APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

Applications are processed weekly, every weekend. The cut-off time for the submission of applications is 11:59PST on Saturday.
✗ Before applying, please read the FAQ and Rules pages.
✗ Please submit your application with the journal you plan to use if you have one made already. If not, another journal is fine, but we prefer your intended journal so it makes for an easier time in granting access to the mod journal and the contacts page.
✗ For very long applications, we would ask you to please separate them into various comments so that they will not take up too much of the page.
✗ Please title your application as { [CANON/CANON OC/OC]CHARACTER NAME || Series Title || reserve/no reserve || X of X } in the subect header
IMPORTANT: Our application form was edited on September 07, 2015. Please use the revised form.
✗ If you are looking for an example of what an application should be like, please refer to the application here for an example of a canon character application, and here for an original character application.

A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

I FEEL BAD BECAUSE I KEEP COMMENTING but the intent of it is to explain the fact that in canon she doesn't believe herself human at all, honestly. If I need to provide the parts of the wiki/canon that state that I'll be glad to do the ground work for it but I'm also, as I said, not offended to have to just write it out. It's just simply canon that she considers herself... outside of that boundary of humanity, I guess is the best way to say it? It's a little difficult to phrase in anything shorter. The gender/humanity variance is a trope shared between this saber (Fate/Zero; Fate/Stay Night), Nero!Saber (Fate/Extra), and Arturia's paternal son (to whom she is the literal father), Mordred (who is a part of the latest released series that is still being translated, Apocrypha, and actually has the most controversial of the gender-related views in the series).

I really don't want it to cause any trouble so I really am okay with writing it out but I do want you to be aware that there is canon fact backing these claims and a friend considering Nero!Saber is a little worried about things regarding this situation because of it. I am very aware that it is a delicate situation for many reasons (beyond gender; the concept of being above humanity is a controversial one in itself), but other than writing it out and disregarding it, I don't know how to fix it, as denying it would be denying canon information.

I definitely don't want to make this any more difficult and wouldn't be pushing the issue if, from canon information/quotes and the influence of much of the fandom via tumblr, Arturia didn't believe herself to be disconnected from humanity and gender. It definitely plays a bigger role in Fate/Zero than it does in Fate/Stay Night, but most of the information regarding this issue comes from /Stay Night and the /Stay Night retelling of Arturia's history as King Arthur. And, as I said, it's a trope shared among the three female-bodied Sabers (there being only two male-bodied ones but Apocrypha!Saber/Mordred believes themselve to be male) and thus cannot easily be avoided between any of them, else I probably never would have mentioned it.
