A note for CR AU applications
Ruby City does allow previous game history/CR to be brought over on a case by case basis. If you want to include this in your application please add additional sections for PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT and PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY beneath the Personality and Background/History sections.

In these additional sections we would like to see a brief outline of your character's previous game history and how it potentially impacted on and altered their canon personality.

CHARACTER
Name: Harry Potter
Canon: Harry Potter
Timeline: Post Deathly Hallows (but before the epilogue)
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a

Personality: For having grown up in a neglectful household and then suddenly being thrust into a life of fame, friends, tragedy and danger; Harry Potter is, for the most part, a well-adjusted teenage boy. Everybody in the Wizarding World knows his name, but he doesn't let that go to his head. In fact, he would love nothing more than to have a quiet life where nobody recognises him and he's left to hang out with his friends and have fun like a normal kid. It seems, however, that fate isn't content to allow him to keep anybody who closely resembles a parental figure, save the Weasley's. So many people around him have died, and a part of him can't help but feel responsible. First his parents, who died protecting him during Voldemort's first reign. Then the godfather he grew up not realising he even had; and Dumbledore, who had taken Harry under his wing. Even Remus, who had been a teacher first and whom Harry had developed a close friendship with afterwards. Snape, who showed his true colours in the end. His friends--Fred, Dobby, Tonks, Cedric, Moody, and even his owl Hedwig. So many people he knows, and even more whom he never met.

He's faced down one of the most dangerous dark wizards ever known multiple times, accepted his own inevitable death, lived in an environment of ever-present danger the past few years, and has managed to overcome all of it. However, it has added up and puts a weight on his shoulders heavier than anything he's had to bear in his earlier years at Hogwarts. For this reason, he'll be experiencing some very mild PTSD, mostly in the form of nightmares and flashes. (Canonically, he's been experiencing this since at least the fourth/fifth book, because he had nightmares all summer long after Cedric's death.) It won't get out of hand in his case, however, because he's a naturally open person and isn't averse to talking about his emotions and experiences with people he trusts. I don't want it to become a focus that all of his interactions are going to hinge on, because he's strong enough to work through it, and he's not the sort of person to let it consume him; but I legitimately can't see him coming out of the events of Deathly Hallows without a few demons.

CHARACTER
Name: Severus Snape
Canon: Harry Potter
Timeline: After the events of Half-Blood Prince.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A!

Personality: As Head of Slytherin House, it’s only fitting that Severus possesses a great deal of what Salazar Slytherin found to be admirable qualities in a wizard. As those belonging to Slytherin are known to be, he is a man of ambition as well as cunning, finding the mind to be a far more useful weapon to him than any wand could be on its own. Recognized as an exceptional wizard even during his school years, he is both intelligent and well-studied, though that is where praise of his character usually ends. He is a talented liar with a cutting, if acidic, turn-of-phrase as well as a skilled occulemens, abilities that complement each other rather well and are quite desirable in a double agent, put to good use in keeping his true thoughts and motivations well-guarded from those who might attempt to pry. Stubborn to a fault, he is known for being incredibly ornery and determinedly caustic. While his temper is explosive when provoked, the rest of the time he is almost infuriatingly calm and soft-spoken.

Severus was an awkward child with poor social skills, something he never quite managed to grow out of. His home life was quite difficult, though he has done his best to keep the details from being made public. His parents were constantly at odds with each other, with his father being particularly abusive – though Snape’s memories only admit to there being emotional and verbal abuse, it’s implied that his father may have been violent, as well. This, along with a great deal of neglect, did much to shape his bitter disposition. His dislike for Muggles likely stems from his disdain of his father, though that same hatred was not enough to keep Severus from adopting similar behavior as he grew older. Unfortunately, children who are bullied and humiliated often learn to do the same to others, which is certainly true in Snape’s case, as can be confirmed by many of his old schoolmates or current students. He is bitter, misanthropic, and often solitary, having never quite managed to get a firm grasp on social graces. He is incredibly biased towards his own house, students and other individuals who have won his favor. Even on his best days, he is frequently condescending and often openly cruel, making cutting remarks without a thought towards filtering them, even when (or especially when) students are involved.

