. He looks it over again, running his fingers over every side, over the screen and down the back. It's not bowed anywhere though that's hardly an indication it won't immediately explode upon his turning it on. However, the fact someone went through a lot of trouble to get him here told him they probably weren't in any hurry to blow him up. ]

[ He takes a deep breath, closes his eyes to brace for an explosion and presses what he assumes is the power button. After a few seconds he deems that he was correct in assuming it isn't rigged to explode. ]

[ At least, not yet. ]

[ But what is it for? Obviously it's shaped like a phone so communication is probably a good guess. But who is he supposed to be communicating with? The person that brought him here or perhaps someone he's supposed to be working with? ]

[ The device powers up to what he'll assume is the the main screen and he looks at the available options. Network. ]

[ Network implies people. This is what he'll start with. ]

Ne! [ He uses his the cutest, lost little kid voice he can possibly muster. ] I accidentally got off on the wrong stop and I don't know where Tokyo is from here. Could someone help me out? I think Ran-neechan's probably worried by now.

[ No one can resist a lost child. It might be opening up the irritating possibility of being mothered and coddled but if it gets him the information he needs, then it gets him the information he needs. ]

When little Edogawa Conan climbed into bed he felt nothing short of satisfied with how his day had gone. He'd successfully solved a murder, got to test out a cool trick and got to hang out with Hattori all day. He'd never admit it to the Osakan but all and all it'd been what Conan would consider to be a good day however, with things beginning to wind down he started to feel the effects of running all over a large hotel on a minimum amount of fuel. He let out a yawn and fished out the book he'd brought on the trip with him and flipped it open. He didn't get to read too far into it and then next thing he was aware of was waking up.

The first thing he was aware of upon waking up was that he was moving. He could feel the vibrations through the ground-like wheels gliding on tracks. He was on a train? He kept his eyes lightly shut to give off the illusion he was still sleeping in case there was someone nearby. He couldn't remember waking up and getting on a train. Hattori would have woken him when it was time to go that morning and he would remember it-he wasn't that exhausted the night before-was he? The next logical conclusion had to be that someone moved him. The thought that anyone could manage to relocate him in the middle of the night without anyone that was in the hotel room with him and without waking him was enough to register as alarming. He felt himself tense up just a little bit and tried to discern if he was alone or if there were guards around. He couldn't hear anything other then the train gliding along the tracks-nothing no chattering from other passengers and no shifting weight nearby. He was alone. He'd have to take a peek.

This wasn't adding up. He accepted that he was on a train but shouldn't there be other people on the train as well? Japan was a pretty populated place it was hard to believe he was the only passenger on board this train. Still laying the bench, he glanced from one side of the car to another and finally pushed himself to a sitting position and take a look out the window only to note that the didn't recognise the skyline at all. Where was he? He looked up towards the front of the car and and then towards the door, there had to be a sign somewhere stating the location to the train's next stop or perhaps a map outlining the stations it ran through. He slid off the bench and started down the aisle-still in search of a map. Where was he? It wasn't often that he ever experienced the feeling of being completely lost. Even when Kogoro or Ran took a wrong turn in the woods it wasn't too bad because one he knew several survival skills and two he knew enough he could lead them back to civilisation or at least find someone that could point them in the right direction. This was different. There was no one else on onboard to ask-no signs pointing outlining the route and no building out in the distance that he even began to recognise. He felt something like panic start to creep in and went for his phone.

No service.

But how could that be? He knew he didn't get service everywhere in Japan but he should at least get something near any major city. He tried to send off a text to Hattori only for the phone to tell him the message couldn't be sent. Why? Even in bad service area spots he should at least be able to text shouldn't he? With a sharp curse the grip on his phone tightens and he tried to review the situation all over again. There had to be something he was over looking.

...

Was he dreaming? If he was then he should be able to just take control of the dream. He closed his eyes and tried to think of something that he could use as an indicator for a dream-something like a book suddenly being under one the seats he'd already checked. Nothing. Not even a page. The fact that he couldn't take control of what was was going on around him meant it wasn't a dream. But if it wasn't a dream then what...?

He felt the train starting to slow down. He got immediately back on his feet and rushed back up to the front-it was coming up at a station. He wasn't sure if this was the intended final destination but he was getting off either way to try and find out where he was, why he was here, who put him on this train, and how to go about getting back home.
