APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

[CANON] Castiel || Supernatural || no reserve || 3 of 3

[personal profile] haloslipping 2013-01-15 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
First Person:

[The feed starts, and... there's only an eye - maybe one can see the bridge of a nose, a wrinkled eyebrow even. Is he holding the watch too close to his face? He thinks not.]

Who is this? [His voice is deep and grave as he continues unceremoniously.] Gabriel, if this is another one of your pranks, I have no time to lose. There are things that need to be done, and I will not be dragg--

[There's a thud and the watch goes flying through the air as Castiel walks straight into a street sign. It lands a few meters away, now capturing the man in a suit and a trenchcoat as he winces and walks over to pick the watch up from the floor... and holds it upside down.]

Stop this right this instant. What have you done to Dean and Sam? [And now he's staring at the watch, waiting for a reply.]

... how do I disconnect this? [Cue Castiel closing and reopening the watch several times before the feed eventually cuts out.]

Third Person:

He opened his eyes.

He didn't know why he closed them in the first place. He did not require sleep after all, but still he felt the need to try and shut everything out. It only made him more tired in the end; he didn't understand why humans would call something like this rest.

With a single thought, he was outside. The streets were deserted, and the night lights were flickering, casting his shadow across the ground. He could see a glimpse of wings crawling its way out of the shadow's back. Dean would find some irony to it, probably, although Castiel wouldn't understand the joke. Once again, he conjured his thoughts, and in the blink of an eye he was no longer surrounded by buildings and pavement, but trees, grass and humidity. It still wasn't good enough. This was as far as his powers got him, apparently, but he was still trapped inside the city.

He didn't appreciate being here. He did not like the distraction. It got in the way of his faith.

He surveyed the entire area; once he would have admired its beauty, but now... he was not sure what to even admire anymore. This was not even his Father's creation - he could tell by the brushstrokes and the color palette that this was not one of His works. This itched at the back of his brain, at a place he couldn't reach, and for reasons he couldn't quite comprehend. He was never so naive as to think He was the only God in a Universe so vast - or in a myriad of Universes, as it seemed to be the case. Or was he?

He returned to the city by foot, his mind plagued with questions, doubts - plans. Tomorrow he would find Dean, and they would think of something else. Maybe they could try one of Dean's plans. Those seemed to work... sometimes.

Soon he was back inside - a room that wasn't really his, with a bed he didn't use next to a table with a lamp that he hadn't turned on yet, and a chair he had never sat on before. He closed a door he hadn't even touched until then, and lied in the rough mattress. He hoped that if he closed his eyes enough times at night, he would be able to experience something close to sleep, and then maybe his thoughts wouldn't be so jumbled, his mind would be clearer, and his powers restored for long enough that he could pull them out of there.