As mentioned before, Severus is lauded for being a brilliant wizard with an incredible aptitude for academics. He excelled during his school years and was made a member of the Slug Club, though his fascination with the dark arts made Slughorn decide that Snape would never amount to much of anything despite his great potential. He is both resourceful and thorough, and as a student, he was seen to come up with a number of innovations and improvements to potion recipes, as well as other spells, that were able to produce results that actually surpassed those achieved by students who had followed the book directly. He also invented several spells, some of which became popular upon discovery, such as Levicorpus, which was ironically used against him, triggering events that he cites as his worst memory. Muffliato, the Langlock Curse and Sectumsempra were also among his creations, the latter being particularly dangerous and meant very clearly for enemies.

He had an early fascination with the dark arts that only persisted as he grew older, and even when he promised Dumbledore his loyalty and agreed to teach at Hogwarts, Dumbledore refused him the Defense Against the Dark Arts position, feeling that such close proximity to dark magic would be too much temptation for Severus to resist. However, since Snape’s skill with both devising and brewing potions was more or less unparalleled, Potions Master was a rather fitting occupation for him. As a teacher, he is known for being a ruthless disciplinarian and has little patience for foolishness or students who waste his time. Despite his harsh methods, he is considered to be a strong educator and is well-respected among the Hogwarts staff, several of whom actually consider him a friend as well as colleague, news that would be sure to shock several of his long-suffering students.

Despite having a keen and discerning mind, Snape has been accused of putting it to the task and arriving at the completely wrong conclusion on more than one occasion. Despite his intellect, he allows his personal bias to interfere with his judgment, allowing himself to make snap-decisions based solely on what he is convinced must be the truth. Of course, since he feels a certain way, it must be so – this most often comes into play concerning James Potter and Sirius Black. While not terribly fond of Remus Lupin, Severus does find him to be the least offensive of the Marauders and has a certain (miniscule) degree of professional respect for him. Severus is quick to place blame when someone he dislikes is involved, rather than taking the time to more closely examine the evidence at hand. He is extremely prone to jealousy, shown in the latter years of his rivalry with James Potter, and can hold a grudge for years on end, clinging to his resentment as though he would be lost should it ever escape him. He is a proud creature, and once his pride has been injured, he will not forgive it easily, if at all.

Over time, Severus has come to accept that life is full of disappointments. He is not a believer in happy endings or coddling and justifies his harsh treatment of his students as a way of preparing them for the outside world. For as bitter and cruel as he can be, he is not, at his core, a bad person. Though he made mistakes when he was younger, he has long since accepted responsibility for his past deeds and come to understand that each and every action has its consequence. Though he has aimed to redeem himself for years, he works towards it quietly, requiring no one’s approval but his own – and, of course, Dumbledore’s. Snape’s actions during the second wizarding war were not seen by many, and those who did witness his deeds labeled him a villain, though each and every move was designed to bring Voldemort and his Death Eaters one step closer to their downfall. Though he is a talented liar, Severus is a thorough man who keeps his promises, and his loyalty, when truly given, is unwavering, as seen when one considers his relationship with Albus Dumbledore. He understand that sometimes, horrible things must be done out of necessity. Sacrifices must be made, and pain must be brought forth in order to serve the greater good. It’s an unpleasant fact of life, but one that he accepts, and he will go to whatever lengths he must in order to complete the task before him.

First Person: [Snape’s voice cuts sharply over the network, clearly unimpressed with his current situation. A watch with buttons? Did it even properly tell the time? Clearly, this was some Muggle foolishness – despite the fact that everything else about his surroundings suggested magic. Magic he had never seen before now, but magic all the same.]

While these devices may be considered a more efficient means of communication than most magic, and nowhere near as messy as firetalking has the potential to be, there are inherent flaws in their design. They are far too small, for one, and lend themselves to being easily misplaced.

That said, I wish to know more of the nature of this place. As kidnappings go, I suppose this one could be considered civil, but that doesn’t make it anything less of a violation. Any information that others here might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

[Though really, from the tone of his voice, it doesn’t sound like he appreciates much of anything.]

Third Person: It was as though some higher power had suddenly decided that his life did not have enough irksome interruptions forcing themselves on him already. Travel by train was hardly foreign, but in general, he tended to remember actually boarding rather than simply waking up to find himself already in-transit. That had been unsettling enough, until the train had pulled into the station and the fog had cleared, revealing a city both strange and unfamiliar.

