A note for CR AU applications

One of the reasons for this decision is that there is not enough canon information for this particular character, and while we do allow Canon OCs, we prefer that they play a more prevalent role in the canon from which they're taken. Personality: In looking specifically at the myers-briggs personality types, Leopold Fitz would be a classic INTJ.

INTJ (The Mastermind)
INTJs are one of the rarest of the sixteen personality types, and account for approximately 1-2% of the population.
Hallmarks of the INTJ include independence of thought and a desire for efficiency. They work best when given autonomy and creative freedom. They harbor an innate desire to express themselves by conceptualizing their own intellectual designs. They have a talent for analyzing and formulating complex theories. INTJs are generally well-suited for occupations within academia, research, consulting, management, science, engineering, and law. They are often acutely aware of their own knowledge and abilities—as well as their limitations and what they don’t know (a quality that tends to distinguish them from INTPs). INTJs thus develop a strong confidence in their ability and talents, making them natural leaders.
In forming relationships, INTJs tend to seek out others with similar character traits and ideologies. Agreement on theoretical concepts is an important aspect of their relationships. By nature INTJs can be demanding in their expectations, and approach relationships in a rational manner. As a result, INTJs may not always respond to a spontaneous infatuation but wait for a mate who better fits their set criteria. They tend to be stable, reliable, and dedicated. Harmony in relationships and home life tends to be extremely important to them. They generally withhold strong emotion and do not like to waste time with what they consider irrational social rituals. This may cause non-INTJs to perceive them as distant and reserved; nevertheless, INTJs are usually very loyal partners who are prepared to commit substantial energy and time into a relationship to make it work.

The first part is abundantly evident in the manner in which he works. Rather than being dependent on others, he rather be left to do his own work when it comes to development and design. Often getting frustrated when he is unable to work something out out on his own or having to rely on the design or aid of another besides Simmons, he relies on his inventions and plans to relay a part of himself to others; to show Simmons how much he cares for her he develops a make shift device and plan to ensure that she will survive even at peril to himself. This shows that his means of expressing himself and his intellect comes in the forms of the development of the tools and devices that he develops as well as the breakthroughs that he makes; which makes the damage done to him more devastating as the hypoxia has damaged that means of self-expression. After what happened to him he also shows knowledge that he does realize that his limitations are much more apparent and he is able to recognize them and challenge them. Gradually he is able to regain his confidence in his own abilities and step by step progressing back to a higher level with fewer limitations as before.

His relationship with others also is reflective of an INTJ as the person with whom he forms the strongest and most driving bond is Simmons, someone who has the same intellectual capability and a similar moral compass as his own when the meet and begin working together; after a short time of competing against one another. He forms bonds first on an intellectual level and then after a time forms a deep loyalty and friendship with them, coming to develop a fierce friendship that is not easily shakable and lead him to doing whatever he can for their safety. At the same time there are a number of things that people do that due to his social ineptitude and disconnection he is unable to fully understand or comprehend.

In short, Fitz is a brilliant engineer who expresses himself through his knowledge and creation of equipment, when he is unable to solve a problem that involves designing something from that knowledge he becomes frustrated to a point that he further has trouble communicating and connecting with others. A problem which was amplified by the cerebral hypoxia, the damage done from a lack of oxygen, which further limited his vocabulary and ability to recall and connect ideas as freely as before. Despite this he is a brilliant engineer who realizes his limitations and becomes frustrated at how they’ve grown, thus leading him to see himself as damaged when he’s unable to solve problems that previously would have been simple for him. Science is what makes sense, and if it’s not science and doesn’t make sense then there is no reason to put any stock in it. There’s an explanation for everything even if it might be readily apparent there must be a way to explain it and he will do everything that he can to find those explanations.

At the same time he is a fiercely loyal friend, one that refuses to believe betrayal until he’s nearly killed, that leads him to steal from a dangerous agency for a man that’s held secrets from him, and even hides the mutation and life altering secret of a friend for fear of what others might do. He will do whatever he can for those who are important to him, he will protect them and if required give his life so that they can live. However, he does know his own limitations and certainly holds a high regard for his own life and safety as well.

Abilities: Fitz is a brilliant engineer capable of designing and building a large number of gadgets and weapons that can be used for any number of things. He has the ability to read a machine very quickly, enabling him to dismantle and rework machine parts rapidly.

