APPLICATIONS

✗ Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.

However, when discussing personality please include why they have particular personality traits, how this effects their lives and interactions. A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

Personality:
”A lady should be super weak and cute in front of her lord. It’s the most important thing, to be an innocent, naïve girl. It’s your job to smile and be surrounded by nice things, just like in nursery rhymes.”
These are the words given to Elizabeth by her aunt, Madam Red, when she is a young girl. And they are the core for why Elizabeth puts forth the face that she does when in the precence of Ciel and others. She is almost always smiling and pretending to be happy; even if confused or worried at the moment. Her obsession with being cute, wearing nice things, and dressing those around her up as well are all part of maintaining this image of being a young innocent naïve girl. In this aspect of her personality she is very childish; smiling, laughing, and throwing tantrums freely to ensure that she appears to be unknowing about other aspects of society outside of the finer things that surround her. She is picky about her clothes and constantly wanting to appear cute, and imposing the same standard on all of those around her. While in the presence of others she is more than happy to pretend to be unknowing of any number of things and rely on Ciel to protect and provide for her. In public appearance she lives by the rhyme all girls born to her status know, “Poetry over philosophy, embroidery rather than cooking, dance instead of chess. Be an unknowing angel.” She is happiest when she is able to live this kind of life, one full of picnics and balls, laughter and cute things, in which she can be with her family and her fiancé.

However, Elizabeth is the daughter of the Marquis Midford, head of the Order of the British Empire, and Rancis Midford, which means that she has a hidden strength that pride that has been inherited. In addition to learning to waltz, Elizabeth is a genius with a sword. While at one point she had asked her mother to be able to stop her sword lessons, after Ciel’s return she became dedicated to being strong enough that she would be able to protect him. As such while she will act as if she is helpless and allow Ciel to protect her, if it means protecting him then she will do what it takes to ensure his safety, no matter how un-cute it may be. Her abilities and determination to her training have pushed to a point that far surpasses a number of other humans and for a brief moment impresses even Sebastian.

But all of this, the polite manners, the childish demeanor, and the fierce determination to be strong and yet appear weak is for one person; Ciel. Her feelings towards Ciel are described as more of an obsession, one that she has had since she was a little girl. All of her life she has been told she would be the wife of the head of the Phantomhive household, and as such there were certain things she had to learn. When she thought that dream was lost when Ciel was kidnapped and his parents killed, Elizabeth fell into a depression. Though with his return she realized that something had changed and worried about, while still maintaining hope and holding onto her dream of the two of them being together and happy. The worst thing for her would be for Ciel to see her as scary or for him to reject her. It is for him that she will do almost anything, even if it goes against everything that she has been taught.

Abilities: As a young lady of high society, Elizabeth has learned all of the essentials which every girl born into such a position will have been expected to master. Among these are poetry, crochet, embroidery, ballroom dancing, and hostessing. These are things that she has been taught from a young age and practices regularly. In addition however, as the future wife of the Phantomhive family and daughter of the Marquis Midford, Elizabeth has also extensively trained with a sword. It is commented that she is a genius with a sword, and has a skill that surpasses her elder brother and a number of other nobles training to be part of the royal knights. Her skill surpass simple swordsmanship and allows her to effortlessly dual wield and present a skill that surpasses most others.

A party? But the season should be over since it’s September already, most everyone would have already been heading away back home. But if there’s going to be a party I’m going to need a new dress, and new shoes too!

[ She’ll be happy about that for the moment, at least until someone bursts her bubble and reminds here that isn’t quite like home and she won’t be getting new dresses and shoes for every social event that she goes to. Or the fact that there won’t be many of these to begin with. It's at this point she actually looks into the watch a speaks directly into it.]

I’ve never been to an equinox party. What kind of things do people do there? Is it like a ball where everyone dances, or something where people dress up in costumes and wear masks?

Who all is going? Of course I’ll be there, and Ciel will be there too. I look forward to getting to meet many of you that Ciel has told me about. I’m so happy!

While we thought your app was very strong in most aspects--good job--we would like a little more information on how she interacts with people that aren't Ciel. How does she treat her other friends, or her family? As she's going to be in contact with total strangers upon arrival to the city, how does she act around strangers? In the presence of her brother and her Father, Lizzie is a free spirit. She will over indulge and enthusiastically jump into anything that catches her attention with no reservation or hesitation. She often forgets etiquette and can be rather loud along with childish, forcing them to put up with ridiculous demands as they are willing to dote on her and do almost anything she wants. With her mother however, it is the exact opposite. The strong nature and upbringing of her mother means that when she is around Lizzie is expect and reminded to act according the rules that are established for a proper Lady. She is much quieter and observes proper etiquette least she be scorned, in addition she does not make outlandish requests or refusals; having done so once to receive a rather harsh punishment.

Around strangers she will be energetic and hopefully, open to meeting and getting to know all of the residents of the city that she can. Often she will likely try to invite to the manor and throw all kinds of dances, parties, or get togethers for lunches or dinners; often likely requiring or requesting for others to dress up and possibly going so far as to dress them up herself and being rather insistent. In formal settings though she will observe at the least the basics of proper formality and conversations. As time passes on and she begins to understand the city a bit better, eventually she will likely open up to someone about how she really feels and talk about what she feels her true responsibilities are. At this point she will likely find someone who can help her to continue her sword training and that she can confide in about her insecurities and doubts.