He was glad to find that his wand had remained on his person, and promptly armed himself with it as he ventured forth from the platform. The station itself was quiet, almost eerily so, as though it didn’t see many travelers. The brochures that were on display caught his eye as he passed, their covers bright red and demanding of attention, and he paused long enough to help himself to one, gingerly unfolding it and skimming through the information provided. His upper lip curled into an unpleasant sneer as he read.

Welcome to Ruby City. He quickly read through what followed. What unabashed, idiotic drivel. Even the worst of his students could have concocted a better tale; they were all better liars than they were potion-makers, anyway. Clearly, whatever magic or mischief was afoot here, there were answers to be had, and he would seek them out. Severus Snape was not a man who suffered any brand of foolishness gladly, nor was he a man who enjoyed being left in the dark.

It was only then that an unfamiliar weight in his right pocket caught his attention. Upon investigating, he produced a small, brightly silver-plated pocket-watch, turning it over in his gaunt hand as he examined it. Curious, but worth further investigation – much like everything else in this place, he imagined.

It was time to ask questions and hope that there was someone available with enough intelligence to provide him with acceptable answers.

CHARACTER
Name: Nina Fortner/Anna Liebert
Canon: Monster
Timeline: Post-Volume 4: Ayse's Friend/Episode 17: Reunion. Upon thwarting the attempted destruction of the Turkish Quarter in Frantfurt, Nina has split from Tenma and Dieter and is doing her best to find Johan with the intention of shooting him again, ending this once and for all. Nina's native tongue is German, the whole series is spoken in German (even though it's Japanese/English respectively for the viewer). How does translation work in the city?

If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

History: http://obluda.wikia.com/wiki/Nina_Fortner

Personality: Nina Fortner - also known as Anna Liebert - is very much a study in contradictions. A law student at the University of Heidalburg in Germany, Nina is a young, intelligent, kind, gentle and generally unassuming young woman. She is popular and good at akido which she practices regularly with a club of her peers. She is bright and sunny but her life is not perfect. In act far from it.

With memories that only go back as far as her tenth birthday, Nina's past is a mystery to her. Although there are some sparks of recollection, her life has been turned upside down and parts of her that she never even knew about have been put on display for the world to see - although they don't realize that they're seeing it.

Where once Nina had a very clear sense of right and wrong, she has been pulled into a life that she can only remember small parts of, that has caused her to stray from the path that she was on - the life with her friends and her family and what she knew - and instead turned her to a much more gray area where things are not what they seem, she is laden with a responsiblity to fix what is wrong. Nina's belief that killing her twin brother - the evil Johan Liebert - is something she must do (before Dr. Tenma does it) has has changed her.

Her brother is a monster, a cold calculating killer who cares little for the ants that get in the way. As his twin, Nina (or Anna) fears that she may have a Monster inside her as her brother does. She has no doubt that it will destroy her and perhaps the only way to end it is to do just that: Put an end to her brother's reign of terror once and for all. And the lengths she's willing to go to to do so have not yet been fully seen...

CHARACTER
Name: Sherlock Holmes
Canon: Guy Ritchie Movieverse
Timeline: Beginning of Game of Shadows, just after he’s told Watson about Moriarty
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:
Sherlock Holmes is an eccentric genius and consulting detective, oftentimes his work is private cases but he also works alongside Scotland Yard. His eccentricism lies in a number of places--including his use of drugs, his drinking things like formaldehyde or stuff for eye surgery, his manner of dress (which is often a hodge-podge of clothing) and his secluding himself away for months at a time. He also has a tendency to use a number of outrageous disguises to conceal himself for cases, including false noses, beards and even dressing as a woman.

His genius lies in his talent for observation; he can see the smallest details, from a speck of ink on a person’s ear to the smell of a certain type of glaze on bread. He then takes these minute details--which he believes more important than the big picture--to form assumptions about people or the actions they’ve taken. He’s exceptionally good at it and he’s dedicated a number of years of his life to perfecting it.