Personality:
Nero is the type of person you don't want to mess with. He's arrogant, foul-mouthed, hot-blooded, snarky, and cares very little for authority though he does listen to Credo's orders but that's because he's family (He probably just sees it as a favor or something). He respects only a handful of people. Mainly his adoptive brother Credo, his love-interest/adoptive sister Kyrie, and after the events of the game, Dante.

Nero doesn't play well with others so the Order often assigns him solo missions, much to his preference. Another reason for this is because he is hands down, the best demon slayer/hunter in the Order. He gets the job done, no matter how dangerous and he never lets his target get away. He is quite stubborn and he never knows when to quit making him an ideal hunter. The target can be a 10ft tall demon ape and Nero would still rush in, guns ablaze. He doesn't give much thought to who or what his opponent is so he ends up pissing off the wrong people. Once in a while he might even get his ass handed to him, though the only person to ever do that in a fair fight was Dante, but he will still get back up and keep on going.

He's also pretty immature, easily getting emotional over things and bored just as fast. Even though he is part of the Order he doesn't share their faith, in fact the only reason he's there is cause of Kyrie. He'd only attend mass to hear her sing and nothing more. When Sanctus starts preaching, Nero starts listing to some tunes to drown him out. Nero is often seen getting angry at some of the pettiest things for example, a broken drawbridge control panel. When the bridge wouldn't lower when he flipped the switch he slammed his hand down on the panel then, in the typical DMC reaction to broken machines, shot it which resulted in it blowing up and lowering the bridge(Typical). Even though it worked, it was a bit excessive. He also tends to swear and make fun of his opponents. When he first met Agnus, he made fun of his stuttering after calling his lab a "Hellhole" then proceeds to call him a jackass after he defeats him.

For all of his strength and bravado Nero is not without weaknesses. For example is when Kyrie first found out about him being a half demon. His heart had practically jumped to his throat making him unable to speak when he tried to explain why he had a demon arm to Kyrie, or why he fought Credo. Nero cares very much for Kyrie's opinion and feelings towards him, so this event terrified him. When she was kidnapped by Agnus, he returned to his usual angry self and sought to kill Agnus and save Kyrie but unfortunately failed to save her. Not once, but twice and on both times he is seen crying his heart out, pounding on the ground until it shattered.

Even though Nero only appears in the fourth game, he does some growing up towards the end. One of his developments was his willingness to become an outcast in exchange for power to protect those important to him when he received the Yamato. The other, and most important one, is when he accepts his right hand and becoming a demon. Through the game, Nero is seen hating his right hand for turning into what it is now saying it drives him crazy. When Nero accepts his current situation, he felt a sense of purpose. Ironically saying that "God" was the reason why he has that arm and that its purpose is to send demons back to hell.

Abilities:
Half-Demon: Being a half demon, Nero possess enhanced physical abilities. Strength, speed, endurance, durability, and senses are all enhanced. Wounds like sword slashes regenerate faster though major wounds such as being stabbed by a lance require more power to heal.

Devil Trigger/Yamato: Just like Dante and Vergil, Nero has the Devil Trigger ability which was granted by the Yamato. His body doesn't transform into a demon, but an etherial azure demon wielding the Yamato appears behind him. The demon slightly resembles Vergil's devil form, being able to launch swords and the "scabbard" on its left hand that hold the Yamato. When in this form, Nero can launch a powerful slash imbued with demonic energy, or build up energy within himself to able to slash faster and stronger. Unfortunately, Nero cannot fully utilize the power of the Yamato. He is unable to cut through dimensions, which Dante and Vergil are capable of doing.

Red Queen: Nero's personal, customized sword. It was originally a standard sword that the knights of the Order carry but Nero took the liberty of changing the thin katana-like blade with a heavier single-sided blade. The sword is also fuel injected, activated and controlled by a mechanism similar to a motorcycles throttle and when revved the sword can emit flames when attacking, though it doesn't seem to run out of fuel. Nero wields this with ease using one hand and can imbue the blade with demonic energy so it can amplify the flames and increase the velocity of the blade when he slashes.

