APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

{[Canon] The Doctor (10th Regeneration) || Doctor Who || No Reserve || 2 of 2 }

[personal profile] keepcalmandrun 2013-01-23 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
This regeneration of the Doctor has a very positive outward attitude. He is, for all appearances, cheerful, outgoing, optimistic and energetic. He is constantly dashing too and fro with excited explanations and often a bit too exuberant about dangerous situations as long as they are 'new'. He tends to talk fast as well, resulting in him ranting about silly things, and even things that most people are oblivious of, because, well he’s a Time Lord and he has seen many a strange things.

He is outgoing and dwells on the past far less than his previous regeneration, often quickly changing the subject or taking only a brief moment to reflect on his own past. He is positive, even in awkward or dangerous situations, wearing a smile on his face most of the time. It’s when he doesn’t have a smile that is when you should really worry. He sees potential in any sort of organism, be it human, an alien or a creature. The Doctor believes they are unique in their own right, and are fascinating. Being the last of his own kind, he doesn’t talk about his past all too much. The only time he will tell someone about his past is when he has grown to get to know a person very well, like his companions Rose, Donna, Captain Jack, and Martha.

The Doctor is a passionate individual, and when he gets angry or upset, he will not hesitate to throw himself into the fray and sacrifice himself for others he cares for, even if he is the last of his own kind. His whole demeanor changes into one that is cold and ruthless. It’s a silent anger that would shake the very soul of anyone who witnesses it. When he gets this angry, it is as if he is a different man. He is willing to make compromises and offer his enemies a chance to take back their decisions and threats. But when they push his patience, the Doctor is ruthless and unforgiving, even wiping out an entire species.

Whenever he loses someone he dearly cares about, or fails in a mission, he does not take it lightly. It is clear the Doctor is devastated each time someone else is ripped away from him. At several points in this regeneration's life, he attempts to travel without a companion, hoping that by being alone he will not get hurt further with another loss. But The Doctor needs people. Above everything, he needs people. He needs a distraction from the memories that haunt him in his own silence. The guilt and time that weighs on his mind. For this he needs the companions he gathers along his travels. He needs someone to make him more human, to tell him when to stop and to keep him from hardening to the Universe.

When confronting an enemy, he rarely ever takes up a weapon. He believes in the power of words and conversation to resolve things. Most of the time, the Doctor will run. This way, it keeps himself and his enemy alive. If his enemy can’t find him, then neither of them will die! Simple as that. But that won’t stop the Doctor from trying to stop his enemy. He usually takes a less violent method when it comes to taking down his enemies, but if pushed too far, he will take up a weapon, as a last resort.

The Doctor is always fascinated by new things, even if they are dangerous looking. He won’t hesitate to go up to a new object or being, and inspect it, or even touch it, if he dares to.

He doesn't like to trouble his companions, keeping a positive outlook and a smile for as long as possible, even in grim situations. He is always alright, in his words. Even when he clearly isn't. Preferring to press on and swallow down the pain and sorrow around him and move forward. He is always running. Not just from places or people, but from himself and his past. Terrified that if he stops everything will come crashing down on him and drown him.

First Person:
[The Doctor does not look pleased in the slightest. His usual cheerful smile replaced by a far more somber expression, and the dark circles present beneath his eyes tell of the strain the recent changes are putting on him.]

This city- The entire city is a churning mass of time and space anomalies. Universes crashing together and colliding. People who shouldn't be alive, people who should never have been here, coming and going, seeing things they should never have encountered. Traces of so many particles in the air, on the people, the technologies. All this movement through time and space and parallel universes and its effects are becoming clearer to me. The Tardis could feel it, brought me here for a reason. I don't know what that reason is yet. But I am going to find out.

In past trips I let it slide. I continued onward, because I did not, do not, fully understand what was happening. I should have paid closer attention to the signs.

[He frowns and shakes his head, running fingers through his hair until it stands on end]

Something is coming. Something drawn to this place like a moth to a flame. Places like this do not exist with out consequences. Things out there are noticing you. Dangerous things. Things you can only imagine in your deepest darkest nightmares.

[His expression turns darker, gaze sharp and focused as he addresses the people he believes to be behind the growing rifts in time around the city.]

I want a word with you, MDEA. We need to talk.

I don't know how you are doing it, I don't know why. But know this. You are altering the very course of time, and that comes with a price. A price you have not even begun to understand. I can not allow this to continue. This is your warning.

Third Person:
The sound could send certain people running. Some away. Some to. Always running. An awful lot of running. It was a sound that was known very well to anyone who had spent time in the presence of The Doctor. It was the sound of the Tardis.

The Blue Police Call Box faded in and out, the sound reverberating off the buildings around it. When the noise finally stopped, the door swung open, the doctor stepping out onto the busy street, both him and his little blue box unnoticed by those passing by. Taking a deep breath, he smiled, crossing his arms. "Ah Cardiff. 1837, still growing, flourishing. Look at all this hustle and bustle. Humans, going about their lives, working, building, living. So resourceful and determined. Love it. Love humans. You're all so brilliant."

"Ay, what you going on about this time, then?" Rose joked, pulling her jacket closer. It was nippy out and the snow on the ground was melting into her sneakers and he was going off on his human-race tangents again. Figures.

"Look around you, Rose! This is earth at it's finest. Creating new things, expanding, ever searching for that next thing." He grinned, that cheeky crooked grin, hands in his pockets as he turned to look at her. "Places to see, things to do. Allons-y, Rose Tyler. We don't want to miss it."

She gave him a dry expression before laughing lightly. There was something about The Doctor. You just couldn't help it. His enthusiasm was infectious. "Miss what, then, you daft man." She asked, pushing him before linking her arm in his, walking along beside him.

He simply grinned at her, watching the people in front of them, a single word for his reply.

"Life."
