APPLICATIONS
✗ Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
✗ IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.
In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.
[Canon] Kirei Kotomine | Fate/Zero | Reserved | 4/4
Good evening. [His manner is sober, but irreproachable, as he takes his leave. He's not a highly social man, but it's politic to have allies, or at least associates, and so he does have them here.
Walking home, it's not long before Kirei becomes aware of the fact that he is being followed. With his heightened awareness, the signs are unmistakable. He doesn't know who it might be, pacing slowly behind him, taking care to soften their footsteps, to maintain a certain distance. He does know that they have underestimated him. He waits. He allows himself to be trailed. The sun is setting, night drawing near. Little by little, the stranger draws closer. It could be that they're only curious, but it could be something more. Whichever is true, his uncertainty doesn't affect his reaction. He chooses his moment with skill and care, like any well-trained assassin, and once the moment arrives, he acts decisively.
Without warning, blades appear between his fingers, long and sharp: his Black Keys. He strikes out. He's fast, and the man behind him doesn't have time to react before Kirei bears down on him, knocking him flat. Fortunately for him, Kirei saw no need to begin with a killing blow.
His expression doesn't change. There's a blankness in his dark eyes. It's at times like this that Kirei's manner, so placid, so quiet, becomes alarming, contrasting his deadly speed and force. He pauses, the tips of his blades a mere fraction of an inch from the throat of his former follower, now his captive, as he holds the man's gaze.]
It would be best if you tell me who you are.

Third Person:
The cathedral was one of the first things he saw in the city. He caught a glimpse of its spire rising into the sky, shortly after disembarking at the station. Tall and stark, it stood alone, like Kirei himself. He studied the posters with his usual cool, disaffected air, but inwardly, he was troubled. The Grail War had already begun, and he was a part of it. The Church had asked him to assist Tokiomi in the battle. If he were removed from it, he would be failing in his duty to the Church, and thus, to God. What would happen, if he were absent? They had planned a detailed strategy.
The fact that he had been taken away at such a crucial time had aroused his suspicions at once. He was a suspicious man. By now, everyone should have believed he was out of the War. Could this abduction be the work of one of their rivals? No, it bore none of their hallmarks, and he could sense no other Servants, no Masters, just as he couldn't sense or summon his own Assassin. This felt like something--quite different. He felt cut off, isolated. It was not an unfamiliar feeling. He had felt that way for much of his life.
Kirei studied the posters, looking for answers. The information printed there was simple and straightforward, yet the answers he found were relatively few, and many questions remained to puzzle him once he had finished reading. There wasn't enough at the station to hold his attention for long, and he kept glancing toward what he could see of the cathedral. A place of God. In this alien city, it was familiar, as the Church always was, no matter what city he found himself in.
Once he was done with the posters, he turned his attention to the unfamiliar watch in his possession. He flipped it over in his hands, studying each side before opening and closing it. He heard a snippet of voice, then opened the watch again. He listened, heard more. As with the posters, he took in everything, yet wasn't satisfied. After a brief study, he determined the device was a communicator, then pocketed it, unused for now. He did not wish to speak to man. He wished to speak to God. God was everywhere in spirit, but Kirei knew where he wanted his body to go. He turned away from the station and made his solitary way into the city proper, striding toward the cathedral.