This is for a number of reasons. Firstly, he gets quite the kick out of it. He finds it incredibly entertaining. Boredom does not suit him at all. In the first movie, after his case was finished he’d spent three months locked in a room in his house and eventually ended up shooting holes in the wall because he couldn’t find anything else to do with his time. Boredom also leads him to ingesting nothing but tobacco, coffee and coca leaves (the plant cocaine is made from).

He also strives for a challenge and going mind to mind with other brilliant people. People like Moriarty, who might be evil and Sherlock might detest what he does, but he also has the capacity to respect and admire the skill that had been required to nearly start a world war. Intelligent people draw his interest because they function on the same level mentally as he does. He tends to insult people he thinks are ridiculously less intelligent, Lestrade for example but it is typically all in good fun. It is not meant to be scathing or hurtful. Watson even claims that Irene Adler is the only woman he likes because she’s the only one that’s ever outsmarted him.

For all his genius, or maybe because of it, Sherlock is difficult for most people to get along with because he’s rather full of himself and cares very little for what other people think of him. There are only a handful of people that he would ever admit caring for (and even then, it would never be out loud) and getting him to show it would be nigh impossible. His care for people is shown in crazy, roundabout ways like getting Watson into a fight on accident the night before his wedding. Normally, he wouldn’t bother himself with things like stag parties for people and he’d actually forgotten, but he’d done his best to make a night of it anyway.

CHARACTER:
Name: Archie Hopper
Canon: Once upon a Time
Timeline: The end of season 2 episode 10, "The Cricket Game" (after his "death" but before the twist at the end of the episode)
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:
Archie Hopper is, on the surface, a pretty composed middle aged man. Working as a therapist in Storybrook, his temprement is suited to that. It's assumed he has several clients at his practice, but his interactions as a threapist have only been shown with Henry and Regina, and during both sessions he's demonstrated patience and understanding of how to give professional suggestions to both of them.

He's very observant, as demonstrated when he pointed out that Henry was lying about being on a field trip, but his observations can cloud his judgment. He can be quick to act when someone is in danger ("That still small voice", when he goes into the mine to find Henry) which can lead to disregarding his own safety; which shows his compassion for others. This may be due to his past as Jiminy Cricket but this is just speculation on my part.

For his good qualities, he's still human and not above being manipulated. Regina Mills has shown herself able to manipulate him into acting in contrast to what he feels is better for Henry's therapy sessions, and in the same chord, to go against his conscience. If circumstances were met, he could be manipulated to a point to tune out his conscience, though I think there would be at least one (if not several) stop gaps before it got too far. (For example, he could be convinced to tell Henry to stop believing his ideas about the fairy tale land, but I can't see him being manipulated to do something extreme like going along with an angry mob to the point of violence. (s2, "We are Both"). Once he's realized how he'd been acting, he offered Regina his help to cope with the effects of the curse being lifted. He also seems a little too trusting of people he knows, which comes back to bite him hard in s2's "The Cricket Game" at his apparent "murder".

CHARACTER
Name: Baelfire
Canon: Once Upon a Time
Timeline: Just after he leaves the Enchanted Forest for the Land Without Magic, but before he gets there.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?:
Henry and Baelfire have no current canon connections besides being around the same age and the same sort of magic. They would not need to interact without a third person, most likely Regina or Rumplestiltskin, and therefore there will be no need for playercesting. That said; if they were played by two different muns, then their relationship would be interesting. But as it is, it does not need to happen and can be avoided.

Personality: We are expecting at least THREE well-written paragraphs minimum, with references to canon examples of your character’s personality. Please provide us with insight to your character and their behaviour, as well as your understanding of them.

Baelfire, or Bae for short, is a caring soul. Despite his parentage, he cares for everyone else as much as himself and only wants the best for people. Because of this and many other traits, he has been described as the light inside Rumplestiltskin. The love his father has for him is what keeps him human. Sadly, this is only seen a lot later when Bae was gone. Rumplestiltskin acts much less human, with much less remorse for his actions, and tends to use everyone else in the Enchanted Forest and beyond like a giant chess board. This is relevant to note as it shows Bae was Rumplestiltskin’s anchor to humanity and despite the problems his power created, Bae’s happiness was what his father wanted most of all.