Blue Rose: Nero's customized double barrel revolver. It defies logic, physics, and belongs in a video game. It fires two bullets at a time and can store six bullets. Don't ask, it just does. It fires demonic bullets hence he never runs out of ammo. There is a cutscene where Nero reloads his gun but this was just purely for show. Nero can also fire compressed demonic bullets which set the enemy on fire on contact then explode a few seconds later. The charging takes a few minutes to get to the exploding bullet deal. The shot is very powerful so Nero uses both hands when firing the charged shot.

Devil Bringer: Nero's trademark right hand. The DB can absorb demonic artifacts and add to its power though it seems to be choosy of what it absorbs. Nero can't control the absorption but he can decide when he wants to call forth the Yamato, which is stored inside. Its trademark move is "Snatch" where an etherial arm comes out and launches itself toward an enemy 30ft away, grab it, then come back with the enemy in tow. Nero can also control the size of the hand as seen when he fights Sanctus and makes the fist bigger than a human. The DB is virtually indestructible, being able to withstand Dante's "Stinger" and the impact of Credo's sword implying that Nero can't feel pain. When the DB is hit like with Dante's said attack, Nero didn't even bat an eye when it was stabbed. The DB can still function like a normal hand. Nero can still feel things like the slime of a toad or the warmth of another's hand. The only thing that can truly "hurt" Nero's right hand is the Yamato. Its full capabilities has yet to be seen but, its power output is related directly to Nero’s emotions. The more emotional he is, the higher the output.

[Nero was napping in his office. His hands behind his head, chair leaning against the wall, the magazine he was reading covering his face, and his legs crossed and on his desk. The phone rang and he slammed one foot on the table causing the receiver to fly into the air. He used his right hand to snatch the receiver in midair and placed it against his ear.]

…"Devil May Cry"……heh, that's the password. So, what do you ne-…….What? No this isn't "Dante"!……No, he's not around!…..This is a new branch. Just opened a month ago…..Hey man, I'm way better than "Dante" so ju-…….Hey look jackass! You called cause you got a problem that needs solving, right? I'm the only guy in town who can help you so, unless you can solve that "problem" yourself I'm hanging up!……..Oh so NOW you want to do business!…..What the hell makes you think that I'm going to-……Okay, I'm listening….Double the pay?….And how much are we talking here?…….(whistle)…..You sure you can pay that much?……Hah! Alright! You got a deal! So, where is the sorry son of a bitch at?……ruins of Fortuna Castle, huh…..Alright, consider it dead.[Hangs up.]

Prose Log Sample:
It had been months after that terrible event that shattered the lives of the people in Fortuna. The betrayal of the man they one revered as a paragon of hope and love, the death of countless innocent people, and the faith in their "God" broken. Many believed that their lives were over and that there was nothing to be gained in the aftermath but they were mistaken. There were those who still had faith, those who still had the will to live. It started small but the people started to rebuild their city and along with it, their lives. The darkness still lingers in their world, preying on those who wander too close. But there is one who fights to protect the lives of the people.

The moon was at its zenith. The pale light casting a shadow on the remains of a once grand castle as Nero stood before what used to be the entrance of the Order's headquarters. The night was cold and air was stale, the perfect place for a demon to hide. Nero had felt discomfort the moment he came close to this place. He felt mixed feelings of anger and sorrow building in the pit of his stomach, the bitter memories of Credo's end, and fury of Sanctus plans. "Let's get this over with." Nero pulled out his gun and ventured deeper into the ruins.

The interior was just as bad as the exterior, if not worse. Nero casually ventured through the chaos, leaping over rubble or just walking around it searching for signs of his prey. Much time passed and Nero still had not sighted his prey until he stumbled upon a corpse of a human, half-eaten and fresh blood spread on the floor near the center of the ruins. He knelt down and investigated, a feeling of anger and guilt welling up inside him. "Still pretty fresh, damn…It's close by." He stood up and searched the nearby area. After an hour of searching, he had finally found his prey. A small group of three reptilian demons called "Assault". He found them covered in blood, licking their claws, savoring their kill. "Time to get to work." Nero lifted his gun and fired at an Assault that had its back turned. It fell forward form the force of shot but quickly rose to its feet.

"I hope you assholes know just how pissed I am right now!" Nero glared. The demons roared and hissed, propping up their fins. "Heh! Well? Are you just gonna stand there? Come and get some!" Nero taunted the demon by spreading his arms and exposing his chest. The demons screeched and charged towards him at blinding speed…..too bad for them Nero was faster. "Heh! Let's rock!"
