APPLICATIONS
✗ Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
✗ IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.
In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.
{[Canon] Claire Stanfield || Baccano! || No Reserve || 1 of ? ]
Name: Kaena
Personal Journal: N/A
E-mail: ladykaena@hughes.net
AIM/MSN/etc: Scourgeofthemist
CHARACTER
Name: Claire Stanfield, or Felix Walken
Canon: Baccano!
Timeline: After he's begun killing the white suits on the train, before he decides to propose to Chane.
Personality: [rubs hands together] -w-
It's difficult for people to tell how Claire's mind works. He seems like a pretty normal, if a bit of a flamboyant person when all is well in his world. Everything seems to be at a whim for him. If something strikes his fancy, he goes after it. Claire has no shame, and no regret (why should he? It's his world). He's also quite a flirt, and seems to fall in and out of love very easily. He's pretty clueless when it comes to women, as he's stated. He is very sure about the decisions he makes, and you can be sure he has some kind of irrefutably flawed logic in his arsenal to back it up. He usually appears very easy-going and friendly. He's very into the moment, and doesn't dwell unnecessarily on past doings - unless they're brought up. He's sure he could have all kinds of fun, entertaining stories.
Claire is a solipsist. This means that he is of the thought that the world only exists because he wants it to. Whenever he dies, he believes that the world around him will be no more, and he will just 'wake up' as if from a dream. It doesn't help that he's got the strength and wit to do pretty much whatever he wants. He joined the circus at a young age and built up enough muscle to be revered as 'super human'; he's also the type of fighter that takes control of a situation by easily adapting, and using daily objects around him as weapons. He's a quick thinker, and a dangerous one at that. That being said, he's actually fairly simple of a character to understand, once you get out of the ind set of a 'normal' person. He is simply extremely free, and very self assured that no matter what, everything will be okay because his mind is the only thing that's real. That being said, he's very hard to phase.
Claire has a very twisted sense of justice - but why not? The world is his, after all. He's the best assassin in the world, but that doesn't mean he doesn't do a few personal side jobs for himself. If there's someone that he sees as too morally wrong, they'll go on his hit list. Whenever he makes a kill, though, you know who did it. Vino (wine in Italian) got his nickname due to the way he mutilates his victims. There's so much blood and gore afterward, that it looks like they were completely covered in red wine. It's the only way Vino will believe that someone is dead. In the series, for example, most of his victims were killed by him pressing their body parts down onto the railroad tracks as the train was still moving.

[The train stops in the station, just as the captors have scheduled it. Steam heats the tracks as the wheels roll to a halt, and as the doors open, another arrival is expected, but none comes forth. The train stays, dubtifully, waiting for its passenger to hop off.
And eventually the passenger will crawl out from under the train, and the first thing anyone nearby will see is a shock of red, followed by more red. His pant legs from the shins down are still kind of the off-white cream color of the conductor's uniform he wears, but they're still speckled with red here and there. He stands fully and looks around at this new place - somewhere that Claire has never been before. He tosses the disembodied arm in his hand to the ground and steps forward a bit. He speaks, in a thick Brooklyn accent.]
...hey, wasn't it dark outside justa second ago?
[Because this is the most important thing, obviously. He pulls his watch out of his pocket to check the time, only to be astounded once more - it seemed that his watch had turned into some technologically advanced hoo-dad that he would have no idea how to use. He decided to keep it anyway, and puts it back in his pocket. Citizens will have caught a glimpse of his red-covered self, reddish brown eyes and wild red hair beneath all that gore, and any with a sensitive nose nearby will pick up the scent of quickly coagulating blood.
Vino is in town.]
Third Person: It was a new place, a new city, sure.
Claire was good enough for this place, wasn't he? After all, he'd arrived here by train. This was going to be something new and exciting; a home away from home. He could do whatever he wanted, just like back home. That wasn't so bad. Maybe this place was part of his mind, too. Maybe a new part he hadn't discovered yet.
Also, he could have died and just woken up.
The real world, then, huh?
...no. He didn't remember dying. And he's pretty sure he would have remembered. He wasn't sure if the real world was supposed to be more glorious or more broken down than his world back home, but this one didn't even look all that big. This world was full of people who seemed a bit more gifted and talented than himself. And so long as they stayed good people, he might get along with quite a few of them. These captors that everyone was talking about seemed like a whole different story. They who 'owned' this world, who caused people so much harm because they could...
Well, Claire hadn't really seen it for himself, so he wouldn't bother with it for now. It was time for him to get to know the place and the people, not worry about some high-powered yahoos who he's almost positive Ladd Russo would get his rocks of with pretty quickly. Or perhaps not; he seemed like the kinda fella who was fired up for a good slaying all-day-every-day, while these people supposedly took breaks. Well, good for them, being unpredictable.
Claire wiped the back of his bloody hand over his equally bloody forehead, smearing the drying substance with sweat from the heat of the day. He'd been here about twenty minutes, it was time to go find a place to live and get cleaned up.

PLEASE BE AWARE: THE CITY IS CURRENTLY IN THE MIDST OF AN EVENT.
So, instead of entering via train(as would be normal), this is the scenario all new residents will face if you choose to intro them at this time:
[...You wake up lying on a beach, the sound of the sea in your ears. Above you, the sky is a pure, brilliant blue, with nothing but a few wisps of cloud drifting lazily across it. The city – and indeed the entire world that contained it – is gone, replaced by an idyllic island, surrounded on all sides by a vast, sapphire ocean. The sand on the beach where you find yourself is a pure, almost too-clean white, scattered here and there with perfect conch and auger shells. Upon turning away from the sea to look at the island itself, you will find yourself viewing something which is nothing short of a paradise.
The beach stretches away in both directions until it curves around each side of the island, and borders a lush-looking forest which slowly rises to cover three low mountains. Over the softly rushing sound of waves, birdsong fills the air, accompanied now and then by the sounds of the native animals.
This is no civilisation, however. This island was never built to support a population that so widely depends upon a certain level of comfort for their happiness. No houses or shelters of any kind save for naturally forming caves are to be found here, and no supplies that do not need to be gathered or caught. Although the island looks safe enough in the daylight, beware, for as much as it was not made to be inhabited by the city’s residents, there are creatures that come out at night which may see these sudden new arrivals as a welcome change from their normal diet…]
The event's OOC explanation can be found here, and you're welcome to either intro your character now or at the event's end, as you prefer.
Thank you!