Though Rumplestiltskin wanted his son to be happy, Bae attempts to help others were mostly futile as his father generally disregarded his pleas and irritation at his acts which generally ended other people dying for no reason. This is shown very obviously in Bae’s second appearance on the show as he realises his father has killed the maid they had. Despite the fact she was mute, she was still killed and Bae argues about it with Rumplestiltskin even if it was in vain. Another unless attempt to save a person’s life came when Rumplestiltskin killed the man he turned into a snail. Bae pleaded with his father but nothing changed.

He doesn’t like the idea of his father being The Dark One and refuses to let him use his magic to help him. For example; to heal his wounds, preferring to use ointments and water like everyone else even if it took longer to heal and hurt more. He also tries to stop his friend Morraine from seeing him as he believes himself to be dangerous even though it’s his father they are afraid of, not him. This is another example of his ability to care about so many others instead of himself.

He is also very brave. He seeks out the Reul Ghorm alone so as to try and help his father be the person used to be. She turns out to be the Blue Fairy and after she gives him a way to another world, he is then willing to leave everything behind for the unknown on the premise he will get his father back before he gained the powers of the Dark One. Sadly Rumplestiltskin doesn’t honour this deal and Bae calls his father a coward before disappearing into the land without magic.

Another one of Bae’s greatest traits is his hope and belief. Something he shares with Henry. Not only does he believe in himself, he believes in other and especially his father. He believes there must be a way to be with his father before the power overtook him and that belief is rewarded.

CHARACTER
Name: John Watson
Canon: Sherlock Holmes
Timeline: Post Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Personality: John Watson is, first and foremost, a gentleman. Serving in the Afghan war as a medical man helped to shape him into the man he is today - loyal, honorable, courageous and far from unintelligent. Although neat, tidy, professional, disciplined, and mild-mannered are strong descriptors, John is also the adventurous sort, learning shortly after moving in with the great mind of Sherlock Holmes that he takes great enjoyment out of accompanying him on his cases, helping to solve them, and also ensuring that Holmes doesn't get himself in more trouble than he can handle on his own.

One of the greatest factors of Watson's personality is, in fact, Sherlock Holmes himself. While he is not incapable of existing without the consulting detective, Holmes brings out the best and worst of Watson during their day to day routines. From Watson pulling teeth and slamming open blinds just to get Holmes up and out of his dingy, cluttered rooms to him fighting alongside him against thugs three times their size, Watson is always there, and unerringly loyal.

But living with and working alongside Sherlock Holmes has its... trying times, and although many have come and gone, unable to live with the other man's seemingly never-ending eccentricities, Watson is always the one man that remains at Sherlock's side (often whether Watson likes it or not).

Although he aims for an eventual and healthy domestic relationship with Mary Morstan, John is constantly drawn to the adventurous life that Holmes keeps, and even Holmes himself deduced without difficulty that Watson is 'terrified of a life without the thrill of the macabre', and this can be clearly seen in Watson's continual internal battle of 'just one more time' throughout the entirety of both movies.

John Watson's most notable shortcomings would be his drinking and gambling habits, of which Sherlock is well aware of. When in the presence of a gambling pit Watson is almost incapable of keeping hold of his professional state, drawn to the idea of just one more win, or just enough for rent, and when alcohol is involved (which Watson has no qualms about consuming in the slightest) the allure is almost impossible to ignore. Once he starts he has difficulty pulling himself away, even going so far as drinking himself into a stupor the night before his wedding and getting himself into a very large fight over bids scattered on the floor.

Right and wrong are clearly defined for him; right is being a decent human being. It’s being a good father, an honest person, it’s caring about other people and showing compassion when it’s needed. Wrong is being a prick, breaking the law, hurting people. It’s withholding information about a third party being abused and not caring to speak up about it.

When working, he might come off as hard, but that’s because the job requires it. He’s an approachable person and his heart is in the right place. He’s the type of man who will go out of his way to help someone when they need it. That goes beyond it just being part of his job. Even after he got fired from the police department, he didn’t just give up on the case he was working on. People were dying and it was still his responsibility to help.

Sheriff Stilinski’s most important duties though, are to be the best father he can be. His son, Stiles, is the most important person in his life, especially since he lost his wife and Stiles’s mother years ago. There isn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for his son. He loves Stiles so much and wants the best for him. Even when he has plenty of reason to be angry at Stiles, he never takes it out on him. He might become resigned and disappointed, but there isn’t a need to go out of the way to make Stiles feel bad about it.

He’s proud of his achievements—like that time when Stiles actually played in the lacrosse game. Their relationship isn’t always the most conventional, as Stiles has helped the Sheriff with the brainstorming aspects of investigation. It’s not exactly ethical, but he knows Stiles well enough to know that he’s not only a bright kid, but he’s resourceful enough to find out what he wants to anyway. This overall paternal feeling isn’t just limited to Stiles. He frequently shows concern for Scott and Scott’s mother, as well. It could even go as far to be said that Scott is like a second son to him. After all, it’s more common to see them together than not, and he knows Scott well enough to trust him.

Third Person:
Sheriff Stilinski had seen some things in his life. He’d seen amazing things, beautiful things, violent things that he’d rather not think about. But even the most vile of things he’d seen didn’t compare to what he was facing now. It started with the strange and fatal animal attacks in the city. Then it was the string of murders that was also more or less unexplained. This leads came to a dead end. It was ironic that the break that he finally got happened after he turned in his badge. What mattered was that it was something.

He’d been in his office at the police department with Stiles and Scott, piecing this together when he was faced with the most terrifying experience of his life—seeing his boy with a gun pointed at him. The kid they suspected behind the murders was there, making his demands. Sheriff Stilinski had seen things. He knew how to negotiate with people like this, but it that didn’t take the internal panic away, the worry that something might happen to his son.

So of course he’d complied and allowed himself to be handcuffed. He was rendered useless, but what other option did he have? There weren’t any others and that was what made it even worse. He had no idea what was going on as soon as the others were out of sight. It was hard to imagine that some kid was even capable of doing all of this, of hurting all of these people. The fact that Matt had shown up at the police station like this at all just proved that some people were just really damaged. Unfortunately, sometimes it’s too late to help the people who really need it.

He leaned his head against the wall, eyes closing briefly as he kept his ears trained on what was going on in the other side of the building. It was impossible for him to have fallen asleep in such a high-stress situation, but when he opened his eyes again, he wasn’t handcuffed or even in the police department anymore. It felt like a lot of time had gone by since then and yet he couldn’t even remember how that situation even resolved.

He was on a train, but going where? What about his son? Although he remained calm, he couldn’t help but panic. He hoped more than anything that Stiles was okay, but it was hard to say as he couldn’t even tell if he was hallucinating this or not. Either way, he was going to find out, even if was the last thing he ever did.

CHARACTER
Name: Viktor Frankenstein (Doctor Whale)
Canon: Once Upon a Time
Timeline: “In the Name of the Brother”
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: Grace and Whale don’t canonly interact, and have no reason to. He’s a doctor and if she gets sick in the city, there are other people she could go to.

Personality: On first glance, Viktor seems to be nothing more than a skeevy guy. He goes on a date with one woman and completely zones out when she’s talking to him in favour of checking out another woman. This aspect of his personality is interesting, as he’s so focused on dating and getting laid that he asks David if the nuns are dateable after the curse is broken since they were technically fairies. He has the inflated ego to think that Mary Margaret quit her volunteering job at the hospital because of him, and yet he’s courteous enough to send flowers to her after they have a night together.

Despite this, he’s a capable and professional man. As Doctor Whale, he’s someone who cares for his patients and will do what he can to save them, but his personality isn’t expanded on until his background episodes were aired. Between “the Doctor” and “In the Name of a Brother” we see the portrait of a man who strives to defy death with his science by bringing the dead back to life. He’s a young man who seeks his father’s approval but can never gain it, for not only is he not a military man, but he also spends all his time conducting research and experiments that Alphonse Frankenstein doesn’t approve of.

The one surviving family member that Viktor has who he gets along with is his younger brother, Gerhardt. The extent of their relationship isn’t shown, but they understand either other. Gerhardt is able to read Viktor and know when he’s upset, and Viktor, like the good older brother he tries to be, tries to assure his younger brother it’s fine. There’s a stubbornness in Viktor that’s seen countless times throughout his screentime. His determination to succeed and gain his father’s favour is one of those moments.

His reasoning behind wanting to succeed with this particular science, when he could’ve well just been a physician, isn’t stated either. The death of his brother proves to be the biggest factor for him continue with it, at least. There is a lot of guilt surrounding this event. Gerhardt died because of him and Viktor tried to use his science to bring him back to life. He failed, and when Alphonse found out, it solidified that the father-son relationship there could never be salvaged.

And yet, though the odds were against him, it didn’t stop Viktor. He never gave up in his pursuit for a strong enough heart to try to bring Gerhardt back to life. This determination and eventual failure—the heart he got from his deal with Rumplestiltskin was strong enough to bring Gerhardt back to life, but not in the functional way that he wanted—only proves to really mess with him when he has his memories back in Storybrooke. The remembrance of his past and the inability to get back home is a lot to deal with. It makes him angry, but in the end he copes with it by drinking and becoming apathetic to things going on around him.

He holds science in high regard, and definitely above magic. Even in the moments where he’s needed magic—such as when getting an arm reattached—he only admits he needs magic in the most begrudging manner.

First Person: here

Third Person:
Viktor was a man with priorities. He really, truly was. He wanted more than anything to get back to his brother. He had to try again, to make things better. It wasn’t a matter of that being possible or not, because he would do whatever it took to get it to work. Nothing was impossible with science on his side. He just had to get back to his world. As aggravating as it was, he had no choice but to wait. Regina wouldn’t send him back when he was in Storybrooke, and from the looks of things, it would be a challenge getting out of Ruby City.

Perhaps this was a good thing, though. Ruby had spoken to him about fresh starts, and really, that was what he needed. It was better to be Doctor Whale than Doctor Frankenstein. He’d made so many mistakes in his home world, especially where his little brother was concerned. Maybe it would’ve been better to let him stay dead, but at the time he couldn’t bear the thought. Gerhardt had understood him, hadn’t looked down on him for his work. He still had to find a way to go back, that would never change, but at least he could be a better person until the opportunity finally came.

Ruby City was only marginally weirder than Storybrooke would’ve seemed to anyone not from there. But it wasn’t too bad. At least, everything here was affordable since it was free and he still had opportunity to help people. There could never be a shortage on doctors, after all. There might come a time soon that his skills are needed. Until then, Viktor settled into his new life here. He wasn’t even going to lie, a lot of his efforts went into drawing up new plans. New ideas just in case. After the whole thing with Daniel, he wouldn’t try bringing anyone back to life again. He did care for all of his appendages. Besides, that all depended upon whether Regina had her vault here or not.

There was nothing wrong with a man enjoying science. He was interested to see if this place had any types of science he hadn’t read about. It was possible, since it seemed to be on a different plane entirely. With this in mind, he made plans to spend the day at the library.

If it's a deal breaker to link this, please let me know and I'll have it up as soon as I can but I've seen a few linked ones on here even after the update so I'm unsure. I feel better knowing an app is up if it can be screened after reading though, if at all possible.

Aside that here it is!

CHARACTER
Character Name: Sebastian Moran
Canon: BBC Sherlock
Timeline: Shortly after “The Reichenbach Fall”
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Sebastian Moran is the best sniper in the world. Upon first meeting, anyone might be put off by the scars that cross his face, but then again, his rugged charms just might draw you in. He keeps his bleach-blonde hair slicked back most of the time, and his signature aviators cover emerald green eyes. Most often found with a cigarette dangling from his lips, he’s got a slow smile and a rough laugh that just might win you over. Watch your back though; never to be underestimated, he’s not a man to be crossed if you plan to survive.
He’s cool and calm under fire, sometimes quite literally. Even with a barrage of bullets flying over his head, he stays collected and gets the job done. His hands never shake, and if he has all the information to make a hit, he never misses. Whether it’s a half-mile shot from his beloved rifle or a knife in the back at close quarters, he’s the best man in a fight, as long as he’s on your side.
He’s a man of simple tastes, far preferring the taste of a cool beer than some fancy wine or high-priced whiskey. That said, he’s a firm believer in ‘waste not, want not’ and he won’t turn down any booze passed his way. He smokes like a chimney, but he lingers over each one, savouring its unique flavour. His favourite way to celebrate after a successful hit is a long shower, a beer, and a nice long nap. Not that he gets that very often.
He’s meticulous about his guns, and religiously cleans them after every hit, and sometimes just when he’s bored. It wouldn’t do to have his rifle jam because it was dirty, would it? He carefully inspects every piece of equipment before and after he uses it. His eye for detail was one of the first things that attracted Jim Moriarty to him in the first place. That, and the fact that he holds the record for the longest shot made by a single marksman both make him a very attractive employee to London’s biggest criminal mastermind.

History: Sebastian came from a troubled home, but these days, who doesn’t? His father was an ex-military man who beat submission into his son for the slightest offenses, and when he got drunk was a terror to behold. His mother was a weak woman, too frail and meek to protect her child from the rampages of her husband.
He joined the army at eighteen and quickly rose through the ranks to become a colonel. He was head of his own unit, until it all went wrong, of course. He got drunk on some very bad absinthe, spent three days in the middle of the mission pursuing a tiger, shot and killed said (protected) tiger, and then shot a subordinate when the man dared to question his leader’s authority. Needless to say, he was court- marshalled faster than you can say ‘tiger’ and sent home in disgrace.
He wandered around London a few months until he ran into a strange little man in a perfectly pressed suit, looking extremely out of place in the dive bar he’d chosen to take refuge in today. The enigmatic little Irishman offered him a job, and one thing turned into another. Now he lives in the same unbearably posh flat with Jim Moriarty as his ‘little live in’ (as Jim likes to mockingly call him), serving as his personal bodyguard as well as his favourite sniper and right hand man. He knows he’ll never leave Jim, even if he wanted to. He’d die first.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Brilliant sniper, but deeply scarred background. Also physical scarred from time spent in war and with Jim (boss gets handy with a knife) but those don’t slow him down at all.
Relationships to Canon Characters: Employee of Jim Moriarty

First Person: [He didn’t remember having fallen asleep... Jim was going to kill him if he knew he’d fallen asleep on a job! And the most important one too, the Fall, the conclusion to the game that had consumed Jim for weeks on end. The last thing he remembered, he was lying on his stomach in front of the window, waiting for the detective to jump, and now.... he scrubbed a hand across his face, looking around. He appeared to be on a train, and the only one on the train too. Hm. Alone on a train, and a quick glance out the window told him they’d not be stopping any time soon. He sank down in a seat.] Well this is annoyin’. Jim’s gonna be furious.
[He takes a moment to collect his thoughts, finding a strange bronze device on his wrist.] What the feckin hell is this? [He picks at the device, trying to get it off, without success. He sighs, figuring it can’t be that bad. It looks like a watch, anyway.]

Third Person: He was always meticulous about his hits, cleaning the gun ahead of time, oiling it perfectly to ensure a flawless job. But something had gone wrong this time, his gun hadn’t fired, and he had to let a very important target walk away.
He slunk home like a dog with its tail between its legs, fearing the punishment when he got home. Jim would be beyond furious at him for letting the ambassador get away. He dumped his gun bag inside the door and carefully took off his boots, never wanting to soil Jim’s white carpets. He was in enough trouble; he didn’t need to make it worse. He was hoping to get a beer to dull his senses just a little before he had to deal with Jim’s shrill voice yelling at him, but a call from the office told him it was not to be. He sighed and padded to Jim’s office in the back part of the flat, awaiting punishment.
He stood valiantly under Jim’s verbal abuses while the man screamed at him. “Yes boss,” he said tiredly for the thousandth time. “M’sorry, boss. Won’t happen again.” He looked up at him shyly, wondering how it was that a pocket-size Irishman managed to cow him on a regular basis. In any case, it was their arrangement and it was what worked for them. He sighed and retired to his basement sanctuary to clean the offending gun. He wondered what had gone wrong with it. After a few minutes of examining it, he found a little piece of paper jamming the firing mechanism. His brow furrowed and he pulled out the offending scrap.
On it was written- “I hope you clean your gun, tiger. JM xoxo’. Sebastian groaned and buried his head in his hands. Infuriating little bastard; Jim had clogged his gun on purpose! He sighed and just cleaned his rifle as usual. He wouldn’t say anything, not now, but he’d get back at Jim in some way. Maybe messing up his suits... oh, the possibilities were endless.
